“I DO WILL IT. BE MADE CLEAN.” MK 1:40-45
Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
A leper came to him and kneeling down begged him and said,
“If you wish, you can make me clean.”
Moved with pity, he stretched out his hand,
touched the leper, and said to him,
“I do will it. Be made clean.”
The leprosy left him immediately, and he was made clean.
Then, warning him sternly, he dismissed him at once.
Then he said to him, “See that you tell no one anything,
but go, show yourself to the priest
and offer for your cleansing what Moses prescribed;
that will be proof for them.”
The man went away and began to publicize the whole matter.
He spread the report abroad
so that it was impossible for Jesus to enter a town openly.
He remained outside in deserted places,
and people kept coming to him from everywhere. MK 1:40-45
Imagine being banned from your family, friends, school, workplace, community, everybody. There are other lepers living with you in misery outside the towns. You may have lost all hope. Then, you hear that there is a Man that can cure you and set you free of your illness. Just as the leper did, we would fall to our knees and beg Jesus to heal us. Now, stop imagining and instead of a leper insert you and me as a sinner.
Jesus wills to heal us and He willed to die on the cross to fulfill His Father’s will to redeem us from Adam and Eve’s original sin. We can’t forget this part of our identity. We inherited a loss of holiness. The only way back to the Father, our Creator, is through a Savior. His body and blood, soul and divinity without sin, His life. Jesus saw each one of our faces and our sin past, present, and future. He willfully took our place to redeem us. God’s love is unfair. Do we appreciate it?
Jesus wills Baptism, reconciliation, and gives Himself to us totally and completely in the Eucharist, so that we have an opportunity for His grace and to be forgiven when we fall so that we can come back to Him healed of our infirmities, holy, and enter heaven. There is no limit to His mercy, never tire of returning to Him after you have fallen.
There are no whoppers too big for His grace. Grace restores what sin has damaged, allow yourself to be forgiven and healed. What will you do with this grace, this powerful love? Sin again or fight harder. Be careful not to take advantage of this great gift and sin again because you know God will forgive you (sin of presumption). God is not a slot machine. Jesus wants to cleanse us, but we must respond with love, thanksgiving, and avoid the near occasion of sin.
Jesus told the leper to show himself to the priest to be cleansed by what Moses prescribed, so that the priests would allow him back into their religious community. We too must forgive and allow people back into our lives. Forgiveness sets free the chains that bind us filled with hatred, anger, frustration, worry, anxiety, and bitterness towards another. Forgive and experience peace.
“Say please, thank you, and I’m sorry every day.” –Pope Francis
Today’s challenge: Allow Christ to heal your wounds, come before Him begging on your knees.
Be a servant, become a saint!
#Christian YOLO
Jesus can heal us, just as He heals our souls by dying on the cross for us. Just as the leper, we wish to be clean, and we would fall down and beg for Jesus’ healing, and just as He did to the leper, He would heal us if He loved us enough to even die on a cross for us.
What reached out to me was when Jesus said, “I do will it. Be made clean.” What this resembles to me is confession. As Catholics we’ve been given an amazing tool to help us have a healthy relationship with Jesus. Although confession is great we also can’t use it as a “get out of Jail free card”, but we need to remember we’re always free to go back to confession and we can always return to Jesus.
We should do as Jesus says. Jesus would never lie to us.
If we come to God’s arms open wide to him he will help us greatly in our lives because he loves us and wants us to believe in him so we can love him forever. Lepersy is just like sin we have to come to God or the priest and ask him to cleanse us from our sin or lepersy.
In this Gospel Jesus heals a leper. “If you wish, you can make me clean.” Jesus can do anything He wishes to do. We just need to ask Him. He will always hear our prayers. Jesus will always heal us. When we are hurt spiritually or physically, we should come to Jesus.
that jesus love us no mater what
I think this Gospel is telling me that if someone does something nice we should do the little thing they ask. The leper begs Jesus he cleanses him and then he tells him to not tell anyone. Guess what the leper does! He tells everyone and now Jesus can’t go in public without people begging for miracles.
