Humbly submit your will to God and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary.
Jesus said to his disciples:
“Suppose one of you has a friend
to whom he goes at midnight and says,
‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread,
for a friend of mine has arrived at my house from a journey
and I have nothing to offer him,’
and he says in reply from within,
‘Do not bother me; the door has already been locked
and my children and I are already in bed.
I cannot get up to give you anything.’
I tell you, if he does not get up to give him the loaves
because of their friendship,
he will get up to give him whatever he needs
because of his persistence.
“And I tell you, ask and you will receive;
seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks, receives;
and the one who seeks, finds;
and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
What father among you would hand his son a snake
when he asks for a fish?
Or hand him a scorpion when he asks for an egg?
If you then, who are wicked,
know how to give good gifts to your children,
how much more will the Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit
to those who ask him?”
Today, Jesus reminds us to ask God for whatever we need physically or spiritually. Yesterday, Jesus taught us how to approach the Father in prayer through the Our Father prayer which has the 7 petitions to ask God the Father for everything we need. Today, I want you to reflect on what you’re asking for. Do we really have a need besides the basics that many of us have? Spiritually, we all have needs and physically we all have limitations and bad habits we are working on.
Jesus tells us if we seek the Truth (God) we will find Him. If we ask the Father for the Holy Spirit, He will give it to us. Even though God knows what you will be asking for, He wants you to ask, to make a friendship with Him, to allow Him to be your Father and help you. Jesus is with you in your prayer, He cries with you in your suffering, He rejoices with you when you feel sorrow for your sin and ask for forgiveness for this is why He died. Remember, you may not receive what you are asking for if it is not God’s will. He may be asking you to carry a cross to purify your soul in preparation for heaven or He may be testing you. He knows you and loves you more than you know and love yourself. He knows how to help you gain salvation. He wants you to participate in your salvation. Accept it with open arms and be ready to ask for His grace for the battle.
“God knows you better than you know yourself, God loves you more than you love yourself, God wants you to know His Will.” -Fr. Mike Schmitz
Today’s challenge: Allow God to help you, pray, seek, ask!
In today’s scripture Jesus is trying to tell us that we can go to God and ask him for anything. If others do not welcome us because of who we are or our friendship, we should always know that God is only a prayer away and we can tell him anything.
ask and you will receive
don’t give someone something that they didn’t ask for.
We must apply this to our lives by caring for other people and when someone asks of you you should help them and the same will be returned to you in a mass 10 fold Give and you shall receive Seek and you shall find Knock and the door will be opened to you. If we treat others with care and hospitality we will be cared for as well.
Not everything will come to you easy, that’s why when I need help I can turn to God and ask for help, and for advice or ask the Holy spirit to Guide me.
We can apply this into our life by asking ourselves “do I need this or do I want this” there’s a huge difference. We also need to realize that God wants us to do certain things like carry our cross or help others carry their cross.
What the passage is saying is that you must give unto others, for the reward for being kind on Earth is greater than any worldly treasure.
If we ask God for something than he will grant us it whether it takes years or minutes it will be granted. Some people take advantage of this like some people do.
Well I accidentally posted it twice because it said that it didn’t post but then it did so…
Today I will rely on God for everything I need. I will try to help others as well, spiritually, emotionally, and physically. I hope to serve others as Jesus did.
“The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow in anger, and of great kindness.”
Psalm 145:8
Sometimes I think that God has never given me anything at all. But then I look back and I see…God has given me everything that I need. He gave me parents, food, money, clean water, Mr Goertz, and even a life. But sometimes, I think about only what I want. I don’t even care about what I already have. I gave up video games this summer, and the impact on me has changed me forever. I like to be different, I want to discover different prayers for my life. I don’t even realize that God has already given me prayers to say, but I used to call them boring. I am still trying to find out my vocation. My closest idea is to be a priest, but then again, my dad wanted the same thing and he got my mom out of it. I give these long stories on my life because I feel that this is the right thing to do, and I will continue to do it. ??
What really stuck out to me was that we need to go the extra mile if we want to succeed in life which is ultimately heaven
I can apply this to my life by letting God into my house and praying to him and trusting him more.
Prayer to me is talking to God and making me closer to him.
If we ask God for something then he will grant us it whether it takes years, decades, or minutes it will be given. We should not take advantage of this like somepeople do. We must not be greedy. We have to trust God or nothing will happen.
when you pray to God and ask for something you shall receive, seek and you shall find, Knock and the door will be opened. Jesus always accepts us even after we killed him
I will apply this to my life by listening to God and to trust in what God does for us and with us.
I can apply this to my life by following God’s will.
I can apply this passage to my life by being good and kind to everyone.
