“HE TOLD HIS DISCIPLES TO HAVE A BOAT READY FOR HIM BECAUSE OF THE CROWD, SO THAT THEY WOULD NOT CRUSH HIM.” MK 3:7-12
Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
Jesus withdrew toward the sea with his disciples.
A large number of people followed from Galilee and from Judea.
Hearing what he was doing,
a large number of people came to him also from Jerusalem,
from Idumea, from beyond the Jordan,
and from the neighborhood of Tyre and Sidon.
He told his disciples to have a boat ready for him because of the crowd,
so that they would not crush him.
He had cured many and, as a result, those who had diseases
were pressing upon him to touch him.
And whenever unclean spirits saw him they would fall down before him
and shout, “You are the Son of God.”
He warned them sternly not to make him known. MK 3:7-12
Why do people desire Jesus? On the surface, because he heals them. Spiritually, he has mercy on them as a sinner and frees them from sin. More deeply though, He has what we want, POWER! Lucifer, the fallen angel, the most powerful angel wanted that power more than anything and could not have it. Today, Lucifer continues to seek and destroy love wherever he can, especially marriage and the family is under attack.
A person wants to control everything in their lives and they are so upset when their plans don’t work out (ego). A person gets upset when they can’t control people in their relationships and make them do what they want (ego). Power, when used incorrectly is about popularity or status, wealth, strength, high positions, awards, and achievement (ego).
It is not bad to desire to achieve when a person uses the gifts God has blessed them with to the best of their ability to share with others. St. Teresa of Calcutta said, “It does not matter how much we accomplish, but how much we love.” The problem is when a person obsesses over it, work too many hours and leave their families behind, miss Mass for weekend sports tournaments, and have to go into extreme debt to keep up a fake life of wealth to keep up their status. Mother Teresa said, “In the end, it is always between you and God.” Bishop Barron says in his book “The Strangest Way”, every person’s beginning and end always lead us on the road to Calvary to meet the Man on the Cross.
Jesus has done an amazing job of revealing Himself to us in the last 3 weeks. He comes to us as a baby, completely innocent and poor. He is revealed at the Epiphany and worshiped by earthly kings recognizing Him as the one who has all of the POWER and is the one True King. God, with this power, does not hold it over our heads and use it against us, He gave it to us and gave Himself to us, so we may share in this power which is love, His divinity. This is the Good News, God became Man so man can become divine and live in a divine spiritual world in total and complete holiness for all eternity. Holy equals happy!
He is adored by the shepherds who were told by angels that God is on earth to bring peace to His people. Zechariah and Anna reveal at the Presentation in the temple, “This child will be responsible for the rise and fall of many in Israel”. Mary’s heart is pierced which begins a sorrowful and suffering heart that recognizes the most POWERFUL will have to suffer and die to REDEEM all sinners.
Then, John the Baptist speaks prophetic words, “Behold, the Lamb of God”. God speaks from the heavens and says, “This is my beloved Son of whom I am well pleased”. Now, we enter into Jesus’s healing ministry in the Gospel of Mark. This is to fulfill prophecies from the Old Testament about a Messiah who will come to save His people. It is to draw people to Him. But, most importantly it is to teach us how to use POWER correctly, by SERVING and HUMILITY. Jesus uses the greatest power to serve. He uses it to love. He uses it to have compassion on others.
Most importantly, a person may struggle with POWER every day of their lives. If a person truly desires God in their hearts, they must let go of all of their power and submit to the ONE POWER that can make them the most joyful in this life and the next. Humanities identity is in the GREATEST POWER through His death and resurrection, they are made in His image and likeness, they are baptized into His family and become His child, through the blood of Christ they become His brother or sister, the GREATEST POWER lives in them in the Holy Spirit and is given to them in the SACRAMENTS.
God’s grace is His life in us. This is why the saints went to Mass daily sometimes more and to confession sometimes daily or weekly. They recognized how POWERLESS they were and how much POWER God had to help them be holy and fight Satan. God desires nothing more than to give you His love and grace. Our greatest POWER is living to be the person God made us to be and sharing that with others.
