Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
Jesus said to the crowds:
“No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draw him,
and I will raise him on the last day.
It is written in the prophets:
They shall all be taught by God.
Everyone who listens to my Father and learns from him comes to me.
Not that anyone has seen the Father
except the one who is from God;
he has seen the Father.
Amen, amen, I say to you,
whoever believes has eternal life.
I am the bread of life.
Your ancestors ate the manna in the desert, but they died;
this is the bread that comes down from heaven
so that one may eat it and not die.
I am the living bread that came down from heaven;
whoever eats this bread will live forever;
and the bread that I will give
is my Flesh for the life of the world.” JN 6:44-51
“I am the bread of life. Your ancestors ate manna in the desert, but they died; this is the bread that comes down from heaven so that one may eat it and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread I will give is my Flesh for the life of the world.” Jn 6:44-51
God is found in communion. God is joy and we are a result of Him overflowing with joy. We are a result of love. Adam and Eve broke this joy by not trusting, so God set out to reconcile Himself with His creation. He does this through a sacrificial meal. The Old Testament sacrificial meal comes to us at Passover. God instructed Moses and the people to eat bitter herbs (to remind them of their bitter slavery) and unleavened bread (they were in a hurry to get away so they did not have time to let the bread rise), and a roasted lamb (daubed the blood on the doorposts so the angel of death would pass over their homes). God later feeds them with manna in the desert.
The new sacrificial meal or new Passover is Jesus Christ. Isaiah prophesies that “He will be like a sheep led to slaughter.” Today, Jesus teaches us He is the bread of life and we must eat His Flesh to have eternal life. Jesus has made a host for us everyday. Go to Mass as often as possible and be in full communion with God. This is the way God has chosen to give Himself to us from the Last Supper until He returns. Most importantly, as Bishop Robert Barron puts it, “Jesus just wants to be our friend. He wants to set around the supper table and have a great conversation.” The supper table is the altar, God calls all of us together to it each Sunday, and Jesus feeds our souls for the journey. Thank you, Jesus!
Today’s challenge: Allow Jesus to be your friend! Talk to Him every day about everything. There is nothing more that He wants than to be your best friend. How do you develop a friendship? Spend time with them. Find a place to make a habit of spending time talking to Jesus and learning about Him in the Scriptures. Read one of the 4 Gospels all of the way through. It will only take a few minutes each day of your time and it might be the biggest conversion experience you will ever have.

I can relate this to my life because it reminds me of Father Jared’s homily and tells me that God, even though he looks simple, is almighty and powerful.
He is God and he could be any thing he wanted to be and he choose to be bread, he choose to degrade himself to bread because he loved us so much.
In this scripture Jesus in giving himself for us through communion. He is telling us that if we eat his flesh and drink his blood we will have eternal life. I can apply this scripture to my life by going to mass and praying to Jesus.
Jesus wants us to be able to go to Heaven. He feeds us His body so He his able to get closer to us. He wants to be near us and saving us from sin will make Him even closer to the Him and His father God.
We will always be tested no matter what if you are Catholic. Jesus tells us we need to have faith and believe in him to get through that and to become a better Catholic. He also tells us we need to eat his body and drink his blood for us to be closer to him. I think that if we dont have communion or are not trying to have it then you are failing your faith.
He is God he could have been anything he wanted but he chose to degrade himself to bread because he loved the world so much.
In this gospel, Jesus is showing that if they believe in God then they should follow him. He is also saying that the Eucharist (his flesh and blood) will give us eternal life in heaven.
The Eucharist is not a symbol, it is where God is found. He is the bread of life and without him, there is no eternal life. He gave himself during the last supper so that we could be with him in Heaven.
Jesus says the one of believes, the one of drinks my blood, the one of eats my body, will have eternal life. So all Jesus is asking us is to celebrate the sacrifice he made for us. So as Jesus said and I say now, go out and receive the body, drink the blood, and praise the Lord.
When we take the Eucharist we are taking JESUS CHRIST’ BODY. So obviously that means we will have eternal life. But not on Earth but in Heaven.
He is telling us now that He resurrected, we can have eternal life now because of the Eucharist and sacraments. Am I in the state of grace? Did I pray today? Am I doing my daily tasks? This is the will of God and the Eternal Now is going on at Mass so we can be united to Him on earth until our number is called.
In this reading I think it’s saying how if you come to follow and know God, you will have a spot in the kingdom of heaven for eternal life. What I can take away from this is I can come to trust God and try to become closer to him.
In today’s Gospel Jesus makes it simple he says “I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever, and the bread that I give you is my flesh for the life of the world”. He is so powerful it’s crazy all we have to do is listen to him and what he has planned for us. We need to talk to him everyday and just talk to him. He loves us so much and we need to love him so much back.
