Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary.
Do not ignore this one fact, beloved,
that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years
and a thousand years like one day.
The Lord does not delay his promise, as some regard “delay,”
but he is patient with you,
not wishing that any should perish
but that all should come to repentance.
But the day of the Lord will come like a thief,
and then the heavens will pass away with a mighty roar
and the elements will be dissolved by fire,
and the earth and everything done on it will be found out.
Since everything is to be dissolved in this way,
what sort of persons ought you to be,
conducting yourselves in holiness and devotion,
waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God,
because of which the heavens will be dissolved in flames
and the elements melted by fire.
But according to his promise
we await new heavens and a new earth
in which righteousness dwells.
Therefore, beloved, since you await these things,
be eager to be found without spot or blemish before him, at peace.
As we continue our journey through Advent to prepare for the coming of the Lord, St. Peter gives us some great wisdom. “Do not ignore this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years
and a thousand years like one day.” God is not bound by time. He sees and knows everything in our lives collectively as a whole. Therefore, He is patient with us and He gives us the great gift of time to come to know who He is and then we must make a decision. Repent and change our lives emptying ourselves and making room for Him, or being selfish. Once we have made a decision to repent we will live for God and other as servants as Jesus did for us. Peter teaches us how to conduct ourselves once we have made this decision to live in Christ, “what sort of persons ought you to be, conducting yourselves in holiness and devotion, waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God”. We became holy at our baptism through the death of Christ on the cross. Our original sin and personal sin is taken away. Now we fight our personal sin and it is forgiven each time we receive the Eucharist and go to confession. We conduct ourselves in holiness and devotion when we pray, receive the sacraments, go to adoration, and serve others. Making a decision to follow Jesus will require sacrifice and persecution, but He promises joy and peace. “But according to his promise we await new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. Therefore, beloved, since you await these things, be eager to be found without spot or blemish before him, at peace.”
Today’s challenge: Receive the Eucharist and spend time in silent reflection with Christ in you reflecting on the areas of your life that are not at peace. Invite Jesus into those areas and allow Him to work in your life. Repent, go to confession, and change your life making a decision to have a more resolute heart preparing your heart for the coming of the Lord.

What this passage is saying to me is that we need to be patient. We need to be patient for small and big things is our life. So if we wait something good will happen.
To me this gospel is showing that God is always with us. His love is always with us and he will always be by our side. Sometimes we don’t always feel like God is with us. Sometimes we are so impatient and angry that we blow up on him. Patience is wonderful. We have to have that patience to see God in a full image. For most of us we can’t see God all at once. But if we are patient and slowly see the parts of God and put them together. We are going to be able to build a better relationship with God.
