“THEY WERE CUT TO THE HEART.” ACTS 2: 36-41
Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
On the day of Pentecost, Peter said to the Jewish people,
“Let the whole house of Israel know for certain
that God has made him both Lord and Christ,
this Jesus whom you crucified.”
Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart,
and they asked Peter and the other Apostles,
“What are we to do, my brothers?”
Peter said to them,
“Repent and be baptized, every one of you,
in the name of Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of your sins;
and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
For the promise is made to you and to your children
and to all those far off,
whomever the Lord our God will call.”
He testified with many other arguments, and was exhorting them,
“Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.”
Those who accepted his message were baptized,
and about three thousand persons were added that day. ACTS 2:36-41
Mary Magdalene stayed outside the tomb weeping.
And as she wept, she bent over into the tomb
and saw two angels in white sitting there,
one at the head and one at the feet
where the Body of Jesus had been.
And they said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?”
She said to them, “They have taken my Lord,
and I don’t know where they laid him.”
When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus there,
but did not know it was Jesus.
Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?
Whom are you looking for?”
She thought it was the gardener and said to him,
“Sir, if you carried him away,
tell me where you laid him,
and I will take him.”
Jesus said to her, “Mary!”
She turned and said to him in Hebrew, “Rabbouni,”
which means Teacher.
Jesus said to her, “Stop holding on to me,
for I have not yet ascended to the Father.
But go to my brothers and tell them,
‘I am going to my Father and your Father,
to my God and your God.’”
Mary went and announced to the disciples,
“I have seen the Lord,”
and then reported what he had told her. JN 20:11-18
“Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”-St. Peter
Jesus breathed the same Holy Spirit on Peter and the Apostles in that upper room on Pentecost as He breathed on you and me at our baptism and confirmation. We are to do all things in the name of Jesus Christ, repent (change our lives), and allow the Holy Spirit to work in our lives. What does that mean? Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you, study the fruits and gifts of the Spirit that you have been given at Baptism, look at what gaping holes you have in your life, and ask the Holy Spirit to help you in those areas as part of your daily prayer life.
The fruits of the Holy Spirit are what we should see in our lives if we are doing the will of God: joy, peace, love, kindness, gentleness, long-suffering, self control, modesty, chastity, generosity, patience, and faithfulness. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you at the beginning of each day and throughout the day. The Holy Spirit is the Advocate that Jesus gave us until His return.
Jesus says at the Last Supper in John’s Gospel, “15 “If you love me, you will keep my commandments. j16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate* to be with you always ,k17 the Spirit of truth,* which the world cannot accept, because it neither sees nor knows it. But you know it, because it remains with you, and will be in you.l”
Are you weeping because they have taken the Lord from you? Mary Magdalene is blessed to be the first to recognize that the resurrected Jesus is no longer in the tomb. She weeps. Let us rejoice and be glad by spending time with Him each day so that one day we may not be weeping in eternal life without our Lord. The Resurrection of Jesus is not one single day on the calendar but everyday of the year! -Matt Maher
Today’s challenge: Educate yourself in the YouCat or look up in the Catechism of the Catholic Church the fruits and gifts of the Holy Spirit. Start praying for the areas you need the most help in, Jesus sends us the Holy Spirit to help us know the Truths which He revealed to be passed on to each new generation. Spend time in prayer each day with our Lord remembering what He did for us.
Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and enkindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created and you shall renew the face of the earth.
Holy Spirit, please bring forth the gifts of your Spirit within me so I may do the Father’s Will and see the fruits of your Spirit in my life so that I may glorify Him.

Be a servant, become a saint!
After Jesus is resurrected, people regret not believing that He is the Son of God. They are told that as long as they repent and confess their sins, they can be forgiven.
“Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” This is nothing but the truth, I’ve recently seen a thing and it was even if you repent you will have challenge and still suffer, but the difference now is you have hope at the end and you know you’ll be fine.
