Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
Jesus said to his disciples:
“Ask and it will be given to you;
seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds;
and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
Which one of you would hand his son a stone
when he asked for a loaf of bread,
or a snake when he asked for a fish?
If you then, who are wicked,
know how to give good gifts to your children,
how much more will your heavenly Father give good things
to those who ask him.
“Do to others whatever you would have them do to you.
This is the law and the prophets.” MT 7:7-12
When is the last time you just sat in silence and talked to Jesus like you were talking to your best friend, your wife or husband, your co-workers, or your children? If so, what did He say? Today, Jesus teaches us a valuable lesson, if you truly seek Him with your whole heart (an undivided heart), He will come to you. First, we start with doubt. We doubt His existence, we doubt He answers our prayers, we doubt. If you seek Truth, you will find God for He is Truth. This Lent is about finding out who Jesus is. It is not about giving up chocolate, God doesn’t hate chocolate (Matthew Kelly). It is about finding God in your life, coming closer to Him.
Don’t know how to get closer to Him. Ask Him? God if you exist, show me who you are. Show me why You created me. If your earthly father, mother, family, friends, priests, teachers, coaches care for you and are there for you when you are confused or doubt, how much more will the heavenly Father, your Creator, give you the answers and care that you deserve. God knows what you need more than you know yourself. He is your Creator and He always creates with a purpose. You are a perfect miracle with dignity no matter what anyone says on earth. God doesn’t create mistakes or people without purpose.
We are all called to love. It is our innate vocation. He wants us to be happy and live with purpose, not just exist, but live! When you ask God the most important questions in your life or just advice on the little things, He will show you the Way. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Ask the One who made you anything and He will answer you more perfectly than anyone else. ”Ask and it will be given you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” MT 7:7-8 Our hearts are made for seeking and as St. Augustine says, “Our hearts will not rest until they rest in You.”
He may give you an answer you don’t want to hear, like a loving Father who is trying to protect us. He may tell us no like a loving Father would. Trusting that God wants what is best for us is the hardest part. We like to control everything and we aren’t in control, God is. Sometimes He tests our faith and wants us to learn how to wait. He wants to test us and see how faithful we will be and how much we trust Him. He knows what is best, are you willing to accept His Will over yours? Are you ready to accept suffering and sacrifice? It is required training of a soul seeking holiness. “Pray without ceasing” 1 Thes 5:17
This Lent do whatever it takes (prayer even when you don’t feel like it, fasting when you don’t like to, being present to others when you would rather be doing something for yourself) to come to know who God is in YOUR life. He seeks relationship with you (“I thirst” on the cross). Stop holding back and give yourself to Him.
Today’s challenge: Seek until you find, then be at peace and live the life given to you as a gift from your Creator. God’s not a slot machine to give you whatever you want. Are you willing to give up yourself for the Will of God? This will make you happiest!
Be a servant, become a saint!

What the gosple is say is if you ask you shal recieve.
If we believe in Jesus he will give us what we want through prayer.
God wants us to come to him. He wants us to trust him, and to ask him for all that we need. But we have to be willing to ask. God already knows what we need, but he wants us to come to him, ask him, and to trust his plan. God will give you what you need. It may not always be what you want, but God knows what’s best for us.
I can apply this to my life by asking God for forgiveness, and by asking God about my vocation. I can pray to God about my vocation and by praying for forgiveness.
Jesus really wants to have a relationship with us and we just push him away. We are stubborn and are not praying. Jesus only wants what is best for us so we should give ourselves to him and start focusing on our faith instead of our material items, then will we be happiest.
I think a lot of people who read this passage don’t beleive it, because many people have asked for many things, and never gotten them. But we also have to remember the line from the Our Father; “Thy will be done.” God will give it to us, if it is in accordance with his will. It’s not like, ‘God, can it please rain cheesburgers today?” You can’t expect to have cheesburgers rain from the sky if it’s not in accordance with God’s will. So I hope that clears up any confusion anyone has.
This is not a one way street relationship. We have to fully believe and trust in God. We can’t just go asking for stuff and expect to get it when our hearts don’t truly believe.
