Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary.

Brothers and sisters:
If you are guided by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
Now the works of the flesh are obvious:
immorality, impurity, licentiousness, idolatry,
sorcery, hatreds, rivalry, jealousy,
outbursts of fury, acts of selfishness,
dissensions, factions, occasions of envy,
drinking bouts, orgies, and the like.
I warn you, as I warned you before,
that those who do such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
In contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
patience, kindness, generosity,
faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.
Against such there is no law.
Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified their flesh
with its passions and desires.
If we live in the Spirit, let us also follow the Spirit.  Gal 5:18-25

If you are struggling with a sin of the flesh, Jesus teaches us to fast (40 days in the desert).  Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you and increase the gifts of the Spirit within you.  You are a temple of the Holy Spirit, be careful what you put into your body, what you listen to, and what you watch.  Every time you watch something, read something, or listen to something you are being formed.  Are you forming yourself with Truth (Eucharist/Sacraments, Bible, catechism, Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy) or with lies (every time you turn on the TV, Internet, social media, music, books that are not spiritual).  If you want to know if you are doing God’s will look to see if you have the fruits of the Spirit in your life: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, goodness, self-control, modesty, chastity.  These are a great benchmark and their is no law against them!

Today’s challenge: Everyone struggles with sins of the flesh, but Christ buried the chains that bind us to sin, go to confession, fast, and pray.  All sin can be overcome with Christ and His grace.  God’s love is the most powerful thing in the world. Spend more time in prayer, with your Bible, a rosary, with family and less time with electronics.

Be a servant, become a saint!