“Stop holding on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and tell them.” I think what Jesus is telling us in this Gospel is that we need to not just go to mass and pray every day but go and tell others about Jesus. Jesus calls us to be missionaries so we need to listen to what he is telling us and go spread the word.
Jesus told them that He would rise on the third day and they did not listen. When we talk to Jesus we need to make sure that we are really listening to Him. Next time we pray we should let Jesus do the talking and same when we are talking to other people. We should really try to listen to what they are saying.
In this scripture passage the apostles baptize some 5 thousand people. It just goes to show Jesus and Gods power that they were able to hear them in their own native tongues and that they were able to baptize them all in one day.
Jesus rose from the dead, conquered death, and opened the gates of Heaven. There is no reason to be afraid of death anymore. Instead, we should turn our focus to living out our lives the way God wants us to. By listening to Him and following his way, we are now able to rejoice for all of eternity in Heaven. Sin has no more hold on us. Rejoice and spend time with God who gave up His life for our sake.
“Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” This statement stuck out to me a lot while I was reading the scripture passage today. The main message I am taking from this is that our world is so broken, now, day in age. We have to do what is right even if the world/friends aren´t. It is so hard to do it with all the social media and phones now a day, but we have to work for it and it will truly pay off some day. Jesus will help us through it all if we ask Him. During this time, try to say or post more positive things on our phones. Be the light in someones darkness.
IN today’s reading it says, “Repent and be Baptized.” I feel like we’ve heard that exact line a lot of times because being Baptized washes away all of our sin and gives us a new start. It opens our eyes to see Jesus in a new way, Just as Mary saw him as the gardener at first.
At first Mary didn’t realize that the man outside the tomb was Jesus. Jesus is always present. Sometimes we don’t realize He is. We should find Jesus in the little things. When something good happens to us, we should think about Jesus and thank Him for all the things He has given us.
Jesus has risen! Alleluia! Mary Magdalene didn’t know that it was Jesus outside the tomb. She only thought he was the gardener of the garden but he opened her eyes and she saw that it was the Lord. This is similar to everyday life. We are blind to the works of Jesus until he opens our eyes to see all he has done. Sometimes we still don’t see because we are blinded by our own sin and that is our choice on whether to see him or not.
The Holy Spirit is here to guide us through sin. God sent the Holy Spirit to teach us how to love each other and praise God. The Holy Spirit is here to help you with all of your problems, and to turn you to God. The Holy Spirit is calling out to you, you just have to listen. You just have to spend that little bit of time talking and listening to Jesus. Once you choose to listen to Him, you are one step closer to heaven.
Mary Magdalene wept when she saw that Jesus was no longer in the tomb, and rejoiced when she recognized Jesus and realized He had risen from the dead, which is what we should all do. We should all rejoice in the fact that Our Lord is risen.
Jesus wanted us to be baptized so we can be cleaned of our original sin, and spend life everlasting in heaven with him and praise him. He wants us to trust in him. we need to ask the Holy Spirit to guide us in our lives and show us the way of the lord
This reading teaches us that we should repent and come to Jesus. Jesus’ mercy is far greater than any of our sins. We should accept the Holy Spirit into our lives and hearts. In this Gospel, Jesus calls Mary by name. Jesus is always with us but sometimes we do know that. He calls each and everyone of us to Him and invites us to Himself.
A phrase that stuck out to me was “What are we to do, my brothers? I like this phrase because peter was like the leader of the group after Jesus died and that he need to help his brothers get to heaven now that Jesus was risen. So Peter just said Repent and be baptized. The phrase means that we need to repent and baptized and that we need to keep going to confession and stay holy.
What reached out to me was how three thousand Jewish people converted. They were able to see what was right, and they were able to do what was right. We should try to do what is right just like they did.
