Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary.
Jesus said to the Pharisees:
“There was a rich man who dressed in purple garments and fine linen and dined sumptuously each day.
And lying at his door was a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores, who would gladly have eaten his fill of the scraps that fell from the rich man’s table.
Dogs even used to come and lick his sores.
When the poor man died,
he was carried away by angels to the bosom of Abraham.
The rich man also died and was buried,
and from the netherworld, where he was in torment,
he raised his eyes and saw Abraham far off
and Lazarus at his side.
And he cried out, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me.
Send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am suffering torment in these flames.’
Abraham replied, ‘My child,
remember that you received what was good during your lifetime while Lazarus likewise received what was bad;
but now he is comforted here, whereas you are tormented.
Moreover, between us and you a great chasm is established
to prevent anyone from crossing
who might wish to go from our side to yours
or from your side to ours.’
He said, ‘Then I beg you, father, send him
to my father’s house,
for I have five brothers, so that he may warn them,
lest they too come to this place of torment.’
But Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the prophets.
Let them listen to them.’
He said, ‘Oh no, father Abraham,
but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’
Then Abraham said,
‘If they will not listen to Moses and the prophets,
neither will they be persuaded
if someone should rise from the dead.’” LK 16:19-31
Jesus teaches us today what happens if we don’t bring the Gospel to people. We have one shot to get this right (#Christian YOLO). We are living in the end times, the times after Jesus’ resurrection. “If they will not listen to Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded if someone should rise from the dead.” We have the Word of God in the Bible, God’s breath, to teach us how to gain salvation (God’s will for us: He has one great desire, that you and I are with Him in heaven, our salvation-Pope Francis) and lead others to Christ. We have the Holy Spirit to guide us and lead us to virtue.
Today’s Gospel teaches us there are no second chances when it comes to eternal life. The time we have here is a gift. Since Jesus rose from the dead, this life is not the final horizon. We are made for a spiritual homeland. It is time to start rearranging our priorities and live putting our full trust in God. Today is a great time to rearrange priorities and dust away the cobwebs of a hardened heart. It is a time to love our soul more than our body. We cannot take THINGS, power, money, pleasure or honor (4 things we must despise that we think will make us happy-St. Thomas Aquinas). All we can take is the times we were unselfish and put others before self, the times we loved as Jesus loves us.
Today’s challenge: Live like today is your last day on earth. What would you do differently? What legacy do you want to leave behind. Most regrets on death beds are not loving as much as they should have; love of spouse, love of parents, love of children, or spending more time with God and family. Put down your electronics and spend time loving God and family. There are no second chances after we die. We don’t know the day or the hour the Master will return. We don’t know when God is going to call our number. Most importantly, He just wants to be your best friend!
Be a servant, become a saint!
#Christian YOLO
I can apply this to my daily life be realizing what I have and being thankful for what I have. Also I can help out more by volunteering at the food bank or the lord’s diner.
In this scripture Jesus tells us that we only have one shot to get to heaven and if we miss, well we might just spend eternity in Flames
What i got from today’s scripture reading is that God is always there to answer your prayers, it is whether you believe or not that it will come true what you have asked for.
We have to go to the gospel because the gospel doesn’t come to us. We have to live everyday like it’s our last day and that to help people grow closer to God.
I can apply this to my life by remembering that everything I do God will see. All the good I do and all the bad I do all determines my relationship and how close I am to God.
I can apply this to my life by fasting and giving stuff to the poor, I can also pray for the homeless that they may find food and shelter, and pray that they live their life in peace.
Our belongings will not come with us when we die, so we should not put them before God. Jesus is trying to tell us that in order to get to Heaven we can’t be selfish and let others suffer, we have to help others. If we don’t spread the gospel we wont be fulfilled.
In today’s scripture it talks about a poor man and a rich man. What I can take away from this reading is that Jesus just wants to be you friend. This reading is kinda confusing to understand . Although it may be difficult to understand, I think that what it is saying is to repent and believe in the gospel and you will be saved.
