Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
Jesus said to the Jews:
“If I testify on my own behalf, my testimony is not true.
But there is another who testifies on my behalf,
and I know that the testimony he gives on my behalf is true.
You sent emissaries to John, and he testified to the truth.
I do not accept human testimony,
but I say this so that you may be saved.
He was a burning and shining lamp,
and for a while you were content to rejoice in his light.
But I have testimony greater than John’s.
The works that the Father gave me to accomplish,
these works that I perform testify on my behalf
that the Father has sent me.
Moreover, the Father who sent me has testified on my behalf.
But you have never heard his voice nor seen his form,
and you do not have his word remaining in you,
because you do not believe in the one whom he has sent.
You search the Scriptures,
because you think you have eternal life through them;
even they testify on my behalf.
But you do not want to come to me to have life.
“I do not accept human praise;
moreover, I know that you do not have the love of God in you.
I came in the name of my Father,
but you do not accept me;
yet if another comes in his own name,
you will accept him.
How can you believe, when you accept praise from one another
and do not seek the praise that comes from the only God?
Do not think that I will accuse you before the Father:
the one who will accuse you is Moses,
in whom you have placed your hope.
For if you had believed Moses,
you would have believed me,
because he wrote about me.
But if you do not believe his writings,
how will you believe my words?” JN 5:31-47
Today, Jesus reminds us He is God and that He came from the Father.
“The works that the Father gave me to accomplish,
these works that I perform testify on my behalf that the Father has sent me.”
He is one with God and the Torah is being fulfilled by Him as He speaks.
“For if you had believed Moses, you would have believed me, because he wrote about me” and “You search the Scriptures, because you think you have eternal life through them; even they testify on my behalf.”
The Word made Flesh dwelt among us and He brought us a message of salvation, “I do not accept human testimony, but I say this so that you may be saved.”
Does Jesus need to be more detailed and explicit in who He is and what His mission is about? Will there ever be enough Words from God to convince us that Jesus is the Savior of the world and God is the one true God? No. We have to believe it is the Truth in our heart and totally and completely dedicate ourselves to Him with faith based on these Words He revealed. We will fall short putting forth half-hearted effort, continuing to fall, and a wavering faith. This is the beauty of the Gospel, God knows these weaknesses and still chooses to love with a Father’s love.
Jesus resurrected and all He said is Truth or He did not resurrect and He is a radical liar claiming to be one with God. Jesus forces us to make a decision and then live our lives being transformed by Him. Otherwise, we have no identity, no mission and purpose. We have no hope for a better future or of a place where there is a loving Father. There is no love without God.
Today’s challenge: Believe that Jesus is one with the only God and He came to save us. Dedicate yourself to Him by praying to Him without ceasing, invite Him into every part of your life, receive Him daily if possible in the Eucharist, visit Him in the Adoration chapel and keep Him company, ask Him to help you understand Him better and love Him more, sit at His feet every day during this Lenten journey.
Be servant, become a saint!

This shows us that if we praise him we will saved from punishment.
In today’s gospel. Jesus tells us “and you do not have his word remaining in you, because you do not believe in the one whom he has sent.” Jesus says that God has testified for Him, yet we want to search the scriptures instead. I need to put my faith in God and be confident in my faith.
This scripture reminded me that we are very selfish and don’t take God in our lives because we want to have our own kind of fun, and yes, doing bad things may seem fun. However we are made by God to believe that he can fill us up with a lot more joy and that we’ll be saved if we believe
I think this is saying that we need to believe in Him no matter what. It seems difficult to believe in Him if you’re praying and you can’t hear Him like everyone else says they do, but that doesn’t mean you’re inferior to others or he isn’t there. I think it’s in terms of, Jesus knows when we need his voice, or his hearing.
“If I testify on my own behalf, my testimony is not true. But there is another who testifies on my behalf, and I know that the testimony he gives on my behalf is true.” A couple of days ago, Jesus taught a very similar teaching. He teaches us that His authority and teachings come from God. He tells us that He is one with God and the God is pleased with him.
This scripture is saying that God is our other half and hes the reason were human and who we are today. Jesus sacrificed so much for us and died on the cross for us and some of us choose to not love him back even though he gave himself up for us. Loving him and choosing him will always be the right answer.
Today, Jesus is saying that He knows about everything that we do. We can’t hide behind a bush like Adam did. The relationship between Jesus Christ and ourselves is real, and it is our responsibility to keep a good relationship with Him.
We need to put aside the worldly things if we want to get closer to God. The world tempts us with like material things but we need to resists those temptations and follow the will of God. We can’t bring our possessions with us after we die we can only bring our souls so we have to make sure their clean and pure because it’s all that matters.
I think this means that God is the only proof you need. If you believe in God he will show you what you must know. All of social media has alternative motives, but God has only one Goal having us go to heaven. He cares about you more than anyone online and he knows you better.
In todays gospel God is telling me that we need to accept Jesus. He is the only person in life that we absolutely need to accept because He is the reason we are even alive. He died for us on the cross so the least we can do is accept Him.
moses did a bad thing but are me and him really different i sin all the time its like the Barabis video are we really better than moses.
Today the scripture is telling me that the Jews were living in a lie they set up for themselves. They stubbornly misinterpreted the scripture to fit their wants and what they thought were their needs. They had convinced themselves that there was no possible way Jesus could be the Messiah. There was a reason Jesus came for the Gentiles and not the Jews. The Gentiles were more open to the possibilities. We need to be open to God and accept Him for who He truly is.
Jesus tells us in the Scripture that He is more than one person. God is more than one person. He tells us if you do not believe in me (Jesus) who is God, you will not believe in God the Father. But if another person came down as God alone and with mighty power, you will believe Him.