God’s love is the most POWERFUL thing in the world. It conquered sin and death. It overcomes evil and darkness in our world. It forgives and is for giving. It heals. It changes lives and creates lives. Most importantly, God’s POWER is LOVE. There is no greater POWER than God’s LOVE in all the world. NOTHING has ever beat God’s LOVE!!! Our POWER is pale in comparison to God’s POWER. We will be held accountable by this POWER on judgment day. At some point we are going to have to submit to the POWER that created us, it would be smart not to let that be our death bed.
It would also be wise to humbly submit to Him, give Him everything, visit Him daily in prayer, invite Him into our daily activities and especially our temptations, visit His mother daily and ask for her help since He told us to from the Cross, receive Him at Mass, and share Him with others by modeling Him in our lives being who we were created to be. Why do people desire Jesus and want to get so close to Him and crush Him? Holiness is attractive. He is the Way to our heavenly home, our hearts greatest desire. He gives us the POWER to get there and the joy is overwhelming.
Today’s challenge: Make a habit of getting up early in the morning to spend time with Jesus to make Him the center of your life, not just a part of your life. Give up yourself totally and completely to Him through Mary and everything you own. Allow Him to have power over you, so that you have power over the Devil and your desires.
Be a servant, become a saint!

In this Gospel, Jesus preaches and heals a bunch of people. When we are weak and broken, we should come to Jesus for help. He is the one to save us. Even the demons know that Jesus is our Lord and God. We should always come to Jesus.
What reached out to me was when it said, “He had cured many “. What this means to me is that through Jesus we will do the right things. Whenever we need to make any decisions in life, we might be unsure of what to do or which to choose, but if we turn to Jesus everything will become clearer.
Jesus is truly the Son of God, and the scripture today proves it. “whenever unclean spirits saw him they would fall down before him
and shout, ‘You are the Son of God.'” Even the unclean spirits knew. At this time people were beginning to believe, we should now too.
He told them to not make it known so that he could fulfill what his father desires and so we can get to heaven and be crucified because if the word got out that there was a new king everyone would be flipping out.
People desire Jesus, why? People want Jesus because He can heal you but not just on the outside. He heals you from within, He saves us. With that much information everyone should desire Him, but they don’t and not all of us still understand why. It’s crazy to think about how they don’t want Him.
In today’s reading I noticed how Jesus was healing everyone that came to him. The followers came from everywhere and asked for forgiveness and to be cured. SO many that Jesus requested a boat to to not be crushed because his crowd was so large yet he didn’t seem to want to be the center of attention.
I think this Gospel is telling me to be patient with people which is something I struggle with. Jesus had thousands of people following him everywhere begging for him to heal them. I can’t imagine the pressure Jesus had felt. I either would start yelling at them to get away or I would run away but Jesus didn’t, he had patience.
Jesus was so good at spreading the gospel he always had crowds around him if he was near a big city the only way all the people could see him was to go out onto a boat.
that he is in our botey and is all way withus even thow we don show is and to hellp pepol in nead and show us that we are not a lone diring the hard time st in or lhif
Jesus is truly the Son of God. Even the unclean spirits knew and would fall before Him saying, “You are the Son of God.” Jesus is real. God really gave us His Only Son because He loves us and wants us to be with us in Heaven.
Jesus is truly the Son of God, and the scripture today proves it. “Whenever unclean spirits saw Him they would fall down before Him
and shout, ‘You are the Son of God.'” Even the unclean spirits knew. People were beginning to believe, we should now too.
We as sinners think we are God. That’s a bit of an exaggeration, but we use power to compare ourselves to God. We want power because it puts us in control. At some point, we all desire power. The truth is, we can’t overpower God. God is all powerful. God is powerful, but He uses His power to love and inspire us. God doesn’t use His power to be the evil dictator of our lives, He uses it to lead us to Him so we can love Him.
Jesus attracted a large group of people, and hearing him and touching him, He cured many.
People from all over the world came to one spot, why? Because of the Holy Spirit. Because of a yearning placed in our souls long before the beginning of the world. To love and to be loved. People came because this man was doing miracles and healing not only the body, but also the soul. He was forgiving sins and showing love to all, not just the rich. Everyone wants to be loved and Jesus has perfect love. By continuing to seek Him out and knock at the door, we will be answered by the King of kings and Lord of lords. By the man who loves you and created you. So every day we should seek Him out in prayer and listen to what He has to say.