Jesus can do anything. Nothing is impossible for the Lord. We need to put our faith in Him and allow Him to lead our lives. We need to make God the center of our lives. The leper was cured because of his faith.
“Your will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven.” God’s will is perfect. We need to listen to him and trust in His will. What we want isn’t always what God wills, so even if you feel like God isn’t listening, He is, He may just have different plans for us.
Today´s reading is very powerful and meaningful. I took a lot of different meanings from it. The main meaning I took was that anything is possible. Jesus can help you so much, so just trust. He can cure anything, but you have to believe. Jesus can heal anything but we have to have trust in him. Believe, Believe. Let´s practice this starting today.
Jesus has the power to heal people immediately and some people feel like this is impossible now but if you think about him dying lets him continue through confession. You can still do this you just have to humble yourself like they did and go to confession.
In today’s reading ¨See that you tell no one anything¨ this stuck out to me because God wants us to trust him without having proof. Even though we struggle with believing without seeing we have to practice or else we will struggle to get to to heaven.
A phrase that stuck out to me is he stretched out his hand touched the leper and said to him I do will it. I like this phrase because it tells me that the leaper is clear and he is converted. This tells me that Jesus can never be out done. Another reason is that people that have that condition don’t happen now we can cure other people now.
This is a story of Jesus curing a leper and how they have to leave their families and lives because they are forced to leave everything behind and go live with leapers on the wall.
In our darkest hour or hardest time we may feel lost. God will reach out to us and try to help us. He can’t help us if we don’t want help. If we try to ignore him, we’ll dig a deeper hole for ourselves. But, if we turn around and try to be open to God, we can’t be found again.
“Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.” stuck out to me it always means a lot when God is trying to tell us to spread his word. Something else that stuck out to me is he stretched out his hand and touched the leper. God has no fear and and he’ll accept any of us no matter how ugly our sin is.
Jesus is curing the lepers and that they had to leave their families and everything that they have has to be left behind. And then they have to go and live with the other lepers.
Jesus can heal us,if we need help go to him.he will help you,he will not hesitate. That’s what this teaches us nothing is
impossible for him.
Jesus can heal we just have to ask and pray and it may take time and happen slowly but it will happen. Just like the Leper asked and he received. God is capable of everything and is in control of every one but he gave us free will and died for us so I think that God will heal us if we asked.
“I do will it. Be made clean.” This phrase is talking about how we will all do bad things and make the choices, but God will always forgive us that is what this phrase is talking about. The leper reached out and said “If you wish, you can make me clean.” This leper had to beg to get what he wanted.
Jesus will save us he will heal us we must be patient with him thats why he sent down the holy spirit to guide us. Jesus will heal us when the time is right for him. We shouldnt ignore him or we will keep fading away from him.
In the scripture I realized that Jesus truly was the nicest, kindest, and the Son of God. He didn’t care if someone was a leper or a robber, heck even a sinner He was kind to them and treated everyone equally. He wanted the leper to be healed so he healed. “If you wish, you can make me clean.”
Moved with pity, he stretched out his hand,
touched the leper, and said to him,
“I do will it. Be made clean.”
Look at what Jesus did!
He healed a leper and made the leper feel welcome to society again.
God loves us no matter what even when we feel like nobody loves us God is always ready for us with open arms no matter what Hes always ready for us we just have to trust him and feel him in our lives so he can work himself in our lives
Jesus can cleanse us and he wants to cleanse us, but we need to go to him and give thanks to him for him to cleanse us. He created confession for us to be cleansed and forgiven here on earth. But to be eternally cleansed we need to get to heaven.