No matter if people are poor or rich you still have to respect and love one another, because the golden rule is to treat someone how you want to be treated. God still loves us if we are poor and wealthy. God wants us all to be treated with respect. Doesn’t mean you can judge a person by it’s looks, house, and money because you don’t what there dealing with through life.
I can apply this to my life by helping others find their way to the Gospel and God. We have to know that we only have on chance and can not take worldly things with us like St. Thomas Aquinas said. We either choose God who lets us live in eternal life or we choose death.
I can reflect on this by being as holy as I possibly can when I’m still on Earth.
In this scripture, the rich man judged Lazarus which separated him from God and put him in hell. In this world we live in today, we judge everybody we see out in public or anywhere, which is separating us from God. If we keep judging we will end up in hell like the rich man.
If we live our lives praying and being “holy” out in public looking for rewards and praise, we will be barried and will not know the true love of God. But if we pray and worship Jesus in the solitude of our houses or rooms, we will be carried away by angels and we will have a greater reward in heaven.
We need to remember that people are in need and we are privileged. If we want to get to Heaven we need to help others and live others if we are selfish or careless than we will suffer. Others sacrifice so much and go through so much as we sit in complete comfort. They need help and we need to help them.
Jesus has yet another example in which I and St. Paul back up. The rich (with money) man was being all, “Ooooo, look at me I’m rich and fancy!” and the other rich (with love) man was there to lick the scraps of food on the floor like a dog. Back then, dogs were though of as unclean, so I’m guessing that the rich man thought he had to be physically clean in order to get to heaven, but Lazarus knew that to get to heaven you had to be spiritually clean. St Paul says, “Money is the most evil thing in the world”, and that is true, but he also says, “love is the most important virtue”. So down the rich man goes and up the other rich man goes. The rich-in-money man does not know when the time to convert is so he picks the time when he burning to the ground to do it. “Nope!” God says, “you got what was good in life, and you never shared with Lazarus. Did you even see what he was like?” Rich-in-money man says back, “Please warn my siblings!” God says, “They are too much in love with there money that they wouldn’t even recognize if Moses rose from the dead.”
ok
We need to be the Lazarus’. He lived in poverty to go to Heaven. He gave up his life for Heaven. We need to give ourselves for friends to go to Heaven.
If you have enough than share it. we will be in pain and in hell if we notice that there are people struggling and we don’t help.
I can apply this to my life by giving up myself for Jesus and not getting to attached to worldly possessions
I can remember that the world doesn’t revolve around me, so i should give to the needy and not be selfish
Just because you have everything doesn’t mean you can’t still give some of it away. With everything that we have we need to give it to someone who really needs it and is suffering. We need to go out of our way and help someone in need.
I can apply this to my life by remembering God see’s everything i do, and to treat people with respect.
I can apply this to my life by knowing that Christ knows what I am doing and is watching my every move. He wants me to help the poor and understand Him. I can be more selfless and give my time to help those in need.
This piece of Scripture shows us that if we give ourselves away in this life, we will receive eternal comfort and glory in Heaven. If we are greedy like the rich man, we will likewise get torment in Hell for the rest of eternity. If we give of ourselves and do not complain, we will likewise receive eternal comfort in Heaven.
Jesus has given us everything we need to get to heaven. It’s up to us whether we will choose Jesus, the eternal happiness, or worldly possessions, a temporary happiness.
This scripture passage tells me that we should all be grateful for what we have and help other turn to Christ while we can. Many people have it worse us and would gladly have a tiny sliver of what we have and be sooo grateful for it. And if we have any rough patches in our lives, offer them up to Christ.
Today’s writing says that “Then I beg you, father, send him to my father’s house, for I have five brothers, so that he may warn them, lest they too come to this place of torment.’ To me this means that when we suffer we should warn and teach our brothers and sisters to not follow the same path that we took, so that they can have an eternal life in Heaven.