God wants us to find him our self and not use him like a slot machine that is most likely why he Jesus warned them sternly not to make him known he wants to realize we need him and not just be spread around and shared to people who do not care. He still loves everyone but want them to realize that they are dependent on him and give themselves to him.
A phrase that stuck out to me is He told his disciples to have a boat ready for him because of the crowd so that they would not crush him. I like this phrase because it means to me that God is so popular that he needs a boat so he can talk to all of them. How I can apply this to my life is by saying how can I be part of this crown. I can be part of this by reading my bible and being in silence.
Satan is lurking in every corner waiting for us. When we stray from the faith or start to ignore our calling, he’s ready to drag us down. We NEED to be open to God, to lay everything at his feet and to pray and follow his commands. Bringing yourself to him and repenting is the way to get to heaven and be in paradise.
“Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done)” this is what Jesus trys to tell us every day and were to lazy to see it
Jesus heals not hurts, he is the Son of God, he is all mighty. The devil and Satan knows he heals and the devil leads us to the opposite (what is not right). Jesus heals all not one or a couple he heals everyone in the world if you love him or not he will always love you back.
Something that people can forget is that Jesus has healed, does heal, and will heal again. He can heal our soul without us even knowing because no matter how hard you try to hide from him, he is always in your soul. He floods you with so much love, and sometimes you just need prayer to find it.
Satan is always there,he waits for us,he lures us away from Jesus. The more we wander away from Jesus
the easier he can manipulate us,that’s why we all need to stay with Jesus because satan puts all of the
nasty thoughts that we have about ourselves and other people.
We need to go to god for forgiveness, the devil is always there and we are bound to fall into his grasp sometimes. But if we go to Jesus for help we get that leverage to break free of the devil. He won’t stop loving us because we committed a sin we do it all the time.
Jesus can heal all of us from all of our sufferings, sins, diseases, everything we just have to ask and through him all things are possible He will heal in the time that he thinks is best for us. Just trust in the Lord
everyone wanted to be near jesus. how do you feel when everyone, some people you don’t know want to be near you. your feel overwhelmed. and Jesus wanted to escape that. he wants to help everyone, not just because he is the son of God, because he loves us. if we ask for his help, he will aid us. he loves everyone, so he will help evryone. because he loves us equally, and with all his heart.
Jesus has unlimited power and unlimited love for us. He loved us so much that He, the holiest of hollies, would heal us sinners and submit himself to sick people. I think of this as like reconciliation but for sickness. Jesus heals the sick and forgives them of their sins, and we are “sick” when we go to confession and when we leave we are healed from our sins! Jesus is all loving, all forgiving, and all knowing. You can’t hide your sin from God so if you try to, it’s not worth all the trouble. You can’t hide from God. He is trying to talk to us and we just have to listen. My favorite quote of today’s gospel was this, And whenever unclean spirits saw him they would fall down before him
and shout, “You are the Son of God.”
He warned them sternly not to make him known.
It says that Jesus had to have a boat so when he was preaching to the people they would be able to hear him and see him. And there was so many people there because he cured a lot of people.
People desire Jesus because they think he takes away the pain. They think that if you have Jesus nothing can go wrong. that is why many people fall away from the faith. Jesus never said he would take away the pain, he just said he would be with you through the pain. many people don’t understand it, so many people think peace is just when everything is quiet and you don’t have to worry because nothing is going on. what peace really is, is when you know God is with you so you don’t have to worry.
NOTHING has ever beat God’s LOVE!!! This stuck out to me, I think this means a lot it tells us that nothing is stronger or more powerful than God’s love, It will always beat us. even when we sin our sins are forgiven because God loves us, If he didn’t he wouldn’t have sent his only son to die on the cross for our sins.
what struck me was that since Jesus has all the power, most of us are just using him as a slot machine since we are weak and broken.
It would also be wise to humbly submit to Him, give Him everything, visit Him daily in prayer, invite Him into our daily activities and especially our temptations. We need to talk to God and have him help with our temptations. He will always be there for you.