The lepers were cut off from the community and isolated. Jesus still loves him and he healed the leper. “I do will it. Be made clean.” Jesus tells the leper to not tell anyone so that he could go into town and help other people without getting stuck in a really big crowd. Nothing can stop God and he can heal anyone and anything, nothing is bigger than God
When the leper asked Jesus to heal him, He did it. But when the leper came back to the city fully healed and clean, he told others who had healed him even though he was told not to. Jesus forgave him. When we do something wrong, God will forgive us. He is our savior. He died for us, and we still ask of things from Him. When you do something wrong, own up to it, not lie about it, and ask for forgiveness. And Jesus will answer. Not just because he is our savior, Because he loves us.
Jesus can do anything, more than we can ever imagine, God reaches out to us and helps us always, more than we can fathom. It just depends on if we are going to take his hand.
I personally cannot imagine a life without Jesus. If i’m having a hard time who do I turn to? Jesus. If I need help with something personal going on in my life, who do I turn to? Jesus. I know I can trust Jesus because he will always be there for me even in the hardest times, when i’m suffering through pain.
There are no whoppers too big for His grace. Grace restores what sin has damaged, allow yourself to be forgiven and healed. We need to believe in God for him to do things for you.
God will heal us and can do anything we need if we will it and is not a slot machine that we just come to when we need it. we should come to him always and do it for every one.
This reading reminds me of the sacrament of reconciliation because even though Jesus isn’t curing us of leprosy he is curing us of our sins. Jesus said he did will it which means he does want us to be healed of our spiritual wounds and burdens.
Jesus is a healer. The biggest message I got from this was even though we feel alone sometimes we aren’t God is always there he is always fiercely chasing after us.He loves us so much. He is love. God himself is love. His love can not compare to anything in the entire world. God sent his holy Son to save us and to die a horrible death. We live to die and once we die we go to heaven and live with God forever .
What i got from this was that if you ask you shall receive the leper asked and that what he got if you are ever struggling ask for him his love patience and his help if you ask you shall receive It is important that you member that.
This says that God will always heal us from our sin and forgive us.
“I will do it. Be made clean” I think this means is if you commit a sin you will be free from the sin and be clenaed. Everyone will make mistakes and Jesus will always wipe them clean.
Jesus can heal us. When we are eating the Eucharist it’s like God is healing us. Whatever God is trying to tell you and it’s something you shouldn’t publicize, you shouldn’t publicize.
The scripture is saying that when we ask Jesus for something he will give it to us! He wants to heal us from our sickness, our sin.He is like the leper. WE need to ask Jesus to save us, to heal us from out sin so we can be with him forever and ever.
“If you wish, you can make me clean.” This stuck out to me because it tells me that we have to trust God and believe that He will help us.
This to me represents that Jesus will always heal you it doesn’t matter if he’s healing your sins or you phiscaly he will always help you if you pray for healing as long as it is in-line with his fathers will.
Moved with pity, he stretched out his hand, touched the leper, and said to him, “I will do it. Be made clean.” Jesus cured the leper and God can get rid of our sins
This reminds me of when jesus said, “ask and you shall receive” because the lepor asked to be cleansed and jesus cleansed him. This shows that when we are in need of spiritual help, we can pray to God and he will attempt to help us.
Jesus gives himself to us and gives us an opportunity to receive His grace. The only way back to the Father is through a Savior. Jesus willfully took our place to redeem us. There is no limit to Jesus’s mercy.
Jesus can cleanse us of any sin if and only if he wills it. He brings us into his family and cleans us of original sin through baptism. Jesus can heal us no matter the sin or sickness.
Today, Jesus wants us to know his power and he can do anything for us. He is telling us that when we ask we shall receive and he will do it if you have faith in him.
“See that you tell no one anything, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer for your cleansing what Moses prescribed; that will be proof for them.” The man went away and began to publicize the whole matter. He spread the report abroad. This part really stuck out to me because Jesus said that it was very important not to tell anyone, but the leper went out and told EVERYONE. Then Jesus could no longer go into the city and had to stay away, but people found him and were constantly asking him to heal them.
