“I HAVE GIVEN YOU A MODEL TO FOLLOW, SO THAT AS I HAVE DONE FOR YOU, YOU SHOULD ALSO DO.” JN 13:1-15
Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
Before the feast of Passover, Jesus knew that his hour had come
to pass from this world to the Father.
He loved his own in the world and he loved them to the end.
The devil had already induced Judas, son of Simon the Iscariot, to hand him over.
So, during supper,
fully aware that the Father had put everything into his power
and that he had come from God and was returning to God,
he rose from supper and took off his outer garments.
He took a towel and tied it around his waist.
Then he poured water into a basin
and began to wash the disciples’ feet
and dry them with the towel around his waist.
He came to Simon Peter, who said to him,
“Master, are you going to wash my feet?”
Jesus answered and said to him,
“What I am doing, you do not understand now,
but you will understand later.”
Peter said to him, “You will never wash my feet.”
Jesus answered him,
“Unless I wash you, you will have no inheritance with me.”
Simon Peter said to him,
“Master, then not only my feet, but my hands and head as well.”
Jesus said to him,
“Whoever has bathed has no need except to have his feet washed,
for he is clean all over;
so you are clean, but not all.”
For he knew who would betray him;
for this reason, he said, “Not all of you are clean.”
So when he had washed their feet
and put his garments back on and reclined at table again,
he said to them, “Do you realize what I have done for you?
You call me ‘teacher’ and ‘master,’ and rightly so, for indeed I am.
If I, therefore, the master and teacher, have washed your feet,
you ought to wash one another’s feet.
I have given you a model to follow,
so that as I have done for you, you should also do.”
Today, Holy Thursday, the Institution of the priesthood and Eucharist, Jesus gives us the first Mass. In John’s Gospel, he does not use the words of institution but rather focuses on the washing of the disciples feet. Jesus provides a model that mirrors the crucifixion.
The lowliest Jewish slave did not wash his master’s feet. This symbolizes the crucifixion. Some scripture scholar’s believe the washing of the feet symbolizes baptism. The teaching Christ is handing on to us is to be selfless. “There is no greater love than to lay one’s life down for one’s friends.” JN 15:13
God became a Man to show us how much the Father loves us, to redeem us by giving His own life up to atone for every sin, and be a model of holiness. This is true love. There is no greater love. This is what our hearts are truly yearning for. We are fulfilled when we are selfless and give up ourselves for the other, when we learn to serve. Enter each room asking how you can help.
Take some time to get off screens and spend time with humans giving and receiving. Sacrifice what you want for the benefit of the other. At the heart of Holy Thursday, Jesus teaches us to be other-centered. It takes a lifetime, a vocation, and training our mind to wake each day and be other-centered. If you make this choice, the rewards are eternal!
Today’s challenge: Take time to go to watch the Easter Triduum, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday, the three highest feast days on all of the Church calendar. How did these events change YOUR life forever and all of human history? Jesus opens wide His heart for you, gives up His life for you, and desires a personal relationship with you. The hardest part, you have to take the time each day to spend with Him, be transformed, and hand it on to others! Ask God for His grace, it transforms what sin has damaged.
Be a servant, become a saint!
#Christian YOLO
that it holy thrsday and i an speshol day and appos of rhe washing feeat and thy wash a the feet
We are made to love and to be loved. The only way we can be truly happy is by serving others. Jesus sets an amazing example for all of us to imitate in our day to day lives. By serving others we show that we love and care for them and that we will always be by their side no matter what. Jesus loves each and every one of us and died for our sins so that we might be able to enter eternal life with Him. He only desires our happiness (the perfect form of love) and sets an example for us to follow so that we might join Him.
Jesus was sent to atone for everyone’s sins, as well as be a model of holiness for us. When Jesus washed the disciples feet, He was being a model of what we should do for each other.
I think this Gospel is showing the humility Jesus had. The King of Kings is washing His disciples feet. He also shows his humility by taking his scourging and crucifixion when he could have gotten out of it.
How did Jesus change your life? What Jesus did for us was not just a small act, it was the largest act. He loved us so much that he gave himself up so that he could save us. Does that mean anything to us as humans? Jesus has saved us from sin and everyday he offers to take them. These last few days of Lent should be spent reflecting on His sacrifice. Not just reflecting, but talking to him and listening to him. Jesus is trying to speak to you, all you have to do is listen.