Today’s Gospel reveals that Christ knows what our true desires are. He lets us show how much we have faith in him by lettin gus ask him for what we desire. Christ already knows our hearts and wants whats best for us, but it is weather we decide and choose how what we want. He lets us show our faith by asking him. “Ask and you shall receive.” When are we going to get what we desire if we don’t have faith or never ask Christ.
This reading is about how if you do something good you get something good. I can reflect on this reading by doing good things. I can also pray to God and talk to him like he is a good friend I have.
One thing that I can take away from this gospel is to remember that God always listens to our prayer. When Jesus said, “ask and it will be given unto you”, he doesn’t mean that what ever we ask for in prayer we will automatically get, but God will give us whatever he thinks is best. It is similar to if a small child asks their dad for something that they think they want, but could hurt them or put them in danger, and the dad says no. He doesn’t say that just to be mean or to make the child angry, he is doing it to prevent the child from a greater sadness, or a greater hurt. We have to keep this in mind when we pray, and to approach God in a way that we wish for his will, and not ours, because we know that his will is the best and will make us truly happy.
When I pray. I don’t always ask for things. I try to have a conversation with God like I would with one of my best friends. It feels like people think that prayer can only be a set combination of words even though it is simply talking to God.
Ok, what man in their right mind would give a king cobra to his child when he/she asked for something nice? No one (unless they mentally need help). When we ask God for something, normally it’s because we want something to ‘help’ us. But sometimes, we don’t know what were asking God to get us. Maybe you ask God to be the best gamer in the world. What if God gave us that? Would that help us get closer to him, or farther away from him? God knows what’s best for us, and he would never give us anything that would lead us away from him.
When I pray. I don’t always ask for things. I try to have a conversation with God like I would with one of my best friends. It feels like people think that prayer can only be a set combination of words even though it is simply talking with God.
When you need something you can’t be afraid to ask God. He will always give you what you need, but you have to talk to him. But God won’t just give you what you want, He will give you what you need and what is right for you.
In the scripture, Jesus says, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds;” Jesus wants us to ask him for things. We have to be open to prayer, and we must seek God when we need answers in our lives. He follows this up by saying, “If you then, who are wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good things
to those who ask him.” He knows that we are sinners, but we still give good gifts to our children. He tells us to imagine how much more God, our pure, heavenly father, would give us if we asked. We need to learn how to pray and talk to God so we can ask for and receive his goodness.
I can apply this to my life by praying to God and giving my self up to him completly and by just talking to him
God is saying he always wants us to go to him. He wants us to give up our favorite things to get closer to him. He will always love us and be waiting for us but we have to want to go to him an dbe willing to sacrifice our life for him, like he did for us. God is all loving and caring and just wants the best for us. He wants us to go to heaven with him for eternal life.
Why pray? That’s the question we all need to think about. Why do we pray? We pray to talk to God, to get closer to Him.Prayer is really important when it comes to maintaining your relationship with God if we choose to follow Him, which we should. We need to drop everything and follow Jesus, and we can do that by starting with daily prayer.
Praying will make you closer to God. We will be happier if we pray. Especially during lent I think it’s very important to pray. I think this because we give up something and it’s tempting but if we pray it will get easier and become a habit.
If we make a habbit to love God then we will be happier in the long run. Pray to God requesting joy peace and love and get just that. God wants to love us we just need to want him back to love him back to talk to him back.
If you are truely looking for Jesus he will reveal himself to you. If you knock on the gates of heaven and you wait you will be let in.
Why pray? I believe prayer is different for everyone. Some say there own prayer, some say written prayers, some sit in silence, and some might use it selfishly, as a tool to get want they want. Prayer is about talking to God and building a relationship with Him. We don’t go up to our friends/ family and say “If you help me achieve this… If you get me this… I’ll be a better person.” No, we don’t. We develop friendships simply by being together and enjoying time with a person. That’s what prayer is to me. Sitting and talking to God like he is my friend. Thanking Him for all the blessings that He has given me, adoring Him, and apologizing for when I have wronged Him. Many people go to Him like He is this almighty powerful being and we are so low; they don’t think He will give us the time of day. Maybe the don’t feel like he is there, but He is always there for us, listening. God just wants to be our friend, our companion. He showed us this when He sent His son down to be lowly with us and to help us. So, in prayer, we should go to God as our friend and develop a relationship with Him. Only then will our faith grow.