She said to them, “They have taken my Lord, and I don’t know where they laid him.” When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus there, but did not know it was Jesus. Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you looking for?” She thought it was the gardener and said to him, “Sir, if you carried him away, tell me where you laid him, and I will take him.” Mary was so worried about Jesus that she didn’t even notice who she was talking to. This shows the love she had for Jesus and the worry of what happened at the cross. It’s understandable why she is so worried thought imagine if our teacher or friend died a horrific death for you
Jesus said to her, “Stop holding on to me,
for I have not yet ascended to the Father.
I think that this means that they are holding him to tightly, the world is trying to tighten their grip on him. he cannot go to heaven until they let go.
Jesus is alive. He opened the gates of Heaven for us. We have no reason to be afaid of death. Yes, we can be sad, but we must also rejoice. We are going to live eternally for ever with Jesus Christ in perfect harmony and joy. And the Holy Spirit is with us now on earth guiding us.
in the scriptures today, Jesus has risen from the dead but before he ascends to Heaven, he stops to comfort one person. Jesus said to her, “Mary!” She turned and said to him in Hebrew, “Rabbouni,” which means Teacher. Jesus said to her, “Stop holding on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father.” He comforted her in her hard times and he will comfort us when we need it the most.
Today’s scripture we learn Jesus has risen from the dead, this is really making the jews mad proving he is the Son of God. When he resurrected he turned into the Holy Spirit and appeared to the women that were following him his whole life. The reason why I find this appealing is because He was in heaven, then went to earth, TO SAVE US FROM SIN, then turned into the Holy Ghost it’s just crazy! My favorite part of scripture was, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you,
in the name of Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of your sins;
and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
For the promise is made to you and to your children
and to all those far off,
whomever the Lord our God will call”
The Holy spirit is more helpful than we think. If you see a part in your life that you are struggling in then you should call on the holy spirit. And then look at the good things in life, instead of focusing on all the bad things just flip it around.
In the scripture I think that it’s saying that Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and didn’t see Jesus there, and was scared at first but then she saw Jesus and was happy that he rose from the dead.
When we are baptized we are branded with Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit flows through us like a river. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit that flows through the Apostles at Pentecost and flows through all of us today. When we are at Mass the Holy Spirit comes down into the bread and wine, making it The Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. So we need to have faith not only in the Father and the Son but also in the Holy Spirit.
“Repent and be baptized, every one of you,
in the name of Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of your sins;
and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
“Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.”
Those who accepted his message were baptized,
and about three thousand persons were added that day.
what stuck out to me “Jesus breathed the same Holy Spirit on Peter and the Apostles in that upper room on Pentecost as He breathed on you and me at our baptism and confirmation.” it meant a lot and proves that he loves all equally because its in his fathers imagine and his. “The fruits of the holy spirit are what we should see in our lives.” Meaning we should live in his likeness and imagine. If we’re gonna see the Holy trinity in heaven we might as well spend time with them on Earth.
The thing that stuck out to me was that Jesus said your God and my God. I think this means that he forgives us and that now since Jesus saved us we can all live together in eternal happiness. Jesus is making it known that Jesus died for us. He died and rose again on the third day for us. For us out of an enormous supply of love. Can you imagine the love the love that we expirence at mass whenever we take his precious body and blood.
The Holy spirit was here with Jesus when he was on earth and the Holy spirit is still with us also. We need to turn towards the Holy spirit more often in our lives. The Holy Spirit is always here to help us in our lives with anything that we need we just need to step out to the Holy spirit and listen to It Once we do that we grow so much in our faith.
Today Jesus tells us that we don’t have to fear death anymore because Jesus is risen and that he will raise us as well. Peter also tells us to repent and to let God take over our lives.
For ours sins we need to repent and be sorry for them give yourself to God completely and we will spend internal life with him. He suffered for us the sins that we haven’t even committed yet he died for us when we weren’t even alive. Your actions will effect the rest of internity not just the time here on earth.
Jesus rose from the dead and exited the tomb. Mary Magdalene wanted to visit Jesus and spoke to a man. Little did she know Jesus was the man. This shows that Jesus is so heavenly and holy but he can also be just like us.
