Humbly submit your will to God (thy will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
A certain Pharisee invited Jesus to dine with him,
and he entered the Pharisee’s house and reclined at table.
Now there was a sinful woman in the city
who learned that he was at table in the house of the Pharisee. Bringing an alabaster flask of ointment,
she stood behind him at his feet weeping
and began to bathe his feet with her tears.
Then she wiped them with her hair,
kissed them, and anointed them with the ointment.
When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this he said to himself,
“If this man were a prophet,
he would know who and what sort of woman this is who is touching him,
that she is a sinner.”
Jesus said to him in reply,
“Simon, I have something to say to you.”
“Tell me, teacher,” he said.
“Two people were in debt to a certain creditor;
one owed five hundred days’ wages and the other owed fifty.
Since they were unable to repay the debt, he forgave it for both. Which of them will love him more?”
Simon said in reply,
“The one, I suppose, whose larger debt was forgiven.”
He said to him, “You have judged rightly.”
Then he turned to the woman and said to Simon,
“Do you see this woman? When I entered your house, you did not give me water for my feet,
but she has bathed them with her tears
and wiped them with her hair.
You did not give me a kiss,
but she has not ceased kissing my feet since the time I entered. You did not anoint my head with oil,
but she anointed my feet with ointment.
So I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven;
hence, she has shown great love.
But the one to whom little is forgiven, loves little.”
He said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”
The others at table said to themselves,
“Who is this who even forgives sins?”
But he said to the woman,
“Your faith has saved you; go in peace.” Lk 7:36-50
Jesus teaches us today without love and mercy, one will not enter heaven. These two actions are intertwined so completely that they make up the fiber of God’s nature. God did not need to create us, He is God. He needs nothing. He is complete in Himself and we can not add anything to Him. He is made up of love and wanted to share it. We are the creation that is a result of this overflowing love. We are made in God’s image and likeness along with our parents, who loved each other so much that they decided to give one another themselves in the vocation of marriage.
I suck at forgiving. I am stubborn and hard-headed. I think I am always right! Thank God he gave me a big heart and is good at slapping humility on me often. The woman bathed Jesus’ feet with tears. When is the last time you cried in the confessional? Me either. Every sin hurts God and will have to be repaid. We must truly be sorry and continue to work on our limitations and sinful habits. St. Teresa of Avila said, “Don’t allow your sins to become bad habits!” This is the journey to sainthood!
When is the last time God didn’t forgive you when you asked Him to? Why do we judge, talk about others, be mean, and live selfishly? We are all in the same boat and have faults. Begin healing your relationships with forgiveness, embrace someone today like Jesus does for you in the confessional each time you have the courage to come back and face your sins.
At that moment, we begin to understand true love and boy does it feel good, even overwhelming at times. Thank you God, send us your grace so we may reflect you better. Amen!
Today’s challenge: Forgive, feel the burden released, and experience love and joy. Tears will flow!
Be a servant, become a saint!

I can apply this to my life by forgiving people who hurt me. I can also apologize to people that I’ve hurt.
I can take from this that I should be more forgiving.
Forgiveness is a gift from one person to another. Giving gifts to another makes someone happy. If someone doesn’t forgive, the other person won’t know that happiness.
Jesus forgives all of your sins even if they are really bad.
This scripture showed us that when we are in public we can not judge people because they act out in society because they might be acting out for a reason maybe because they are stressed or a loved one just passed. We can not judge anyone because they are different than us because everyone in society has their own normals.
In the scripture today, Jesus tells us to forgive people no matter who they are or where they’re from.
It does not matter who we are or how bad of a sin we committed Jesus will still love us
This tells us that if we truly love and repent God will forgive. If we are truly Sorry and come to God seeking forgiveness he will show mercy. The Pharisees he dined with questioned him while the sinful sorrowful woman was saved by her faith. Do not question the work of the Lord for by your faith you will be saved.
