“THEN HE OPENED THEIR MINDS TO UNDERSTAND THE SCRIPTURES.” LK 24:35-48
Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
As the crippled man who had been cured clung to Peter and John,
all the people hurried in amazement toward them
in the portico called “Solomon’s Portico.”
When Peter saw this, he addressed the people,
“You children of Israel, why are you amazed at this,
and why do you look so intently at us
as if we had made him walk by our own power or piety?
The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob,
the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus
whom you handed over and denied in Pilate’s presence,
when he had decided to release him.
You denied the Holy and Righteous One
and asked that a murderer be released to you.
The author of life you put to death,
but God raised him from the dead; of this we are witnesses.
And by faith in his name,
this man, whom you see and know, his name has made strong,
and the faith that comes through it
has given him this perfect health,
in the presence of all of you.
Now I know, brothers and sisters,
that you acted out of ignorance, just as your leaders did;
but God has thus brought to fulfillment
what he had announced beforehand
through the mouth of all the prophets,
that his Christ would suffer.
Repent, therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be wiped away,
and that the Lord may grant you times of refreshment
and send you the Christ already appointed for you, Jesus,
whom heaven must receive until the times of universal restoration
of which God spoke through the mouth
of his holy prophets from of old.
For Moses said:
A prophet like me will the Lord, your God, raise up for you
from among your own kin;
to him you shall listen in all that he may say to you.
Everyone who does not listen to that prophet
will be cut off from the people.
“Moreover, all the prophets who spoke,
from Samuel and those afterwards, also announced these days.
You are the children of the prophets
and of the covenant that God made with your ancestors
when he said to Abraham,
In your offspring all the families of the earth shall be blessed.
For you first, God raised up his servant and sent him to bless you
by turning each of you from your evil ways.” Acts 3:11-26
I love the Acts of the Apostles. It teaches us how everything comes together and Jesus fulfilled His mission. Most importantly, we are winners in this mission if we choose it. The Acts of the Apostles increases my faith and helps me understand my faith, “You denied the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be released to you. The author of life you put to death, but God raised him from the dead; of this we are witnesses. And by faith in his name, this man, whom you see and know, his name has made strong, and the faith that comes through it has given him this perfect health, in the presence of all of you.”
Christianity is an Apostolic faith with eyewitnesses and some of the oldest documentation of early civilizations. Christians use science, technology, medicine, history, anthropology, archaeology and the most educated scholars to prove something natural has not occurred, making something a supernatural cause, a miracle.
Has your faith increased in the last 40 days? Why or why not? Now that the Scriptures have been fulfilled, do we still act out of ignorance? (Sometimes, but improving) What are we doing to continue to educate ourselves about Jesus and get to know Him better? We cannot give up our lives or worship someone we do not know or understand. Keep learning, be a sponge and soak up all that God wants you to know about Him.
The disciples of Jesus recounted what had taken place along the way,
and how they had come to recognize him in the breaking of bread.
While they were still speaking about this,
he stood in their midst and said to them,
“Peace be with you.”
But they were startled and terrified
and thought that they were seeing a ghost.
Then he said to them, “Why are you troubled?
And why do questions arise in your hearts?
Look at my hands and my feet, that it is I myself.
Touch me and see, because a ghost does not have flesh and bones
as you can see I have.”
And as he said this,
he showed them his hands and his feet.
While they were still incredulous for joy and were amazed,
he asked them, “Have you anything here to eat?”
They gave him a piece of baked fish;
he took it and ate it in front of them.
He said to them,
“These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you,
that everything written about me in the law of Moses
and in the prophets and psalms must be fulfilled.”
Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures.
And he said to them,
“Thus it is written that the Christ would suffer
and rise from the dead on the third day
and that repentance, for the forgiveness of sins,
would be preached in his name
to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.
You are witnesses of these things.” LK 24:35-48
Jesus appears to the Apostles with the words, “Peace be with you.” We just killed Him with our sins and the first thing He says is peace be with you! Who would ever do this? God has infinite radical love for His creation. His mercy is bigger than the ocean that makes our sins look very small. All He asks of us is to come to Him, repent (change our lives by changing our thinking), and show this love and mercy towards others. He then goes on to show the Apostles His glorified body, eats a piece of fish, and confirms He is not a ghost. This is why we believe we will have a glorified body after the Second Coming, Jesus does.
