Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary.
Jesus said to the Jews:
“Amen, amen, I say to you,
whoever keeps my word will never see death.”
So the Jews said to him,
“Now we are sure that you are possessed.
Abraham died, as did the prophets, yet you say,
‘Whoever keeps my word will never taste death.’
Are you greater than our father Abraham, who died?
Or the prophets, who died?
Who do you make yourself out to be?”
Jesus answered, “If I glorify myself, my glory is worth nothing;
but it is my Father who glorifies me,
of whom you say, ‘He is our God.’
You do not know him, but I know him.
And if I should say that I do not know him,
I would be like you a liar.
But I do know him and I keep his word.
Abraham your father rejoiced to see my day;
he saw it and was glad.”
So the Jews said to him,
“You are not yet fifty years old and you have seen Abraham?”
Jesus said to them, “Amen, amen, I say to you,
before Abraham came to be, I AM.”
So they picked up stones to throw at him;
but Jesus hid and went out of the temple area. JN 8:51-59
Jesus is taking off the gloves and using fighting words with the Jews now. They picked up stones to throw at Him. Jesus is continuing to stand firm that He is the Son of God and one with the Father who sent Him. ”Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever keeps my word will never see death.” Radical. Jesus puts His Word above death. Are you striving to live His Word?
Next, the Jews ask if Jesus is above the covenant of the Torah given to Abraham by God himself. This is a whopper! Jesus answers, ““If I glorify myself, my glory is worth nothing; but it is my Father who glorifies me, of whom you say, ‘He is our God.’You do not know him, but I know him. And if I should say that I do not know him, I would be like you a liar. But I do know him and I keep his word. Abraham your father rejoiced to see my day; he saw it and was glad.” Jesus tells the Jews He knows God much better than they do and calls them liars if they do not believe Him. Then, He puts himself above the great patriarch of the Old Testament, Abraham and says that Abraham rejoiced at seeing Jesus, the Savior.
Last, Jesus puts the icing on the cake. The Jews of course ask how Jesus knows Abraham rejoiced at seeing Him. Jesus replies, “Amen, amen, I say to you, before Abraham came to be, I AM.” Jesus calls Himself God once again! These words of Jesus are complete blasphemy or complete Divine Revelation. This is the dividing point for all of us. Do we believe in what Jesus said (ultimately believing He did die and rise making everything He said true)? Or do we kinda believe, or is there time to believe later, or do we not want to totally commit because we might have to change or be transformed. Believing in anything with our whole heart and soul will be the hardest thing we ever commit to.
It is going to take an act of God (the death and resurrection of His only Son and His grace-both free gifts) to move our hearts and souls to believe in Jesus Christ, His Word, and life after death. “And when the disciples heard this, they were very astonished and said, “Then who can be saved?” And looking at them Jesus said to them, “With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” MT19:25-26
Let God love you. He is fighting for you. He sent His only Son for you. Does this mean anything to us? God’s entire purpose is to create us, love us, and bring us back home to heaven. Our entire purpose is to gain this knowledge on earth, love Him back, serve Him by loving and serving others doing His will, and returning back to Him in our heavenly home. Distractions, distractions, we allow so many distractions and selfishness to get in the way of this Divine Plan. It’s Lent, pray, fast, give alms and sit quietly in the Adoration chapel or empty church and tell God you are all in, ask Him to take the wheel, it’s time to start living not just existing.
Today’s challenge: Ask Jesus to help you believe. “Jesus, I believe, help my unbelief.” MK 9:24

Be a servant, become a saint!
Jesus is telling us that we need to truly believe in him to be saved. Not only believe in him but act as he did. I’m going to apply this to my life by treating everyone with respect and not being rude to them
I can apply this to my life by listening to God’s word and pray more, I can also go to confession more and asking for forgiveness .
I can reflect on this scripture by not allowing distractions to prevent me from acting out God’s plan for me.
