Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
Jesus said to his disciples:
“I have come to set the earth on fire,
and how I wish it were already blazing!
There is a baptism with which I must be baptized,
and how great is my anguish until it is accomplished!
Do you think that I have come to establish peace on the earth?
No, I tell you, but rather division.
From now on a household of five will be divided,
three against two and two against three;
a father will be divided against his son
and a son against his father,
a mother against her daughter
and a daughter against her mother,
a mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law
and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.” Lk 12:49-53
Jesus uses powerful words today. “I have come to set the earth on fire” and “I did not come to bring peace but division.”
This is hard to understand. Don’t forget the power of fire in our physical and spiritual world. In our physical world, many forests and homes have been destroyed due to fire. In our spiritual world at Pentecost the fire of the Holy Spirit came down on our first followers, the disciples, and today through us to build something new.
This is the fire Jesus can’t wait to unleash on the world, a dysfunctional family in His eyes. The division He is speaking of is a world that once had no future. There is no hope in a fallen world, only dysfunction, and no direction or purpose. I think of it as a burning field of weeds and brush that must be burned to create new growth so everything can come to live in it. Jesus came to bring the human family hope. He came to bring all of the dysfunction in us a rightly ordered life and rightly ordered worship. He came to give us purpose and mission, to do the will of His Father.
Now, in this time and place, we have a decision to make. We can die to ourselves, our fallen human nature/flesh, worldly goods, and put on Christ to defeat the devil. It is extremely difficult to enter heaven because dying to ourselves and doing the Will of God is tough. It requires a lot of searching and wrestling with God. It requires daily prayer and reading the Scriptures. It requires fasting and telling ourselves no. So, why do it? God wants us to be back with Him forever. He desires a friendship with His Creation. The joy we receive from a rightly ordered life and more importantly spending the rest of our lives in the glory of God is so powerful it looks beyond the hardship.
Christ, too, saw this wonderful glory of heaven while on His journey through His Passion and Death. He knew well it would be all worth it. Do you believe? Are you ready to start fighting with your whole heart, soul, mind and will? Eternal life depends on it.
Today’s challenge: Look at the big picture and where your life fits into salvation history now. Reflect on the decisions you have made in the past and how they have formed you today to be who you are. Your future depends on your will and God’s grace. What do you need to change? Seek and you will find. Never give up. Believe.
Be a servant, become a saint!

The fire Jesus is talking about means the Catholic faith spreading throughout the world. Jesus tells us He wants us to live with each other and to live in peace until He comes to Earth. Jesus is wanting people to be baptized into the Catholic faith and let people know about Jesus who have never really understood Him.
What God is telling me today is that we need arguments. We can’t just always agree because not everything is good for us. Even if you are arguing with family, that is needed sometimes. Family will always be there, so any argument doesn’t need to be constant.
This is a pretty unique scripture passage. Christ wants to set the world “Aflame” with the fire of love and obedience, and I think that we can all help to do this in any way we possibly can.
I think it’s trying to talk about our nature as humans to mess up, or fail. We should fight to not fail, or prevail. This can lead us to an eternal life with God’s grace and mercy.
Jesus is saying He has come to set the world on fire in today’s gospel. He’s saying He has come to bring those who want to go back to God back to God. We need God in our lives or it will always feel like we have no purpose. It will just be the same thing day after day wake up go to work or school go home and go to bed, but with God every day is a adventure of spreading the Word of God and bringing people to Him.
I think when Jesus Says, “Do you think that I have come to establish peace on the earth? No, I tell you, but rather division,” He means that life as a Catholic will not be easy. I think he is telling us that there will always be people who don’t believe in him. Jesus is showing us the fine line we should strive to follow. He isn’t sugar coating our lives, he knows all the struggles against our faith.
I think God is trying to tell us that the way that we are living is wrong. He needs to change the world drastically. To God to heaven you must welcome the change and embrace the change that God is giving you.