But go to my brothers and tell them.
Jesus wanted His brothers, to know that He has risen. We need to keep Jesus close, in our hearts, and keep praying to Him, and with Him. Jesus is with us in everything we do, we just need to keep him in our hearts.
Jesus had told the disciples that on the third day he would rise, they did not listen to him,but mary magdalene did not give up faith and went to the tomb asking and asking “Where is he?”,she turned around, and saw him,he had her go to tell the others.
What stuck out to me was that Jesus breathed the same Holy Spirit on Peter and the Apostles in that upper room on Pentecost as He breathed on you and me at our baptism and confirmation. This stuck out to me because i realized that i need to talk to Jesus more and i need to get into my faith more
That it is the resurrection and death of Jesus in the reading and the gospel today
Jesus didnt have to sacrafice himself on the cross, but he chose to obey his father because he loved us so much. Then he rose from the dead to reassure us that he will come to save us.
“Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” This is telling us that if we did not believe in Jesus, repent and welcome him into our lives.
In both the reading and the Gospel today it all shows how God changes people through him. As an example, in the reading because Peter shared the Word of God 300 people were baptized. God can change people’s opinion so fast it’s crazy. We should follow him in every step of the way to Heaven.
“Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
I think this tells us we receive God’s grace when we receive the sacraments. A thing that stuck out to me was that many people did not believe Jesus then he rose from the dead.
What stuck out to me was when Jesus said “Stop holding on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and tell them.” This stuck out to me because He is telling us that we cant just listen to Jesus and go to Mass, we need to spread the word and help others get to Heaven not just ourselves.
We all have the same holy spirit. There isn’t one that Jesus gave to the apostles and one he gave to you. We all have the same Holy spirit that leads us to Jesus. In the scripture, Peter tells us that we must be baptized and repent to enter into the kingdom of God. That why we have confession. So we can repent and be healed. Jesus died and rose so we defeated death. We can enter through the gates of heaven now. All we have to do is repent and be baptized in Jesus name.
This reading teaches us that we should repent and come to Jesus, and accept the Holy Spirit into our lives. Jesus is always with us but sometimes we don’t understand that. When He calls us we should listen.
In today’s scripture Jesus is resurrected and he sees Mary Magdalene weeping outside his tomb and when she sees him she thinks he’s the gardener and asks where they put Jesus and then Jesus reveals himself to her. Just like Mary Magdalene we may not see that Jesus is risen from the dead but eventually he will reveal himself to us showing that he is with us
We are meant to do everything for Jesus Christ, and to have the Holy Spirit guide us at the beginning, middle, and all throughout the day.we have to let the Holy Spirit work in our lives. Start praying for the thing we need most help in, Jesus sends us the Holy Spirit to help us know the truth.
We are to do all things in the name of Jesus and allow the Holy Spirit that we received at Baptism to work in our lives. We need to ask the holy spirit to guide us in all that we do. If we don’t listen to the Holy Spirit then it won’t guide us. Jesus gave us the Holy Spirit as the Advocate until He returns.
Jesus told Mary to not be afraid for I am going to my Father. That is what Jesus told her. Jesus was there to comfort Mary because she was crying. Instead of hurrying up to Heaven He wanted to stay and help her. Jesus cares about you more than you realize. He is always there for you in good and in bad times. He loves you so much He died for YOU.
what i think this scripture passage means is how jesus gave us his life, how we will always be loved and never be alone we just have to accept and trust in him just like mary magdelen did, jesus told the disiples he would rise again on the third day, the disiples did not believe it however mary magdelen had trust in him and when she went to the tomb on the third day she turned around to see them and jesus told her to tell the others, so she did. we always need to keep our trust in god and let him lead us to where he wants us. not everyone will be called to be parents, not everyone will be called to be preists, not everyone will be called to be a nun. however we are all called to spread the gospel and teach the way of god and be a disiple. God loves you!!!