In this Gospel, Jesus teaches us to be humble. Jesus is the all powerful God and yet He is still humble enough to wash the feet of His friends. Another thing I learned from this is that we should be cleansed by Jesus. Jesus washes away our sins and He will always love us.
A phrase that stuck out to me was What I am doing, you do not understand now, but you will understand later.” I like this phrase because it means that none of the dispels knew what was going to happen to Jesus until tomorrow. Another reason I like this phrase Is that it means that Jesus’s time is coming and that he will die on the cross in one day.
Today’s scripture is about the washing of the feet. Jesus washes the apostles’ feet. We need to let Jesus wash our feet. He can’t physically wash them but we can let Him spiritually wash them. When we go to confession He is washing our souls. Next time you go to confession just think that He is cleansing your soul.
If Jesus is humble enough to wash His disciple’s feet, we should be humble enough to wash one another’s. God sent His Son down to Earth to be a perfect example for us. We should follow in His footsteps and be humble.
What reached out to me was when Jesus said, “I have given you a model to follow” What this means to me is that Jesus has given us a model to follow, but we don’t want to push ourselves too hard. Jesus is what we as humans should strive to be like, but we can’t push ourselves too hard trying to be like Him.
In this scripture jesus was in his final days and he was ebing scurged at the pillar adn beaten then and he was awake all night.
“I have given you a model to follow.” We need to be like Jesus and live like Him. We need to help and care for others. Jesus is the perfect model of who we should strive to be because He is the most holy.
“What I am doing, you do not understand now, but you will understand later.” I feel like Jesus is trying to tell us that He will help us even if we don´t understand it right away. We need to trust in Him. He will ALWAYS help us, but we have to give time. He loves us unconditionally. He has always loved us. During the end of this Lent, let us practice listening and waiting for Jesus.
Today is Holy Thursday and today Jesus is setting an example on what we should strive for during lent. And he mentions the great washing of feet. And Jesus actually was the first to wash others feet before he ever got.
“Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and dry them with the towel around his waist.” Jesus washed His disciples feet. That’s how much He loved them, it’s crazy i mean i know i wouldn’t dare wash anyone’s feet but Jesus did because the love had.
Before the feast of Passover, Jesus knew that his hour had come to pass from this world to the Father. He loved his own in the world and he loved them to the end. The devil had already induced Judas, son of Simon the Iscariot, to hand him over. Jesus already knew what would happen and still fought through for us. HE knew that his friends would sleep during his suffering, deny him, and betray him. He had to go through a lot alone but again he still fought.
these next few days are gonna be the holiest days in the world. The text said take some time off and humbly submit yourself to God.
“There is no greater love than to lay one’s life down for one’s friends.”
Jesus is washing the desiples feet. I think this is supposed to represent forgiving them or cleaning their sins. Jesus washed their feet even though one of them thought he should wash his feet
Jesus is telling us to serve other people. In this gospel Jesus washes the disciple’s feet and tells them to do the same, these are the virtues of humility and service. Jesus doesn’t want us to be served but to serve because that is what makes us happy.
Today’s scripture we learn he wiped the feet of the disciples. I feel like this is such a big part because this is right before his arrest/death. Jesus washed the feet of disciples for a really good reason and the reason why is to show respect for the disciples to show how it’s not always about himself he loves us also he’s not selfish hes all great and holy. The reason why I say this is because everyone thought Jesus was full of himself so they wanted him dead.
I think that today’s lesson is that we should try and be humble, not prideful, so can be a servant, like God.
God became human to show humanity how much He loves us. He died for our sins so that we could dwell with him in heaven. This is what we actually want, not tiktok not anything material we need God and to be in Heaven with him.
We always look for happiness in objects in life mostly money but Jesus is all the happiness we need in life. Jesus sees us all the same no matter what we have or how rich we are just like he did when washing the disciples feet
Jesus knew Judas was gonna betray him but he didn’t care. Jesus knew that what he was about to do was gonna save everybody from there sins and he knew he wasn’t going to regret it.
I think that it says that it is Jesus’s final hour on earth and that he loves us all very much. Then he started to water the feet of that 12 disciples. Then Peter said to him He came to Simon Peter, who said to him,“Master, are you going to wash my feet?”Jesus answered an said to him,“What I am doing, you do not understand now,but you will understand later.”