Jesus addresses prayer in the gospel today. He says, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” He means that every prayer we ask that is in accordance with God’s will, will be given to us. This is why if we ask for something- a healing, and it isn’t His will, it seems as if he hasn’t answered. He has. But there are certain words he’ll use. He may say directly, “no”, or “yes” or “wait”. And our lowly human eyes see what he didn’t give us- what He didn’t do. But He sees the future, and the “wait” can be months , or the “yes” He said in the last prayer can be years. All the prayers we have prayed are answered, and he answers them kindly. But if He doesn’t answer them in the period which we ask Him to, and give exactly what we want, we accuse Him of not being real. We shrug, and when we pray we’re imagining who it is that we’re talking to. Who is it? Is it a wall? No, it is God.
We need to quit saying were a mistake or that we don’t belong here because God made everyone for a purpose and with a purpose. God has something planned for you, you just might not know yet and to figure that out you are going to need to pray a lot and have faith in him.
I can relate this to my life because it is telling me if I am to want the help of God then I must first be willing to beg for it, and if I cannot simply help someone close to me how should I expect anyone, especially God to help me. Hi Santana:)
What I took away from this reading is that if we every need help that Jesus will alwas be there ready for you to come to him. He says, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find;knock and the door will be opened to you.” Jesus always wants to help us, we just have to open the door to let him into our hearts.
This shows me that Jesus wants the best for us. If we seek, we shall find. This does not mean seeking earthly things, but refers to seeking Him. If we go to Mass and we ask to be given grace through the sacrament of the Eucharist, we will be given the grace that we desire. This, again, does not mean asking for earthly belongings or asking for, say, food. This is asking for Jesus to bless us with His intercession and help us in growing closer to Him.
In todays’s Gosple Jesus’ makes it simple if you ask you wil recieve. So to ask God you have to pray he is saying today that nothing is doing to come to you unless you pray and talk to me. He wants us to talk to him daily. Jesus came down on this earth to save our sins so why wouldn’t we talk to him? He is our creator he created the world. So we need to respect that and talk to him everyday we neeed to welcome him into our boat. He loves us so much so we need to love him so much back in return and talk to him.
God wants us to reach out to HIm. We must seek God in our lives and ask him. God will give us the answers if we pray to him.
This gospel shows God’s generosity towards us. We are not deserving of anything but he gives us his love. God calls us to be a saint and he gives us everything we need to reach that goal.
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives.” This is a very important quote to me. It’s telling me that if I can make a habit of praying and talking to God. I will be in a closer relationship with him. It also tells me that God is not a bank and I can’t just make constant withdrawls whenever I want. I truly need to have a close relationship with him in order to get into Heaven.
God may not give us what we want but what we need. I’ve been told that line my more than I should and I can undstand why. People can become greedy if we give them what they want, they can become entiled and ask for things they don’t need and will then whine about why they don’t get what they want. God knows whats good for us and will try to help us get to Heaven and will try to get rid of the sin we have. He tries to get us to pray.
Jeasus is trying to show us how to give our selfs for others. If we are to self involved we don’t see others and what they need we only see ourselfes.
I can apply this scripture to my life by not being negative about myself and also others. God has a path for us all. We need to pray more. The scripture say if you pray you shall receive. We also need to start praying with purpose.
In this scripture reflection it is telling me that God knows and to ask and yes we might not always get the answer we want but he is just trying to protect us. He loves us so much and is willing to protect us from the things in our life that we don’t always need to know. He know everything and we just need to ask Him. He created us so he knows whats best for us.
Jesus says, “Ask and you shall recieve.”, “Seek and you shall find.” But what you shall find, will be of what you give to the ones who ask of you. Never turn your back on anyone. Always give, and there shall be a time to recieve. Go today and remind yourself of how you would feel in there shoes.
Gos wants us to trust him. If we come to him woth prayer, he will provide us with what we need. He knows everyones true desire is happiness, and if we pray and work toward a relationship with him, we will be happy. God wants us to come to him with what we want and need. He may not give you what you think you want, but he will alwyas give you what you need.
If you seek out God you will find him. If you don’t seek him out you will find something else right. For example when your mom say’s no to something you really want to do you will go ask your dad the same thing and he might say yes. But when you go behind your moms back and ask dad you basically just chose to hurt your moms feelings. Just like if you don’t pray or you aren’t close to God you are basically chosing the devil.