We all need to remember that we can not take anything into the life after this. Everything that we have have that is leading us away from God throw it away or ask your parents to give it to Goodwill. It will be better if we are in Heaven for eternity then to play with that thing for 1 or 2 years on Earth.
i can apply this to my life by knowing that everything i do God sees, and realizing what i have and being thankful for what i have
Can not take power ,money, or honor but we can earn them. We need to treat people how we would treat ourselves. We need to feed the hungry give money to the poor do everything we can to help. God created us to help others and to love. Not to shame others so we help who have shamed and hope they stop.
I can apply this to my life by knowing that when there is something bad going on in my life I will be thankful for that while in heaven because all of that pain is what makes you a better catholic.
In today’s scripture, we are being told that our life on earth is a gift. What we do on earth determines our final resting place. We always seem to rely on God. if we are doing something wrong we think He will send us a sign like the rich man wanted to give to his siblings. We should depend on God but also remember that we are the ones making the decision to choose right or wrong. We may have lived a great life, but was it a happy and spiritually fulfilled life.
“The good life” isn’t always the right way, sometimes it can ruin your life, but for some it can help, like a rich man giving to the poor. “The bad life” can help sometimes aswell but still can hurt others, like a poor man spending all his money on alcohall or drugs. But others might see what they are missing reach for a goal andmake making no longer poor. That might also help them to see God.
I can apply this scripture to my life by knowing that other people in this world aren’t as lucky as we are so we need to remember that we have to do what is right because even though you think nobody is watching you, God always knows what you do.
We need to remember that there are others that don’t have the same things as us. We need to put others before ourselves. Make sure others are helped.
I can apply this to my life because we are all so privileged and we don’t relize that others are suffering and don’t have as much as us so we have to give to those who don’t have as much as us.
In this passage Jesus is basically saying that if we are privileged more than the poor or are just straight up privileged we needed to help the poor so that they can be privileged like us so hat they don’t have to be in pain anymore and that we have the accomplishment of helping someone in need. And on top of that We are still privileged and they are more privileged.
Today the reading is about Lazarus and the rich man. The rich man wouldn’t give the poor man any food or shelter so he was tormented in hell where as the poor man was comforted in heaven. This teaches me to help other instead of being selfish so i can thrive in heaven instead of burn in hell.
What I think God is trying to tell me is that hell is a real place where people can go. We aren’t like the protestants who believe that everyone will make it to heaven if they JUST believe, no. You must believe in God and also through your works will you go to Heaven. We all must be repentful during this time of lent and continue to strive for holiness as Easter approaches.
What I think God is trying to tell me is that hell is a real place where people can go. We aren’t like the protestants who believe that everyone will make it to heaven if they JUST believe, no. You must believe in God and also through your works will you go to Heaven. We all must be repentful during this time of lent and continue to strive for holiness as Easter approaches..
Today Jesus is telling us we need to be missionaries. He is saying that we need to tell people the word of God because if we don’t tell them then who will. They need to know that Jesus died for our sins and saved us.
I can apply this to my life by being kind to everyone I meet anytime. Jesus put me on this Earth so I could do good in the world and that is what I’m going to do today.
we need to focus on the world around us and think about what may happen in the future and if we will make it to Heaven.
This teaches us the great importance of the Bible, the Gospel specifically. Jesus did rise from the dead. He came back and converted many, that had quite an impact on humanity now. Aberham wasn’t literal in saying if they didn’t come for him they would come for no one. Because they would, if you see someone dead come back to life, and tell you to repent. You’ll do it, no matter what you’ll take their wishes and make them come true. That is why Catholicism has this great connection with Jesus. Through the apostles writings we get to see what greatness Jesus was, and is. To circumvent this is what the Jews did await the already begotten Messiah. To put in to short terms, READ THE GOSPEL, AND THE ACTS OF THE APOSTLES. IT WILL BRING YOU IN A CLOSE RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD. WHICH IS OUR FINAL GOAL.