Jesus said in this, Who ever keeps Gods word in this shall not see death. The Jews said that why did all the people who believed in God die. I can reflect in this scripture by keeping Gods word and not being like the Jews who did not trust Jesus.
Today I think God wants us to believe in him in all things no matter how bizarre it may sound. The Jews questioned his teaching because they din’t believe he is the Son of Man.
I can apply this to my life by praying to God and asking Him to help me BELIEVE. There are so many distractions in the world trying to distract me from Christ. The devil is tempting me and making me think that I am in control, but I need to let Jesus take control and I should follow behind Him.
We should remember that if we glorify God for the rest of our lives and pray to him we will die on Earth but ultimilly we will go to Heaven. We always need to remember God loves everyone even if you have done the worst of things.
Jesus tells us that if we keep his word, we will never see death. The Jews think he means the literally, but this is not true. If we keep his word, we will live forever, but not on this Earth. We will live forever with Jesus in heaven, but only if we keep his word and follow it through, even if it means death. To think otherwise is just a lie.
Jesus is saying in order to enter into eternal life we must fully trust in the Father.
i think God is trying to tell us that we need to trust him because if we trust God and believe we will never see death but we just have to trust him because he loves us more than anything that is why God is amazing.
What I thing Jesus is trying to tell me through the scripture passage today is that we should trust in the Lord and rejoice. This is one of the passages that leads us to Palm Sunday.
Jesus is saying in order to enter into eternal life we must fully trust in God.
The Jews fought Jesus, and that is exactly what we do when we refuse to kneel or stand during Mass, or refuse to go to Mass. Which is why we need to just accept God into our lives.
I think this is telling me that the only truth is him and any truths that are against him are false. He also sort of talks about his Godliness.
Jesus is saying that if you do not keep his will not go to heaven. But if you keep his word you will have eternal life in heaven.
Jesus says today whoever listens to me and obeys me will find their way to heaven. Jesus says if you leave a good example you will find great light in heaven. He wants us to go out their and preach his word from the Gospel. He died on the cross for our sins so if we follow his lead and do everything the father asks from us when should make our way to heaven. God truly loves us and we need to love him the same back.
Jesus is saying that we will be tested on our catholic faith. People will also think we’re crazy for beliveing in God, but we just need to trust in God’s plan for us.
In today’s Gospel Jesus claims to be God. He claims that he is his Father and he is the one that will save us. We must believe and follow him if we want to receive the true gift of Eternal Life with him in Heaven.
I can apply this to my life by believing in Jesus so that I may never taste death.
God wants us to get to heaven to be with him. Before we get to go to heaven he wants to build a closer relationship with us, but to do that we have to let him in our boat through life.
In today’s scripture Jesus is calling us to proclaim the news of him even if it means that we are going to have stones throne at us.
This scripture shows us that we should not be afraid or ashamed of the Truth. Jesus was telling the Jews about the Word of God, and they did not believe Him, yet He believed and so He was willing to take the unjust criticism because He knew that He was right. Do not be afraid to stand up for what you believe in if it is right, even if you will be persecuted and criticized for it.
We do not know God, we need to get to know him. I know that I personally need to get to know God better. We need to trust fully in Him and He will guide us.
If you believe in God and follow God your soul will live forever in Heaven.
The Jews were so stubborn that they didn’t think about heaven. If we follow Jesus we will be with God forever.
I can apply this to my life by always listening to Jesus and knowing he is always right, and trusting he has a plan for us.
Jesus tells us not to lie because lying can get you no where. We should pray everyday in hope for us to overcome this disadvantage to heaven.
Jesus is the one and only truth. We must choose to believe, to be saved. We need to trust that He will lead us to the right path and eternal life.
In today’s reading It says this “Jesus is taking off the gloves and using fighting words with the Jews now. They picked up stones to throw at Him. Jesus is continuing to stand firm that He is the Son of God and one with the Father who sent Him.” To me this shows how powerful our God truly is, I mean he stood up to his faith even when being threatened to death. We see him do this all the way to his Crucifixion, never once did he stray the path of God.