Jesus is trying to tell me to sacrofice more things and just offer them up for Jesus
pray for me is whenever im stumped on something in life it is when i ask god for help
I can reflect on this by submit my will to God
This can be applied to our daily lives by not being selfish and giving someone what they need
If you ask something of God he will do it.
This goes into my life pretty well because it is teaching that God is always there to give all we have to do is ask. It also teaches that it is okay to ask for help even if we want to be independent we still need God.
one way I can apply this to my life is by participating in salvation and doing what is asked of me
If you are kind and are generous to those in need God will be waiting for you in heaven
Even though God knows what we want he wants us to ask for it, but we have to understand that if it is not Gods will then it will not be done.
I think we can use this in our life by remembering that if we need something spiritually and we go to Jesus for it He will help us as best as He can.
If someone asks me far something i can help if possible.
I can apply this to my life by asking God for what i need rather than what I want.
Jesus is telling us to be open and ask him for help or other things when we need it. We should also be open to helping others just as Christ would help you. I can apply this to my life by asking for God’s help more and helping others more.
I can apply this to my life by helping others that are in need, and listening to God.
I can apply this to my life by being open to God’s call. I should also ask God for any needs or supplication.
give to people in need
I can apply this to my life by being considerate of others and helping others when they are in need, and by taking them under my wing.
I will apply this to my life by not taking everything for granted and working for what I want. I need to start giving more respect to all people no matter what.
I will apply this to my life by listening to god and provide for other as he did to all of us
We should humbly submit ourselves to god, by giving needy people the things they should have.
I can apply this to my life by trusting and submitting my will to God.
I can reflect on this by praying to God and trusting him.
This teaches me that I need to be kind to everyone always, because I don’t know what they are going through.
Jesus will help me pray to him is that I have my Rosary with my Bible under or on top of my pillow. I also should pray in the morning and at night to our all mighty God Jesus Christ.
I can reflect to this by giving God all of my will and by trusting in him that he won’t let me down.
Jesus is explaining to us that he is close by, and patiently waiting for us, for he will give us what we ask for, what he has to offer, if we ask him directly.
This passage tells me that I need to be kind and do not take advantage of things. This also says to me to not assume different things too.
We have to realize that God knows who we are and He knows what his plan is for us. We have to accept it, whether we want to or not, and realize God’s will needs to be done, not ours. God we guide us toward Heaven if we let Him, it is just all about whether we allow Him into our life.
In todays scripture I think it is telling me that I need to give things up to help others. I need to not be selfish. Do not punish others to make myself feel better.
In my opinion, God is saying we need to reel ourselves out to him so we can get closer to him. We can also ask him or say anything to him. He will always be there to open the door when we knock.
God is trying to tell me today through this scripture passage is that if you ask him what you need from him, you will receive it. I should always ask for what I need from him like the virtues.
Jesus is saying if we really want to know God we have to look for him. He means that if we are truly seeking God you will find him. We can’t just sit back and expect God to come to us, we have to try our hardest. We need to actually physically try to get to heaven.
what God is saying is that if we are persistent and keep on trying no matter what happens, we will succeed.
In today’s scripture Jesus is telling us that we can go to God and ask him for anything. If others do not welcome us because of who we are or our friendship, we should always know that God is everywhere, and He is there for us to talk to, always.
We as Christian disciples are required by our faith, to give to those who are in need. We have beeing failing in this during our time on earth. This Gospel is to remind us that it is our duty and mission as members of the church to give. We must give in order to live in union with God. Therefore to be truly revealed and with Christ, we must give to those, giving our due so that he may give our due to us. Releasing this barrier in our faith, in our relationship to Christ.
I can apply this to my life by asking God for guidance.I need to remember to ask the Holy Spirit to help me too. I should keep in mind that the Holy Spirit is there for me
I can apply this to my life by knowing that Jesus is with us in prayer and that he wants you to participate in your salvation, and he knows how to help you gain salvation.
In the Scripture today,Jesus is telling us that if people don’t accept or want to be friends with you.You can always pray to God about it.
Jesus is telling us that if we ask God for help then he will help us he won’t refuse like that guy did in the story. If we just opened up then our lives would change. God won’t refuse he’ll accept us lovingly. We need to let him in.
We can ask God for anything and he will give it to us. We may have to work for it and pray on it but we will get it. We may start to think that God has given up on you but he hasn’t, he will never give up on you. You will get the thing you want as long as it is for your own good or it is for the best weather you receive it or you don’t.
I can apply this in my life buy helping people that are in need of help.
Jesus tells us that is we ask God for something He will always give it to us. He may not give it to us right away but we just have to trust Him and be patient. He also tells us that if we are generous towards other people, other people will be generous to us in return.