The Jews lie in wait for the Messiah to come. Yet He has already been in their misted! If one were to come up to us and say “I am God” would we listen? The Lord, our God, is love, and only through Him we can love. Without Him, our world would be an empty wasteland. But through the Lord, who has redeemed us, we have life with Him.
Jesus says “I came in the name of my Father, but you do not accept me; yet if another comes in his own name, you will accept him.” He says this because when Jesus says that God has sent him we really don’t believe him, but when someone else comes and says that they were sent by himself we believe him more than we do Jesus. We need to fully understand what God is telling us and believe it.
Just because we cannot see God does not mean He is not there. He takes up many forms and many voices, you will know when you hear Him. He will always have such a strong message and will always be there when you need Him the most, that’s why you should be there and listening for him everyday.
What I learned from the gospel today is that, we just expect God to come to us, but that’s not how it works. We can’t just expect Him to come to us, we have to come to Him. We have to reach out to Him and show Him that we care. We should care and we should be chasing after him. He doesn’t have to do anything for us, he does it out of love and care. So thinking that He will come to us, is wanting a little too much. We have to show that he care and chase after him, because he is not gong to chase after us.
Jesus saved us knowing we do not deserve to be saved. He knew we would hurt Him everyday but he still died for us. That’s what true love is. The least we can do is to believe in Him and just try to be better for Him.
Jesus is outright telling us that he came from the father, and that literally every Prophetic writing in the OT is fulfilled in his coming. The Jews clearly don’t believe him, but we most certainly should. What reason do we have not to?
We should seek the praise that comes from God. We should not let the praise from others interfere with a path to holiness.
We pray to God because WE need it. We need to learn to love God for our own sake, not God’s. We can be scared to understand God and eternal life because it scares us to leave what we are used to; earthly life. We need to detach ourselves from worldly things and give ourselves completely to God.
This scripture is telling us that God is God. We do not need more evidence. If we listen to God’s words and pray to him we don’t have to be reminded that he knows everything. And that he loves us.
This piece of Scripture tells me that Jesus says that we can’t defend ourselves on our own, we can’t do anything on our own. We need help from Him, so that we can help others as well. “If I testify on my own behalf, my testimony is not true. But there is another who testifies on my behalf, and I know that the testimony he gives on my behalf is true.”
Jesus came from God, and was sent down to save us. God has lots of power, but ultimately, he loves us so much and that’s all that matters. In the Gospel, Jesus reminds us that He is the Son of the only God who loves everyone.
what the scripture is telling me is that writing is like words and Jesus writes them so what Jesus says is true the words he writes are true.
Jesus says that everything testifies to him, but he mainly focuses on the scriptures. If you don’t read the scriptures(that testify to him), then how do you know him? Read the scriptures to get to know Jesus.
Everything Jesus does is for us. He forgives not for his own pleasure but for us. He loves us and has done everything in love for us. So we should trust Him and do as He says.
I think today’s scripture passage is trying to remind us that Jesus is the Son of God, and anything is possible through him. In order to go to Heaven, we have to truly believe in God and feel sorry for our sins we have committed.
I think this scripture says that he does not accept humans asking for forgiveness on their own but with God in confession is how he forgives.
Jesus is reminding us that He really is God. Jesus tells us that He is not a prophet but the Son of God. His words have power and can change reality. He is here to fulfill Scripture.
What stood out to me most was this question, “How can you believe, when you accept praise from one another and do not seek the praise that comes from the only God?” It stood out to me because some Catholics pretend not to believe and they accept praise from one another and don’t seek praise that comes from God. God will be there for us and we’ve got to believe.
How can you believe, when you accept praise from one another and do not seek the praise that comes from the only God? we get praises from people too much we need to ask fro praises from god more often.
I think that this is saying that we need to thank God for saving us. He didn’t have to do what he did, but he cared for us so he came down and saved us in human flesh. The fact that he gave up his life for us is insane.
Jesus says we must believe. Believing is interesting. If you do something, you believe something will come out of it, whether good or bad (these are consequences). The same is true with God. If we believe in God, we believe good will come forth from it. We believe in certain documents and testimonies, which all point back to the Heavenly Father. So, by empowering ourselves to believe, we allow God to work through us. We allow Him to become the center of our life, rather than a part of it. We allow Him to change us for the better.
This scripture is telling us that God is the only God. He should be the only God that we believe in. Christ is King we have to trust in him so we can get to heaven.
This scripture means that Jesus was sent to save us.
I think Jesus is telling us to stop lying. Nowadays people just lie without even thinking. We need to just tell the truth and we get into a lot less trouble when we don’t lie.
I think the gospel is telling us the real true God. In this lifetime we live in a world where some humans think there is more than one God. Thats not a good thing they are being told that thier God is not ours. I know its not really their fault but they needs to see that there is only one true God.
The Gospel is about Testimony about our lord Jesus. Then he says he does not except testimonies from humans.
I think the Scripture is saying that Jesus gave his entire life for us. He died a horrible and painful death so He could save us. Jesus loves us even when we think He doesn’t.
This scripture today is very meaningful and powerful to me. The scripture today is telling us that simply God is God. He is everything we need and should ever want. We don’t need any more evidence. If we truly listen to God’s words and pray to and with him we don’t have to be alert or reminded that he knows every single thing. We should always know he is the only true Savior and he loves us with his whole heart no matter what happens.
This scripture is telling me if we believe one person telling of someone else, why do we not believe the someone who the other person foretold. This is like everybody. We believe one thing but not the other. Even if they are the same thing.
Jesus reminds us that he is the Way. To get to the father you must go through the one who has been sent by the father. Jesus is showing us that if we don’t believe in him we don’t believe in God.