What is so important about these Resurrection stories? Jesus Christ is who He says He is and it solidifies everything He has said and done. “He is either God or a very bad man” says Bishop Robert Barron. Second, there are many witnesses of these things and over 100 prophecies fulfilled by Him.
We have no physical or scientific proof that Jesus resurrected (except the Shroud of Turin if it is the burial cloth of Christ), but in Luke’s Gospel today we have witnesses who wrote about Him. Read it slowly. It contains the summary of the whole Bible and everything we need to know to believe, be saved, and get to our heavenly home; the heart’s deepest longing.
Today’s challenge: Read and believe, our minds have been open to the Scriptures through the power of the Holy Spirit in Baptism and Confirmation to help us understand and increase our faith. Live it through your actions, repent and begin to change daily habits.
Be a servant, become a saint!
#Christian YOLO
Jesus Christ has risen, Alleluia! Do you believe?
that jesuse gave up ihis one live and gave it to us
We are not stuck in the Passion. A lot of times we say that we aren’t holy enough or that we will just keep sinning. We must remember that Christ rose from the dead and ascended into Heaven so that we might be saved. It doesn’t matter if you’ve sinned fifteen thousand times over, He will always love and always forgive you. Never stop going to confession or to Mass because you sinned, instead, persist in going to confession and Mass so that you might be saved. Always love and never give up.
“THEN HE OPENED THEIR MINDS TO UNDERSTAND THE SCRIPTURES.” This stood out to me right as I saw it today. I feel like it is telling me that we have to open up ourselves to God to actually understand because he will help us. Sometimes scriptures can be hard to interpret but open you heart up and let Jesus guide you to the right path. It can be very hard at times to open ourselves up but keep coming back to Him every time. We need to try and practice this today and even going forth. Don´t fear, the Lord is always near.
In today’s scripture I feel that it is trying to tell us that we need to work on turning away sin. He knows that it is hard because Jesus had turned it away His whole life. I think what will help us stay strong is thinking of what kept Jesus going. Maybe if we hold onto Heaven in the distance we might sin less. Just keep in mind the reward we will get if you try to live a holy life.
Jesus has infinite mercy. He died because of us but still wishes happiness for us. We are human and have our faults and when someone wrongs us we hold grudges. We should take God’s lead and strive to be like him in every way we can. If we get upset at something we should just let it go and move on. Follow God’s lead and grow in holiness.
I think this Gospel just amazes me Jesus had just been hung on a cross and dead for three days and he just walks into the room the Apostles were in and just acts like it’s another day with them. I think this is showing the friendship Jesus had with his Apostles while they are like freaking out about him being dead he just shows up and is like got any food. I think this is how close we should be with all of our friends.
In today’s reading “The author of life you put to death” stuck out to me because its a way to look at God that I’ve never thought about. A lot of then time I see God is almighty and feel like he has little to do with my life. But he guides me to the happiness and joys through out the day. Which as means I have free will so i also have to choose the right path.
As the crippled man who had been cured clung to Peter and John, all the people hurried in amazement toward them in the portico called “Solomon’s Portico.” When Peter saw this, he addressed the people, “You children of Israel, why are you amazed at this, and why do you look so intently at us as if we had made him walk by our own power or piety? Peter is telling them why are you amazed by this when you’ve seen/heard of this before connecting to Jesus. He tells them I did not do this with my own power but by asking for the intervention of God I have healed him not by my own grace.
Jesus has infinite mercy. He died because of us, but still wishes happiness for us. We are human and have our faults and when someone wrongs us we hold grudges. We should take God’s lead and strive to be like him in every way we can. If we get upset at something we should just let it go and move on. Follow God’s lead and grow in holiness.
After Jesus rose from the dead, so many miracles happened. Repent, therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be wiped away. Jesus had so much going on yet He never stopped caring for us, we need to be more grateful.
A phrase that stuck out to me was Everyone who does not listen to that prophet will be cut off from the people. I like this phrase because it means that if you listen to the prophets you will not be cut off from the people. This phrase means to me that If we don’t listen to them we listen to God and we will have his eternal life with all the saints and angels.