At first Mary didn’t recognize Him but after He spoke to her she knew it was Jesus. We also should recognize Jesus through prayer. We should create a relationship with Him and know who He is. He knows us and how we are going to be happy and what our will is.
In today´s homily at church, something stuck out to me. What stuck out to me was that God died for us so that we wouldn´t have to be anxious. I always feel like I have to be perfect for God and always have to go to church and just…it´s a lot! But just knowing that God made so that I could love him in MY OWN WAY is comforting. I feel like sometimes I push myself too hard, and don´t even notice how hard I have tried and how far I have gotten. Anyone who is reading this needs to know this: God didn´t make you to be perfect, he made you to be the way you are and to love Him YOUR WAY.
Jesus has rose from the dead and she rejoiced for he has risen! When he rises we sing hallelujah and rejoice that he is here.
We can always come back. No matter how hopeless we think we are, Jesus is always there for us. We can always go to Him. It is never too late.
I think that this scripture is saying that God sent us the Holy Spirit to guide us to Heaven. He sent the Holy spirit into our lives so that we stay on the right path of life that God has designed for us. We all want to make it to Heaven and the Holy Spirit will help keep us on the right track so we can make it there and live eternal life with God.
I think this scripture is about how human Jesus was. He was someone who could easily be overlooked. Even Mary Magdalene did not recognize him at first. Jesus is God in human form. After he resurrected he was still in a human body.
what the scripture is telling me is that jesus is still alive through us because he have His word to peter who gave the word to others and baptised 3000 people in one day. The pope today is like peter and is giving His word through him to other people. Jesus died for our sins and is now still alive with us today.
“For the forgiveness of your sins.” This stood out to me because Jesus died for us so that our sins are forgiven. God loves us and He will always forgive us. He is always there when we need Him. He died just for us. There is no one else in the world who would die for every single person on the Earth. His love is so great.
This scripture is telling us that God loves us. He sent his only son Jesus to save us. Jesus saved us from sin because he loved us. God will do anything for us and he wants to help us get to heaven.
Jesus is telling us to repent and believe in Him, and we will be saved. He literally tells us that, yet we still ignore it. We need to prepare ourselves for judgement day.
Jesus chose Mary Magdalene as the first person he appeared to after he resurrected. I think he did this because Mary Magdalene was a sinner and she came to Jesus wanting to be clean. i think that there is something in that, that we can all see in ourselves.
When Jesus told everyone that He would rise from the dead, nobody believed Him. We need to have faith in God and trust Him. Any time we need something, God will always be there to listen to what we have to say and to help us. God is always with us even when we don’t feel like He is. He is always watching us and willing to give us guidance.
Mary Magdalene was weeping over the loss of Jesus. She doesn’t know that Jesus has arisen until he tells her and she goes and spreads the word. Jesus will come to save us again, so we should be ready. Mary Magdalene was waiting for Jesus because she loves him. This is the same for us and Jesus.
He has risen. He is powerful and almighty. He died under all the weight of our sins and He still rose again. It is important to be grateful for what Jesus did for us and to love Him, because we will see Him again on judgement day and when we go to Heaven. He fulfilled His duty that His Father, God, gave Him. Just as He told us when He was still alive. Now He is alive again.
Spread the word of God. We are baptized with the Holy Spirit and we should spread that good news. We should also spread the good news that Jesus is alive. Jesus is in us but we have to accept that. We have to believe in Him and we have to spread the word about Him to the world around us.
‘I am going to my Father and your Father,
to my God and your God.’” Jesus is telling us that Jesus’ Father is God and God is also our father. And we will see our father in Heaven with Jesus.
“Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” this is a great message for today´s society. with a world so set on destroying itself we need someone to lead us out of the darkness and set a great example for us to follow by. Jesus was the first to do this and there are a few people astray from the path and our goal as disciples of God is to lead them the correct path and help them reach eternal happiness with God in heaven. be the leader and the person God wants you to be, that is the mission god sent you down to carry out.