Pretty much all of the things that Jesus said are taken as bad things. Really bad things. Family against family, a world on fire, traditional bad stuff. The world on fire part sounds a lot like armageddon. But He means that He wants to re-create humanity in a sense. He want’s to re-start us. Like that burning a field thing. He wants to make us better. He wants us to be the best versions of our selves.
God made us how we are and we need to remember that because it says “Do you think that I have come to establish peace on the earth? No, I tell you, but rather division.” i feel like this says a lot it shows that God made us divided but that is how its expose to be. every thing is going to plan.
This taught me that even in families that there is division in between us, even through the strongest bonds. We just have to accept that. There is going to be fighting but we can always that God will make it better. We should trust God that he will bring all of us back together where we belong. We also need to do some by ourselves, we should try to bring those strong bond together ourselves and make God proud.
This tells me to look back at some of the memories and realize how much I have grown instead of trying to forget everything that happens. This also tells em that everything that has happened there was a reason for it.
I think God is telling us today that He wants to fill us with his love and spirit. Fire is a symbol of the Holy Spirit and its loving power. All Jesus wants is for us to be happy and rejoice with Him. Spiritually, fire doesn’t destroy us it brings us together in an amazing way.
I think this scripture means that God is trying to say without actually saying it that we are all here for a reason whether we know it or not but God put us on this earth for a reason. God sees hope inside of each and every one of us. We are all different in our own ways and we have to realize that. We don’t have to be perfect or be anything more than who we ACTUALLY are. Being ourselves shows everyone our true self.
Jesus also says “From now on a household of five will be divided, three against two and two against three; a father will be divided against his son and a son against his father, a mother against her daughter and a daughter against her mother, a mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.” Jesus is saying how everyone in a household; everyone will be fighting one another. Jesus is also saying that it’s gonna get worse on earth but it gets better in heaven; when he says that he has come to set fire to the earth.
In today’s gospel, fire could represent God’s judgement because fire has the ability to destroy or shine light. We need to always be ready for when God calls us. I can use his in my life by going to confession often and trying to get to heaven.
Jesus usually talks about unity with Him, but how can we, if we do not separate ourselves from the world. If we let ourselves be too attached to others, how can we be willing to give up everything for Him? In the Old Testament, the Lord asked Abraham to kill Isaac, his only son, to prove that he was willing to do the will of God, no matter how hard it is. In the end, right before he killed his son, an angel came to him telling Abraham not to kill his son. Did this not foretell what was to happen in a later event? If we are not so willing to follow the Lord, and to Give up everything, who will?
It means that when the world is in a better place by giving and receiving, thankfully because giving up something can be good. I know that the people that God chooses is no better or worse than me.
Jesus loves us very much, but we to do more for our own well being. We have our own responsibilties as humans, and it’s our choice whether we pay attention to them or ignore them. We cannot be afraid to live up to our Catholic expectations. Jesus will always be there for us when we need Him. We hear priests and parents and teachers telling us that Jesus said, “Do not be afraid”. But, in my life, I’ve always ignored it. But now, in our broken world, I really need to not be afraid. Even, just praying a Rosary in public may convince someone to convert and change their life. It is so, so important to live out our Faith at home, but even more important to do it out in the world, where there are a lot of people that need help.
Jesus says that he came for division not peace. Jesus also tells us that he has come to set the earth on fire and that he wishes it were already blazing. We should be prepared to fight for Jesus even if it means losing friends.
The way all of this first quarter has affected me isn’t huge. It hasn’t made me holy or anything, but it’s strengthened my relationship with God.
Its made my think more about our faith.
For the fist scripture reflection my reflection was pretty bad i didn’t under stand how to connect with Jesus though the bible but after doing some of the 30 day walk i fell closer to jesus and it is amaszin
Jesus and The Bible have impacted my life by always being there when no one else is with me and to help me be on the right path for my life.
This means that love spreads like fire, but so does hate. If we choose to love it will come back to us.