We betray Jesus by sinning and hurting him and others when doing so yet he still washed their feet because he loves them and he modeled for us how we are supposed to treat others even if they may not be kind to us we still need to show respect to everyone as Jesus did for the whole world by dying on the cross for us out of love.
For he knew who would betray him; for this reason, he said, “Not all of you are clean.” Jesus was trying to tell them that one of them (Judas)
were going to betray him,the disciples didn’t take the hint and didn’t realize what he had said.Think about when he had brought 3 disciples to the olive garden to watch for Judas,The Guards,The so called “Priests” from that time, and they fell asleep,he came over, woke them up,and went back to praying, they fell asleep agian.
I think Jesus is trying to tell us that we can’t live on our own. We are not alone. He is with us. Just because you can’t see something doesn’t mean it’s not real it just means you got to have some faith. We need faith to know Jesus. Without faith we have nothing we have to lean on Jesus.
Jesus knew that Judas was gonna betray him in the garden when he was washing the diciples feet. He didn’t care, because he knew that what he was about to do was gonna save everybody from there sins
“So, during supper, fully aware that the Father had put everything into his power.” God gave Jesus a choice. Jesus didn’t have to do this. Jesus knew what was about to happen. He could’ve said no, I will not do this. But because of his love with us he endured so much pain just for us.
Jesus knows who will betray Him. He says, “Not all of you are clean.” Hinting at the fact that one of the Apostles will betray Him. Which He then just says, “One of you will betray me.” Jesus knows all. He knew how He was gonna die, and knew when He was gonna die. He knew every little detail of His death. He washes the Apostles feet to show that He is a servant. Peter says to Jesus that the Apostles should be the ones washing Jesus’ feet. And that Jesus shouldn’t be washing theirs. But Jesus is telling the Apostles that He is a servant and He is the one who will wash their feet. Jesus was all powerful in Heaven and on Earth and yet He came down to be a poor servant. Even though he was the one who had all the power He was still so holy that He became a servant. We need to be like Jesus. Help other people and not just yourself. We need to take other people into consideration, because if we don’t then our pride and egos will take over our mindset and make us into horrible selfish people. Our sins are what caused Jesus to have to go through all of this pain and suffering. Be thankful for Jesus. Be thankful. We need to make sure that we don’t just think about candy and and not the true meaning of Easter. Be mindful that it is Jesus’ Resurrection.
God became a Man to show us how much the Father loves us. Our Father loves us so much He sent His ONLY SON to come and save OUR SINS, we need to be true, and loving to God. Instead of just being ungrateful, to him.
It’s the time for Jesus to wash his disciples feet
In this scripture reflection it says who every is it clean should not clean my feet. We need to go to confession and wipe away that sin and be clean for when we recieve the body of him
What stuck out to me was that God became a Man to show us how much the Father loves us, to redeem us by giving His own life up to atone for every sin, and be a model of holiness. This is true love. There is no greater love. This is what our hearts are truly yearning for. We are fulfilled when we are selfless and give up ourselves for the other, when we learn to serve. This stuck out to me because Jesus gave up his life for us he saved us from sin and if that’s not love than what is love because its crazy how much he loved us even when we sin he forgives us and we need to learn that you cant get happiness and love from money and other objects you can only get real love and real, true happiness from Jesus our Lord and Savior.
Jesus is our savior and he worked so hard for us. He helps us in every way and in return we need to pray to him. He knows that we will sin and yet he loves us and still helps us. We should do all we can to earn his love.
I think that what Jesus is trying to tell us is that we are all unclean and we need to recognize that we are sinners and accept.
” so that as I have done for you, you should also do.” This is setting an example for us to follow, to help those in need, and pray and trust in God
God is washing Simon Peter’s feet in today’s gospel and when He washes Simon Peter’s feet He says “Whoever has bathed has no need except to have his feet washed, for he is clean all over; so you are clean, but not all.” Which means that we are all not clean but when shared with other people.
A part that stuck out to me was
“Do you realize what I have done for you?
You call me ‘teacher’ and ‘master,’ and rightly so, for indeed I am.
If I, therefore, the master and teacher, have washed your feet,
you ought to wash one another’s feet.”
Jesus wants us to wash peoples feet. I don’t think it means actually wash people feet, I think He is trying to tell us to do small acts of kindness for others like he did when he washed their feet.
Jesus gave us a model, but He also gave us the sacrament of Baptism, the Eucarist and ordination into the Priesthood. Jesus was their servant so he is telling us to be each others servants and to share the sacraments with others.