What I think the scripture said today is, we are privileged and some people aren’t. Yes, we aren’t perfect, but we have a lot more than others do in the world. We need to start being grateful for what we have and also start helping out others whenever we can.
We have to realize that living virtuously is more important than living with many material possessions. We cannot take our material possessions with us to heaven, and if we adore our materials too much, we might not even make it to heaven. If we live with virtues, we are guaranteed to make it to heaven and our life on earth will be much happier.
Jesus tells us today a story about a wealthy selfish man, who died. He also tells us of a starving homeless man who died. The wealthy guy ends up going to hell b/c he did not treat his brothers and sisters/neighbors with equality. He didn’t even offer the homeless man a rotten berry. Meanwhile, since the homeless man with nothing was good on earth, he gets to be in peace for the rest of eternity
Your belongings, or your social status, or even you financial state doesn’t matter to Jesus on Earth. He looks at our hearts, not the clothing or jewelry we put on. Our heart and our faith will get us to heaven, we can’t just buy our way in. We must give what we can to those in need, and not be greedy to keep it to ourselves.
We don’t get any second chances once we die. So we must spread the gospel to everyone and not get carried away with material things when we have God.
I can apply this to my life by realizing }I only have one chance to get to heaven. I need to try my best and listen to him. I need to allow his to guide me.
In today’s Scripture we are being told to be kind to others and to not be greedy, we shouldn’t be rude to others but help them instead.
This passage is simple. We should always help others whenever we can and we should always humble ourselves. By the time us humans realize how to love and put others before self, it will be too late and there won’t be anything we can do about it. We will end up like the rich man. We may live a life of “That’s not my problem I’m not going to worry about it” now, but when the time comes we will receive our judgement and we won’t be able to save ourselves. Those who become like Lazarus will be rewarded in heaven.
I can apply this to my day to day life by knowing that God has a plan for me and that I can read things to become closer to him
I know that when i die that I can’t bring my favorite things to heaven. even though i shouldn’t be attached to my belongings and should think more about god.
The rich man was a jerk in life so now he has to pay for it, but he wants to wan his friends not to act like him or they’ll be punished to. God says no if they really deserve to stay out of hell then let them choose to be better people of their own accord. The problem with our society is no one ever cares until they know it could hurt them, if we really cared we wouldn’t do stuff that we know could come back and nip us in the butt later. we need to show we care and we can get into heaven. All we need to do is try but we won’t even try trying. its pathetic.
In the scripture today Jesus is telling us, if we love God then we don’t need to worry about material things. God doesn’t want us to worry about it because we will not have them forever and you can’t bring them to heaven with you. We need to sacrifice our things so others that need them can have them.
We should treat everyone with respect whether we like them or not. God knows our intentions and we should not be evil and rude. Treat everyone with kindness.
We need to help others that need our help instead of acting like we are better than them and that they are entitled to do what ever we want them to do.
We must actually pray and read the scriptures if we are to go to Heaven. We can’t just say we are Christian and get into Heaven. Work is required to get to Heaven.
Jesus is telling us today that those who have the least in this life shall have the best in heaven, and those who have the best in this life and do not share it will have the worst of death in hell. It is not a sin to have many possessions, or to be wealthy. It only becomes a sin if you do not share your wealth with poor, and keep the best of it for yourself. This is Jesus’ warnings to us today.
We have been given many signs which tell us that our salvation is in Jesus. It’s important to believe in this and then share the Word. It’s important to not go to hell because you cannot get out nor receive help from anyone in heaven. If you go to heaven, you will be there forever and will never have to worry about hell because you won’t be able to go there anymore.
This tells me to be rich in spirit but not in money. This also tells me what heaven and hell look like and that there is a big chasm between the like there is a big chasm between good and evil.