“Why do you look so intently at us as if we had made him walk by our own power?” All the good we do is because God loves us and gives us the ability to love others. If God didn’t love us, we wouldn’t even exist. We exist to love God and others. God created us and we wouldn’t be here without us.
In today’s scripture reflection Jesus is telling us that he is the one who is doing this great abundance of work through Peter and guiding him through his troubles. Peter told everyone that it wasn’t the work of him it was the work of God. God is great and can do so many things for us and he loves us and died for our sins on the cross and will never stop being here for us.
Learn to not just open your mind, but your hearts to the scriptures. Begin to put yourself into a state of deep prayer. The scriptures are not word of man, but are the word of God passed down through the Apostles. Think of the scriptures like God is speaking to you. Think that he is telling you his love story. God the Father loves us so much that he is speaking his word to us. He wants us to listen, and we can choose to.
The Holy Spirit acts through us in every holy thing we do. When we practice patience, gratitude, compassion, love, etc., we are doing that through God.
In the reading, we are taught to repent. In the Gospel, Jesus appears to the disciples and asks for food. They gave Him a baked fish and He ate it. This is important because this shows that Jesus is both a true God and true Man. He rose from the dead and conquered sin which shows His divine side and He still eats the food that we eat.
We killed Jesus, and when He returned to us, the first thing He said was “Peace Be With You.” Our God is so merciful and forgiving that He forgave us immediately after we killed Him. That is how much our God loves us.
In today’s scripture they talk about how Jesus met his disciples and ate fish with them and made them realize how he fulfilled the scripture.
What reached out to me was, “The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus” What this means to me is that Jesus was sent down to us for a reason. He didn’t come to us just because He could, He came down to save us.
Today’s scripture we learn, Jesus died for us he loves us that much. We sin 200-100,000,000 in our life which is unbelievable how much we truly sin (If you live a full life). But, no matter what he still loves us even if we don’t love him he still loves us. I find this amazing for what all he’s done for us we could never repay him.
what struck me was that they did not try and take any responsibility for healing that man. they gave all credit to god.
The thing that stuck out to me was that Jesus forgives. He forgave us after we killed him. After we denied him. After we didn’t pray. He came back for us. God is our rock. We have to trust in him and give him our sins.
In the scripture they say that Jesus first met the 12 disciples and took them out of the lake to get fish for food. Then how much God loves us too. And that the Holy Spirit acts and goes through us.
Jesus in never gonna stop trying to be with us. Jesus loves us and is always trying to save us. We need to put away all distraction and pay more attention to Jesus and all he did for us.
God only has love for us, there is absolutely no bit of hate in Him towards us. Even after we crucified Him He came back with love and forgiveness and even said “Peace be with you”. Anyone else would be trying to get revenge and really hate these people or this person but He never did that. This just means that his forgiveness is larger than a literal universe, even though we don’t know for a fact that he resurrected and even did all of this but we are pretty sure, that is why faith is a thing.
in this scripture something that really stuck out to me was how forgiving jesus is we crusified him to the cross and he came back to us with love and peace. he is all loving, he has no hate in his heart but all love, there is no greater love than his. w
Jesus died for our sins just for us to live and be able to know about him and be able to live eternally with him and his father. Jesus has infinite mercy and we tend to take that for granted and not really pay attention to it. We need to open our minds to Gods word more often instead of hearing it then forgetting it because we are out of religion class or out of church. We take it so for granted and we need to change that.
What stuck out to me was “You children of Israel, why are you amazed at this, and why do you look so intently at us as if we had made him walk by our own power or piety?” They apostles recognize that it’s not them that healed the man but it was God. another phrase that stuck out to me was “Then he opened their minds to understand the scripture.” When I read it I thought about how we’ve been trying to do that all year. How we’ve been trying to understand and listen to what God is calling us to do.
God died for us on the cross we are not to unholy to give our sins to him he wants all of our pain and sufferings he wants our souls and he died for us so if we can’t give him our love then who are we if we don’t speak to him, or have a relationship where will we spend our internity, on the cross he wasn’t thirsty for a drink we was thirsty for us and our souls our ways.