Jesus is real and we desire him whether we know it or not. Thousands of people traveled great distances just to see Jesus, and he forgave them of their sins and made them feel relief and happiness. We are broken and weak and we need God to heal us and forgive us for our sins, we can’t make ourselves happy, only God can. We don’t have any power or control compared to Jesus. When we think that we achieve something like score a goal or get a good grade, that is not us, that is through the power of God’s gifts working in us. Our time here on earth is limited, but time in heaven is forever, so we need to spend time here on earth working towards a life forever in heaven.
i know that if a was jesus and all of these random people came up to me and started touching me I would be annoyed and upset i dont now how he did it how he keeped culm and heald them.
Jesus can heal us on the outside and the inside. Jesus heals us not because he has to because he wants to. Jesus loves us he loves everybody in a different way. He wants us to want him. In the end we are not going to have phones we are not going to have money we aren’t going to have our friends in the end we will only have Jesus.
Jesus curing people with sicknesses/disabilities is an example of “ask and you shall receive” and it shows how much jesus would do for us to love good lives
i meant to say live not love mb
What reached out to me was when it said, “He had cured many “. What this means to me is that through Jesus we will do the right things. Whenever we need to make any decisions in life, we might be unsure of what to do or which to choose, but if we turn to Jesus everything will become clearer.
What God is trying to tell us is that, he can heal anything, but we have to be patient on him to heal us because he can’t heal every single one of us at the same time, all in the span of a millisecond, so we have to be patient with God
He had cured many and, as a result, those who had diseases were pressing upon him to touch him. And whenever unclean spirits saw him they would fall down before him and shout, “You are the Son of God.” He warned them sternly not to make him known. Jesus can clean you from any unclean spirits and make them clean like us we need to be clean from our og sin
what speaks to me in this passage is when he said “ive cured many” i think this osi our call to fall in love with jesus christ to actually wants him he will heal you all you have to do is ask ans live a holy life wich leads to happieness.
In the Gospel today, it’s talking about how Jesus had healed so many people that he was very known and everyone wanted to be healed. I think it’s telling us that even when we are sad or hurt that we should go to Jesus to heal us.
“And whenever unclean spirits saw him they would fall down before him and shout, “You are the Son of God.”
I found this part interesting because it reminds me when Judas betrayed Jesus. It also makes me think about when we go to confession the priest takes place of Jesus to take away our sins and cast away the unholy things we have done when we sin.
Jesus attracted so many people that he needed a boat just so everyone could litsen to him preach the kingdom of God, and it wasnt just people from where he was staying it was people from all over Galilee and Judea that had heard of his wonders.
which begins a sorrowful and suffering heart that recognizes the most POWERFUL will have to suffer and die to REDEEM all sinners.
saying Jesus would die on the cross for us so we can be healed of our sin and go to heaven.
He also heals us with prayer and we talk to him about how life is going and he will talk back.
When we go to Jesus we can get cleaned of our sin and unhealthy habits if we just let him into our soul. What we need to do is let Jesus into our house and our hearts. We need to open ourselves to him and be totally vulnerable to him so he can cleanse us of all our sin and shame.
This is telling us Jesus is TRULY the Son of God. Even the unclean spirits bowed down to him and yelled “You are the Son of God”.
What stuck out to me is that “God’s love is the most POWERFUL thing in the world. ” Sometimes I worry that God will no longer love when ever i do something bad but we have to remember that God will love you no matter what and will always be there for you and love you his love is the greatest power.
what struck me was that since Jesus has all the power, most of us are just using him as a slot machine since we are weak, and It would also be smart to give Him everything, visit Him daily in prayer, invite Him into our daily activities and our temptations. We need to talk to God and have him help with our temptations.
What stuck out to me was that people come to Jesus because he heals them and he frees us from sin. God became man so man can become divine. If a person truly desires God in their hearts, they must let go of all of their power. God wants nothing more than to give you his love and grace. God’s love is the greatest power.
Jesus told the sinners not to shout his name. Why? Why does he not want the world to know that he is the Holy One? Why does he reject the people that say that?
We naturally “flock” towards God but we have to be willing to listen to him when we see or hear him. If we listen to him we can be saved from the devil. We are attracted to the power he brings us and gives us. He shares with us so we can love him and understand a part of him.