Jesus is teaching us today to love one another. He wants us to be compassionate towards each other. We only have one life to live, so we have to make sure we live it to the best of our abilities. In caring for others, we can become more joyful because we feel like we’re helping someone.
We are given a lot and need to realize how much we are given throughout life and how blessed we are. There are people out there with nothing and we need to help them. Jesus gives us what we need and now we need to share that to the people without much. We need to follow in Jesus footsteps to get to heaven and give to others and treat others with respect. We cannot judge others but just be nice to them and give to them because they don’t have the type of stuff we have.
Being wealthy doesn’t make you automatically go to hell, its what you do with your riches that causes you to. The rich man never gave any of it away, instead he used it for himself. Lazarus lived without money, and suffered, so he went to heaven. Lazarus had nothing to give, but (I believe) would have given what he had away to someone else worse off than him. The rich man died with everything, but gave nothing away to help those in worse positions than him. Its not our possessing money, its what we do with it that makes the difference.
We often push God aside and put things of less importance in front of him. Sometimes we do so without even realizing it. We need to understand that what we decide to do is in our hearts. Every single big or small decision we make is either making us grow towards or apart from Heaven. This is our one chance to be one with God in Heaven. We cant continue to push him away, we have to completely give ourselves to him. He is the source of our happiness, not anything else.
What I got from this scripture is that we should be careful of what we do. We should always be kind to others for soon others will always be kind to us. What we do on Earth will reflect what will happen to us after Earth.
I think this is saying that nothing can come between us and God. Nothing we ever do will make God stop loving us. We have to recognize our own sins and make sure God knows we are truly sorry in order to get a better relationship with Him.
In this scripture it talks about how the rich man went to hell and the poor man was taken up by angels. This just proves that we don’t need money to have a “good life”. What we truly want in our lives is to go to heaven and be happy with God. We are always talking to our parents about this new thing or that new thing when we could be using the money to help those who really need it or for the essentials we need in our lives.
I can apply this to my life by helping others find their purpose in life with the Gospel and the word of God. St. Thomas Aquinas said we only have one life. We choose what we do with that one life. If we choose to do good we will make it to Heaven but if we choose bad and the way of the devil you will die. You only have one life YOU choose what YOU do with it.
The rich man only cared about himself. He didn’t care about the poor man outside of his door. If we live our life on earth wrong, we will not make it to heaven. Earth is our one shot to make it to heaven and we have to live well.
It doesn’t matter whether or not we are rich or poor. You only have one chance to get in heaven, but your status won’t get you into heaven, or give you a second change/advantage. You must take that chance and ask God for help to get into heaven. You’re “status” isn’t important in the end.
Your “status” isn’t important in the end. **
In this scripture Jesus tells us that we only have one chance in eternal life. There are no second chances, it is your decisions and actions that affect where you end up. You can’t slack off in your prayers and expect that your fake Catholic life to let you into Heaven. You have to live for Jesus and not for the devil.
Jesus reminds us that though this life is temporary, it is important to live it well. There will not be second chances in eternal life. We must not be presumptuous.
This is powerful scripture today. There is the poor man who is in constant torment and the rich man who is living in constant luxury. We are all like the rich man. The poor man is someone who needs help. In the Gospel today, the rich man ignores the poor man, and since he did so without repentance, when he died he was tormented in the fires of hell. While the poor man who suffered during his life goes to heaven. We have a choice to help the poor man, or to leave him in his torment. We can choose to not bother because we are comfy, and helping him will bring us out of our comfort, or we can bring just a little bit of trouble into our lives by helping the poor man. This Lent I am going to try to always choose to help the poor man.
In this Scripture I learned that worldly things don’t matter as much as our love for God, others, and ourselves. If we are selfish about what we have physically, we will never learn how to be caring, kind, loving, etc. God wants us to go to Heaven, so we shouldn’t care about the things we have but instead love from the heart.