The Word of God sets us aflame with love and unity. The Bible showed me that Jesus loves us and helped us in ways we didn’t notice. He gave up his life so that we can be free from sins. We should honor Him because He is the one true God.
The Bible in impacted me by praying more to Jesus and talk to him about my life and listen to Him.
I honestly like doing scripture reflections because I think its good to learn about the bible but also you can read it on your own in your own Bible. Jesus wants us to be close to him.
I have started to look out in nature and notice the small things in life. I started to people walk in other peoples shoes and to notice their thoughts on the situation.
The Bible has made me grow a lot closer to God by reading these amazing stories that help all of us and that they really show what is it like to be a Christian and what the wonderful things that can happen to us and really shows who all us who we really are.
Jesus is telling us that He is coming to set the Earth on fire. We usually think of God wanting everything to be nice and peaceful, and that’s right, but we have to realize that with that comes obstacles and things we have to do before getting it.
The way JC is all about connecting with Jesus. Reading the bible helps you find what God is calling to God.
I haven’t been keeping up with the 30 day walk with Jesus, but whenever I read it, it seems that its always relative to my life. And I think that Jesus try’s to tell me what to do in the stories about his life.
The thing i learned about this scripture is that Jesus Christ rose from the dead and then ascended into heaven and then starting cleaning the souls of everybody to bring them into heaven. The reason that Jesus Christ came to set the earth on fire was to kill the devil and clean everybody’s souls
The impact Gods word has done to me has been that he doesn’t need sacrifice and he would do anything to for are lives
He doesn’t want to set the world on fire to harm us, but rather set it on fire with the Holy Spirit. He sees us suffering and he wants to fill us with his wisdom and grace.
The bible has made an impact on me to where i will pray more often now especially when something bad happens. I know i can read the bible and talk to God and that he doesn’t need me i need him.
I think God is telling us that we will never be perfect and have a perfect life. When I finished my 30 day walk with Jesus I though I was done but been I told myself no because reading the bible is now really important to me.
Jesus wants us to spread His Word throughout the entire Earth but there is temptation in the world that leads us to divide from one another rather than unifying.
what the scripture is telling me is that we still need some sort of conflict going on or we wont be able to get past things and sometimes you can have the wrong answer and have to get beaten by the correct answer.
Reading these has made me want to know God more. I have started reading the Bible and praying the Rosary and noticing the small things about life. This has made me want to be a better person.
God has impacted my life so much this first quarter and i am so thankful that Mr Goertz is my teacher because he has opened me up to Christ and showed me the way and he was there every step of the way.
The way jc has made me think a lot harder on the gospel and made me try to understand the Bible more. When I think and try to understand the Bible, it helps me use it and apply it to my life now.
The Bible has helped me to get more closer to God then i was before and has helped me understand some of the questions i had by reading the Bible. Am also learning of all the things that God has done for us.
The Bible has made an impact of my life because it has shown what God has done for me and what the disciples did to follow and love God. The Bible help me to find what I am called to do and life. It also brings me closet to God.
The Bible has made me grow closer to God because it helps me understand everything that he has done for us, and how he is the reason we are all here today. The Bible tells us that we should follow and worship God always.
Before we talk about how the bible impacted me, I need to say that I did not read the bible every day. unfortunately, I wasn’t even close. It’s something that I want to work on. But when I did read It, I felt awed that this was the history, the story, of salvation. Not some fictional story that a writer thinks up or something merely stating facts, but a book showing God’s undying devotion to us. I think that if the bible impacted me this much the few time that I read it, then imagine if I read it every day, It’s impact would be amazing!
I think that this scripture passage means to me is, that God wants us to go the harder path not the easy way. He want us to go through the fire because the easiest way is rarely the best way in life. If we want to get to Heaven then we have to try our best.