And they said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, “They have taken my Lord, and I don’t know where they laid him.” When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus there, but did not know it was Jesus. Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you looking for?” She thought it was the gardener and said to him, “Sir, if you carried him away, tell me where you laid him, and I will take him.” Jesus said to her, “Mary!” She turned and said to him in Hebrew, “Rabbouni,” which means Teacher. Jesus said to her, “Stop holding on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am going to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” Even though Jesus is in Heaven, He is always with us. You can ask Him anything at anytime and He is there. He waits for us every night and still keeps waiting. He loves us so much and has so much patience. He is never gone even when He died he was never gone.
“Let the whole house of Israel know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.” Two days ago Jesus rose from the dead. Which is a very big deal. It’s when he died for our sins and showed everyone that he is the true messiah. They cussed at him spit at him and said every everything horrible that you could think of right before he died. But its so important because he proved everyone that hated him wrong by rising from the dead.
Peter says to repent and be baptized. Even Peter, the one who denied Christ, is saying that he knows God will forgive you. Mary didn’t see Jesus the way she saw him before. She thought he was the gardener. Sometimes Christ is right in front of us and we don’t recognize him, or we don’t put effort into trying to see him. We can pray to him to really see and know him when we struggle.
Jesus has risen! Jesus has done what he said he was going to do. My favorite line in this scripture is when it said “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Now that they all believe the ones that didn’t are guilty.
This Scripture is talking about when Mary Magdalene went to the tomb of Jesus and she found out that he was not there and she then ran into him which i think it symbolizes how anything is possible when you are on the side of Jesus and how good all the things that he does are good for our soul
In today’s reading it says, “Repent and be Baptized.” I feel like we’ve heard that exact line a lot of times because being Baptized washes away all of our sin and gives us a new start.
“Why are you weeping?” Just as Jesus asked Mary why she was crying, he asks us the same question. Why are we crying. What makes us sad. Is it a loved one’s death or a friend’s betrayal. He tells us not to cry, he is there with us. He is here in our darkest hour, when we need him most. He is here.
Jesus did something that I could never do. Yes I could never be brave enough to die on the cross, but the big thing is He forgave those who crucified Him. Everybody holds grudges, whether it’s something super small or something really big. If I were Jesus, I would hate those who sent me to be crucified. Jesus is the bravest person I know. We should all want to be like Him.
Jesus died on that cross with all of the weight of our sins on His back. He rose again so we can rise up to Heaven once we pass away. Jesus did this for us. Jesus saved us from our sins so we could live a holy life remembering Him and praying to Him. We need to remember that when we think of doing the wrong thing to think of how He died for us and how we need to carry out His will to the rest of the world.
Jesus may have been right in front of her but she did not recognize him right away. We have to learn to recognize God and rejoice since He rose from the dead. He died for our sins, but also to teach us about God. We have to share the good news of not only Him rising, but of what we will get (heaven) because of it.
The Scripture today I think is telling me about the Holy Spirit. When we were baptized that was when original sin got wiped off and when we received the Gift of The Holy Spirit. We are guided by the Holy Spirit and follow the Holy Spirit to become more like Jesus and be nice and responsible for ourselves and know the good and bad things that we do in our life.
The power Peter had at this moment was incredible. With just a couple of sentences, he converted 3,000 people to Catholic faith, which is insane. I also found sort of funny in a way how Jesus sort of tricked Mary Magdalene, just a little prank before the big reveal.
We are all blessed with the same Holy Spirit at Baptism and Confirmation. We are blessed with the same things as Jesus, thus we should act and love like Jesus. He is always waiting for us, and is always loving us, yet we still ignore him and fall into temptation. We must prepare ourselves for when we are face to face with Jesus once we die.
It is said that when Jesus died for us so our sins can be forgiven. Jesus gave us the gift of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is here to help us go to heaven.