Gos wants us to trust in him. If we come to him woth prayer, he will provide us with what we need. He knows everyones true desire is happiness, and if we pray and work toward a relationship with him, we will be happy. God wants us to come to him with what we want and need. He may not give you what you think you want, but he will alwyas give you what you need.
God wont always give us what we ask for, but he will answer it somehow, whether that be far in the futrue or tommorow.
i can apply this to my life by praying to God. He created us for love and he wants us to be happy, and live with purpose not just exist.
Jesus said, “Do to others whatever you would have them do to you. This is the law and the prophets.” Like the Golden Rule, treat others as you want to be treated. We can’t want to be treated with respect and then not treat the other with respect. Jesus gave himself up for our sins. He didn’t ask anything in return but we give it to him anyways. We pay him back through prayer and suffering.
This Gospel reminds me not to ask God for Erthly things that wont get you or me to Heaven but Heavenly things like your vocation.
What i got from this scripture is that Jesus wants us to ask for forgiveness no matter how bad you might think your sin or sins are. you have to ask him. We must have courage, Faith, and trust in God that he wil always forgive you. “Knock and the door will be open to you.”
I can apply this to my life by remembering to spread kindness in the world. Kindness and happiness is contagious, even when one person says something kind to a few people, it could make their day. Then those people might feel the need to continue to spead kindness in the world. We could always use some happiness in our lives. Kindness is juse like Gods words and teachings. We need to spread the word of God like we spread kindness. When someone spreads the word of God, they’re telling others of Gods miracles and everthing he’s done for us. The more people spreading his word the closer we will all grow to him and be happy eternally.
In today’s scripture, I think Jesus is telling us to speak up. We can’t just sit ideally by and expect to hear Him. We need to be speaking to him and asking him questions. We won’t ever learn anything if we aren’t asking questions. Jesus is thinking of us everyday, all the time. if we just ignore Him and expect to be answered, then we will never understand anything.
I can apply this to my life by knowing that we are striving to be holy and that we want a good relationship with God. If we want a true reationship with Christ, we must pray. Through prayer, we can get closer to God and seek the truth. In the Scripture, Christ tells us that if we want to find something, we must be committed to it. Therefore, if we want to develop a good prayer life or a good relationship with Christ, we must start it now and stay committed.
If you seek a relationship with God, and you pray to become closer to him, you will be able to grow closer to Christ.
I can apply this to my life by not taking things for granted
i think the scripture is telling us that we need to come to God when we are seeking help.
God won’t give us everything we want when we want so we have to learn to pray and get closer to him to understand why.
What I learned from this scripture passage was that if we pray to God every day it will help us get closer to him and we would have a better relationship with him.
Jesus will always forgive us no matter what. No matter how little or big the sin, he’ll always forgive us when we ask him. God will also always love us no matter what. Even if you don’t love him back he’ll always be there for you.
God can provide anything, but he wont alway. Sometimes he will deney us things we want to protect us. There are many things that we want but will hurt us in the end. God will protect us from these.
God says that if you ask you shall recieve
I reflected on today’s scripture and thought to myself. If we love God then we will be happier in the long run. If we pray to God requesting joy peace and love and we’ll get just that. God is just waiting for us to come to him and for us to talk to him.
In this scripture passage, Jesus says, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” He’s telling us to come to him. I can apply this Gospel to my life by praying to Jesus and telling him everything, trusting that he always has the perfect timing.
What I can take away from this scripture passage is that if I ask then God will be there no matter when or where. We can alway rely on God to tell us what to do.All we need is a little faith.
God loves us. He wants to be with us.He cares about us and he wants us to get to Heaven. So we must pray. We have to truley ask him for help and repoent for our sins.He created us for love and he wants us to be happy, and in oder for us to be happy we have to be free of all sin,and pray to avoid the near ocasion of sin.
In today’s scripture Jesus is telling us that if we are in need we should ask for help.
God strives to have a relationship with us. He deeply wants us to be friends with him and to love him back, and he is God and he can do anything, so why would he not give us what we need?