The Bible has had a huge impact on my life in various ways. For one, I notice God more in my life. Whenever I am upset, I can pray more easily now. I can just relax with God. When I am struggling, no matter what it may be, I feel like God is there to help me with it now. I can hear Jesus speaking to my heart, making the most generic Bible passage that could apply to anyone specifically geared towards me. He isn’t unknown to me anymore, I have made a friend willing to die for me on a cross. I have a friend willing to sacrifice himself in order to save me from sin. This is what the Bible has done for me.
That’s really cool, Natalie! Good for you!
I feel like Jesus is saying we will fight with our family but we must come back to each other and God. Jesus is going to set fire to this earth and show us his way.
These scripture reflections have changed the way I see the bible. The bible is not just a book. God and the Holy Spirit has started to show me why the bible is so important. I love seeing why the Holy Sacrifice of Mass is so important. It has changed my view of seeing things. And it’s so great that I can become closer with Christ.
Doing this scripture reflection has helped me to understand the word of God better. I find it nice to pick every word and phrase apart trying to understand it in a deeper meaning. I always try to understand it to my best knowledge and put it into the context of my daily life. I haven’t been keeping up with my 30 day walk but I want to get better at it.
God has really in packed my life. He is always there to listen to what we have to say. We just have to remember that Jesus died on the cross for us and we have to appreciate it.
Today’s ghospel says that God came to save us by letting us choose him or sin.
God has really in packed my life. He is always there to listen to what we have to say. We just have to remember that Jesus died on the cross for us and we have to appreciate it.
Jesus and the Bible have impacted me a lot this year in many ways. First of all Jesus impacted me to pray the rosary and to pray for all of those who need it every day. The Bible has impacted me by letting me get to know the word and the story of Christ. I am super glad both of these things impacted me this year so I can get a closer relationship with God.
God has impacted my life in a huge way. A couple years ago I was extremely depressed and suicidal. I barely prayed, read the bible or went to church at that point in time. I decided to try to pray, read the bible and go to church as much as I can and I got better. Way better
God has impacted my life through the gospel by giving me little quotes from the scriptures that I try and apply to my life, today is one of them ironically enough, “I have come to set the world on fire, and how I wish it was already blazing!” these quotes make me feel closer to God and I can recite them in my head, and in that way I am able to talk to Jesus because I am reminded of him, and I can talk to him for a few seconds or just a minute of silence that I find, and then I can continue with my day.
The Bible has had many impacts on my life. One of the impacts the Bible has had on my life is that it has made me want to read the Word of God some more. It has also impacted my life by making me want to pray to Jesus about what’s going on in my life or someone I need to pray for.
If you ask me, The bible has impacted my life by letting me be able to learn more about the ways that we can get to heaven, and also to separate right from wrong. The scripture also tells me that we need to be ready to make our final choice when Jesus comes down to earth. We need to be ready and divided into the right groups.
God has always been there in my life, I was born into Catholicism and it is one of the best things every day is to wake up and thank God for everything he has given me. A family, a school, a house, food, clothing, the list goes on and on because God is so loving and caring for us. What I have learned from the reflections is we need God in our life more than he needs us. God is always there reaching out hit hands so we need to take them and follow him.
The fire Jesus cant wait to set is a spiritual fire to spread throughout the world, everyone teaching and preaching the Word of God. Jesus said he couldn’t wait to set the fire because after he died and resurrected, the fire has already started, and that very fire grows more every single day in each one of us.
The impact the bible has left on my life is that I grow in a deeper relationship with God and Jesus just by reading about them and what they did to try and help the world. I feel as if the bible has told me a lot about Jesus and God by telling me what the did through people and what they did on earth.