I think the scripture is saying when we were baptized we were filled with the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit is here in all of us to guide us back to the Lord and help us reach Heaven. When the people of Jerusalem after Jesus died went to Peter to ask what to do now that their Teacher was crucified, all Peter said was to repent and be baptized. That is what we all should do for our sins, hurts, and whenever we need guidance, because the Lord, God, and the Holy Spirit are there for us to repent to.
God’s words move through people. “Repent and be baptized, every one of you,in the name of Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of your sins;
and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Peter said these words, and 3,000 people were baptized that day. That is insane! 3,000 in a week would even be a lot but having 3,000 people being baptized in a day is amazing.
A part that stuck out to me was the fact that the apostles baptized a ton of people and had a lot of people repent. Jesus dies for them, He took away death by dying so that we may have eternal life. We don’t need to be scared of Him, since He gave up His life for us. We now need to do our part and repent for Him.

I think the Scripture is saying when we were baptized we were made a child of God. Our original sin was washed away. Baptism is one of the most important sacraments we can receive.
Baptism is super important. If you are like me you think that baptism just is something that is expected of you to do when you are younger. Baptism is not just another thing you are forced to do when you are younger, it is the most important thing you will do when you are an infant. The Holy spirit is breathed on you during your baptism. No matter how strong you are, you are nothing compared to the Holy Spirit, and of you have the Holy Spirit you are unstoppable.
I think what sticks out to me isn’t so much a verse, but Peter’s transformation. The last scripture reflection I did here was about Peter refusing Jesus to wash his feet. Just from that, you can see a difference in how much his Faith had changed. So what does this mean for us? It means, like Peter, we can have the audacity to show the world the power of Christ’s Resurrection. This doesn’t necessarily mean we are all going to be like Peter and be preaching on the streets. That may not have been a charism you were given. God gave you the gifts and talents you need to spread the joys of the Resurrection in your own unique way. But no matter what gifts you HAVE been given, we can look to Peter for inspiration when we are beginning our journey to bring the Faith to others.
I think Jesus is telling us that he is always there for us and never leaves our side and even when we are at our lowest we can call to him and he will answer and talk to you and you can talk to him. Mary ran to the tomb and weeped because his body was gone and then he appeared to her and talked to her as I just said he would
We are to do all things in the name of Jesus Christ, repent , and allow the Holy Spirit to work in our lives.
When we sin it’s not good for us. But we can always fix things by going to confession. In some ways it’s kinda like saying you’re sorry and asking if you are forgiven by God. We should always repent and truly be sorry for our sins because no one likes a forced apology.
Jesus rose from the dead and exited the tomb to be with us our whole life. Mary Magdalene wanted to visit Jesus and speak to a man. Little did she know Jesus was the man that she had spoken to. This shows that Jesus is so heavenly and holy but he can also be just like us in many different ways that we just can’t see.
“Save yourselves from this” i think we just need to realize that were doing something and dont justify it wrongly, like a bad sin, justifying it will only make it worse so we need to realize that and confess God.
Jesus knows every one of us so well more than we know about ourselves. He died on the cross for every one of us he didnt have to but he did. That is the greatest love story of all time. God loved us so very much he sent his only son for us. And we sin every single day and He still loves us no matter what we do he will never not love us.
“Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand persons were added that day. This stuck out to be because we can’t drift away from God in this generation. We need him to guide us the right way and to do the right things. If we drift away we will get lost and forget about what God has done for us.
Today, the Pharisees realize that Jesus was the Christ and Messiah. Peter says to them that they need to repent and believe in the Gospel, and in doing so, he teaches us that God will forgive any sin, in we are contrite. No sin is too big, too grave that Jesus cannot save us from it. We simply need to ask for his forgiveness, and embrace the love of God that he is trying to give to us.
Jesus said to her, “Stop holding on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and tell them.” This stuck out to me because we love Jesus but we keep Him to ourselves most of the time. Just like Mary was “holding” onto Jesus. She needed to “let go” and go tell others about Him. Jesus wants us to spread His word to everyone, not just keep it to ourselves.