We are selfish. We can’t even share with our neighbor when he asks. we need to learn that to get to heaven we need to act like Jesus. Jesus would not say, hey go away I don’t care if your starving, I’m trying to take a nap. we need to act more like Jesus.
We need to be able to put our trust in God and know that he will always be there for us and loves us and if we trust in him and we ask him for what we need he might not answer us right away but he will help us if we believe in him and just to know that if he doesn’t answer us right away we have to keep asking and trust him
The scripture today is telling me to give up my all that I have to help others. That I need not selfish and to not hurt others to satisfy my own anger.
God is willing to give to us but we need to ask for help. If we do ask him for help then he will give it to us according to his will.
If we never want to try to be Christ-like, we never will be. Jesus wants us to open our hearts to Him, so one day we might be in Heaven with Him forever.
If we want to learn to know God, we need to be willing to look for Him first. If we look and ask for Him we will receive Him.
I can help those who are in need and submit myself to God and listen to his will.
We must believe that God can guide us through our lives. Without him, we would be lost. We can’t be selfish and must thank God for all he’s done for us.
Jesus is telling me to always trust him. He is telling me that he is always there no matter what. Also that He’ll guide me through good and bad situations.
We need to continue to pray for what we need in life. Even though we may not get what we want right then and there we are receiving in little bits each day of our lives. Never give up praying.
Jesus is saying that if we ask, we will receive. It might not be in the way we expected it, but he will still give it to us. He is also saying that He will never leave/close the door on us. We need to trust that He is always with us and listening to us.
The reading today is telling us to accept people. We need to accept people in our lives, even if they are different. We need to learn to be able to accept people and not be judgmental. the reading has helped me learn to not judge people and to accept them.
Jesus says “Ask and you shall receive” this is true, but only when you really need the things you are asking for. God might make you wait a bit, but He will always come through. To forget this is to forget that you are loved by Him. Just as an Earthly father wants to give you everything, so does your heavenly father. Even if your father on Earth despises you, your father in heaven will still love you.
God says to always be kind to everyone and give them what they need, no matter what the hour, because he will provide for you.
Jesus tells us that we only need to ask him what we want of him and he will give it to us. The Heavenly Father will give us what we ask for, and things we didn’t even know we wanted. We only need to ask him, and he will give us everything we want. We need to remember this in our lives and it will help us on our journey to happiness.
We should be honest in deal-making and trading. We should also persevere in our faith, and persist in whatever God tells us is the right thing to do. If we keep on persisting according to God’s Plan in life, then we will be rewarded with heaven. We should also ask God to give us the Holy Spirit and help us to know our vocation.
In today’s scripture I think it is telling me that I need to give things up to help others. I need to be humble and selfless. When we are in need of help always go to God and ask Him for His help. He is our savior, and he knows every little secret we have. Even though we don’t have what we need right then and there, he’ll eventually give it to us. Always have faith in God.
“God knows you better than you know yourself, God loves you more than you love yourself, God wants you to know His Will.” -Fr. Mike Schmitz I feel like this quote can hit hard to lots of people. If you really want to know and love yourself you have to open up and know God. If we find a sense of love for God and all those around us than we will find a sense of love within ourselves. Especially because we are temples of the Holy Spirit. Be open to God!
In this Gospel is reminds me that the road to heaven is extremely difficult, but you can not give up! Because of our fallen human nature, we sin, and we can not and will not, let the devil win. When you sin pray for more of the Holy Spirit to come and help you in this constant battle. Right now we live in a world where there is constant combat against the World, the Flesh, and the Devil who are constantly pulling us away from Jesus Christ. Remember that through God, everything is possible, and never give up on him, have Faith and Hope in him and he will not lead you astray.
In today’s message God is trying to tell us that we shouldn’t be afraid to ask Him for help. Life isn’t easy, you can turn to Him in tough times. He is always there to help guide us.
We need to ask God for help. Never be afraid to ask and open up to him. He will never fail us.
I think what God is trying to teach us is that we need to trust him because he knows us more than we know each other. We can’t be doubtful of God because he knows us and gives us free will. We need to trust Him to get to heaven because it is very difficult to get to heaven.
In today gospels, teaches us that Jesus IS the truth, Jesus will give us anything that we ask for. Jesus is always there for us no matter what. He wants us to be happy that is why he died to save us.
If we go the extra mile we will live a successful life with Christ. Also if we ask we shall receive from God.
This says to give others what they need and you will be rewarded in Heaven. All you have to do is ask and God will help you with what you need.
I think this means that we have to want to have a better relationship with God, because it can’t just come to you. Also, we need to go out of our way to pray and worship God. Such as, wanting to go to church on Sundays and getting our Bible out at home and actually reading it.