The sentence, “There is no greater love than to lay one’s life down for one’s friends.” It is such a great way to say that helping others, showing love, or even being kind to people can affect us to have great habits of kindness. I think that sentence tells people that if you do good to someone or something, there is always something that is gonna come to you as a gift back for that. I should understand what I’m doing and what I shouldn’t be doing so I know what is right for me and others.
Today Scripture tells us that even if you think you are better than evryone you must humble your self towards others for you are not better because even the king of kings himbled himself by washing his diciples feet
god became a to show us how much fathet loves uswe are called out one by one by him to go follow his call and be a servant of god so we ae ready when he comes again.
We are fulfilled when we are selfless. Jesus shows us that we need to serve.
We should spend more of our time with Jesus because He loves us and so should we. He cared for His disciples and washed their feet just as He cared for us and died on the cross.
What stuck out to me was when Jesus said “Do you realize what I have done for you? You call me ‘teacher’ and ‘master,’ and rightly so, for indeed I am. If I, therefore, the master and teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash one another’s feet. I have given you a model to follow, so that as I have done for you, you should also do.” This part stuck out to me because Jesus is telling us that he didn’t die on the cross for us to act like he doesn’t exist. When God forgives us and gives us his grace, we need to do the same for the people around us.
In today’s scripture I learned that we need to follow Jesus’s example and serve each other, even if you think you’re better than everyone you need to serve people to be fully clean.
Jesus became a Man to show us how much the Father loves us, to save us by giving His own life up for every one of our sins and be a model of holiness. This is true love. There is no greater love. Take some time to get off screens and spend time with him.
Jesus knew what was going to happen. He knew how much it would hurt Him if He went throught with it. And He still did it. For us. For the world. If that doesn’t show you how much He loves us, then nothing will.
Jesus shows us how to treat others with respect like he washed the disciples feet. He says, “Unless I wash you, you will have no inheritance with me.” He showed them the way.
“What I am doing, you do not understand now, but you will understand later.” This stood out to me because they didn’t know what He was going to do. Now all of us know and we are all so grateful that He died for our sins. It is just an amazing thing that He is the only one who would suffer like that for us. He is the one who saved us from sin, so we should be very grateful.
Anything is possible when we have God. Jesus knew he would die on the cross. He accepted his cross and died for our sins. He Loves us more than anything and he wants to help us. When we have God our lives are so much easier.
God loves us. We need to know that. People don’t appreciate what Jesus has done for us. He died for our sins so that we could have a life with Him, but we still sin. We need to spend time with Him so that we may know Him.
Jesus is telling them, “Do you know what I have done for you.” Jesus died for us so that we can have life on Earth and make it back to Heaven to life eternal life with God forever.
the apostles are hesitant to let Jesus wash their feet. They didn’t think Jesus should be doing anything for them, but as Christians we should always be willing to give ourselves up to everyone else we need to humble ourselves and do what is best for others first.
In today’s Scripture Jesus is washing his disciples feet. Simon Peter at first does not want him to wash his feet, because he knows that he is not worthy for the Son of God to wash his feet. Jesus washes his feet because he wants them to be clean from sin when he is gone.
God gave up His life for us and to show us how much He loves us. We should try to be more like God by helping others and showing them that we love them. It is the least we can do, and doesn’t even compare to what God did for us.
In today’s gospel Jesus washes the apostles feet. I think he washed the feet because it was kinda like a message of love, Because even though he is the savior of out sins he showed the apostles that he sacrifices himself for them and he gives up everything he has for his apostles. He not only gave up everything for the Apostles but for us.
Even thought Jesus is infinity more important than us he took the time to create us. Jesus washed the feet of the disciples and it should be the other way around. Jesus love is unconditional and unfair. Jesus will do anything for us because he loves us and don´t think that he dos´ent beaus he sacrificed so much for us so we could have an afterlife with him in the end.
what the scripture is telling me is that not everyone is perfect (clean) and they have to go to confession is order to be cleansed of the soul. jesus cleaned his friends feet is preperation of His death so they would be ready to endure the suffering. what i think He’s saying is that we must be a good example to our friends and respect them because they would be there for us.
