“PEOPLE BROUGHT TO HIM A BLIND MAN AND BEGGED JESUS TO TOUCH HIM.” MK 8:22-26

Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.

When Jesus and his disciples arrived at Bethsaida,
people brought to him a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him.
He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village.
Putting spittle on his eyes he laid his hands on the man and asked,
“Do you see anything?”
Looking up the man replied, “I see people looking like trees and walking.”
Then he laid hands on the man’s eyes a second time and he saw clearly;
his sight was restored and he could see everything distinctly.
Then he sent him home and said, “Do not even go into the village.” MK 8:22-26

The cure of the blind man continues the meaning of yesterday’s Gospel in which the Apostles did not understand, see, or trust Jesus. They were lacking faith.  Jesus is slowly revealing Himself as the Messiah, not another prophet.

“May the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ
enlighten the eyes of our hearts,
that we may know what is the hope
that belongs to his call.” EPH 1 17:18

Faith is a complete gift from God, ask Him to increase faith, hope, and love in you.  The one thing that changes everything is belief and stirs these theological virtues within us.  God, increase our faith in you! Jesus, I believe, help my unbelief.

Today’s challenge: Beg Jesus to touch our hearts and open our eyes so that we may see Him at work in our lives and all around us.

Be a servant, become a saint!