The path to freedom will have many bumps and we must reach out to God for guidance. we can’t assume that he will make the first move. We must repent repent repent
This gospel teaches us that if we pray, love, and obey the Lord, he will give us eternal life. He will save us from our sins, and bring us to him. If we persist in growing in faith we will be gathered into Heaven, not because we are simply his creation.
I think God is trying to tell us in this scripture that he wants us to help others rather than caring only about your self. I could apply this to me by thinking of other people rather than thinking only about me and how others feel
This world is a short one, so DO ALL YOU CAN! The Lord is always there and will always be right next to you. HAve you ever heard the phrase,” You miss all the shots you don’t take.?’Well thats very true, you keep telling yourself that you will pray and you will read the bible but do you really do it? You never know what might happen. A couple months ago my friend caleb got into a horrible car accident and he will never be the same again. Him and I we the best football players ever and the next thing you know he can’t play anymore. LIfe can change in a instant and we don’t take consideration of it. Life is amazing and so are you!
Jesus is telling us that seek and you will find. Ask and you shall receive. Jesus can do anything. Nothing is impossible for God. We also need to be giving to others.
This scripture passage is trying to tel us to believe and trust in God. It is also trying to tell us that if we ask for anything we need we will receive. This is very powerful because we can’t just ask for anything we want, but for what we need.
We need to give back to the poor as disciples of God. We also need to pray more so we can get to know God more deeply so we can get closer to him in heaven.
We need to be open to God’s call. We also need to carry our crosses and not complain.
If we ask Jesus for help he will help us. If we are in the dark he will help us. God will help you at anytime and he always will. If you dont turn to god he will still try to help you. God is ever forgiving
I took from the Gospel that all we have to do is ask and then we shall gain what Christ wants for us as long as we are strong in faith.
The Gospel is telling me to ask to receive, so that I may receive. And to knock on the door, so it may be opened
Life is’t easy. To succeed in life you have to care and put forth effort.
God will give us what we need if we ask him. A lot of the times we feel distant from God, and our excuse is that God has never shown himself to me in a miracle, but most of the time we also haven’t asked for one, and you are witnessing a miracle every time you go to Mass. God wants to help us, but we have to be willing to ask for his help.
I think that Jesus is saying if we ask Jesus of something like a vocation or what he calls us to do he will respond.
What the passage is saying is that we need to be kind to others, and trust in God
If you ask the Lord You shall receive, Seek the Lord and you will find Knock and the door will be open.
God is trying to tell us that we can go to god for anything but he might not fulfill what you ask for if it is not in his plan.
“And I tell you, ask and you will receive;
seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks, receives.” I love this saying, my dad actually uses this a lot! What this means to me is that ANYTHING that you ask God, he will always answer it! Even if you ask him for a ‘My Little Pony doll’ HE WILL ANSWER THAT, TOO! But…. maybe not in the way you intended it to be. God is always right there when you pray, you can really ask him anything and you will receive.
This scripture tells me to trust God and he will be there for us.
I can apply this to my life by trying to be more grateful and only seeking what i need and not constantly wanting the new Lego set or other worldly things that do nothing but entertain me. I should start seeking the things that will help me get to heaven which is the most important thing in my life.
I can apply this to my life by asking God fro what I need spiritually and trusting in him.
We must always do things out of the kindness of our heart. Whether we want to or not. God will give us everything we need, he always had and he always will. We just need to pray.
I can apply this to my life by following Gods will.
The scripture taught me that I should put complete faith in God so that He can provide for me. “Ask and you shall receive” teaches me that if I put my faith in God that he will give me all that I need. If I truly need something in my life, God will give it to me.
In today scripture, God is telling me to give up things to those in need. If I do this, God will help me in times when I’m in need.
From this particular passage I took that God wants to be my friend. He wants me to ask for forgiveness and friendship. God will help us as a true friend would. A true friend like Christ would sacrifice for his friend. If we ask, we shall receive of him. God would give us anything (if it is good for us).
In today’s Gospel Jesus is telling us to be open to his call through our hearts soul and mind. Like MR. Goertz said we need to be open through his call spiritually and physically.
This helps me to know that if I give big or little things to people it is still a huge help to them God helps us by protecting us from the evil and always watching out for each and every one of us we should always love him and give him trust in everything he does.
we need to care more about others and help them when we can
Jesus is reminding that if we ask God for something, we will receive. God’s largest desire is for his daughter’s and sons to be united in heaven with him, and because of this, in today’s scripture he explains that if we ask God, we could receive.
God is trying to tell me he will always help me no mater what.
We need to know God. Not to know of Him bu tot truly know him. We need to be humble and kind so we can make our way to heaven to have eternal happiness with God.