The Apostles got the power of Jesus on the Pentecost. They use that power to do just as Jesus did. If we use the power that Jesus gave us for good and to spread the Holy, Sacred word of God, then we will surely get to Heaven. Peter reminds people of what Moses was saying about the Messiah. He said, For Moses said: A prophet like me will the Lord, your God, raise up for you from among your own kin; to him you shall listen in all that he may say to you. Everyone who does not listen to that prophet will be cut off from the people. So if we don’t listen to God and do as He says then we will never get to Heaven. It even says that you will be cut off from the people. Which I think means that we will be cast into Hell. So we need to be able to listen to God. So that we can get to Heaven.
Jesus died for our sins so we could have eternal happiness with him in heaven. He wants us to not sin so that way we can be with him forever. He always wants us to be with him.
Jesus appears to the Apostles with the words, “Peace be with you.”..We just killed him,we just killed him with our actions, with our words, our sins.yet he still comes back to us with love.
God cares for us so he sent down Jesus to heal and fix and finally to die for our sins on the cross and open heaven’s gates. Peter tells us that Jesus uses humans to do miracles.
It’s when Jesus when to the apostles and ate some fish
Not only did Jesus give his life on the cross, but God gave up his son. But, Jesus knew that he had to sacrafice himself to save us from sin. He didnt actually have to, but he loves us so much that he died for us.
What Jesus is saying is that everyone has a chance to be a better person and to be a follower of God.
Jesus died and has witnesses that he rose on the third day and because of this i owe him my life.
Jesus died so that we can be with Him, and live with Him eternally, unless we sin and do not go to confession
What stuck out to me was that Jesus appears to the Apostles with the words, “Peace be with you.” We just killed Him with our sins and the first thing He says is peace be with you! Who would ever do this? God has infinite radical love for His creation. His mercy is bigger than the ocean that makes our sins look very small. He then goes on to show the Apostles His glorified body, eats a piece of fish, and confirms He is not a ghost. This is why we believe we will have a glorified body after the Second Coming, Jesus does. This stuck out to me because its still unbelievable that Jesus could love me that much i’ve sined so much but he still loves me and he died I mean he was Jesus appears to the Apostles with the words, “Peace be with you.” We just killed Him with our sins and the first thing He says is peace be with you! Who would ever do this? God has infinite radical love for His creation. His mercy is bigger than the ocean that makes our sins look very small. He then goes on to show the Apostles His glorified body, eats a piece of fish, and confirms He is not a ghost. This is why we believe we will have a glorified body after the Second Coming, Jesus does. and suffered for MY sins.
The crowd was so amazed that they made him walk but they told him it wasn’t by there power but by the man that they just crussified

After Jesus died people finally realized that he was God’s son and He could do great things. God worked so many miracles worked through the apostles after he left Earth and went to Heaven.
I think the scripture is telling us to open our hearts up to Jesus. We should open our heart and know and love Jesus.
The Acts of the Apostles teaches us how everything comes together and Jesus fulfilled His mission.
Today we see another Miracle where people believe that Peter and John healed him. They did not realize that God helped him. They don’t understand that God is spiritually there and helping them.
If we repent we will be healed. He is our God. We know he is with us and yet we condemned him. We witness God’s works every day and yet we struggle to believe. Miracles are works of the Lord. They are our proof. We repent to get closer to God.
The faith that comes through all of us to him gives God perfect health. We cannot give up our lives or worship someone we do not know or believe so we have to believe in him. we have to learn as much as possible so take all of it in as much as possible . that God wants you to know about Him. He asks of us is just to come to Him and the Bible and everything we need to know to about God and get to our heaven are home the heart’s deepest longing.
One thing that I thought was meaningful was when Jesus had been dead for 3 days, 3 whole days, and just showed up with the apostles like he was not just crucified. He is showing us that he loved and cared for the apostles, they had such an amazing relationship, because he even told them that he was going to come back after he was killed. Jesus knew what was going to happen, he knew that he would soon be with his father in Heaven.
Jesus took up the cross and continued, died, and rose from the dead. This is how He shows us how much He loves us and that in the end, we will be with Him in heaven. We shouldn’t be afraid to die because we know where we are going, we are certain of this because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Like I said yesterday, there is a way to balance your prayer and Catholic life with your everyday life. You don´t have to spend all day praying, but find at least a little bit of time to pray IF POSSIBLE. You don´t have to pray EVERY DAY, but at least pray when you can. And f you are having trouble praying, just step away from prayer for a few minutes and come back to it. God doesn´t force us into prayer, He invites us into prayer.