The scripture in today’s Gospel tells that we need to be detatched from our own belongings(objects). We need to put God first in our daily lives and know that he is the person above all else and he will judge weather we go to heaven or not unless we have Apostolic Pardon which relieves you from all sins. Anyway we still need to do our in every way we can to help one another and love one each other as if we were loving God. We need to treat other how we want to be treated by God and everyone else.
Today’s Gospel is telling now is the time to be kind to others. If we want to go to Heaven we must show God’s love to others now, here, on this Earth before we die. Not after we die.
We need to believe in God. If we don’t have faith and never care for others we will die and burn in hell. If we repent and care for others then we will be rewarded in Heaven and live with God. It’s not all about me and my needs it’s more about others. We can’t just believe by others but by faith.
Today we are learning the consequences of us not teaching the gospel to others. Not letting one another knnow the ways that God has taught us, should lead us to have a feeling of being flabergasted. Some people right now are in a part of their life where they feel far away from God,an by teaching the gospel, We hope to bring others towards Him.
This tells us to give what we have to poor people or people that need those things. We need to be grateful for all of the gifts that God has given to us and share them with others. If we do this and what God tells us to do then we will go to Heaven.
On Earth we must do the right thing or we will pay the price in our after life. We are like the rich man, we don’t pay attention to the ones who need it because we are focused on our possessions. We don’t think how much we can give and we say that we don’t have enough. We need to give what we have so we can spend an eternal life with God.
Today’s gospel is telling us what will happen if we don’t share Jesus’ teachings with the world. We only have one chance to get into heaven so we need to change our lives and make God the priority in our lives. Remember we need Him, He doesn’t need us.
This gospel is teaching me that we need to go to God if we need help and we need to read the bible and not be lazy.
I think Jesus is telling me that you should be grateful for what you have on this Earth. If you have extra wants and material goods you should give them away. You should also live a good life because this life does not matter how much money you have or how much material goods you have. We also need to give to the poor and help them so we don’t become the rich man. The rich man thought that he didn’t need Jesus he thought he had enough on this Earth. Lazarus barely had anything.
We can’t judge people for what they look like because it’s on the inside for what matters. Everyone needs to be treated equally and fair for what they do or have done not because of what they look like
God is saying we need to remember where we came from. We can’t get a big head for having stuff that other people don’t have or can’t make fun of people who are less fortunate. God wants us to be humble and be kind to other people
This means that if we have a lot of things, God still doesn’t care and even if we don’t have a lot of things, He will love us.
In today’s Gospel Abraham will not send Lazarus to the rich man’s brothers. I think that it is fair to not send someone to warn us of what God has already revealed. I think that when something is shown to you that will show you beyond doubt that something is indeed real, it cheapens it when you believe. It’s important we come the conclusion of God ourselves.
What I am getting from this is that we can not take everyday things for granted and to be happy
I shouldn’t take things for granted, and I need to realize that I’m blessed to have the life that I have. I have a great life compared to others, and I need to start being more humble. Or at least start being a better person.
God is telling us to trust him because if we trust we will all have happiness and that way we will all go to haven.
We need to spend our time on earth doing God’s will. Helping others and sharing our gifts with others is what God wants. Whatever we do to others we do to God. I’m going to spend more time helping others than focusing on myself.
I can apply this to my life by realizing that we only have one go at life, so we have to live it well, not comfortably.
I can apply this ti my life by respecting everyone and remember that Jesus is always watching me
I can apply this to my life by giving all that I have to God. The rich man didn’t do this and ended up having to pay the price in the end.
I think today’s scripture is trying to tell me that how I treat people on Earth is how I will be treated after I die. If I am to treat someone poorly on Earth, than I will be treated worse in Hell, however those who are treated badly will receive a place in Heaven. I believe it is also trying to tell me that we don’t need something like a miracle to start believing in Jesus. We have the scripture and prophets to guide us. We should always have faith rather than waiting for something to happen.