I think this scripture is about how Jesus wanted to show us that we should care for others, even when we need care ourselves. Jesus washed their feet even when he was about to die. He also tells them that one of them is not clean
Jesus answered him, “Unless I wash you, you will have no inheritance with me.” Simon Peter said to him, “Master, then not only my feet, but my hands and head as well.” Jesus said to him, “Whoever has bathed has no need except to have his feet washed, for he is clean all over. Jesus is talking about baptism. We are baptised are we are now children of God. Not only are body but our soul.
Jesus has saved us from our sins. This Easter we should recognize what Jesus has done for us.
I have given you a model to follow,
so that as I have done for you, you should also do.”
This scripture is talking about how Jesus is washing the disciples feet. I like it when Jesus said “Not all of you are clean” because Jesus knew who was going to betray him in the garden. When Jesus is washing their feet it’s not just the disciples feet its also ours.
We need this weekend to be a weekend of thanksgiving. God became flesh to save us, we need to become more thankful.
Jesus is showing us how to live. He is the best example to ever follow, obviously no one will ever be just like him because he is perfect, but we must try. We will always fail and make mistakes, but a lot of the time we will succeed and live in happiness.
Jesus knew He was about to die. He still became the servant for the apostles. He washed their feet even though He was going to die for them. The Man who saved us from our sins in the same Man who became a slave so he could serve the very people He knew would deny him and not be with Him in his hour of need. Jesus saved us.
In the scripture today I think it is telling me that sometimes we get tempted by the devil. We will end up doing the bad instead of the good of what we are supposed to be doing. This just leads us further from Jesus. We do it ourselves we make the choice and we gotta tell ourselves not to do that and to do the right thing. Sometimes we can be like Judas and betray Jesus, this is when we go and sorry to Jesus by going to Mass and Confession.
“Peter said to him, “You will never wash my feet.” Jesus answered him, “Unless I wash you, you will have no inheritance with me.” I feel like this scripture really shows how we treat God. He will give us everything He can and we still treat Him bad and like a tool to help us in life and not a guide. We need to understand that God wants the very best for us.
Jesus is heavily hinting to Peter that he will betray Jesus. I think Peter kind of gets the jist, but he is already in denial. He doesn’t want to deny Jesus, so he hopes that his idea of what Jesus is trying to get at is different from he has in his head.
This Scripture is talking about how Jesus tells us that just because we are washed does not mean we are clean. Jesus talks about his apostles how some of them are not clean and just because they say they are does not mean that they are. I also think it relates to us and how we think that we are clean and all but in reality we are not and we might go to confession and then after do what we just confessed to the priest.
“Unless I wash you, you will have no inheritance with me.” Jesus is being an example to them. He is showing them what He wants them to do by doing it himself, and then He trusts them to do the same to each other. I have given you a model to follow,
so that as I have done for you, you should also do.” Jesus may have said this to his disciples, but He really meant it for all of us. We must follow Jesus’s example.
I think the scripture is saying that we all need to be humble. Jesus was humble, the Son of God washed His disciples feet, they didn’t ask Him to He just did. I think the scripture is also saying, “But many who are the greatest now will be least important then, and those who seem least important now will be the greatest then.” Mark 10:31. I feel like the scripture portrays both of these in it. For Jesus, the greatest and Son of God had to be treated poorly, beaten, insulted, and crucified to help us all get to heaven and when He got there too He was appointed at the right hand of God.
Jesus stoops down to wash His disciples’ feet. Peter refused to allow Him to do so. When we refuse to let God redeem us, this is what happens. But Jesus does wash His disciples’ feet. He does cleanse them. So do He to us. Go to Him with all of your troubles.
A phrase from this piece of Scripture that stuck out to me was this one: “If I, therefore, the master and teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash one another’s feet. I have given you a model to follow, so that as I have done for you, you should also do.” For me, I think this is kind of symbolizing the direct line of popes all the way back to Peter, and also the traditions we have now in the church. We can also interpret this as Jesus showing us how to treat others, how to be like Him. He is always saying He is a model for us, and if we try to be like Him then we can get to heaven.
” I have given you a model to follow, so that as I have done for you, you should also do.” This line stuck out to me because Jesus has set an example for us in many ways. In today’s scripture though he comes out and says it. He washed the apostles feet to show how they can help one another. To show the prime example of what it is to help someone.
It is saying that we can be clean but never all the way clean. Once we sin we will only get farther away from Jesus, but once we go to confession we will start to grow closer and we need to make sure to pray to Him everyday.