I can apply thins to my life by keeping his word and by asking Jesus to help me believe
I can apply this to my life by seeing that sometimes we have to fight for our faith. It won’t always be easy. But we have to do it.
This scripture is saying that we should choose to closer to God or to get away closer to before he goes on the cross.
What I got from this passage was that we need to always have faith in God. We need to believe that Jesus is fully man and fully divine.
He is saying that with God anything is possible. He can fix all of our problems and help us with anything we need if we just trust and believe in Him.
In this passage people test Jesus when he said “Whoever keeps my word will never see death” and they respond by saying “Now we are sure that you are posessednAbraham died as well as the prophets.” But that isn’t what Jesus ment. Jesus ment that they would have eternal life in Hevan While thet ment life on earth. This life is not the final horizon. When we die we will either have eternal peace in Hevan with God or everlasting punishment in hell.
in today’s scripture reading, Jesus is standing firm in His truth while the Jews are threatening Him. Jesus loves us even when we do wrong so we need to stand firm and show our faith. Even if we are being persecuted, we need to continue to pursue our faith. Even if we help one person to believe compared to the thousands who don’t we have accomplished greatness.
I can apply this to my life by keeping God close to me. If I believe that He is my Lord and He will protect me with His word, then I will believe it! God will always protect me, even after death.
I can apply this to my life by keeping God close to me. If I believe that He is my Lord and He will protect me with His word, then I will believe it! God will always protect me, even after death
The word of God is a key part in us getting to Heaven, it teaches us how to follow in Jesus’ footsteps.
i can apply this to my life by going to mass on Sundays, following the 10 Commandments to get to Heaven
I can apply this scripture passage to my life today by being more faithful and trusting in God. Right now in this time of the coronavius, we are all worrying, doubting, and fearing much more than normal, and we need to remember that Jesus is there for us to trust and to give our fears to. If we don’t trust God with what ever is happening in our lives, then how can he help us? This scripture has reminded me to pray and listen to what God is trying to tell me in my life.
Jesus is continuing to try to tell the Jews that He is the son of God, but they are doubtful in believing Him. Their “fighting” gets to the point where they start to throw stones at Jesus. Later Jesus talks to his apostles about how God can accomplish anything.
“If I glorify myself, my glory is worth nothing.” I can apply this to my life by not being boastful. Glorifying yourself is not the same when God glorifies you.I need to be humble and make sure I think of others before myself. Being full of yourself and thinking everyone else is worth less than you is not good in life. You should be humble and help others. You should care and help others more.
I think in this Scripture passage Jesus is trying to tell us that we need to trust and believe in Him. We need to do this because He has done so much for us and sacrificed His own life to save us. We need to make God the center of our lives instead of worldly things and materialistic things.
In today’s scripture Jesus is being persecuted for saying that he has seen Abraham.
This scripture reflects on me because it tells me no matter who I’m talking to, I need to keep faithful to God and trust in him in everything I do.
This tells me that God will always love you for all eternity and fight so you can be with him in heaven. To get there we need to go to confection and mass
It can be hard for us to grasp that Jesus is God and IS beyond all time. He always has been, is now, and always will be. However, we need to take a firm stance on this difficult concept. We either believe or don’t believe. I can apply this Scripture to my life by believing firmly in God.
The word of God is higher up than anything else in this world, Jesus could say anything and it would be worth more than our entire lives.
this just shows that most people doubt things without physical evidence. really we need to learn how to tell the difference in what we need to believe in and what we shouldn’t. we need to learn not every thing is science
” Amen Amen I say to you, who ever keeps my word will never see death”. These words that jesus proclaims are one of the most holy things and staying trustworthy is the key. Let God love you. He is fighting for you. This is so true! We jt can’t seem to see it with out own eyes. He has done so much for us, and all we repay him with is sin.
In this scripture passage Jesus is telling us that we need to believe in him so we can reach Heaven. It will be hard but it will be worth it.