This reading teaches all of us that we need Jesus’ mercy and forgiveness to have a relationship with him and get to Heaven. We are all sinners. We are all in control of our actions and our words . Sometimes what we choose to do is very sinful and we need God’s grace to become holy again.
I can apply this to my life by taking anyone in and helping them with something, whatever they need. Because without love and mercy no one will enter Heaven.
I think that Jesus is trying to tell us that we shouldn’t think we’re better than anyone. We’re all sinners. If someone seeks forgiveness for their sins, then we shouldn’t withhold it from them because we think what they did was bad. Jesus teaches us to forgive, just as he forgave the woman in the Gospel today.
Jesus is telling us that we need to love more and be there for each other when we need it. We have to have mercy and love to get into Heaven. We also need how to start loving each other more. We need to forgive more.
i can apply this to my life by knowing that no matter what we can be forgiven and we can come back to Jesus and be forgiven.
I think that today’s Gospel teaches that we need to show love and mercy. We can see that since God has always forgiven us if we ask for forgiveness, so I think that we should forgive others of their trespasses. I think that it teaches that don’t judge or you will be judged yourself. We all sin so since when was it our place to judge others for we have sinned. We are sinners so it isn’t our place to judge others of their sins. It is God who shall judge us because he has no sin, and he is perfect. I believe that we should love others and have mercy on others because Jesus also loves and forgives us. The woman in the Gospel was a sinner, and the pharisee judged Jesus for letting the woman touch him. I love how Jesus showed love and empathy towards the woman and forgave her sins because she showed love to him. I learned that we should love and show mercy to others. I also learned that I shouldn’t judge others for I am a sinner and isn’t my place to judge.
One thing that I can take away from this scripture passage is to be truly sorry for my sins and to really try not to do them again. Most of the time we take confession for granted and we just go, tell the priest our sins, and go out and do them again. We really need to put in effort and hard work to break the bad habits of sin that we have formed, so we can get to our final destination, heaven.
In this scripture I realize I should let God into my life more. I should go to confession more often. I should make more time for God and pray every day.
As humans we are sinners. But if we are truly sorry, show faith in God, and show love, He will forgive us. God loves us and He wants us to be with Him in Heaven. If we forgive other people here on Earth, we are being like Christ because that is what he would do and it is also a way to get to Heaven.
Jesus is met by a sinful women who washes His feet in her tears, dries His feet with her hair, and anoints His feet with ointment. The Pharisee say, “If this man were a prophet,he would know who and what sort of woman this is who is touching him, that she is a sinner.” Jesus knows this women is a sinner, but he also knows that the women seeks true forgiveness. Jesus asks Simon, “Two people were in debt to a certain creditor; one owed five hundred days’ wages and the other owed fifty. Since they were unable to repay the debt, he forgave it for both. Which of them will love him more?” Simon answers that the one with the larger debt would, which is correct. Jesus continues this by saying “But the one to whom little is forgiven, loves little.” Meaning, those who feel like very little was forgiven from them won’t be as grateful as those who acknowledge that they have a lot of sins and truly want forgiveness.
There is no sin that God won’t forgive, as long as we are truly sorry. We need to stop our sins from becoming bad habits so that we don’t find ourselves being crushed by that weight.
Like they said we need to stop be so hard headed and sometimes to to forgive the person. so basically I learned we need to forgive.
Jesus forgives the woman. She went right up to him, to his feet, and it’s a simple fact to say it. When I was reading through our gospel, it all just swung down on me- the simplicity of the process. It’s what Jesus gave this women. I was marveled by it. Somebody who can love and have mercy will be mercifully judged on themselves.
This scripture helped me understand that no matter how many sins or how bad of a sin we commit Jesus will always for give us if we are truly sorry. He is overflowing with love and forgiveness and so like him we should forgive others when they do something to hurt us in a way. We should love others just as Jesus loves us.
I can apply this to my life by going out and trying to forgive all that I have hurt so that I can live a better life with no guilt
This passage is telling me that we are supposed to be like the woman to an extent. We need to be sorry for our sins no matter how many we commit.