I think the scripture is saying the reason we want God so much is that he fills us with his love and mercy and gives us a place of rest. We take all of our time on ourselves. What we want, and want we have and don’t have that we make no time to seek the love and mercy of God. We say we would follow Jesus if we were born in that time, but would we follow Jesus because we love him and want his mercy, want to know him better, love him more deeply, be with him forever? or would we follow him because he would heal us. That’s what I think is a lot of peoples problems. They only pray when something bad is happening. that’s why we don’t have a good relationship with God.
Everybody was surrounding Jesus because they wanted to be healed by Him. Even though it was getting crowed, Jesus had patience. We should have patience in our everyday life just as Jesus did when the crowds were surrounding him.
When Jesus was alive, people would always come to Him to be healed. They would come to Him because they knew that He could heal. Now, not many people come to Jesus anymore. Not many people know that He is still alive, and that He is alive in every person. Many are attached to the darkness of this world, and don’t realize what is important in life. It is important to listen to Jesus often and let Him be with us. If we don’t listen to Him, then what’s the point of living our Faith?
This gospel impacted the lives of Mr. Swords’ World History Class, 4th hr, by increasing our productivity, and increased our love for Jesus even more. We thought it was interesting that Jesus ordered the people not to spread the news that he was the Son of God. He wants them to believe without seeing, like what he told Thomas. We can apply this to our daily lives by trying to find God in our lives and not trying to ask for miracles or signs, just trying to find the goodness in each day.
P.S. Hello Mr. Goertz!
You guys rock! So good to hear from you! I have a Youtube channel now and I am on Spotify, its under my name Greg Goertz.
Said a prayer for all of you and hope all is well!
God Bless!
Today´s scripture passage is very key and important in our lives. The main meaning I got from this was that Jesus is everything. He is almighty and powerful. He does what is right for all even if it takes time. He knows whats best, and even if you don´t like it, he still has the power. Jesus has unlimited power. He can make anything happen at anytime of the day. Let´s try to practice trusting him.
And whenever unclean spirits saw him they would fall down before him
and shout, “You are the Son of God.” The people began to see that Jesus was God. We should see him as God in the Eucharist.
People desire Jesus because He has the power to heal us and help us. We need to understand that if something is going on in our lives, we need to come to Jesus, and He will help us.
Satan is always there to take us in the wrong direction. When we feel that he is taking us in the wrong direction we should turn around and go to God. God will help us with everything and he will heal us from sin and always be there for us. That is why we should always turn to him when we feel we are being tempted by Satan.
I feel this scripture just shows how famous Jesus was. How everyone wanted to hear his words and be cleaned if they were ill. And that even demons would summit to the sight of the son of God. Many followed him while many resented him.
God knew he was going to be crushed by the crowd. He knows more things than we know. He was also patient with the people too it show you how humble he is.
The people began to see that Jesus was God, We should see him as God in the Eucharist.
And whenever unclean spirits saw him they would fall
down before him and shout, “You are the Son of God.”
What stuck out to me was God’s love is the most POWERFUL thing in the world. This stuck out to me because it was telling us that we can do anything with God. We need God’s love to make it to heaven.
In the gospel God tells us how to overcome our desires. In this world everyone cares for popularity fame and we all want to be the best. Jesus says not to do that because of the consequences and things it can do to pull our father away from God. When God asks something of us we listen. Like when Jesus asked the apostles to have the boat ready they didn’t even think but to do exactly what he said. So follow him and you will have your answer.
what the scripture is telling me is that when jesus heals people he gains more and more followers. but that isnt what jesus is wanting to be known for and which is why he tells us not to make him known. people hear about his works and then want to be a follower of Christ because of his healing, not what he has done for us.
Jesus is out preaching and healing and he is quickly surrounded by a crowd of people. Jesus was always able to draw people to himself when he was alive, and now even though he hasn’t been walking the earth with us for a while he still finds away to bring people in to his church and to change their lives
We need to understand that God is powerful. If we need healing God will heal us. God has mercy on us even though we are sinners. We need to ask God for help to defeat the devil because if we don’t the devil will take control of our lives and we won’t live to the fullest we could.
WE NEED JESUS! Without Jesus this world would be totally different. There would be so much bad stuff in the world and no kind people. Jesus gave up everything for us and we need to thank Him. We all want power because it feels good to be in charge, but we will never have the power like God has. He is almighty and so loving.