We are to do all things in the name of Jesus Christ, repent (change our lives), and allow the Holy Spirit to work in our lives. This makes us think He wants us to do everything in His name and how many people actually do it lets think it is probably around 44.3% to 50% of people and that is just what He is asking for and we can’t do it is sad and He died for us and we can’t do everything in His name Jesus Christ. He is the lover of everyone. He will let us live through him. He loves us and we will want to be doing everything through Him.
“Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” God died for us. He rose from the dead for us. He did everything for us. God gave us the gift of his son to save us and after that he gave us the gift of his grace. We receive the Holy Spirit when we are confirmed, and we are given the fruits. We are given the fruits of the Holy Spirit to help us, so when you need help, ask for help. “Ask and you shall receive,” God wants us to ask for help, he wants to help us, but we have to willingly accept him.
“Stop holding on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father.” we were completely oblivious when we killed Jesus that we had just killed the one being who could wholly exist as a human and a divine. we killed the son of both God and man. there is no way to completely pay for OUR blasphemy, not Jesus’.
Even after Jesus’s death he still wanted to make sure that his disciples and Mary did not feel pain when they did not find him in the tomb. This is a true act of love from him, it shows us how much he loves his disciples and makes them feel more safe. Jesus couldve just went up to the right hand of his father and left the apostles wondering where his body went but he made them know he was okay and he had truly risen.
We don’t always realize Jesus is present everywhere kind of like Mary didn’t realize Jesus was the man at the tomb. So whenever we do something wrong just remember Jesus is right there and you can pray Him that you an stop doing that.
What we got when we were younger is baptism and confirmation but we don’t always use those gifts everyday. What we need to do is change our lives and let the Holy Spirit work through us then kicking the Holy Spirit to the side and never thinking about him in our day to day lives.
I couldn’t find a whole lot that stuck out to me this time but I like what Peter said. I am also looking forward to today’s challenge and am looking forward to improving myself with the gifts, and fruits of the holy spirit.
“On the day of Pentecost, Peter said to the Jewish people,
“Let the whole house of Israel know for certain
that God has made him both Lord and Christ,
this Jesus whom you crucified.”
This line stuck out to me because, the Jews had crucified Jesus and believed that He was a prophet. When Jesus’ disciples said those words, they were “…cut to the heart.” because Jesus was God and they crucified Him and didn’t believe that He was God.
What stuck out to me was that Jesus said “stop holding on to me”, to Mary Magdalene. This stuck out to me because I hold on to a lot of things because they mean so much but what I think Jesus is saying is that it’s okay and that he’s always there for you.
“Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” I think that today’s scripture really focuses on how much love Jesus had for the world. He went through tons and tons of pain just so we could live happy and healthy. Sometimes I feel like we don’t give Christ all of our love and attention. No matter what He will always accept us for we are His children.
This scripture is about Pentecost and the Resurrection. Pentecost when tongues of fire appeared over the Apostles’ heads. The Resurrection is when Jesus rose from the dead. These 2 scriptures are talked about in one because they both link together. The Resurrection and Pentecost are both linked to The Ascension of Jesus.
“Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The holy spirit was talking through Peter. The holy spirit was moving in him ever since the ressurection.
We were all baptized at birth or at some point in our life. That is an important part of our life. It is when the Holy Spirit came to us to help guide us on our path to heaven. We were brought into the church and now Jesus watches over us as our perfect and true God.
repent sin and be with Jesus be baptized and you took your first step with Jesus. Find your way and you path don’t let go of what you love hold it close instead and find out what you are doing with your life so you know how to succeed.
that jesus die for us and gave us a free new start
4/11/23 Jesus wanted us to be baptized so we can be cleaned of our original sin, and spend life in Heaven with him and praise him. He wants us to trust in him. We need to ask the Holy Spirit to guide us in our lives and show us the way of the Lord.