What i got from todays Gospel is that Jesus teaches us to not judge others, and instead forgive them for what they did. If you judge someone you are likely to get judged yourself. And everyone should ask for forgivness not matter how bad their sins are.
The woman touching Jesus was a sinner. Everyone was judging her based on that. We shouldn’t be quick to judge because we’ve all sinned, some more than others. It isn’t our place to judge. Even if Jesus will just forgive us.
I can apply this to my life knowing that i need to forgive and forget. I don’t need to hold something over their head when they already tried to ask for forgiveness. God never did that and most likel never will.
Jesus said in the reflection that we need to forgive people because down inside of then they are good people, they just need a chance. What I can take away from this is to no be so hard on people and forgive them.
This scripture shows that Jesus and God are willing to forgive all. We all need to be more like Jesus and forgive.
I can reflect on this by knowing, no matter how great the sin, no matter how small, Jesus forgives us all the same. Even if it is a small sin or the biggest sin to commit, I should praise and thank God for having mercy on my soul.
I can apply this scripture to my life by forgiving anyone even if it is so bad, i doesn’t matter cause that’s what Jesus wants from us. He wants us to be forgiving. No matter how much sins we will ever have Jesus will always be there to forgive us.
God’s forgiveness and mercy will always be with us. No matter how big or small of a sin, He will always forgive us. We should be more like him and forgive others when they do something wrong. We should also take responsibility for our mistakes.
Jesus tells us that whoever is forgiven doesn’t care as much as a sinner. We shouldn’t judge anyone or else we will be judged.
I can apply this to my life because I know that no matter what i do God will always forgive what ever sin I have. Jesus said to the Woman “Your faith has saved you: go in peace.” Jesus is saying that if we have faith then we will be saved.
Jesus tells us a story of two men with debts, and both were forgiven. Whoever has sinned, it does not matter how bad or how many sins you commit, Jesus will always forgive. There is no limit to Jesus’ forgiveness. This means that we should always confess our sins and receive penance for the forgiveness of our sins. When the woman bathed and anointed Jesus’ feet, she was forgiven, while the pharisee did none of this. This shows that if we are willing to confess our sins, Jesus will always forgive.
In today’s scripture Jesus says the without love and mercy one will not enter heaven. Jesus forgives all sins even if they are really bad.
We are all sinners. We can’t judge someone for their actions, we must forgive those who wrong us.
I can apply this to my life by showing my love and mercy to other and God. God forgives us for our sins and has saved us. I need to be more grateful and remember all the God has done for me. In addition, I can forgive others when they have wronged me and not hold it against them. To be more like God and grow closer to him.
In today’s scripture Jesus is reminding us that we take many things for granted. We think that if we sinned a tiny little sin we don’t have to ask for forgiveness and we don’t have to repent. All sins should be followed by repentance because every sin we commit hurts God. Another thing that He is teaching us is to not judge others. This sinful woman walks into the house and bathes Jesus’ feet and asks for repentance while everyone around the table is disgusted that Jesus is in contact with this woman. Jesus loved her above all her sins so we should love her and overlook her issues because we all have them.
Today’s scripture Jesus is talking to us and urging us to go to church so that we may be closer to him and share in his mercy.
Today we are to go out a forgive people for there dept. We are to help them and be friends with them. Forgiving big dept is even harder but go out and do it.
I can apply this to my life by forgiving others. I know it is hard to forgive others, especially if they did something to you, but we should be like Jesus. We should love each other by forgiving. Every time we sin, God forgives us through the Sacrament of Confession. To be more like Him, we should forgive.
We need to not be as hard headed. We should be able to for give others for there sins not shame them. Jesus is ready for us to tell him our sins, He is ready to forgive us. But we need to rember you get your sins forgiven so forgive others for theres. We arent better than anyone either. So listen when people talk and dont ignore them.
I can reflect on this scripture by not judging people if I don’t know the full picture.
