Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
Lifting up his eyes to heaven, Jesus prayed saying:
“Holy Father, I pray not only for them,
but also for those who will believe in me through their word,
so that they may all be one,
as you, Father, are in me and I in you,
that they also may be in us,
that the world may believe that you sent me.
And I have given them the glory you gave me,
so that they may be one, as we are one,
I in them and you in me,
that they may be brought to perfection as one,
that the world may know that you sent me,
and that you loved them even as you loved me.
Father, they are your gift to me.
I wish that where I am they also may be with me,
that they may see my glory that you gave me,
because you loved me before the foundation of the world.
Righteous Father, the world also does not know you,
but I know you, and they know that you sent me.
I made known to them your name and I will make it known,
that the love with which you loved me
may be in them and I in them.”
Jesus Christ’s prayer to the Father today is about unity. He is still praying with the Apostles at the Last Supper. As Jesus is one with the Father in the Holy Trinity, so He is praying for the Apostles and us to be one with Jesus and the Father. Every baptized soul is united to God and we make up the mystical body of Christ; Christ is the head and we are the body guided by the Holy Spirit (if you ask). Jesus Christ came to marry the human and divine, to unify us with the Trinity. When we bring our souls to God’s grace, pray, love the unlovable, fast, ask for mercy, forgive and ask for forgiveness, live unselfishly we help the body, when we sin and don’t come to God’s mercy and grace we hurt the body.
We have 70-80 years to move on earth as the Mystical body and do good which will leave the next generation something special physically and spiritually or a loss of faith, a country in turmoil, and nature that is better or worse off than we left it. Jesus wants nothing but for every generation to know Him so we may one day be back with the Father. He wants it so much He came to us to die. His love is the most powerful thing in the world, it transforms people, and in return transforms the world. Every generation needs saints, are you ready to answer the call?
God has given us everything we need through His Son. Jesus has fulfilled His mission through His death and resurrection, we have began ours with baptism, may we finish it with sainthood by doing the will of God each day.
Today’s challenge: Work for unity with God, your family, your friends, your classmates and coworkers, and your community. How? Be a servant as Jesus was for us in obedience to the Father!
I think this is kind of the message we need at this point in time. Everyone’s so split on “This or that” that we’re sometimes not exactly… associating with each other as often. Despite our opinions, we all have to remember that we are Christians, and Christians must stay together.
Jesus loves everyone no matter who they are, all he wants back is to be loved in the same way.
I can apply this to my life by praying for others intentions not just mine, and i can pray to Jesus or Mary for forgiveness.
God wants you in heaven. He wants to see you there and know your face. All we need to do is listen to God and do as he has said. Then and only then may we obtain eternal happiness in heaven. The only way to true joy is through God. God wants us to have true joy he wants us, all we have to do is love and want him back.
I can apply this to my life by always being united with Jesus in my heart.
This passage allows for those who have taken the hardship of being with Christ, so that they can “be one”. I believe that this may be the reason I write. It allows those who do to access a power that none can access. Love. I guess this is quite cheesy, but love is quite powerful. It changes lives! Being one allows for people to put their minds together and create something, whether the human race, or the next math formula, or another book! 😀
God and Jesus are always with you through tough times and good times. They are always watching over you and they see everything that you do and they always forgive you.
God is saying that he’s always with us and that he is always in us at all time and will always be with us. And that we are one person together. We are one with God.
This Gospel shows me that Jesus truly loves us. He always wants to share his love with us. He wants us to be with him always. He says to his Father that he wants us to be unified with him as he is with his Father. As Jesus loves us we must also show our love towards others to be the light and reflection of Jesus in you.
I feel that unity is one of the things that a lot of people miss out on. I think that it is something that we need to work on more and more every day. Unity brings us together with our parents, our friends and our community but most importantly, Jesus.
In today’s scripture, Jesus said, “Holy Father, I pray not only for them, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, so that they may all be one” Jesus uses the word “them” to refer to all the people who believe in him. He states that he prays for them, meaning that Jesus loves who believes in him. Additionally, Jesus says that he will pray for those who “believe in their word”, meaning people who are not of the faith yet but hear the stories of him and start to believe. Jesus shows that he loves everyone, even people who don’t believe in him yet, and that he is praying for all of them. He wants to unify us so that we may all be one family on Earth and come closer to God so we can get to Heaven together.