How has the bible had an impact on my life? Well, to be honest with you Mr. Goertz, I haven’t been reading my bible every night, or leaving my Rosery on my pillow. I haven’t read the bible much, just some of the Gospels. But i started reading Mark during adoration and it kind of opened my eyes a little. There are things that happen that aren’t talked about that make Jesus feel real. The biggest one for me is that they talk about where Jesus was at the beginning, Capernaum. And the map at the back let me know where that city was. Knowing where Jesus was at this time really gave me interest in what was going on, and when he moved i would go to the map and find out where the next city or next village is, and it made me invested in the story. Jesus has always felt like this distant man to me, but doing this, reading Mark and tracking where Jesus was and where he went made him seem real to me, more real than any other teacher has taught me. Doing this made me invested, and I reccomend you do it as well
The bible has helped me understand Jesus. Many times if I have questions I search the bible. Most the time I find and answer from Jesus. The bible is a way to understand Jesus. Know about his life through and accurate story. I read the gospels often and grow closer to Jesus.
Reading the scriptures every Thursday and going to adoration more often has taught me how to listen to God. It has helped me to have a special relationship and to listen to what God tells me through life. We’ve been going to mass since we were little and 7th and 8th grade shows what the mass is actually doing. It tells us what happens and teaches us all to participate with God. Praying the Rosary teaches me how to be patient.
What I believe from this Gospel is that not everything has to BE peaceful. There isn’t always going to be an agreement, but there isn’t always going to be a disagreement.
Jesus came to bring the Holy Spirit upon us, just like what happened at the Pentecost. The fire that he speaks of IS the Holy Spirit. “and how I wish it were already blazing!”, describes that he wants us to be filled with it so that we find purpose to life.
God has impacted my life in a huge way. A couple years ago I was extremely depressed and suicidal. I barely prayed, read the bible or went to church at that point in time. I decided to try to pray, read the bible and go to church as much as I can and I got better. Way better
The Bible has had a big impact on my life because whenever I read it I know that God is right there with me. Whenever I am reading the Bible I Know that I am reading God’s words and there is nothing better than doing that. The bible to me is one of the most holiest things and we should always treat it with respect.
In today’s Gospel it is telling us that we can not live without God. If we don’t ever talk, get to know God, or pray to Him, then it’s basically like we have no purpose in life. If we incorporate God in our lives, we can wake up every day to an adventure and we get to spread the Word of Our Lord.
Today in the gospel, Jesus tells us that he wants to set the world on fire. I think Jesus is saying he wants to invite everyone into the church, but he needs help to spread the truth. Jesus also said in the gospel that life will not be easy. He talks about how people will fight against each other. He says that we have to help Him spread the truth. I can apply this to my life by doing small acts that represent and say Jesus.
Talking to God, using the Bible and other forms of prayer is peaceful. You can tell God about anything you want instead of holding it inside. When you hold stuff inside of you, you can be grumpy and a worse person to be around. That is something that everyone around you can notice. This is just one way that it can affect your life but there is probably too many to count.
Jesus and the Bible have inflicted my life if so many ways I can’t put into words. In the two minutes of silence we do in religion, I have a special connection with Him. When I am getting ready for bed, I don’t read my Bible but rather two books that leads me to have a deeper understanding of the saints and a specific quote from the Bible. I have to come to understand Jesus as a person and friend instead of a subject. In prayer I try to imagine the words and have a connection with them. The prayers mean things to me that only God and I know of. Jesus knows me and I know him. I connect with him through the Bible, Church, prayer, and other holy books I read before bed. They put me in the write state of mind. He is a friend to me and the Bible is something we share.
What the Bible has done for me is help me understand my religion and help my relationship with God. Reading the Bible also gave me a moment of realization that I do believe in the Lord. You should read the Bible daily and grow that relationship with the Lord. When I look back when I didn’t even know the Lord or the Bible it disgusts me and makes me wish I was always reading the bible.
This scripture is telling us that everyone is going to be against each other and I think that this is kind of like how when two people have a different opinion they think that they can not be friends or do anything like that.
Ever since last year I feel more connected with God than I was before. Reading these has made me feel like I am more connected with Him each time.
When Jesus is saying that he is going to set the world on fire I think it means that he is trying to fill the world with the holy spirit and try and take out all of the bad things.