I can apply this to my daily life by helping anyone who needs help and not judging them while doing so. Because with out love, forgiveness, and mercy we can’t enter Heaven.
I can apply this to my life by rembering that everyone is human and we make mistakes so we need to forgive them.
In today’s scripture Jesus is telling us that we need to be more forgiving.
In this passage I feel Jesus is trying to tell us about forgiveness. As Catholics we are called to forgive others. None of us are perfect and we all make mistakes that we very much regret. Jesus forgave the women and we must forgive people in our lives.
This scripture today has taught me you can’t just say “I forgive you”, you have to show kindness, love and compassion. God has shared his love with us, therefore I think we should love and forgive one another.
This scripture is telling us that we need mercy and love to enter Heaven. We need to forgive more, other people need to be forgiving to others. We can’t just walk away from not forgiving, Jesus always forgave people.
In this scripture Jesus says that he will always forgive us if we ask.
Love is enough to be fogiven, like this women in the story. she had sinned so much, but was forgiven for the affection she showed. As long as we are truly sorry, our sins will be forgiven.
How I can reflect on the scripture is by knowing that no matter what you do you can be forgiven if you believe that he can forgive you and all you do to hurt him.
Jesus is trying to tell us to forgive even the people who have been bad. So today forgive and he will forgive you.
In the scripture today it tells us that God created us out of love. He doesn’t need us because he’s already all mighty but he made us because his love is so great.
Forgiving others is very much necessary in life. If you don’t forgive someone, you’ll lose touch with them. But more importantly, you need to forgive yourself. Remember that you are indeed a sinner, and make mistakes, but you know that God loves you with such a powerful and undying love that he’d do anything to be with you.
I can be more forgiving like Jesus. we need to stop thinking about ourselves and start forgiving.
In this passage A women is so happy because Jesus forgave her sins and took away her debt, I can take away from this that I should be able to forgive people of whatever that hurts me and forgive the person or whoever hurts me just like Jesus did.
This scripture passage describes a sinful woman going to Jesus and crying on his feet. The people around Jesus tell him that he should push her away, but Jesus says no. We are like that woman; we are sinful, but Jesus will always welcome us home and forgive us. I can apply this scripture passage to my life by forgiving others, just as Jesus forgives us, and to not be so quick to judge others.
I can apply this Scripture to my life by forgiving the sinner. We all make mistakes and sin, but we must forgive to have a good relationhship with Jesus and get to Heaven. We have to stop judging people for sinning, because you never know what they are going through. We must forgive and love them.
The scripture is telling us that like Jesus, we need to have compassion and forgiveness and know that we sin too. We need to be able to forgive others that may have wronged us in the past and learn to follow Jesus and give ourselves up to the Holy Father to take away our sorrow.
I take away from this that we should be the most grateful to those who help us in our lives. This man, Jesus, who’s feet were cleansed by the prostitute saw that this woman still had the love needed to be forgiven. She had the strength to acknowledge the sins that she had committed and went to this man who healed. This forgiveness could only be gifted by the one who is pure in heart. When we forgive some one we still hold a grudge whether i be great or small. But this man forgave her completely of the sins she had came upon.
I can aply this by trying my best but to still take a moment to think about what I have done throughtout the day and try to ask those I may have hurt for forgiveness.
Jesus tells us that no matter how great, our sins will be forgiven. We have to be truly sorry for our sins.
Jesus forgave a woman sins then and there she bathed his feet with her tear and used her hair to dry them she kisses his feet and gave him ointment. these things Jesus loved and in return he said to her go your sins have been forgiven. He then told the man this woman did everything in her power that i expect and her sins where forgiven. She was a sinner but now was forgiven
In this scripture jesus forgives the sinner. this tells us that we need to forgive people as well. and it tells us no matter what we do jesus will always forgive us becasue he loves all of us. he is our father.
The scripture tells us that we should forgive anyone who has done something wrong to us even though it may be hard Jesus loves you so he will give you the strength to forgive. You just have to believe in him.