This scripture is talking about how God loves all of us and not leaving anyone to be unloved. I can put this scripture in my daily prayer life by knowing that someone loves and no one is loved.
I can apply this to my life by praying to the Trinity and ask for mercy and to help guide me in prayer
I can apply this to my life by, praying to the Father.
One thing that I can take away from this gospel is to remember to read the bible and learn about our church as a community. Catholic means universal, and if I am just in my little bubble and never try to be part of the community of our church, then I am not really living the universal part of my faith. This is also a good time to remember to try and keep the faith alive in my friendships. It is a great source of joy to have good Catholic friends, and when they help you become the best holy person you can be, and when you can do that for them, it is truly great.
Jesus loves us. He is literally praying for us to be with Him. It’s crazy how much Jesus loves and cares for us. He wants the best for us, and He wants us to be united to Him and the Father.
We should all spend our time here on the Earth sharing the light of Christ and spreading his word but you first have to be open to his call and his will. We need to grow close to God and build up a relationship with him so that we can do that. We should all spread his word because then other people will have the chance to be with him.
God loved us before we even existed on this earth. We were made in His image and likeness. We must love God back and treat others with respect because we are all God’s creation.
We need to work for unity with God, your family, and your friends. God has given us everything through his son. Jesus has fulfilled His mission through His death and resurrection, we have began ours with baptism, may we finish it by doing the will of God each day. I think that the more you talk and pray to God that the better your life will be and the better your after life will be.
In this Gospel Jesus asks God that He may be shown in us and for us to believe in the Father. But this is not going to happen unless we take action in presenting to our self and others that Jesus is inside of us. Acting kind towards others; simply acting like Jesus. We need to constantly be aware of out role as Catholics, which is to be a “Jesus” on Earth when maybe Jesus hasn’t been shown to them. Loving everyone and showing kindness no matter who someone is will always bring us closer to God.
Through Jesus, we are united. We come together during Easter or Christmas to celebrate Him. We are unified through Him because He is the center of our lives.
God gave us all we need by sending his son. He had to sacrifice his son to fulfill our needs. So we should never be selfish because God does everything to help us.
Jesus’ prayer is a model as it was in the Agony in the Garden. He talks to God as if a son because He is a son. John writes that Jesus prays for “them”, and for their unity. But John doesn’t describe who “them” is directly. He tells us of the messiah praying, and the words of the prayer. Yet we seem to understand him. “Them” must mean humanity.
I ca relate this to my life by knowing that God will still love me, even after I have sinned and that he will always allow me to return to him and he will receive me with open arms.
This gospel is Jesus saying he (God) wants to be more involved in our lives.
I can apply this Scripture to my life by allowing Jesus enter into my life. Jesus loves us all no matter what and he wants us to unite with him and pray. We need to allow him into our lives.
We don’t have a lot of time on earth. You can make the most of it by building good habits like reading the Bible and praying the Rosary. God is always with us, even when we make mistakes. When you are the best person you can be, you can be a good example for other people. God gives us everything and he will always be by our side.
God made us in His image and likeness. He made us like Him, gave us His son to save us, and has never ending love for us. God and Jesus love us so much to the point that God became man to save us from our sins and to take them away.
We are all created in his image in likeness and all he wants back in return is our love.
In the Gospel today, Jesus prays for us to become one. And even today, it is very important for all of us to pray so that we can all become one and so that we can all strengthen our relationships with God.
When I read this remember that God wants every single one of us to be with him forever but it is our choice if we get to spend every day and night with him or not.
Everything Jesus did was for us. Jesus died for us. Jesus took the punishment of our sins for us. God made us. From one that comes from has one in them. We all have God in us. So lets go do something good in life and show that God is really in us.
If we believe in God, He will give back to us what we give to Him. The Lord wants us to be happy, and the best way to be happy is to pray and have a good relationship with God. When you have a good relationship with God, He gives back what we put in, but He gives back in the form of grace and eternal love.
i can apply this to my life by praying to the Trinity and listening to God and the plan that he has for our lives. He will guide us to heaven we just have to pray and listen to him.
Jesus prays for all of the people who believe in Him. He also prays for the people who do not believe in Him, because He will never stop loving everyone. Jesus wants everyone to be united in Heaven, so He prays that we share the faith and live it in our daily life.