In order to truly understand the meaning of the Scriptures, we need to first understand what was going on in those times, and then acknowledge that Earth wasn’t the best place. So Jesus came, and fixed things. Think about how many problems He fixed just in 33 years. Healing, forgiving sinners, showing people the true path to Heaven.
We need to stop worshiping things that aren’t God. We focus our whole life on things that we want or have. Those physical things are taking us away from God. We need to spend time with God everyday so that we may grow closer to Him and that we may live our life to the fullest.
This scripture is telling us Jesus is a very merciful God. Jesus is very forgiving and even when we deny him or go against him he still loves us. Jesus loves us more than anyone so he died for our sins. We go to confession to ask Jesus for forgiveness of our sins. Jesus wants to help us make it to heaven.
God raised up his servant and sent him to bless you by turning each of you from your evil ways.” Jesus was sent to collect the least of his people, the poor helpless ones who could not fend for themselves and he was their protector. we need to become poor men and women and follow god and give up all the worldly things in our lives.
I think this scripture is about how people counter dict themselves a lot. They are amazed how peter healed a cripple, but they put to death the person who had healed many and gave life. Jesus gave peter the power to do this but non of the people credit Jesus or acknowledge him.
“You are the children of the prophets and of the covenant that God made with your ancestors.” This stood out to me because we are all created by God. We are created in His divine image. A lot of people don’t like the way they look but have to remember God made us this way. He died for us like a parent. He created us to do wonderful things in our life. Yes, sometimes we will break down and yes, we will think life is hard but God will be there for us no matter what. He saved us and so we should be so grateful. We should like the way we look. We shouldn’t ourselves. God loves you so very much!!!!
“The author of life you put to death, but God raised him from the dead; of this we are witnesses”. We were the ones who put Jesus to death. Jesus wouldn’t have died if we wouldn’t have sinned. We are all sinners, and we need to learn to accept it and thank God for dying so we could be freed from our sins. No matter what we do, we will always be sinners, but if we go to confession and repent, we will be forgiven and have a chance at eternal life.
Jesus died because he loves us and he rose again so that he could be with us. When he rose people finally started believing that he is who he says he is. He truly is the son of God and he was sent by God to guide us back to him.
what the scripture is telling me is that jesus still loves us in death and is always with us even if we filled with sin. jesus knows us and we know Him and what He is trying to do is help us and to fully glorify us by taking us to confession.
Most people in Jerusalem only believed when they saw what Jesus could do. Even though He had done many good things and said many good things, they still put Him to death because they did not believe. It is important in our faith that we believe without seeing. God has even given us many signs and people still do not believe. Always trust in God.
What the scripture is telling me is that jesus still loves us in death and is always with us even if we filled with sin. jesus knows us and we know Him and what He is trying to do is help us and to fully glorify us by taking us to confession to become closer with Him again.
Jesus and many of the great prophets said that the Christ would suffer and it was all fulfilled by Jesus. Throughout his life and is public ministry he always hinted that he would rise from the dead, people never seemed to understand what that actually meant they did not believe that this man could rise from the dead. Jesus knew he would have to suffer to overcome death and save his people from their sin.
In Today´s gospel A man is thankful for Peter healing him. I think we need to be more thankful in our lives. Because we go to a catholic school that encourages us to get closer to God. The school takes us to mass two times a week. But some people dont realize how hard it is to make this happen it may not seem like a big deal but lots or people put effort so you can get to mass every week. Instead of bickering we need to be thanking people for what they have done for us,
The people acted out of ignorance to kill Jesus. Sometimes we act out of ignorance too. God can give us refreshment of our sins if we repent. God also sent us his servants to guide us.
In today’s gospel, Jesus walks into the room with the Apostles and tells them to repent. We need to repent and prepare for Jesus to come. When He comes again we will be prepared and ready to face Jesus. He will forgive our sins if we go to confession.
God is telling us in this scripture that Jesus has saved us from our sins. Jesus suffered and died for us, and he wants us to get to heaven, so we should repent and rejoice in Jesus ressurection.