I think that God is trying to say ask and you shall receive. Our relationship with God can’t be a one way street. We have to get to know him just like we would a friend or family member. God wants us to pray to him and talk to him. So, we have to be the ones willing to put in effort with our relationship with God.
In this reading I found these words powerful. “For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds;” I found this important because it shows that God is willing to listen to us no matter what the promblem. He is always willing to love.
Praying is like talking with your best friend. It doesn’t have to always be the memorized prayers like a hail mary. It’s just talking to God and having a conversation with him. Sometimes we overthink it.
Today Jesus is making it simple for us in the gospel, ask and you shall recevie. Needing to ask God when you need help praying and he will be there. Maybe it may not even be God he may give you someone else in the real world to help you. But God just wants you to have almost a father Daughter/Son relationship with him. He wants us to be open with him constantly and that why he gives us that ask and you shall receive advice because he wants to have us be able to be ask for things and not feel bad because he is here for us. And now i know that i can trust him with my whole heart and soul.
In this scripture passage it tells us that “Ask and it will be given to you seek and you will find knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” it said “And the one who seeks, finds” We need to seek out God. We won’t find him by sitting on our couch watching tic tok on your phone. You need to get up and truly want to seek out and talk to God. And it says “Which one of you would hand his son a stone when he asked for a loaf of bread, or a snake when he asked for a fish?” This is the meaning of selfishness. Someone asks us for something simple and we turn around and mock them and don’t even give them a second thought.
When we ask God to forgive, he forgives, when we ask him for healing, he heals, when we ask for pactience, he helps us to stay calm. This scripture teaches me when I pray for something, God will always answer. It may not be in the way you want it to be answered, but he will give you what you need to get to Heaven.
And to speak up to him.
God is willing to give us whatever we ask. But we actually have to ASK. Yeah, God knows everything but he’s not going to just automatically give us what we want just because we want it. We have to actually ask God for it. We can’t just ignore him and then when we want something just expect him to give it to us. Even when we ask, God will say no, and its not because he doesn’t love us. God loves us, and he says no to protect us. We need to ask him anyways though. We need to ask God for things if we want them, not just automatically expect them, even if God says, no, it was worth it to ask him.
I can imply this to my life by praying and spreading postivity. Spreading postivity is like spreading God’s miracles. We spread this because we want all people to have a relationship with God. Prayer is the thing to get closer to God and have a relationship with him.
I think it means when you pray it is asking to be aloud into Heaven and it is also knocking. Seek grace and you with find eternal life with God.
If we do good things we will recieve good things. like if we do somethign bad, we will almost always recieve something bad. like a punishment.
I can apply this to my life by asking God for forgivness and praying to him and ask him questions instead of ignoring him for no reason.
Jesus is saying to his diciples that ask you and you shall recieve
The gospel says that you should trust in God for all of your needs. You should trust that God will always be there for you and you should trust that he will quide you into the right path to heaven.
I can apply this to my life by praying more than usual to have a better relasionship with God. We ask god for forgiveness and he always forgives us if we are truly sorry.
Try and try again. If you are in need of God pray and ask him for help. If you are hungry knock at doors to be opened and to recieve what you ask.
Today it says if you ask you will recieve. God will always be there for us to love and forgive. In the real world it isn’t the same we shut people out and don’t help them because we think there weird or not poular. This also shows that we shouldn’t be scared of death because we will get to be with God and we won’t ever been ignored or bullied because were different. God loves all of us equally.
This gospel reminds me that God wants us to know that He will accept us any time. But, we also have to obey Him and preach His word. If we ask Him, we shall receive.
This scripture is telling me the God truly loves us. He wants to have a great relationship with us and he wants us to know we are loved.
I can apply this scripture to my life by asking God for help. In this passage today Jesus literally said ask and it will be given to you. God is willing to help me all I have to do is ask.
Today in the gospel, Jesus tells us that if we ask it will be given to us. We have to remember not to think of God that if i ask for anything, it will be given to me. God’s ways are different than ours and more reasonable. Everything that God does is the right way, so we can’t stop believing in Jesus just because we didn’t get what we wanted. I can apply this to my life by reminding myself not to take advantage of God and think that he will give me anything I want.
