Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary.

Jesus spoke to them again, saying,
“I am the light of the world.
Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness,
but will have the light of life.”
So the Pharisees said to him,
“You testify on your own behalf,
so your testimony cannot be verified.”
Jesus answered and said to them,
“Even if I do testify on my own behalf, my testimony can be verified,
because I know where I came from and where I am going.
But you do not know where I come from or where I am going.
You judge by appearances, but I do not judge anyone.
And even if I should judge, my judgment is valid,
because I am not alone,
but it is I and the Father who sent me.
Even in your law it is written
that the testimony of two men can be verified.
I testify on my behalf and so does the Father who sent me.”
So they said to him, “Where is your father?”
Jesus answered, “You know neither me nor my Father.
If you knew me, you would know my Father also.”
He spoke these words
while teaching in the treasury in the temple area.
But no one arrested him, because his hour had not yet come.  JN 8:12-20

Last week on two or three occasions and again today, Jesus tells us, “I am not alone, but it is I and the Father who sent me”.  The Pharisees finally ask, “Where is your father?”  Of course, they are thinking in human terms as we all are.  If Jesus was speaking these words to me, I would think He was crazy because I am human and did not understand.  After the Resurrection, with God’s grace and the Holy Spirit, wisdom and understanding of the Truth can abound and we can understand He is talking about God, the Father, the only God. Jesus is one with Him, proof of the Trinity again.

Jesus says, ““I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”  What would happen if we had no light?  Nothing would grow, without Christ we can not even be born again in Baptism, let alone grow in Christ.  Crime would increase, it would be much harder to fight crime.  We would not be able to see where we were going, Christ gives us direction and purpose.  Most importantly, we would cease to exist, nothing can survive without light. Christ gives us life, purpose, direction, and hope.  At times we will walk in the “dark valley” like Psalm 23 says, but with the light of the world, Christ, we will “fear no evil, for you are at my side”.  Our joy of Jesus Christ’s resurrection cannot be taken away unless we let it be taken away no matter how bad life gets.  Don’t allow the devil to steal your joy.  He is darkness. Come to the light, Jesus Christ and live!

Today’s challenge: If you are in darkness, repent, go to confession and come to the light, Jesus Christ.  He is waiting for you.  If you are in the light, share it!