I really liked this scripture because it talks about the importance of listing to Christ. The first thing Jesus did when he resurrected was go to his disciples and said “peace be with you” I also liked when it said “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the law of Moses and in the prophets and psalms must be fulfilled.” Jesus is telling/reminding the disciples that he is the son of God and that what he said will happen is true.
A prophet like me will the Lord, your God, raise up for you from among your own kin; to him you shall listen in all that he may say to you. Everyone who does not listen to that prophet will be cut off from the people. In the scripture He is talking about Heaven. If we rejoice God and tell people about Him that will get us one step closer to God. But if we just ignore Him and say mean stuff about Him then that gets us farther away for Him.
This is showing us how much Jesus has done for us and yet we still sin everyday. We need to be grateful for all that God has done for us. He died on the cross, rose and saved us. He made everything we have and continues to love us even after every wrong thing we do. Be grateful for him!
Peter is talking to a crowd, and he’s talking about how he healed the crippled man. He did make it a point to say though, that he didn’t do it himself, but with God’s help. He used God’s intercession to help people. Peter told the people this to grow the people’s belief in God. We have to believe in God, and if we do, He will do good things through us.
“The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus” just like they glorified Jesus, Jesus glorifies us. He heals, loves and prays for us. Most people only believed in Jesus when they saw Him, with their own eyes, do a miracle. As Disciples of Jesus we need to believe in Him always.
In the reading, we are taught to repent. In the Gospel, Jesus appears to the disciples and asks for food. They gave Him a baked fish and He ate it. Which shows that the disciples repented for their sins
“You children of Israel, why are you amazed at this, and why do you look so intently at us as if we had made him walk by our own power or piety?” I feel like this scripture is saying to us why do we act like we know everything about are faith but fail to do simple things for the Father. We act like showing up to Church works but we need to be fully present. Knowing God takes effort.
“You acted out of ignorance, just as your leaders did… therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be wiped away,” God is gracious and kind. We have turned against him many times, and so has every other human on this earth, but He still forgives each and every one of us every time. We should remember that God is always here for us, and wants us to learn from our sins.
“You are witnesses of these things.” This line stuck out to me because the apostles were truly witnesses to the life of Jesus Christ himself. It makes me think about all that I have witnessed myself. There are so many times that we have been witnesses to God’s works. The question is have we opened ourselves to see these works? Are we expecting things to just happen or are we going to seek God out? You must seek out God to truly find him, to have a relationship and see all that he truly does for you.
“Have you anything here to eat” Jesus proves to the apostles that he resurrected fully human and fully divine. They thought he was a ghost, but after he ate in front of them, they realized that he raised, body and soul, from the dead. Jesus fulfilled all of the prophecies about him in the Old Testament. He is the Messiah, and he came to save us.
You must seek out God to truly find him, to have a relationship and see all that he truly does for you and everyone around you.
In the Scripture today it telling me about the Love and what Jesus just does for us. Jesus died on the cross for us and then 3 days later He Resurrected and saved all us from our sins and fulfilled our hearts with His love and showed how much He loves us.
In this scripture Peter and John remember who gave them the power to heal crippled people and preach it to the town they were in. We need to remember where we got our talents from and perform those talents in His name and likeness. They weren’t selfish and they didn’t take all the popularity to themselves.
Something that really speaks to me is “Peace be with you.” This came at the perfect time. I, like many people, have had a lot going on and have felt very stressed. But it is extremely important to remember that we can always hand our stress and anxiety over to our Lord. He, after all, knows everything there is to know about us. He will extend His Peace over us, if only we would ask Him. So please, when you are stressed and anxious, do not bear it alone. Allow your Heavenly Father to care for you with unconditional love and an endless fount of peace.
This Scripture is talking about how Jesus saved our sins by dying for us and for our sins and it also talks about when Jesus broke the bread and the disciple remembered that it was him who is there lord and savior and think it really important to know that there is someone out their who is willing to die for us and for our sins.
“God raised up his servant and sent him to bless you by turning each of you from your evil ways.” This tells us that God sent Jesus to us. He sent His only son. God sent His son because He loves us. Even when we sin God loves us. God knows when we are sorry for sinning and He forgives us. We hurt God when we sin but He is so forgiving and so loving. God loves us so much. He loves each and every one of us. God sent His son to die on a cross for us. We have to remember that even when we sin, and even when we hurt God, He will love us now and forever.