I think that this reading is telling us that we need to know what to pray for. We all know that if we ask for one million dollars, that God isn’t going to give it to us. We have to find what we actually need in our lives. Our needs always change though, so we have to pray just to figure out what to pray for sometimes. Other times we know what we need right away though so we just have to be open to whatever God is trying to tell us. The main point of this is that God knows what we need and that we are the one that needs to find out what we need.
We won’t miss earth. That is why we have to try so hard to get to Heaven.
We need to pray to Jesus and it is okay to ask Him to do something while you pray but you need to remember that God is in control. If he doesn’t give you what you want it is because that is what is best for you.
What stood out to me in today’s gospel was the quote, “Do to others whatever you would have them do to you. This is the law and the prophets.” We are always able to trust and rely on God to help us. But we can’t just expect Him to be there with us. We are undeserving of Christ’s grace. We cannot become lazy. “Knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” We must go out and ask God, instead of getting comfortable in our own situation.
To me in today’s Gospel Jesus is telling us to “ask and you shall receive.” This does not mean to ask for a winning lottery ticket but to pray less seflishly and pray for others and be more unselfish, just like Jesus did for us on the cross and saving us from our sins.
in this God is telling me that i should talk to him more and i think we all need to expecualy right now we have so many things happining in our life maby we sould just sit down and talk to God
In this reading Jesus tells his disciples “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” I think that Jesus is saying is that what you ask matters, because sometimes we don’t always get what we want.
I feel like that this scripture is saying that whatever you ask for eventually be given to you.
God wants a relationship with us so bad,we dont even know how bad he wants one with us. But we have to be open to him and we have to be able to sacrafice everything for him to have a relationship. We have to carry our own crosses evey day and if we cant do that then how do you expect to have a relationship with him. We also need to pray to him talk to him everyday because thats what prayer is and if we cant take 5-10 minuites out of our day to spend with God then how do we expect to be able to spend eternity with him. God is the only way to true happiness, when we are having a bad day we dont talk to him or pray to him and w ejust expect him to make our day better but thats not how it works if we are not haveing a good day its probably Gods way of tellin us that we are not makign enough time for him.
In today’s gospel Jesus tells us that if we need anything, and turn to HIm, He will give it to us. This morning I was praying, and this exact Scripture verse popped into my head. I didn’t know that today’s reading was going to be the same verses. The Holy Spirit planted that sign into my mind to remind me of His love. He cares for you too, He wants you to turn to Him so that He can hold your hand and help you along the road to heaven, like a child who needs help walking. Brothers and Sisters, I encourage you to memorize Bible verses. It has been a great component in my faith, to have verses pop up in my head at the exact moment I need to hear them. When I feel afraid, I can hear God whispering the verse, “Fear not, for I am with you.” (Isaiah 43:5). Listen to Christ’s Word and hear His voice in the words of the gospel, meant special for you.
God listens to us when we pray. When we don’t get what we asked for, we start to lose trust in God, but try your best to keep his trust. He isn’t trying to hurt you, or anything like that, but He might be testing you to see if you are worthy of His love. Everything that happens, happens for a reason. Only God knows what will come in the future, and he shaped each and every one of our lives for a specific-to-us purpose. Don’t ever feel like God doesn’t love you or doesn’t want to listen to you. HE LOVES YOU MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE IN THE WORLD. Don’t ever forget that!
In this passage this teaches us that we can not always say soething negative and that there is positive things we can do and say to people. I can apply this all by doing positive things.
Its telling us that we need to do what is right and we need to ask God for all we need
i can apply this to my life by praying more to God and listening to him
I feel like this is saying that if we ask God for it, it will soon enough come to us.
What I took from this scripture today is that we are always welcomed into Gods world and his life. When we sin he still wants use to be there and do better and not sin as much the next time and learn from your mistakes.
“Ask and you shal recieve” Jesus tells us we need to pray to him and have patients. He says “Who hands there son a rock when he asks for a snake” Just like how Jesus will not give us something bad instead of what we need as long as it is God’s will.
Praying is like humbling yourself in a way. When you pray it’s like showing God you really care and are really asking for forgiveness.
I think that it is telling me that we need to talk to God more about listening and then we need to listen to Him when he does respond.
The Gosepl is reminding me that God is always listening to me and that if I need him he is there for me and with me. He knows when we are having a bad day so he wants us to go to him so he can help us out. But how many of us actually pray? If you do then do you just go over the motions and just say the words withour thinking them through. We need to pray so we can get closer to God we need to pray because when you need him one day he will be there, but will we be there for others?