What stuck out to me is that Jesus told the leper to show himself to the priest to be cleansed by what Moses prescribed, so that the priests would allow him back into their religious community. We too must forgive and allow people back into our lives. Forgiveness sets free the chains that bind us filled with hatred, anger, frustration, worry, anxiety, and bitterness towards another. Forgive and experience peace. This stuck out to me because sometimes people can be really mean and it’s hard to forgive them but you need to at least try to forgive them even when they are mean to you. Just because people are mean doesn’t mean you have to be mean back
Then, you hear that there is a Man that can cure you and set you free of your illness. Just as the leper did, we would fall to our knees and beg Jesus to heal us. Now, stop imagining and instead of a leper insert you and me as a sinner.
I would beg till the end time to be forgiving and be let into heaven.
Jesus can heal us just as he healed the leper. We need to ask Jesus to make us clean from sin just as the leper did in the scripture. God loves us and we need his sacrifice that’s why we ask for our forgiveness.
what i got from this scripture and what stuck out to me is just how merciful jesus is and how he loves us no matter what and how we have an amazing tool confession to wipe sin away and live for enternity in heaven. we have a choice to go to hevaen and believe or to not believe, to not go to church, and to not live a holy and happy life. i feel like everyone in this day in age is just mad and focusing on every little thing that didnt go there way they waist so much time worrying about the smallest thing we are all a victim to this mindset but you can break away you dont have to be sad or angry if YOU do what YOU want to do and not worry what other people may think god gave us a beautiful earth to explore and be happy and peaceful, spread the word of jesus christ. we have one life one very precius life and we can choose to live it to the fullest and preach the name of god, or we can sit inside all day complain about things you dont have controll of when we can just be happy and give our hearts to god dont waste all of your time being sad and dreading in the past because you have absolutely no controll of that however you do have control of the futre god gave us freewill its all your choice you just have to do whats best for you and what you want to do dont let other people decide for you. God loves you!!!
In today’s scripture, I learned that GOD HEALS. God heals through people like Jesus, the Saints, Mary, and even people in our present world. God heals spiritually, physically, and mentally. He can fix anything, but we have to be patient and faithful with Him. God gives and God takes. We can trust God’s will because God knows what He’s doing.
I think today’s scripture passage is trying to help us understand that Jesus loves us more than we could ever know and he would do anything for us. If we follow God and trust Him, He can heal us.
We should do what Jesus tells us to do. He has a plan and we should follow his ways. He can do the impossible just like he healed the leper.
Ask and you shall receive. If you ask the Lord for a blessing and you truly believe it shall come true. You need to believe in him. You also need to spread the word. If you get a blessing from the Lord, spread it so that other people may believe in the Lord.
It says that we should always listen to God. He will always tell us the truth and be there for us. He is trying to help us stay on the right path so we should always listen to him because he will never lie to us.
Jesus always cares and He cared so much for the poor leper and so he healed him. Jesus is also humble because he wanted no one to know about what had happened and how he healed the leper
what the scripture is telling me is that if we are open to God’s love and care he will show his love to us with healing and help. we are told to spread the word but not tell anyone of what God has done for you. but say only that you prayed and you are forgiven and healed. the story reminds me of going to confession and the lepresy is like all of your sins and God heals you or forgives you of your sins.
i think this scripture is about the kindness of jesus. Jesus welcomed everyone no matter if they were sinners or not. we should be more like jesus and welcome everyone. This scripture really shows the golden rule. we need to treat people as we want to be treated.
This scripture stood out to me today. I connected to it and it said we are kinda banned from Heaven until we clean our souls just like the lepers had to clean themselves to enter back into the kingdom. We are sinners
I think this scripture represents reconciliation. The leper is us and his disease is our sin. We have to go to Jesus if we want to be cleansed from our sin.
lepers were exiled from where they lived because they were considered unclean and unholy. people feared the lepers and tried to stay away from them but Jesus had no fear of them and he healed them without a second thought. if we think that we are too far gone in our sin to ever be saved we can just think of the lepers who were considered to be dirty and unholy and jesus let them come to him and he accepted them with open arms
One thing that stuck out to me was kinda how the leper didn’t beg to be cleaned he said, “if you wish make me clean” and Jesus did. Jesus will never push himself on you you have to invite his presents to be with you he wont force it on you. it is your choice to follow Christ. You should know whats right.