It is saying that when Pilate gave us a choice to let Jesus go, but instead we decided to let go a murder. Jesus doesn’t care about how much we don’t want Him or keep sinning. it won’t stop Him from loving us, He will love us more each day. He didn’t care if we decided to not love Him back or keep running away from Him. It won’t stop him from coming after us.
Jesus did the impossible. No one has ever defeated death before, But Jesus did. How can believe in God when He did the unimaginable. God will do anything to help us, even if that includes dying. The only thing is, Jesus didn’t stop at death; He came back. Jesus did more than anybody could have ever asked of Him. So what I am trying to say is, Jesus will never stop until he gets to you. The only thing is, it is up to you if you want to get to Jesus.
We all find ourselves in a time of stress, worry, anxiety, and helplessness sometime in our lives. It is very common from our human nature to look towards other things that may not be good for us to try to be calm and find peace, for example; smoking, alcohol, drugs, and more. We always tend to get caught up in the business of our lives. We focus on the work we need to do, the chores we have to finish, the mistakes we made and a lot of other things. To truly find peace we need to seek for God, not once, but every single day of our lives. When we are worried about family, our spouse, or friends we get worried. Jesus tells us that He is Peace. Jesus tells us to cast all of our worries onto him no matter how big or small because nothing will or will ever be too big for God to handle. In the moment that we feel stressed God can tell, and even before we are stressed God knew that something would make you stressed. When we are weak God waits for us to notice and to talk to him. No material or object that can not go with us to heaven will give us peace. Buying a video game or an iphone will not help to relieve us stress but only make it worse because we will always be longing for God. No matter how many times someone says that they don’t need God, deep down they know that they truly need God. We never know how long we will live on this earth. We don’t know how long until Jesus will come again. And the worst mistake that we could ever make is not finding God in the need of struggle and worry. We need to let go, and let God.
The wisdom in this reflection is inspiring. I am amazed at your insight for your age! Praise Jesus!
What Jesus is saying is that everyone has a chance to be a better person in Christ and a better person in themselves and to be a follower of God and to live in the life of God forever
Jesus appeared in his glorified body this is the only evidence of one existing. This is what happened and why the shroud of Turin is a thing because when Jesus rose he must of had to have a large amount of light changing from a regular body to a glorified
“Peace be with you.” I think its amzing after all that we have done reject Jesus, ridacule him, hate him, he will always come to us with open arms and love and forgive us no matter what.
We killed God, and in response, He loves us to oblivion. God wants us to have peace, but we can’t have peace if we have the weight of our sins on our back. That is why Gad takes our sins away from us. He loves us too much to just let us go. Jesus came down from heaven so we could have a knowledge of God and strive to seek him.
“The author of life you put to death” when we killed Jesus, there is so much that he could have done to earth. he could have vaporized it and made it seem like it had never existed. But no, he forgave us and gave us the gift of eternal life. this shows how forgiving God truly is. he could have put all of us straight into hell, but he gave us the gift of heaven. we should start respecting the one that made us more.
God is key to everything. He is the one and only. He keeps us up when were down. occupied when we’re bored, he is the key to everything no matter what it is he will always make us happy. Ask and God will receive. He is our savoir and he will alwasy be. He will unlcvok knowledge and guidance he is our path when we are lost.
The first thing Jesus said after he died and rose back from the dead was ‘Shalom’. Peace be with you, God has an unfair love. We killed Him with our sins and everyday we still hurt Him even if we don’t mean to. God knows what heartache is, it’s not like He is some person who is just there for power. God cares about every person even if they don’t care for Him.
Jesus died on the cross for us, because he love us. And we have to give him some of our time up, which is nothing at all compared to what he had to go through. We just have to make time in our day to dedicate everything to him.
today the scripture said to me that we should trust in God. Today John healed a crippled man through the power of God. i think of these cripples like our sin. Sin makes us farther away from God and that is bad. If we are truly sorry and trust that what Jesus said is true God will forgive us. His love is forever and infinite ir is greater than anything that we are able to comprehend so if we just trust God that we will get to heaven.
Jesus came to the Apostles and they thought he was a ghost kind of like when we say God is omnipresent we think of him like a ghost but He is right there and he can talk to us
why are you amazed at this,
and why do you look so intently at us
as if we had made him walk by our own power or piety?