In today’s Scripture Jesus gives us the first mass. He also gives us the Eucharist and priesthood. This day is a very important day. Jesus starts something that Catholics do today. On Holy Thursday we remember the Last Supper.
Jesus is there for you at all times and He will be there when you need Him. He will never leave you alone no matter what. That’s why He sacrificed Himself for you and your sins. He had to go through a lot of pain for you. Everything He did was for you.
The amount of agony Jesus was in when He was becoming aware of what was going to happen to Him in the next 48 hours was huge. He did this all for us, He died for us and our sins, what could we do to repay Him for that. We can try our best to not sin and to not talk behind others backs but nothing is enough, the only thing that would please Him is to come and join Him in Heaven beyond the gates.
Jesus washed Hid disciples feet because He came to help us, not show that he was higher in power. God is not cocky. He will help us like we are the master. God loves us so much that he will make Himself look like a slave. God will always love us and do whatever we ask of Him.
God became a Man to show us how much the Father loves us, to redeem us by giving His own life up to atone for every sin, and be a model of holiness. He is the model and we will watch and be like him and praise him for everything we do. He is all things good for everything we have done through him.
For he knew who would betray him
He knew that someone would betray him he was ready for it, he knew that he would be sent to death, so he was ready to be in his fathers hands.
“you do not understand” I think we dont understand a lot of things God does but he always turns our sorrow, anger, and whatever else into something better.
we should always follow what God does. we should always spread the word and to always give kindness. We never should disobey God we should always follow in his footsteps.
God served the apostles, and by doing so, He tells us that we need to serve others. We need to think about others, and fulfill their needs before we fulfill our own. Jesus stooped to wash their feet, so we need to practice humility. Jesus came down to earth, so we should be able to do little things for others.
You know what other people think doesn’t really matter. Jesus the King of Kings showed us this by washing the feet- a servant’s job- if Jesus can show us humility I think we can try to stop judging others before we even get to know them. It is not what’s on the outside that counts but what’s on the inside.
i think this is the most important scripture reflection is because this is the first mass and the institution to the priesthood. An this shows that are lives should be used for service of others like how Jesus washed the disciples feet.
God became a Man to show us how much the Father loves us, to redeem us by giving His own life up to atone for every sin, and be a model of holiness. This is true love. There is no greater love. This is what our hearts are truly yearning for.
I have given you a model to follow, so that as I have done for you, you should also do.” This stuck out to me because Jesus is our model and we need to follow His example. He showed us how to have humility and be humble so we need to follow His footsteps and do the same thing.
Jesus is not only washing the Apostle’s feet but He is washing ours. When He washes our feet I take it as He will do anything for us, even wash our feet that have been dirty all day.
“Not all of you are clean.” When we sin we are making our soul dirty. Every time we sin we make our souls dirtier and dirtier, but when we go to confession we are taking a spiritual bath to clean our souls. When we take a shower we will still get dirty again, like how when we go to confession we will still continue to sin.
today the scripture said to me that we need to help others to help ourselves. We need to have humility to help others and we should give ourselves to help others. Jesus didn’t just help Mary and the apostles he died on the cross to help us all. Knowing that God himself is willing to die for us in all of our sin is amazing. His love for us is so great it doesn’t matter what we do he will always love us. This is the love we need to show and help others.
What I think this scripture is trying to tell us is that God is willing to do anything for us and he will always be there. He’s always there when we need him and all we have to do is have one on one time so that he can help us or just be with us.
Jesus knew who would betray him, but he still let him do it and still died on the cross for our sins. He knew he would be betrayed and he still went through with it and still continued to love him.
“Unless I wash you, you will have no inheritance with me.”
That line stuck out to me because, when Jesus washed the Disciples feet they became a disciple of God.
Jesus knew what was going to happen and who was going to betray Him.
He gave us the last supper of His life on earth. He gave us His body to eat. He did all of this for OUR sins, not His. And all He asks of us is to give back.
Jesus was fully aware that Judas was going to hand Him over, but He didn’t try to stop him or try to save Himself. He knew it was going to be painful but He did what He needed to do for the world. He loved us so much that He died a horrible death for us. He suffered so we wouldn’t have to.
Before the feast of Passover, Jesus knew that his hour had come to pass from this world to the Father. Jesus knew that he was going to die. and he chose to wash his disciples feet. some say this was a sign of baptism, others crusifixion. He loved them even though one of them would betray him. and he will love us even when we do wrong so we can do what is right.