The Scripture today was telling us that Jesus is humble because he didn’t’ want the evil spirits to tell people who he is by saying he is the Son of God
we tend to follow what is popular and what people say. in this story Jesus was a great leader and he was the one to follow. but the second someone doted him everyone followed suit and started protesting against him. this led to the crucifixion of Jesus. sometimes following the popular thing is hard and it will sometimes lead you down the wrong path. you need to stick to the right path, Gods path.
“He had cured many and, as a result, those who had diseases were pressing upon him to touch him. And whenever unclean spirits saw him they would fall down before him and shout, “You are the Son of God.” This has meaning to me because not everyone finds God right away. It takes time. You will find God eventually you just have to wait. Things take time. Like a flower it takes time to blossom and we need to take time to grow closer with God. Sometimes we just need to talk to God through silence. Especially if you have anxiety or depression. When we find God it will probably be the happiest day we’ve ever had.
We can never not be enough for Jesus. We could be a demon and Jesus would still love us. We have to come to Him for Him to heal us. There are millions of people that are sinners, so don’t feel like you are the only bad guy or girl. Jesus will accept you no matter what you look like or who you are, He does not care. He made you, we cannot be afraid of Him because he knows everything already, so what is the point of hiding things. Be YOU. No one cares what you look like. You were made so you could be you, not something else or someone else.
today’s scripture was basically telling us that we need to share the word of God if we do not spread the word how will we get to heaven. The bible says many times that if we do not go out and spread Gods word how will we get to follow Christ.
The great crowds that were there, were they there because they believed, or for their own gain? It said that the people who were diseased were basically trampling themselves just trying to touch Him, so that they would be healed. Sometimes we do the same thing today, and then get mad when nothing happens. But Jesus isn’t a vending machine. You can’t put a petition in and have it happen right away. Yes, Jesus said “Ask, and you shall recieve,” but He doesn’t say when. He also doesn’t say you will recieve exactly what you asked for. He will give to you what’s best for you, when it’s best for you.
Jesus has unlimited power and unlimited love for us. He loved us so much that He, the holiest of hollies, would heal us sinners and submit himself to sick people. I think of this as like reconciliation but for sickness. Jesus heals the sick and forgives them of their sins, and we are “sick” when we go to confession and when we leave we are healed from our sins
“He told his disciples to have a boat ready for him because of the crowd,so that they would not crush him.” This phrase stuck out to me especially because it shows how many people were truly coming to see Jesus. The amount of faith these people had to travel a very long time to meet Jesus. These people love and have so much faith that they would walk miles and miles. The question we need to ask ourselves is “Would I walk for Jesus?”
I think this scripture is trying to tell us to really spread the word on social media and try your hardest to tell others about Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit. Our Catholic Church is declining and we need to try our hardest to bring it back up again and have the Catholic Faith rise up and overcome these times.
What I think Jesus is saying is that He can heal us and help us out but we have to find Him and we can do that by praying, going to Mass, and showing love to others and acts of kindness and be able to just talk to Him. We have to also help Jesus by not sinning as much were still gonna sin but it is the sin that we keep doing we have to stop.
What stuck out to me was “And whenever unclean spirits saw him they would fall down before him and shout, “You are the Son of God.” because Jesus is here to save us. He is here to protect us. We all may not believe in Him but soon you will open your eyes and see that He is real. Listen to what your heart is telling you instead of listening to what other people are saying.
I think the Scripture is saying that we have to be followers of Christ. There was a crowd following Jesus. That shows how much people wanted to see Him. Jesus wants us to follow Him. We hurt Jesus when we sin. We have to resist temptation to sin because Jesus did.
Jesus was born a baby truly innocent and pure is what stuck out to me. This shows how God came into this world just like us, so we should treat him like our “friend” and talk to him daily because he truly loves us and wants us to build a close relationship with him.
It’s clear from this scripture that Jesus was a highly admired person. People came from all across the middle east to see this “God-Man”, people were amazed by Him.
This scripture is talking about how many people went to go see Jesus because he was healing people and getting rid of the demons and all this week in these scripture Jesus has been doing the same healing people and getting rid of demons which he still does everyday.
Jesus has amazing powers, and in today’s scripture, He is showing his power to heal. A crowd surrounds him, wanting him to heal them. They want his power, not him. I do not think it is wrong to ask Jesus for things, but I do think that it is a little concerning that the people in the scripture today are only asking, not praising. He even had to have a boat to run away so He wouldn’t be crushed. I think that we should remember to praise God, not for His power, but for His love.