And also God will forgive you the same you forgive other people no matter how big or small the sin is.
This scripture is telling me that no matter how many or how big my sins are I will always forgive.
Nice, Hiepson!!!
I can apply this to my daily life by letting God in my life more praising him letting him in rejoicing him. God created us out of love not hate so stop hating stop judging others we should love one another even if we don’t like then because oh they did that or how come i wasn’t there we should love not hate.
We should be more forgiving than we have been in the past, including forgiving our parents, teachers, and friends.
This scripture is telling me to forgive others for their wrongs as I hope they would forgive me when i make a wrong. I am a sinner and I want to be forgiven by those I hurt and if that is how I want to feel, I have to forgive others as well.
I can use this in my life. I can try not to sin anymore, but if I do I will have to go to confession so God can forgive me and my sins. This also taught me to forgive the ones who have hurt me.
i should treat others with kindness and care, and to forgive people and not hold grudges and love them because maybe some people needs to be given love but wasn’t provided by anyone.
This passage makes me think that we should not not forgive somebody and love them the same because we sin and God forgives us and loves us the same.
I can apply this to my life by forgiving people who have hurt me and say sorry to anyone I have hurt.
The scripture tells us that God will forgive us no matter how big or small the sin was you just got to be sorry for it and He will have mercy. If Jesus is that forgiving we should all be because we are supposed to look up to Him and do what He did when he was on Earth.
I can apply this to my life by forgiving people that have been rude to me and forgive them. I can also say sorry to people that i have hurt in the past.
I think i can apply this too my life for forgiving a sinner.
Today, God teaches us that all sins are forgivable, and no sin too big can’t be forgiven as long as we are truly sorry. What stuck out to me was when Jesus tells Simon that the sinful woman can be forgiven because she truly felt sorry and repented and walked in weeping and washing his feet in his tears, while Simon didn’t come in kissing him or anointing his head with oil.
I think that this scripture is about how all of us are sinners and it doesn’t matter if you have big sins or little sins, God will always forgive them. We need to be more like the woman because she was truly sorry for all of her sins while the Pharisee is not very sorry.
I can relate to this gospel passage and reflection because I struggle with the same thing. I don’t want to cry in front of people or make myself look lowly. Jesus shows me that It’s okay to show emotion. He has showed me that emotion can draw us to him. So don’t be afraid to express your feelings. This gospel tells me that I don’t need to be afraid of humiliation, that if I have God, nothing else in the world matters. Fear doesn’t matter, anxiety, sorrow. They don’t matter. God will work through our weaknesses, we just have to let HIm.
Jesus is telling us today that no one can enter heaven without having love and mercy on one another. I can apply this to my life by always forgiving even when it is hard to and to always love.
i feel like this is just a reflection of mass we beg for mercy then he forgives us but we don’t do what the sinner does she goes to where Jesus is and washes his feet it helped me understand how grateful and powerful he was we couldn’t understand
My main take away from this gosple is I need to look for as many oportunintys to forgive others if I want to love God fully.
Good Job!!!
I think it means that Jesus loves everyone not just one person
I can apply this to my life with forgiveness.
i think that this means no matter what we do, Jesus will love us
I think this gospel means that we should be more forgiving of others and shouldn’t hold grudges against those who have hurt us.
I think this scripture meant to me today is that we should not take time to judge and be hypocrites. Instead we she should thank God and love one another, and treat others like we want to be treated. Loving and caring, I think, is the greatest thing us humans can do besides worshiping and praising the Lord.
I think this means that even if u make the smallest or biggest sin Jesus will still love u. If u are truly sorry for your sins then Jesus will forgive your 1 or many sins u have made.
In today’s Gospel we are called to forgive one another, no matter the price or what they did to you we need to show one another love.
Jesus is showing that no matter how much or how big the sins are he will forgive the if you are TRULY sorry
what i got from today’s Gospel is god will always forgive you no matter how bad you are. And don’t be so hard on one another.
I learned that we need to forgive and not judge others.