In this Gospel, we are told what the afterlife is like. In his analogy, Jesus says that the rich man who had everything in life went to hell, yet the poor man who had nothing went to Heaven. I think that this is really similar to what Jesus says in the Beatitudes. Blessed are the poor in spirit. Blessed are those who mourn. Blessed are those who are merciful. The list goes on, but it’s those people, who refuse all of the good things in life to be holy, who are like Lazarus. It’s those people who get to Heaven. Jesus also explains that we only have one shot to get to Heaven. We can’t lie around thinking that you’ll be holier when you’re older, because you never know when you’re end is coming. You may be the rich man at that time, or you can be the poor man all the time, and never have to worry about it. But we only have one chance. YOLO. You only live once. But if you do it right, once is enough.
This scripture teaches me to give my all the God. He wants me to follow him and do what he would do. Like feed the poor, be more kind, more selfless, and to obey my elders. This is all God is asking us to do for him, he wants us to be in Heaven with him!
in this scripture its saying that here one earth we get our shot to heaven. we only get one shot though and it can be difficult. if we miss this shot we might even end up in hell for eternity.
I can apply this scripture to my life today by remembering not to get too attached to worldly things. We have to remember that we cannot take money, electronics, food, clothes and other things to heaven with us so we can’t spend too much time with them on earth, because the more time we spend being selfish and not making time holy, then our reward after life will be small. If we spend as much time as we can not being super attached to objects or fun and we try to make every minute of our lives holy, then our reward will be great in heaven.
This is teaching us that if we live a life of suffering on earth we will have a great eternal life in Heaven, ut if we are only greedy and selfish, we will have given ourselves the eternal suffering and punishment for simply not getting off of our games or couch and deciding to help. But as humans we think this life if our only and to live it the way they want but then they die and find themselves in eternal punishment. All we have to do is 1 small thing and it will become a habit and your ticket to Heaven.
In the scripture today, I learned that there is no second chances after our earthly life. So, we have to do the best we can and be the holiest person we can be while we have the chance. If we are good, virtuous people, we will get to spend eternity with the Father. If we are wicked, we will deservingly spend the rest of eternity in hell.
In today’s scriptures we are told that we need to go out and spread the Gospel. God gave us life and the whole book of the Bible is about God’s journey and life. He died on the cross four sins. Easter is coming up and we need to remember God should be the center of our life. He is truly special and we need to love him and make him be the center of us. He truly loves us so we should truly love him back.
Today’s Gospel is telling me to help the poor. We already have so much, so we are like the rich man refusing to help the poor man when we also reject the poor. We also need to give up our worldly objects that we are so attached to, and follow Jesus Christ.
The gospel is telling us that we need to serve others if we want to be served, help others if we want to be helped and love others as we want to be loved for Jesus says “Treat your neighbor as yourself” he means get out of your comfort zone and then you will get to heaven.
I can apply this to my life by not putting material things before God in my life. Material things don’t come with us when we die so we shouldn’t hold them above God and other people. Others might not see the small good deeds that we do, but God does and he will reward us.
We must live our lives with love for God and others and not for possessions. We don’t know if this day could be our last so we must try to be as holy as we can now and when we aren’t repent right away because once we die there isn’t really any coming back to fix our mistakes.
In today’s scripture it is telling us that we need to live our lives like it is our last day on earth. We need to be kind to each other and we need to show others now that we can.
This scripture reminds me that we need to be thankful and work for what we get especially catholic school because many people don’t get the things or opportunities we do in our daily life. Sometimes we think less of people because of how they look or what they have but God is the most important person we need to follow.
In today’s gospel, Jesus explains to us that we must live our lives to our heavenly father and individually become His disciples, who are determined to help others ascend into heaven. Whether this is those we don’t know well, or complete strangers, we must help others who are unable, or lack the faith to become nearer to God in a relationship. Earth is not our final boundary that we are standing presently in.