“And whenever unclean spirits saw him they would fall down before him and shout, “You are the Son of God.” He warned them sternly not to make him known.” Was the phrase that stuck out to me. Jesus healed, but didn’t want people telling others. I think we can take that and put it into our own lives, we don’t need to brag about being a good person. Jesus wants us to be humble and he leads by example to show us who to try to be.
Everybody wanted to be healed by Jesus. They had faith that he could heal them. Many of them might not have known that he was the Son of God, but they heard about him, and believed that he could heal them or their loved ones. And Jesus did. He healed so many that he had to leave that land because so many had heard about him and wanted healed.
What stuck out to me was “And whenever unclean spirits saw him they would fall down before him and shout, “ You are the Son of God.” because Jesus is here to save us. He is here to protect us. We all may not believe in Him but soon you will open your eyes and see that He is real. Listen to what your heart is telling you instead of listening to what other people are saying.
I think the scripture is saying that, we do not know who someone really is until the word gets out. Rumors can start very easily and that is what happened to Jesus. His rumors were true, he could cure people and make unclean spirits leave so many people desired to be near Him. That is why Jesus had the disciples get a boat ready so He wasn’t overwhelmed.
It is saying that Jesus will heal you if you ask Him too. He is here for us no matter how hard it is and all He wants out of us is to stay with Him and come to mass.
A lot of times I feel like God will not be able to help me with small things. That makes no sense though because demons were driven out at the site of Jesus. Jesus wants us to ask him for help because he knows he can help us. Jesus wants us to ask him for help so much that he has to get in a boat to have room. Jesus wants us to flood him with questions because that means we trust in Him. Trust in God because he is the only thing that will never fail.
This is what bothers me. The UNCLEAN SPIRITS say, “You are the Son of God.” And what do we do? “Oh, cool. God. Yay. Oh, wait! HELP ME. NOW. No answer? Well, you don’t hear me then. Bye.” See a difference? The unclean spirits sometimes recognize more than we do, the power of Jesus. “You are the Son of God.” What good does that do us if all we do is reject that message? It’s not very useful if we don’t do anything about it. So what CAN we do? DO something about it. Don’t just let it be there, but let it actually HELP you. Let it guide you. Let God help you. We are constantly asking for his help. So, take his message: “I am the Son of God” to heart. Do something about it, and see what it does for you.
“whenever unclean spirits saw him they would fall down before him and shout, ‘You are the Son of God!'” this shows how much people believed, and still believe today, in the power of our lord Jesus Christ.
I think God is trying to tell me to be patient. He was going to be crushed by the crowds so he had to be prepared with a boat. Why do we rush so fast to Him when we should be patient and wait for our turn? It is our human nature to get things done as quick as possible when we could just wait when He will eventually help us. He has the entire Earth waiting for Him so He would probably be happy if we were patient.
“He had cured many and, as a result, those who had diseases
were pressing upon him to touch him.”
We all must see that Jesus is the only one who can heal us and there would be people filling up the mass everywhere if they realized.
Jesus will always come and save you even at your worst times. He will never give up on you no matter what. He loves you so much and nothing you can do can stop that. He will always be with you.
The problem is when a person obsesses over it, work too many hours and leave their families behind, miss Mass for weekend sports tournaments, and have to go into extreme debt to keep up a fake life of wealth to keep up their status. Jesus should be first in our lives not second or third just first. We should think of it this way he died because of us.
“He warned them sternly not to make him known.” I thought that this was interesting because he didn’t want them to tell anybody but they told everybody. It is like how we need to tell everybody about Jesus but he doesn’t make us.
I think it was saying that God has a plan and we need to trust it. God has our whole life planned out but if we don’t follow him we will fall. God wants us to follow him and spread the word, we need to trust in God.
He doesn’t have our life planned out, but wants us to follow His Will and build our life with Him that will lead us back to Him!
whenever unclean spirits saw him they would fall down before him and shout, “You are the Son of God.” This shows that the Holy Spirit works through us in order for us to recognize Jesus. God is always present, sometimes we just need to open our eyes to his mercy.