The Bible has impacted me by helping me know more about God and be with him more. He has really helped me by always being there when I want to pray to him or when i’m feeling down. The Bible brought me closer because I pray more often then usual and helps me with what I need to pray for.
Jesus would do anything for us. The Gospel today says he came to save us but we have to choose from sin or him and live in peace with him forvever.
I think it is telling me that I need to remember all of my memories and not let them just drift off to a point where I forget what has happened in the past. I think it is also telling me that yea there is such thing as a issue in a family and not everything is all happy all the time. But if that is the case then let it be, it will work its self out with time. God does everything for a reason, even including the really hard things. But we just have to live and learn from them.
To me this is saying that Jesus wants us to make a decision: Him or the devil. We can’t live without knowing what we’re living for, because then we will end up somewhere we don’t to be. If you live your life acting like you’re living for Jesus, but you’re really not, other people might think you’re cooler, or better just because you go with the crowd. If we don’t stand up for what we believe is right, we won’t get the result we want.
Today God has showed me a different perspective on the bible. The bible is the word of God and i can read it anytime of day and relax and talk to God. To read the Bible is one of the best things you can do in your free time because when you read the Bible God is talking to you and teaching things you didn’t know about him.
Todays Scripture talks about spreading the catholic faith, spreading the word of God all around the world. So people can praise and see the goods thing in God and what he did for us.
The Scripture has made a difference in my life. I read it before I go to bed every night. It reminds me to not worry about the troubles that had come earlier in the day but to just focus on the now. It helps me to think not just about myself, but about other people and to put myself in there shoes and hopefully get to do better the next day.
Now I know that this sounds very harsh and bad for something that Jesus would do but he actually means it in a good way. When he says “I have come to set the world on fire” he is talking about Pentecost. Where all the people in Jerusalem have there tongues on fire and where they can speak multiple languages. To me this means that anything is possible with the assistance/guidance from Jesus Christ.
In the Scripture today, Jesus tells us to love Him above all else, even our own family. What He says will test our faith, because how could we leave our family, for a God we can’t physically see? The answer is simple: trust. Do you TRUST that God will be there to catch you when you fall? Do you TRUST that God will reach down and pull you out of the deep, dark hole your in? Do you TRUST that God will never leave you, no matter how frustrated He may with you? Whatever trials may come, I know one thing: God will never abandon me.
“Faith can move mountains.” Matthew 17:20
The bible has impacted me by getting me closer to God and admiring Jesus more and applying him to my life more
What the Gospel is telling me today that we need to fight and argue sometimes. We fight with the ones we love most and when we fight it makes our connections stronger. No is perfect we all have to learn from our mistakes.
Coming from a catholic family I have always been told to read the bible or scripture. I never really did because I didn’t think I knew how. Usually I would hear the Gospel in church or read a couple verses here and there but I was never taught to reflect until I came to Mr. Geortz’s class. He taught me that to really respond you have to think and feel what your heart or the Holy Spirit is telling you. IT could be simple and sweet or it could be a whole page that you are inspired to write from the Holy Spirit. Scripture Reflection has taught me to reflect on the word and not to drift off. It was hard at first and I did it for the grade but eventually I enjoyed reading and reflecting on the Gospel. For a while I even did it on days that weren’t for a grade. I stopped but I don’t know why because I just want to become close and I feel like this is the best way. Just spilling it all out.
Reading the Bible has greatly improved my life in many ways. These things range from the way I talk to people to the way I view the world. Before I started reading the Bible on a regular basis, I would not always think of other people as people that matter. I would either say things that were mean to them or do something without realizing that it was hurting someone else. Reading the Bible has helped me realize that all people matter and that I should always think about other people’s feelings. Now whenever I do something I try to think of what this will do to someone else. I am still a human and I mess up but I have gotten better with this so I don’t do it much. Another way the Bible has impacted me was just how I view the world. Since I have started reading the Bible, I have been much more happy and everything seems so much better. I cannot totally explain why I feel this way but knowing that you are in a good place spiritually really helps me to be nearly stress-free. I know that all of us have lots of stress and until recently I have also been full of anxiety but the Bible has helped me through that and I think that everyone else should start, or continue, reading the Bible daily. If this wasn’t enough of a reason to start reading the Bible then I know what is, just try reading the Bible every night for a week or two and during that week or two you will realize that this is a great habit to get into. It is not a huge commitment, you just have to shell away 15 or so minutes a day and your life will be changed forever.
