“AMEN, AMEN, I SAY TO YOU, YOU WILL SEE HEAVEN OPENED AND THE ANGELS OF GOD ASCENDING AND DESCENDING ON THE SON OF MAN.” JN 1:43-51

Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.

Jesus decided to go to Galilee, and he found Philip.
And Jesus said to him, “Follow me.”
Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the town of Andrew and Peter.
Philip found Nathanael and told him,
“We have found the one about whom Moses wrote in the law,
and also the prophets, Jesus, son of Joseph, from Nazareth.”
But Nathanael said to him,
“Can anything good come from Nazareth?”
Philip said to him, “Come and see.”
Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him and said of him,
“Here is a true child of Israel.
There is no duplicity in him.”
Nathanael said to him, “How do you know me?”
Jesus answered and said to him,
“Before Philip called you, I saw you under the fig tree.”
Nathanael answered him,
“Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel.”
Jesus answered and said to him,
“Do you believe
because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree?
You will see greater things than this.”
And he said to him, “Amen, amen, I say to you,
you will see heaven opened
and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.” JN 1:43-51

Do angels exist? Jesus said they will be ascending and descending on the Son of Man. At Mass, when heaven and earth clash we join the angels to praise and glorify God during the Sanctus (Holy, Holy, Holy). Yes, they do exist and we each have our own guardian angel. The angel of God prayer is not just for young children to pray but adults too. We are fighting Satan a fallen angel who is very intelligent and deceitful.

A person must know the enemy like an opponent in sports, how to beat him, and know where he is at. He is constantly in our thoughts trying to persuade us from God. When a person thinks God is trying to take away their fun, it’s the devil. When a person puts themselves down or criticizes others, it is the devil in their thoughts. Whenever we rationalize our sin and don’t think it is that bad, it is the devil in our thoughts. When a person thinks God or the Mass is boring, it is the devil in their head. Don’t allow the power of the cross to die in your mind. Battle Satan with the St. Michael prayer, God’s grace in the sacraments, constant prayer, and continually talk to Jesus and allow Him to love you. A person must do these things daily to win the battle versus Satan.

Today’s challenge: Start reflecting on times when your thoughts have been against God. Next time it happens be ready to say the St. Michael prayer. Continue to say the Angel of God and ask the angels in heaven to protect you from Satan. Ask Mary to wrap you in her mantle each day to keep Satan away from you and your family. Ask St. Joseph to wrap you in his cloak and protect you and your family from Satan. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you. Storm heaven, the Devil is relentless!

Be a servant, become a saint!