I feel like Jesus is trying to tell me to be humble and forgive others and then they will forgive me. Jesus loves everyone not just me, or my classmate, or people who are super holy and do almost nothing wrong. God loves everybody no matter what!!
In the scripture it tells us that heaven is a place we want to strive for. It tells us that grace is the way to get there
I think God is telling us that he will forgive us if we are truly sorry no matter how big the sin is.
I think it means that jesus love everybody in the world and it also tells us to forgive other people
Jesus is telling us That all sins can be forgiven no matter how bad as long as you are truly sorry. And we should strive to forgive others in the same way.
God created us to share his love, but some people use that love and abuse it. If we have sinned, God will forgive! We need to use that love and share it with others too, like God did for us. Anyone can relate to this, like when you lie to your parents or mean to your siblings and friends. Everyone tries hard not to sin but it still happens anyway. St. Teresa of Avila said, “Don’t allow your sins to become bad habits!”, and you won’t have bad habits if you go to confession and are kind to each other. I’m going to work on this, I hope you do too!
Great summary Lila, I agree 100%!
If you do not forgive, you do not love. Loving is the most important thing. Without love, you cannot get to heaven.
“Bringing an alabaster flask of ointment, she stood behind him at his feet weeping and began to bathe his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them, and anointed them with the ointment.” These sentences stuck out to me because she knew that she was a sinner so when she was anointing Jesus’ feet she felt all of her sins that she has made.
i think this is a reading to not judge for what some one has done because that is gods job and no else so we should not be judge people at all
If you ask me then this means alto to me, But i will Just say what sticks out the most. Forgive and you shall be forgiven, Get that through your heads people.
God is telling me today that i should pay attention to the non wealthy or the non loved and to take care of whoever needs care
Jesus is saying be forgiving no matter who it is.
God created to love, forgive and have mercy. Some people, however think that they are higher than us and act on it. We should forgive those who have done something wrong, have mercy, and then love them.
This gospel is telling me that if you are really hard on someone and give them a lot of criticism, they will think that is the right way, and go do the same to others. Something as simple as telling someone that they’re not doing something right might not be such a simple thing, it can affect other people too. Really think about what you do before you do something.
I can apply this to my life by not hurting anyone and if i do then i need to make sure to apologize and whoever hurts me i should forgive them.
Jesus speaks to me in this reading, because he is FORGIVING! I will not lie, I do not like to go to confession, but I feel so much better afterward. This is Jesus’ invitation to me! The woman in the story had the courage to throw herself at the feet of Jesus, and I hope I can have the courage to do that too.
Jesus is telling everyone that sin can be forgiven and He created us with so much love so that we can pretty much share his love. If we share it right, everyone can be very loved. They can feel that they are loved.
Just forgive someone don’t judge them.
This gospel taught me that no matter how big or little the sin is God will always forgive us. And that we should forgive others, even if they hurt us really badly.
Jesus is telling us to forgive anyone who has ever hurt you even if you have never done anything to them.Forgive them for what they have done to you no matter how much it hurt you.God forgives anyone and everyone for every bad decision they have done so we should do the same to everyone else around us.
Some people are not good at forgiving, and some people do it often. Jesus is calling us to forgive one another. Wether or no you have a big huge debt, or one on a lesser scale. Forgive others and they will forgive you.
I can apply this scripture to my life by forgiving people and trying to be friends or something nice to them.
God will always forgive us, so we should try forgive others.
If you aren’t honest to people then they will not like you as much and won’t trust you
If you are rude to people then we say we are sorry for being mean.
What I take away from this scripture is that forgiving is loving, or, to put it into other words, to love is to forgive. If forgiveness is love, and it is, we should all try to forgive more. I am going to try to forgive more, to try to be more like Jesus.
I can put this in my life by forgiving others and saying I am sorry to people I hurt.
you may not want to forgive the people that have done sometjing to you but think that Jesus forgives us and we need to forgive the people that have done something to us
its basically saying that forgive others that you dont want to forgive