The Word of God, the Bible affects my life in may ways. The Word of God actually wanting to more like Jesus and help others. It also makes me want to know more about God. The Bible helps me to know how to choose right from wrong. It is a way of helping me want to be a better person and go down the right path in life. We just have to know that God is always there to listen to use. Jesus died for our sins and he doesn’t want us to take that for granted. He put us on this Earth to do great things in life and he wants us to treat everyone in the world with respect.
The Bible has impacted me by making me think about my decisions, and why I did them in the first place. It’s really halped me to make better decisions.
it takes me to jessus and tels me
Reading the Bible it has made me want to be a better person. I have also realized how important reading the Bible and going to mass is. It has taught me more about my faith.
The bible has impacted my life by realizing that everything is not about me. God’s word has an impact on me because it helps me strive harder, and to keep on going even when somethings get hard. The only hard part about the 30 day walk through was that I sometimes got stuck on certain days of the journey.
The Bible has effected my life by showing me that I need God and I can’t do anything without Him. We all need God’s mercy and grace if we want to get to Heaven, and I that’s something the Bible has showed me.
The Bible has impacted me by helping me pray everyday and to say more than an Our Father every day. It has lead me closer to Jesus and it has helped me through all the hard times I have had.
It affects me on what Jesus did for me and my friends and that the stuff he actually did actually happened and it is not like any other book it is from people who watch Jesus and saw him do the miracles. It makes you think what Jesus did for us.
I think the bible has impacted my spiritual relationship with God. I feel like I have really gotten closer to God in this first quarter. I has made me pray and talk to God a lot more.
The bible has effected my life in the first quarter by making me have a better understanding of Christ’s life and being able to put him first.
I have not been reading it every day, but when I do read it I love it. I really like reading about what Jesus talked about.
Getting my bible and doing scripture reflections has really inspired me.It has inspired me to go to mass more and to serve God more.At the beginning of this school year I had no idea how I was going to get closer to God.My bible has definitely helped me to grow closer to God.
This gospel is telling me that I need to work with people and don’t just be a one man show and to try to help out other people. Because who knows if you are better at working with a team than that will make your peirs better at something and also you will grow in that skill that you have
The Bible is so amazing. The Bible has given me the opportunity to grow a lot closer to God. It teaches more than just our faith. It teaches us who we truly are. The Bible has gave me an opportunity to get to know who Jesus really is. I learned that Jesus will never put us down. Since I read this, I can´t stop thinking about the meaning of this. We hurt him, we sin against him. But, still he lets us come back to him and be his best friend. That is so powerful.
Reading the bible has impacted my life because it turns me to God. By turning my attitude to God it changes the way i act to others. It helps me realize that you just cant live a fun life of partying and bad things. But you have to sacrifice, you have to give to the lord yo have to give back to God for what he gave you. It teaches me to act like God. And to bring more to the faith.
Alll through first quater I have only read the bible a couple of times. I feel like I’m falling away from God,but I’m going to try to get closer to God.
I think that this is trying to tell us that we shouldn’t ever let our human nature overtake our faith. Humans often have a habit of falling away from our faith. Jesus has sent a fire upon the Earth, a guidance for our faith.
I keep forgeting to put my bible on pillow. I also keep forgeting to read it.
This could be taken in a good way or a bad way, Jesus could be saying that he is going to set the world aflame with God, Or he could be saying that Catholosism is really hard.
This tells me to enjoy my family while I have it and to look back on all the memories I have made with them and to make as many memories as I can.