I can apply this to my life by knowing that Christ is praying for those who do believe in Him. If I believe in Him, then I can go to Heaven and be with Christ. Jesus loves everyone: those who believe, those who don’t, and those who know Him. He loves everyone and wants all of us to be united together through Him. I can become a servant of God as Jesus was for us in obedience to the Father.
In today’s Scripture, Jesus is praying to God. He is asking for us to be able to be with Him. We see Jesus time and time again, fighting for us. And yet, we don’t even like talking about our faith with others. I can’t speak for everyone, but for myself, I feel awkward and hesitant talking about my faith to others with different belief systems. I wish I wasn’t, but that is how I feel. We need to fight for Jesus the same way He fought for us. If Jesus can die on the cross for all of humanity, we can have a civil discussions with someone about religion.
Jesus prays to himself so we can be united with him and others.
This Gospel shows the selflessness, even when he knew he was going to die, he was thinking of others. We all need to be like Jesus in this way. We should not be jealous or hateful. We should love with open hearts and minds.
Todays scripture tells us that Jesus is always spreading the good news and and is looking for the best in everything. Jesus is God nobody else can be him.
Jesus is praying to the Father. He is the only one that knows the Father fully. He prays for him and for us even though he doesn’t know us. He wants us to be united as one. Like the church is. He loves us so much to just think of everyone of us individually.
This gospel shows me that God is with us no matter what. Whatever day it is, at night or in the morning, God is always with us. God never wants us to feel alone in the world. Whenever we may feel alone we can go to God.
God wants us all in Heaven with him. He wants us all unified. Right now everyone is so divided, over politics and world issues that everyone misses out on unity. It’s a beautiful thing, everyone united together. Everyone needs to think about unity. Today, people can’t be unified because they cancel everyone who doesn’t agree with them. God is trying to get us back together in Heaven with him.
In today’s Gospel Jesus makes it clear. He says people may know you but nobody knows you as much as I know you. He is created us in the imagine of God he is so powerful. Also in today’s Gospel he prayed to himself showing us that prayer can do so much. We should only believe in one God. That one God is so powerful in everything he does for us all we have to do is talk to him. If we talk to him everyday we will live a great life. Jesus loves us so much and we need to love him so much back.
What I have learned from this scripture passage is that no matter how far you fall away from God he will always forgive you and cal you back.
I can apply this to my daily life by knowing that Jesus loves everyone. All he ask in return is to love him back and love your neighbor.
Jesus prays for the Apostles just like we need to pray for our friends and classmates.
Jesus is praying for us to be with Him. He wants the best for us, and He wants us to be with him in heaven.
Prayer helps everyone. Even Jesus prayed to his father for help. Prayer is essential for our faith. It is the core of everything we believe.
Jesus love us so much he shows us how to pray to him by praying to himself.
Everything Jesus went through was for us. He died on the cross for us so we would be able to get into heaven. We need to thank Him and pray to Him everyday.
God loves us all and wants us all to be in heaven with him. He prays for us so that we can be together with him. We also need to pray to make it to heaven with God.
This scripture passage tells us that Jesus wants what is best for us. He wants us to get to heaven to be with him and the Father. I can apply this to my life by striving to get to heaven.
In today’s scripture Jesus is telling us that he will always be their for us, whenever or whatever reason he will be there.
Jesus deeply loves us and prays that we accept his word, we need to let ourselves be vulnerable and trust in him.
When God man in his image and likeness, he said it was good. He said that his creation was good, even though he could see that man was not perfect. He could see that we were going to sin. He sent his only son to die so that, by his blood, we could be forgiven of those sins and be able to be in unity with him in heaven.
I can apply this Scripture to my life by trying to spend time getting to know God. I feel like he’s saying all he wants is to be close to his children. Our relationship with God can’t just be him speaking to us and us not responding or us only talking to him if we want something. We have to really have a relationship by talking and listening to him and his way for us. Because only him can give us hope and saving.
I think that this scripture shows us that we need to pray and find a good outlet that allows us to reach God without temptation of sin. We need to find that one thing that will help us grow in holiness because, as you said, we only have so long on this Earth.
In the begining of the passage it startes off in 1st person from Jesus’ point of view as he is praying to God. Jesus starts by praying for all of the people who beleive in him through the gospel and that they may be one. We will be perfect as one, if all of humanity came togeather we will be a perfect being according to the gospel. Jesus then goes on to say that we are God’s gift the Jesus, even though we hurt him with our sin we are still his beloved gift from the Father. Jesus has taught us of God’s glory and love but we never would have known about God’s true love unless God himself sent his son down to teach us how to get to heaven to be with God and Jesus forever in heaven.
Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice for us and our sins; I don’t think I could die for someone, let alone get injured. When you’re hurt it, well, hurts, but Jesus knew that and still died a painful death upon that tree. That forsaken tree, covered in his own blood and puss. He did that for us, and frankly, I’m thankful.
Jesus loves anybody for what they do either that be good or bad he will still love us no matter what
Jesus cares for us all the time during the good and bad and he is praying for us to his father that we can be better in our faith, he prays for us and he dies on the cross for us. Jesus cares for us and we need to show Jesus love in our lives.
God only wants the best for us. But he will not just hand us everything we want. We have to work for everything including our relationship with Jesus. We will have to work hard for everything we think we deserve.
Jesus is praying to the Father and wants us to come together as one.
In the prayer Jesus prayed, He prays for His followers, but not only them, for the whole community of followers that live in the future. He’s praying for those who beleive in Him without seeing Him. Faith. This is what we should strive for. It’s the only thing that holds us to God, that and love.
We always pray for the conversion of sinners. And this is good, but Catholic’s need prayer too. Jesus never says following Him will be easy. There are a lot of people in the faith that leave so we also need to pray for perseverance in the Catholic life so we will be happy forever with heaven with God.
This tells me that even if at some times we feel that God doesn’t love us we need to remind ourselves he does because if he didn’t we wouldn’t be here and no matter how big the sin is he will always love us. And God loved us even before we were alive.
I can reflect on this part of the Scripture by praying for ourselves and others. Other people may seem like they don’t need any prayers towards them but them and God know that there are some gaps between them and God that could use help to be filled. And same with us, we can pray to God to fill in our brokenness and disconnections with Jesus that we need to have fixed. You could pray to Saints, Mary, Joseph, or directly to Jesus to do so.
I can apply this to my life by spending more of my life with God, and in prayer. Most times, we pray just to get over it, or just to say the words that we don’t really acknowledge. We should set aside more time to be with God, and in union with him. Let him guide you to Heaven, let us put our trust in him.
This passage allows for those who have taken the hardship of being with Christ, so that they can “be one”. I believe that this may be the reason I write. It allows those who do to access a power that none can access. Love.
In the scripture today, I learn that God loves us and will not love you more or less in you sin more or less. God loves and accepts everyone and he wants us to do the same! I need to pray for others and others need to pray for me. I need to learn that I should not just care about myself, but for other people who need people to pray for them. I need to love my neighbor just as God loves them!
I can apply this to my life by k owing God always loves us no matter how much we sin or how bad. God sent his one and only son down to earth to die for every single persons sin.
Today in the gospel, Jesus prays to the Father. He prays that we will follow him and someday meet him face to face in heaven. I can apply this to my life by praying to God with meaningful words. Jesus wants us to pray with a meaningful heart. Not just say the words we memorized, but to live by them.
Jesus is praying for everyone who believe’s his teachings. Not only do we believe in Jesus but we believe He believe’s in us.
Jesus loves everyone, sinner or not. they can still change by praying to god everyday, attend mass, and go to confession.
This scripture is telling me that we pray to be united with Jesus and the Father
I think that this reading is trying to tell us that when we are loving God fully and doing everything with His will in mind, we will grow into unity with the Trinity. This reading is also trying to open our eyes to the fact that Jesus, God the Father, and the Holy Spirit are in union in every single way they are like if a married couple was perfect and never fought, argued, or disagreed. This is very hard for us to comprehend but if we live our lives in holiness and die in holiness we will be able to live forever in heaven, in unity with the Trinity.
Believe if you trust in gods holy spirit because by believing it will help us all reach eternal happiness of God
Jesus is saying that He loves us and wants us to be with Him. He wants us to be united with Him in heaven.
I can apply this scripture to my life by taking more time out of my day to spend time with God. Also, God is always going to be with us no matter how much you sin. He will always be there to forgive you.
Jesus and Mary care for each and every one of us equally and as much as possible. Jesus died on the cross out of Love for us. He suffered the most agonizing and worst suffering that anyone has ever had to go through. The greatest thing when I think about that is that He died for my family, my friends, my community, and especially myself! The least that I can do is offer everything up to Him.