A leper came to him and kneeling down begged him and said,
“If you wish, you can make me clean.”
Moved with pity, he stretched out his hand,
touched the leper, and said to him,
“I do will it. Be made clean.” God works in ways that we dont always understand. I think that this scripture has a deeper meaning, that Jesus healed the lepers heart. When he humbled himslef down and asked “If you wish, you can make me clean.” he was asking for him to be healed knowing that Jesus was different and he knew He was God.
All Jesus want from us is love and trust. And the leper today trusted Him enough to go ask for help. He wasn’t told that he would be healed if he went, but he trusted Jesus enough to go ask, believing that he would not be turned away. We need to follow this leper’s example and trunt Jesus enough to ask Him for the big things. “Ask, and you shall recieve.” John 16:24
I think this scripture is telling us that we need to make Jesus a bigger part of our life we need to be closer to God to make it to heaven.
“I will do it. Be made clean.” This stood out to me because we all sin no matter the time or place and if you sin then God will forgive you with his whole heart. God will forgive you but if it’s a serious sin then we need to go to confession. Serious sins are not good to hold in especially when we are about to receive communion. God is here for you forever and always.
IN this gospel Jesus heals a leaper. This shows that even if we did horrible things in our life. If we just ask God for forgiveness. He will forgive us. What Jesus can do for us is crazy if you think about it. He is so merciful and kind because he died on the cross for us and we are still doing bad things. And after those bad things he still gives us faith and says i forgive your sins.
A leper came to him and kneeling down begged him and said,
“If you wish, you can make me clean.”
Moved with pity, he stretched out his hand,
touched the leper, and said to him,
“I do will it. Be made clean.”
I think we all need to really think about this point in the scripture because Jesus really tries to teach us not to think of anyone badly and to always be welcoming when you’re around them.
In the scripture today I think Jesus is telling us that we have to listen to Him and we also need to spread the word to those who may not know or not know much about the scripture but we can help them and tell them.
I think the scripture is saying that God is extremely powerful and He helps us when we are in need, but instead of He, Himself publicizing it He wants it to remain private. We as Christians should be able to worship and not go around publicizing it just to get the attention of others just to make others feel inferior.
This leper approached Jesus with no fear and no doubt, “’If you wish, you can make me clean.’” He knew who Jesus was, and he knew of Jesus’s power. I think that we should be like this man, coming to God without doubt, and asking him for what we need.
“Be made clean” Jesus tells the leper to be made clean. Just like the leper, we also need to be made clean through confession. Confession needs to be a habit, not just something we do once every 6 months for school. We need to take the grace Jesus gives us and be made clean.
This gospel tells us that if we ask we may recieve. Sometimes we think if we bragain with god we will get healing or something in return, for example; saying that we will pray five decades if he heals us or read the whole bible if he heals our whole family. Jesus is not a slot machine and we need to learn how to just ask and be patient.
This shows our life but instead of having an illness we are sinners. If we come to God in confession fully opened up and ready to receive his love and grace we will be saved from our sins and will go about rejoicing His name.
“If you wish, you can make me clean.” Is the phrase that stuck out to me most. The leper had immense faith in Jesus, that He could cure him. We have to have the same faith that Jesus is all powerful, and that He can help us with whatever we need. “If you wish” symbolizes Jesus’ will and plan for us, that if it is in His plan, He will make it happen.
I think today’s scripture is trying to tell us that we need to proclaim the Gospel. We need to be showing God’s word to everybody and not keep them all to ourselves. When we share the word of God we are helping others take time for our God.