When he says this he is saying to them that he is not the one who healed him and he healed the man through the power of God. Then he goes on the explain how they crucified him and when he came back from the dead the first thing he said was peace be with you and showed that no matter what God will always love us.
The saddest part about this is that lots of people choose to not believe in him or love him back.
“God raised up his servant and sent him to bless you by turning each of you from your evil ways.” We are called to be servants of the Lord. God loves us and wants us to serve him and each other. We all sin, God knows this, and for that reason he doesn’t get upset when we sin or turn away from him. God is very patient and will always wait for us to return to him. We must ask God to help us overcome our temptations, because he is the one who has all the power, not us. While, God has the power to save us and bring us back to him, he gave us free will and knows that we can turn to him and give our life to him, even though it will be challenging at times.
The Apostles got the power of God at Pentecost. They used that power to do good like Jesus did. Peter reminds people of what Moses said about the Messiah. Moses said “A prophet like me will the Lord, your God, raise up for you from among your own kin; to him you shall listen in all that he may say to you. Everyone who does not listen to that prophet will be cut off from the people.”
“You denied the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be released to you. The author of life you put to death, but God raised him from the dead; of this we are witnesses. And by faith in his name, this man, whom you see and know, his name has made strong, and the faith that comes through it has given him this perfect health, in the presence of all of you.” How can we put someone else to death and ask more of Him every single day. We are wanters, we always want more than what is given to us to the point of when we wanted someone to die and we weren’t going to let it go till it happened and everyone who believed him to die with him. We wanted more than anything and we still ask more from the person we asked to die and to carry that cross. He died on the cross because of us and to show us He truly loved us and we killed Him.
“These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the law of Moses and in the prophets and psalms must be fulfilled.” This stuck out to me because the Apostles didn’t realize that Jesus had to die for them until he told them and opened them to it. The apostles were in shock the whole time because they didn’t know who He was. “While they were still speaking about this, he stood in their midst and said to them, “Peace be with you.” This sticks out to me because they were talking about Him when He came to them but they didn’t realize it. He acts like nothing happened to Him in the last 3 days. Like He didn’t get crucified, scourged, killed, or mocked. He came to them so lovingly. They were surprised to see Jesus. We should be ready for Him and not surprised.
Jesus came back to His Disciples and proved to them that He was not taken from the tomb that He was buried at. He even proves to them, and us, that He is real and not a ghost.
In today’s scripture we hear that Jesus comes back to life and the apostles are stunted because they thought that he was dead. This stuck out to me because it proves to us that Jesus can do anything and he can help us. When we pray and ask him to do stuff for us he does it because he can do it because he is God so all you have to ask him.
“Repent, therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be wiped away, and that the Lord may grant you times of refreshment and send you the Christ” in the scriptures, we are told to repent for our sins. the jews sinned when they handed over Jesus to be killed a torcherous death. but Jesus forgave them. when we go to confession and confess our sins, Jesus will forgive us. we just have to be sorry and ask for his forgiveness.
The Scripture today is talking about how the Jews all rejected Jesus, and instead of having him live, they freed the murderer. This can relate to the present day, people push away God so that they can use electronics of some sort. The electronics are representing the murderer, because we chose Barabbas over Jesus Christ.
I think the scripture is saying, we need God. No matter how hard we try to avoid it and however hard we try to make it to heaven on our own, we need God. We need Jesus, HE’S the reason why we are able to go to heaven. God helps us reach the gates of heaven and God helps us on our path to not only heaven, but also holiness and to be with him.
Jesus is telling us to trust in Him. Most of the apostles (Thomas especially) didn’t believe Jesus resurrected. Some people truly need to see to believe. We need to teach them that they don’t need to see to believe.
in this one Jesus wants us to believe in him even though most people didn’t. and to always trust in him in any situation.
In the scripture today, we were taught to repent. Jesus appears to the disciples and asks for food, they gave Him baked fish and He eats it. this shows that Jesus is both a true God and true Man. He rose from the dead and conquered sin which shows His divine side and He still eats the food that we eat.
Jesus came back to show us love but we still pushed him away, we should’ve came to him with open arms and love but no we didn’t. We denied him and his love.