If we pray and give things like the pegans, are we any better than pegans? When He refers to bread and water, these things are also in the Bible. Pray with meaning and do not bable like the pegans.
I think this means for us to seek him and he will show himself to us. God will provide for everything that we need to get to heaven. God is very giving and he will show and give us great things if we believe and ask him.
Through this Gospel passage I think the Lord is trying to tell me that, if I ask I will recieve. God wants us to trust in Him, He wants us to be able to know that He will always be there for us and always love us. When we disobey God, He forgives us, but if we pray to God to give us something and He doesn’t give it to us right away, or at all, we are mad at God and even say things like we hate Him. But He wants us to believe in Him and trust in Him. We have to stop being so selfish and relize that if God doesn’t give us something, it’s His plan, He knows everything, and we need to believe that and put all of our trust in Him.
In today’s gospel it’s teling me if you ask you shall receive. God will always be there for us when we need him. In today’s world if someone doesn’t look right they get made fun of and that’s not how Jesus taught us to be. Praying is a gift from God and he wants to spend time with us. Jesus loves everyone the same and will love you no matter what you do.
This reading is very helpful to those who just expect things. We can’t just expect things from God like its an everyday thing. Instead we should ask. There is no harm in talking to God and trying to listen. jesus says this, “how much more will your heavenly Father give good things
to those who ask him.” God is good and He will listen and in return we will try to listen too.
Today, Jesus is telling us that God will answer our prayers. Like he says, would your father hand you a stone when you ask for some bread. Will he give you a snake when you ask for a fish. In the same way, would God kill your friend if you ask for their well being. Would God hurt your family if you ask for their save passage across icy roads. Jesus is telling us that God listenes to our prayers and he answers them. While not always right away, and not always in the way we want him to, he still answers them. God is loving, so he would have no reason not to listen to us, so why do we assum that He doesn’t hear. Would your dad ignore you if you wanted to go play catch. Would your mom ignore you if you asked for some dinner. In the same way, would God ignore you if you wanted to spend time with him. And would God ignore you if you asked for the bread of life
Why pray? I think we pray because to love God we need to talk with him. Just like we talk to our family, who we love, God is someone to talk to. Often times we use God as a slot machine because we take his power for granted. Sure he can grant all our prayers and wishes but he doesn’t because he wants to have a relationship with us. He gives us unconditional love and mercy that is without ending. We ask so many things but often don’t thank him for all he has given us.
I think that God wants us to always be happy and when we say we can’t that just shows God that you don’t believe in Him as much as you should. I hope we know that God is always trying to show us the way to be happy, and if we were to follow it then we’d know that everyone in Heaven is praying for us.
The gospel shows us that if you ask for some thing God will give you. Even though God says no maybe you don’t need it. God loves you but he will give you the best for your soul.
What this reading is saying to me is that, all we have to do is ask. Then, If we are asked, to give them back. For if we give back what they asked, we will be given more in heaven, And if we reiceve, we will reiceve the same in heaven. For God will give us what we ask when we ask. So we have to give what is asked of us.
that if you ask you can recieve through christ’ power
In todays gospel I feel like God was speaking to me. What I got from today was that if we ask for the holy spirit, or we ask for God’s grace, Go will give it to us. Also, If we give something nice to a friend or even a stranger, you might get something in return, because if you give then you will be given.
From this gospel, what I am understanding is that if we ask, we shall recieve. If we seek, we find. If we’re seeked, we are found. God is there trying to reach out to you and give you what you asked. God is trying to find you every single day.