I agree with you when you say that we need to do something Jesus like to get as close to God as we can. The good thing is though, that in our everyday life if we help with the little things, the bigger things will become easier.
Jesus is telling me that if you listen to ME and keep my word you will never die. Jesus is showing that He is the Son of God. And that God sent him to be the Messiah and give His life for us. Jesus says I Am to show that he is God and Man.
I think that today’s Gospel can teach us a lot about judgement. The Jews are judging Jesus for what he says, and they are judging him based on what they know to be true. They know Abraham died. They know all of the great prophets died, so when Jesus says to them, “whoever keeps my word will never see death,” the Jews question it. They know that Abraham and the prophets kept God’s word, yet they still died. Jesus says that he knows God, and it is through God that he is glorified. The Jews don’t know God in the same way Jesus does, yet they judge him anyway. When we judge other people, we almost never know the whole story. We are judging them based on what we know, and what we see, but we don’t know the other person’s point of view. They could be going through something at home that you have know idea about, yet you judge them anyway. So before you judge other people, you need to actually think about what that person could be going through, and ask yourself if it’s really necessary to tear them down through judgement.
Jesus doesn’t try to say what they what to hear. He doesn’t give them the usual sweet little lies they hear from every other official. He comes straight out with the truth, and they couldn’t believe the truth. Its hard for humanity to believe when they have no proof of what Jesus is saying. They throw stones at Jesus because they don’t understand him, and humans fear what they don’t understand. He did nothing but tell the truth, and they accused him of heresy.
This is telling me that we need to believe in Jesus. We can’t just partly believe. We have to trust in him fully. Pray, worship, do something that will get you closer to Jesus. Pray for Him to help you believe. Lastly, pray that this hard time will come to a good end and I pray for everyone who is suffering during this time.
The Jews call him possesed, they are not keeping the word of God. Jesus said if he says that he doesn’t know God he’ll be a liar like the jews. The moral of the story is, if you keep the word of God, you will have eternal life with Him.
What I got from this Scripture is that Jesus loves us and he’ll fight for us. There’s nothing we shall worry about because Jesus will save us.
If we stay faithful to God we will have eternal life. Even though our bodies might die, if we do God’s will and believe that He is the one true God we will live forever with Him in Heaven.
In today’s scripture Jesus was preaching to people but they wouldn’t believe him. What I can take away from this is that If you want to get into Heaven You need to believe what Jesus says. Its a perfect example of doing what is hard for you.
I think i can apply this to my life by believing in Him and having eternal life in Heaven. He is the King of Kings and we should believe he is our God.
I can use this in my daily life by as it says, let God live me. Never push him away, because all he wants is the best for us.
We need to remember to love God more than anything else if we treat everyone well and we are joyful as we do it. God will reward you for every little thing you do you do not need Earthly fame. if we tell everyone we are perfect catholic that means nothing titles mean nothing names mean nothing unless given by God.
Today in this reading God is telling me about how great life is. We often are all selfish about life and only live for ourselves when we should be living for God. God put us on this earth to spread his word and that means to spread his word and dont live for your self.
In this scripture passage Jesus almost gave his life just to preach the word. He says that whoever keeps my word will never see death. I think that death is not the death we experience as humans but death as in Hell or not living an eternal life in Heaven.
In the passage today Jesus was preaching and said who ever keeps the word of God will never die. But the Jews think that he is a liar because Abraham died along with many other prophets. But what they didn’t know was that they died physically but they are still alive spiritually. Then they start to stone him. We do the same thing that the Jews were doing but instead of throwing rocks we sin. We need to listen to the word of God, believe, and know that we will go to heaven and live forever.
Jesus puts his word above death. Jesus says He knows God much better than the Jews and they are liars if they don’t believe Him. Jesus words are either completely wrong or fully right and we have to chose which to believe.
I think that this passage means that God should be able to trust us. We need to be sure to do what God says and not lie. If He trusts us and we trust Him, we will have a healthy relationship with God.