If you think about what’s going on in this world one question comes to mind. What do people want? A lot of those answers would be fame, power, riches, or other earthly things. What we should all want is to get to heaven one day. Jesus had to teach on a BOAT because there were so many people trying to see Him. We should be that excited to see our Lord and Savior.
a boat ready for him because of the crowd, so that they would not crush him. There were so many people wanting to see Jesus that he was scared of being crushed by the crowd. We need to love Jesus so much that we would have been in that crowd wanting to see him.
Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
Why i like this part of the whole reading is because we need to submit our will to God because in the end we meet him at. Calvary
we must do his will so that we can be with him forever in heaven.
We love to control God, to make Him into a slot machine. But we can not alow that to happen! God has a plan, and we need to accept that He knows EVERYTHING and we know next to nothing. He understands us, others, and our relationships better than anyone else. He knows what to do, when to do it, and the consequences. TRUST HIM!
The “Ask and ye shall receive” saying kept on coming into my head whenever I was reading this because He will heal you no matter what if you’re sorry or ask from the heart. Jesus did not care what anyone thought about Him while He was healing the person all He thought about was healing this person. That just goes to show that in confession all you have to do is ask for forgiveness the you shall receive forgiveness.
A part that stuck out to me was “It does not matter how much we accomplish, but how much we love.” I think this means we could be the best soccer player in the world or the fastest or anything that makes us happy that we accomplish but that dosent mean that we will have a good heart and praise the Lord. Its not about what we accomplish its what we pushed to the side to accomplish it. We have to remember that God is always here for us so we must be here to praise him.
Today the gospel says to me that Everyone who is sick or ill is going to Jesus to get healed. This is not the only reason people want Jesus. in this world most people want power and to be popular and Jesus has that power but when we learn to not want or need that power we will truly love and accept God as the one above all else and learn how to truly worship him and enter the kingdom of heaven.
If you want to be the happiest possible then you have to be Holy.Jesus came down to earth and then died for our sins so we could go to heaven and be happy.
Jesus came to the earth as an infant, completely vulnerable to anything. He did this to demonstrate that He will stop at nothing to help us go to Heaven. If He did this for us, we should be able to spend time with Him.
What stuck out to me was the question:Why do we desire Jesus because it shows us that we need to understand the reasons why we desire him. I think this means to pay more attention to God than other things.
We can’t allow power to get in the way of God. If we do we can lose our faith. I think this is what some people would want. Power can’t give us true happiness, ONLY GOD can give us true happiness.
We need Jesus just like the Jews needed Him. Why? 1. He heals us both physically and spiritually. 2. He frees us from sin. 3. We can rely on Him and He will listen to our prayers. We can’t just use Him as a slot machine to get everything we want. If we want to get to heaven, we need to answer Jesus’ call and not treat Him like a slot machine.
God’s love is crazy! As we sin we are full of disease, it is a disease. Today we see disease on the outside but God knows we have it on the inside. He could leave the lepers for dead, leave the blind eyes closed, leave the deaf ears unable to hear but he doesn’t. Even with all our sin and hoe many times we have broken his covenant his mercy never fails and doesn’t stop until we are healed and with him. Even to the last second of our lives. Many people ask why and I have one answer. He’s crazy but he’s crazy in love with us. He just wants acceptance, true acceptance of him and all that he is. It will be like that till the end of time.

Jesus wants to help us but we have to reach out to him and devote ourselves to want to be with him A part that stuck out to me is And whenever unclean spirits saw him they would fall down before him
and shout, “You are the Son of God.”
Even the devil bows down to God. God is more powerful than anything else
“Those who had diseases were pressing upon him to touch him.” The people in today’s passage we learn that people only want Jesus to be healed. It is okay to want Jesus but, at some point we should recognize all that He does so we can thank Him. He died for us and keeps on giving so the least we could do is talk to HIm and thank Him.
So many people love and want to be with Jesus, Why?? He heals people from the outside and inside and he cures and helps mentally and physically. We all need to realize this. Jesus isn’t supposed to be in a little part of your life hes meant to be in your whole life and when we pray and listen to him we strengthen our relationships with him
God wants us to find him and not use him to get what you want. You will not get ehat you want everytime you pray for it. God will give it to you if its the best thing and we have to remeber that and not use him.