Today Jesus is praying to the Father. Jesus said,” Father, are in me and I in you, that they also may be in us.” Jesus knows him and the father are in each other because they are both part of the trinity. Jesus wants us to have a relationship with him similar to his relation ship with the father. Today in the silence we should rest with Jesus.
In today’s gospel, Jesus prays to God to unify us with Christ. Why does Jesus have to pray when He is God? What stood out to me was “Holy Father, I pray not only for them, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, so that they may all be one.” God wants us to be with Him, to love Him, and to know and form a relationship with Him. I can apply this to my life by praying and reading scripture daily.
This is telling me that Jesus loves us so much and he wants the best for us.
It is a prayer that shows how much he loves us. Jesus loves us so much that Jesus himself prays.
I think that its saying that God always wants us to be with Him, to always feel the need to pray to Him. Never be afraid to pray to Him, especially when you feel you have done something wrong or messed up really badly. That is when He wants us to go and pray to Him the most, is in those times.
I can apply this to my life by praying to Jesus and open up to him.
Unlike Jesus, we aren’t unified. Jesus fixes that in this Gospel and unifies everything. We need to come to Jesus and unify ourselves. The world is full of hatred and nothing is unified, but with Jesus’s help we can bring our lives together.
Jesus is praying to HIMSELF about how he wants to be untied with us like he is with God. ( himself) He wants to be with us always because he loves us and wants to have the bond of friendship with us. But we have to respond. We have to respond to his call to be untied to him like the father.
What I took from the Scripture is that God the Father will love everyone equally. No matter if you believe in him or not he still loves you. He is saying that he prays for everyone and loves everyone. I can apply this to my life by not ignoring someone or hangout with other people.
I can apply this to my life by knowing that God is in me and I am in Him. This is encouraging to know that God feels what you feel. It is amazing to know that you can easily just go to Him and he’s listening to you because He is in you.
I can apply this Scripture to my life by spending time with God and knowing that he loves you and your neighbor so much no matter what you do. He is praying for everyone to make it to Eternal Happiness in Heaven with him.
If we believe in God and do his work we will come back to him when our name is called. Even if you have sinned so much it seems impossible for him to forgive us any more. We wonder if he is tired of it, but God just wants us to come home to him. To praise him and be with him and share our life with him.
He is praying so that all people may be one like Jesus and God are. God also hope that We will be one with God like Jesus.
This reading is telling me that we need to spend more time getting to know him. We get caught up in the things that don’t really matter when we need to spend time with the one thing that does matter, prayer. We thing that if we pray we might get judged, well we might but the ones who are judging you are the ones that are jealous that they aren’t able to pray the way you are or just don’t want to pray because they are afraid that there family will judge them. We need to get closer to Jesus by making a relationship with him, and we do that by praying yo him every day and at every time that we can.
I feel like this Gospel passage is telling me that I need to talk and listen to God more. I need to get closer to Him. We all need to do a better job at believing in Him, and that He was truly sent by the one and only God. He is truly the savior of the world, and He really truly did die on a cross for our sins, so that we may be able to live eternal life with Christ in Heaven.
What I see from this is that Jesus loves us, and wants us to be with him. He even prays to the Father to helps us which shows how much he values us.
If you think about it, God is talking to Himself in the Gospel. In one way, this is just strange. In another, this is amazing. He is telling God to forgive our sins. If someone is willing to do that, than he truly loves. It is written “No greater love is there than to give one’s life for another”. If someone “gives up their life for another, saves it.” If we truly believe and love Him, he will have eternal life in Heaven.
Jesus is the one person that connects us in this world. Through the bible and through relationships and love we are connected to Him. We are most unified with Him through love. He wants us to love so that we may reach heaven and finally meet him. He loves the Father and its through his love that we have sympathy, generosity, and kindness. Jesus wants to make known the strong bond and love between Him and the Father. Jesus wants to see that love in us. He wants to see how we can find the love in us and share it with other people. It is only because of God we have charity and charity is our path to heaven.
Today, Jesus is praying to God. This is a little weird because He is God. Anyone else talking to themself would be considered a little cookoo. But Jesus isn’t cookoo. He is setting the foundation of Communion. He is setting the foundation of the Eucharist. Today my reflection is a little shorter because everything is very straight forward. Jesus is glorifying himself and that’s all there is to say