Today Jesus is telling us to stand up for our religion. Even when he was persecuted by the Jews, Jesus continued to preach the word of God. We can thank Jesus by standing up for all his teachings today. There are a lot of people who criticize Christians even today, so we have to stand up against them.
Today Jesus say that if you are humble and don’t boast to others about your greatness you will have a great reward, but if you exult yourself and put yourself first, nothing will come of it.
i can apply this to my life by not living by the glory of my own self but by the glory of God and let his thoughts be what guides me.
Jesus now tells us that if we are good to others we will surely make it to heaven. We have to keep his Word.
I can apply this to my life by trusting that Jesus is speaking the truth and that I need to follow him and believe that he will do the right thing.
My takeaway from today’s scripture is that Jesus is who he is and to be with him do not stop believing or stop having faith or you will see death/ hell.
If we want to fulfill our ultimate goal, which is to get to heaven, then we need to spread the Word of God. We need to spread it to those who need Him the most.
This is saying that whoever puts their faith in God and trusts Him and spreads the gospel will have good in their like and will never taste death. He is saying that we will die but if we put faith in Hi everything will be okay and we will go to Heaven and rejoice and not go into the death of hell.
We should trust in God and that he is speaking truth, and we should live our lives.
Today, Jesus talks about “never seeing death.” The Jews think that He is talking about physical death, but little do they know that He speaks of our eternal life. Keeping His word will help us get to heaven.
Really all God is trying to say to us is the fact that, if we believe in God, we will go to heaven.
In today’s scripture Jesus is telling us that if we spread the word of God and get stoned for it he will protect us.
I can apply today’s scripture to my life by asking Jesus for the strength to believe that he truly is the Lord.
We must follow what Jesus tells us to do and realize that He knows everything and will help if we ask.
In this scripture passage Jesus is saying that basically if you believe in God, you will go to heaven as long as you’re not horrible on Earth.
If you believe in God/Jesus than we will never die good loves us more than anything i need to care more about him not about myself and my needs but about others.
I can apply this to my life by trusting and listening to God. We need to take time out of our days to talk, trust, and listen to him.
I can apply this to my life by listening to God, and I can also go to confession more and asking for forgiveness . I should listen to God and what He think I need to live a better life, then what I think I want to make me have a better life.
It may be difficult to realize, but God loves you and will always be there for you. We need to learn to accept him and love him too.
It may be difficult to realize, but God loves you and will always be there for you. We need to learn to accept him and love him too. He loves us unconditionally, so even if you feel as if you have no one, remember that he will always be in your corner. Even if you don’t realize it.
I think the scripture is trying to tell me whoever listens to God’s words on Earth be able to go to Heaven. Jesus gave his words to us through the Bible for us to follow. In the Bible, we find things such as The 10 Commandments or the Beatitudes that has been passed to us for us to follow. We can follow his words today by following these things.
I can apply this to my daily life by going to confession more and by not letting material things be distractions.
If we do as God tells us we will have a wonderful reward, even though it will be hard, as he tells us
In today’s scripture Jesus says, “Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever keeps my word will never see death.” First off we just have to face the awful truth, we will die. Someday we will die and there is no possibility to stop that unless there is a scientific breakthrough where there is a thing that will let you to never die, but until that happens we will die. Once that comes it will be a shame because when you would have been at peace, have eternal joy, gladness, and overall fulfillment you are still on Earth living the troublesome hard life we endure each day, fighting the devil’s temptation. But that is beyond the point. The point is in what Jesus tells us today. What he says is that whoever hears the gospel, carries out its message, follows God’s commands, and believes in Him, will still physically die, but will have eternal life with Him in Heaven.
“This is the time of fulfillment. The kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”
-Mark 1:15
Absolutely, let God love you. He is greater than any mortal man could ever be. That’s what Jesus was saying in the scripture passage: even the great patriarch of our past is not as great as God.
In can reflect on this scripture because God is telling us the only way to be saved is to believe him fully. Jesus is telling us that every man that believes in him will not taste death.