Today in the scripture it says “If you wish, you can make me clean.”Moved with pity, he stretched out his hand, touched the leper, and said to him,“I will do it. Be made clean.” This shows how Jesus would do anything for us. It’s almost showing the input and output of confession. Picture it, you go into confession, you confess your sins, and then boom you’re given a penance and Jesus forgives you. It shows another part of his undying love for us.
In the scripture, it was said that Jesus was moved by pity. He didn’t do this because he was forced to, He did it because He had a choice to do the greater good. Jesus could have avoided the disabled completely but that’s not who He is. He is a savior, not by force, by choice.
This scripture is talking about how Jesus cleaned the leopard and Jesus cleaning the leopard reminds me of us getting baptized and Jesus is cleaning us and make us his sons and daughters but it also remind me of confession because the leopard got down on his knees for Jesus and says please clean me and that also happens in confession we are asking Jesus to clean our sins.
“See that you tell no one anything, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer for your cleansing what Moses prescribed; that will be proof for them.” The man went away and began to publicize the whole matter.” The leper disobeyed Jesus just like we disobey Him. Even though He does love us very much, we still shouldn’t take advantage of that and disobey Him. Just because it’s a little sin, doesn’t mean you didn’t disobey Christ.
¨See that you tell no one anything¨ This stood out because it hard for all of us to believe that Jesus Christ is real and a lot of people tell you that He is not. Which makes things harder for us and we get all confused because we don’t know what to believe. But we should have patients and love Him that one day He will come.
God does amazing things for us, and we all want to share it. God told the man not to tell anyone, but the man disobeyed him. God tells us to do things and even if we don’t want to obey we have to. Being obedient to God will have a wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better reward than disobeying him. Always obey even when it is hard.
It is saying that we need to ask Jesus for help and He will help us, but we need to return the favor by giving our time up and money. We need to spend time with Him, we can’t just ask for something then never come back. He will be with us forever so we need to do the same thing.
¨See that you tell no one anything¨ This stood out because it hard for all of us to believe that Jesus Christ is real and a lot of people tell you that He is not. Which makes things harder for us and we get all confused because we don’t know what to believe. But we should have patients and love Him that one day He will come.
Wow, what tough times the lepers must’ve had. They straight up get kicked out of town because of their disease. God would never do this to us. We may sin, but that doesn’t stop him from loving us without end. We must accept His love and we shall be saved.
Today´s reading is very powerful and meaningful. I took a lot of different meanings from it. The main meaning I took was that anything is possible. Jesus can help you so much, so just trust. He can cure anything, but you have to believe.
I think its saying that we need to be more appreciative for the things we have. We need to give thanks to God for everything. He got us here so we need to give back.
i love this because i feel like when you pray it cleans you and helps you feel better when your feel down. God will always be there and he will never not love.
“I do will it. Be made clean.”
God can do anything, never doubt God he is always with you and will always find a way for you.
This shows me that Jesus will be willing to cleanse the filthiest of people because he truly loves us.
¨Jesus wills to heal us and He willed to die on the cross to fulfill His Father’s will to redeem us from Adam and Eve’s original sin.¨ That stuck out to me because he would do anything for us and we have to trust in him. And he saves us from our sins and he saves us from our own mistakes.
Jesus wills to heal us and He willed to die on the cross to fulfill His Father’s will to redeem us from Adam and Eve’s original sin. We can’t forget this part of our identity. We take a bigger part in making Jesus die on the cross instead of the people who wanted that to happen to him. We should think of that when we sin and lie to one another. We should look at that cross in sorrow thinking that we did that and not just going to church and thinking oh it is just another day. We should always think of what God told us to do and do it since we sent him on that cross.
What stuck out to me was him just being there for the leper even though people would view him as different and weird and just overall a bad person even though he is the greatest person ever to exist. I also think that more people shouldve been there I think if that were too happen now and someone had covid more people would be there for them and that Jesus would be an example and be noticed by the common people.