The gospel today is telling me that Jesus will do anything for anyone. Jesus will always be there with you right by your side so whenever you are having a bad day or just need to ask Jesus something just know he is right there and will most likely answer your question. Jesus loves us and we should love him too.
what i think this scripture is saying is that if we ask or tell and talk to God we will recieve and get a response back. Jesus said,’ask and it will be given to you’. This means if we talk to God we will recieve the best back for us. This is another way of saying we need to talk to him more and spend more time with him. The more we talk to him the closer we get to him. He died for us and suffered for us, we need to know he did it because he loves us. We love him to
To me this means that if you need something from God then he will help you out with it. If you are having troubles with you friends your family, or even your parents. God will be there when you pray and ask him for help.
from us aking us things is saying that we shall recieve but we should just use God to get what we ask for we should take the time and pray to him and relise what we are saying.
today I think is showing something very important genoursity is one of the most important thing because as of you give some thing to some one in need then for you will be rewarded in heaven so you if you are not genrous than you are most likely attached to money or some thing that is not GOD
Today Jesus is telling us that we can always rely on Him. Although we can’t not just make Him do everything that we don’t want to do, He still lets us know that He is there for us. He also is tellin us that we should be kind to others. Because if you are not kind to others, they probably won’t be kind back to you. We should try and practice all of these things in the Lenten season.
This gospel is a reminder to me that God wants us to come live for eternity with Him in Heaven. He isn’t watching over us cheering when we sin. The gospel says, “Knock and the door will be opened to you.” He is ready for us to come be with Him, and He is hoping we will choose to. We should feel bad that we are choosing not to take up His great offer of being forever with Him by arguing with our parents, gossiping, making fun of people, doing and seeing innapropriate things, and just sinning.
The part that stands out to me is when it talks about how much things God can do for us. If humans, who are much worse than God, give the best gifts we can afford to our kids, then God, who is perfect and infinately better than humans, can give us the best gifts in the universe. He has already given us lots of stuff we need already in our lives, and when we get to Heaven He will give us all the other good things we want.
In this Gospel, I liked the line “Do to others as you would have them do to you” becuase I feel like it displays how we really need to be able to deal with some of the problems of today, like race and some of the politcial problems, Jesus makes it simple, do to others as you would have them do to you. You want to be judged? Then don’t judge others. Do you want to be hated? Don’t hate others. This is also really helpful, if I want to hate somone for hurting me, I have to let the feeling go, becuase I do not want to be hated. Somtimes for me this makes it feel unfair when I *AM* hated or judged, but that is just God testing to see, “will she follow my rules and follow my footsteps? Or not?”
Jesus is telling us that we need to ask for ansers, seek to find, knock to enter and ask give what is good. It seems simple but the message is there. If we want God, we have to seek him out. Jesus is already seeking us. We have to seek him out after. Then and only then will we find him. Knock of the gates of heaven by ginving what is good to those who need it. If we give a stone instead of bread or snake instead of fish, then we are wicked. Give what is good and not what is eveil. If we want to seek out God, we have to knock on the gates of heaven with our actions.
I think I can relate this to my life because I think Jesus is telling us that all we need to do for God’s love is ask and Pray. It’s simple but we get tempted by Satan with all kinds of things. Some things I can’t say here because they’re way to innapropriate. Other sins we commit daily might be something like, Ignoring your parents, stealing something from someone, being selfish and not sharing with your brothers and sisters. All of that comes over one topic, “Ask and you shall recieve”. God excepts and welcomes all into the kingdom of heaven, But we sometimes choose to ignore him just like we ignore our parents.
Today the scripture is letting me that if we need something from God, we can’t be afraid to ask. Asking God for something is literally the number one way to get it! But some times when we ask for something, God knows that it won’t be as good for you as something else. So He doesn’t give the thing you asked for to you. He gives you the thing you need. He knows yourself better than you do! Kind of like when a child asks their parents for a car, the parents won’t give it to the child because that would be EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. The child doesn’t know that. God’s will be done. Not ours.
Today the reading is telling us that we always don’t get what we ask from God but one day it will come. And when God says no he is doing it because he is a loving father that cares about us. God wants us to pray to him more.
In the scripture today God is telling us to be good to everyone. To be good to yourself, otheres, and God. The passage wants us to send prayers to God. Like it said in the Gospel “For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. Use that as encouragement.
Jesus gives us so many opportunities to be with him and we just have to be able to knock so he can open the door for us. He loves us so much and wants the best for us. Jesus sacrificed everything for us and we still hurt him. We have to fully give oursleves to him to have eternal happiness.
Jesus gives us so many opportunties to be with him, we just need to be able to knock so he can open the door for us. He wants the best for us and loves so much we don’t even know. Jesus sacrificed everything for us and we still hurt him. We have to give oursleves fully to God and we will have eternal happiness.