God’s grace shows that He is the one true God because He does not care if you are a leper or disabled or anything like that. He will forgive anyone who asks for forgiveness. God’s grace is so perfect and Holy that it can heal anything broken or strengthen anything fixed.
“If you wish, you can make me clean.”
To me that means that he wants to be like everybody else and he doesn’t want to be different when really being different is perfect. God didn’t make us to be the same he made us to be US
Jesus doesn’t care what you look like. Why do I say this? I say it because leprosy makes the person look not that…well clean. But Jesus loves each of us equally no matter what you’ve done, who you’ve hurt, or even what you look like. Yet knowing all of this we, as humans still try to make ourselves ‘better’ and usually we make things go worse. Long story short no matter what God will always love you even if you won’t love Him.
“If you wish, you can make me clean.” “I do will it. Be made clean.” These two phrases stuck out to me becuase it is like us asking God if we can be cleansed of our sins. God is so loving that no matter what – as long as we mean it – He will forgive us and we will be made clean. Like how the leper asked Jesus if he could be cleansed and He said yes.
I sometimes think that God is annoyed at everyone, and when we go to confession He just waves his hand for everyone, making their sins go away but not having it be a personal experience. But God wants us to come to Him, in fact He is running toward us, yet we keep running away from him, thinking that we know what’s best for us. We need to forget our pride and follow him!
Then, warning him sternly, he dismissed him at once. Then he said to him, “See that you tell no one anything, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer for your cleansing what Moses prescribed; that will be proof for them.” This shows us that God is powerful and that he doesn’t need to tell anyone who he is, they just understand that it is God. God can heal anything and he knows everyone’s health, so trust him.
He willfully took our place to redeem us. God’s love is unfair. Do we appreciate it?When i read this part it hit me because when we think back to Jesus crucifixion we don’t always immediately feel super thankful we feel thankful but we don’t look into how amazing he was dying so that we can be with him forever.
Today scripture says to me once again that Gods love is unconditional and it is a radical love. When we are sinners and Jesus always wants to be with us and wants us to be closer to him. In order to be closer to him we must pray and truly accept his love in our hearts. Praying is our link to God and Jesus and their love can give us strength to do anything. God loves us so we must love him.
What stuck out to me was that Jesus healed the leper. I think that stuck out to me because it shows me that he can heal me in any circumstance but mostly he can heal my soul when I sin he can forgive my sin and heal my sin so that my sin can go away.
I think if he can heal a leper he can definitely help us no matter what happens.
Jesus wants to welcome everybody into the kingdom. Just like what the article said, Jesus is not like a slot machine meaning there isn’t a 50/50 percent chance we will get what we are praying for, He wants to heal us period.
What stood out to me in this passage is the fact that Jesus told him not to tell anyone, even though Jesus could quickly become famous and have His name known, He chose to not to.
The leper today asks for healing. What do we need in today’s world? Healing. We need God to come into our life and help us with something. We need God. We are human. We are dependent on our Creator. We can’t do things for ourselves. We must trust God and rely on Him to take care of us.
We cannot survive without God’s forgiveness and love. He will heal us and make us clean of our sins. It is impossible to go through life being a sinner and being truly happy. When we give ourselves to God, He makes us clean and we can experience being happy with the Trinity.
This reading reminds me of the sacrament of reconciliation because even though Jesus isn’t curing us of leprosy he is curing us of our sins. Jesus said he did will it which means he does want us to be healed of our spiritual wounds and burdens.
We killed Jesus and put him on a cross on Calvary and he came back and forgave us. Jesus loves us, He just wants us to get to heaven and to get to know him. Jesus came down to live with us 2000 years ago and he knew that he had to die. But he didn’t care. God loves us. He sent his only son to save us.
This whole story made me feel so sad. I felt like I wanted to go outside and just go up to people and say, “Jesus loves you.” I wanted to run to the Church and thank people for going to mass. I want to run over to homeless people and give them a feast to enjoy. I feel like people are excluded from reality and it is visibly blind by others and AI.