I can apply this to my life by trusting in Gods teachings. He knows all right and he teaches us all right. By trusting in God I can grow closer to him and have a better relationship with him.
What I am interpreting from today’s scripture is that Jesus is telling us that He is THE ONE. Jesus is saying that we shouldn’t be believing in false gods or idols. He is the real deal. Like it said in the scripture “Your ancestors ate the manna in the desert, but they died; this is the bread that comes down from heaven so that one may eat it and not die.”. Our ancestors had made the mistake of worshiping false things. We need to remember that the Lord is not false and will always be there.
God is truly present in the Eucharist. That is why mass is so important. If we stopped going through the motions, we would see the miracle happening before our eyes.
I can apply this to my life by believing that Jesus is in the Eucharist. In the Scripture, it says that if you eat the Bread of Life, you will live with Jesus forever. Jesus wants us to receive Him so that we can deepen our relationship with Him. He gives us a chance to go to mass at least once a week and receive him. In the end, Jesus just wants us to be His friend.
Jesus said if we eat his flesh and drink his blood, we will have eternal life in heaven with God.
“Not that anyone has seen the Father except the one who is from God.” I can apply this to my life by believing in God even though I have never seen him.
Jesus is telling us that we need to go through Him to get to the Father. He is, in a sense, implying that He is the gateway to Heaven and the Father. We need to go to Holy Communion at least once a week, as He implies when He says “you must eat My flesh and drink My blood.” And I believe this is the best course of action to get to Heaven.
“No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draw him, and I will raise him on the last day.”, “I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my Flesh for the life of the world.” These two scripture parts have a lot of meaning and they just drew me towards them when i was reading the scripture today, because i know and believe in Jesus that these words that he has spoken and are in the bible are true and with happen to those who are drawn to him.
Communion gives us eternal life in Heaven, and we need to recieve that gift of the Eucharist, and try to live in the state of grace and doing God’s will so that we can get to Heaven and earn eternal life.
The Gospel is saying that Jesus’s words are very very powerful and it doesn’t matter what anyone thinks of you if you are in love with Jesus Christ.
What I got from this scripture was that we need to go through him, because he is the path to heaven and “eat from his flesh” so we can reach heaven. Jesus is completely in the Eucharist so we need to receive the Eucharist weekly to reach Heaven.
God wants us to know that whoever believes in him and eats his body will live forever in union with him and the father in heaven.
The Eucharist is our key to eternal life. It is God, and it is beautiful. We cannot do anything without it. I look forward to the next time I receive Him on my hands, which shouldn’t be too long.
Jesus is telling us at the begining that no one can enter Heaven unless they live a dedicated life towards God and that whoever listens and learns from God will come to him. This is because He is both God and Jesus. He aslo says Whoever believes will have eternal life and I am the bread of Life. Jesus is basically screaming at us the way to get to Heaven, To believe in him and putall of your trust in him so that we may life a wonderful eternal life with him in Heaven.
What I can take a away from this is that If I open my heart to God he will let me in and that whoever listens to God will make it to Heaven. He also says that whoever eats his flesh will have eternal life in Heaven with God.
The Eucharist is very powerful. It is our Lord’s body. I believe that believing is one thing but doing is another. You have to be able to say no and be able to change the ways for yourself. I mean this in both a physical and spiritual way.
I can apply this to my life by trusting in Gods teachings. He says that if you eat his flesh and drink his blood you will have eternal life with him forever. This is important because he is telling us to go to mass so we can get to Heaven. Which is the main goal of this life.
Jesus is the bread of life. Without him dying for our sins we wouldn’t be able to get to Heaven. We have to pray to him everyday and ask the Holy Spirit for guidance.
I can relate this to father Jared’s homily because like he said bread may be simple but every one can get it like they can get Jesus.
In this, Jesus says “I am the bread of life”. If we want to get to heaven, then we need to go through Him. I can apply this scripture passage to my life by believing that God is truly present in the Eucharist.
What I have learned from this scripture passage is that Jesus is trying to get closer to you and have a stronger relationship with you. You just need to put in the effort to try and have a better relationship with him.
The Eucharist is not bread, it’s his flesh. He wants us to be close to him so bad He put his body into bread form.
In this scripture Jesus is full body and blood. He is eternal life. To get closer to him we could go to church and receive the body and blood. The best way to go to heaven is to accept the Eucharist.
He has sacrificed his life for us. God also wants love in return. He gives us his body through the eucharist. With this we will receive eternal life.
In Today’s Gospel, God is telling us he is trying to communicate with us through the sacrament of Holy Communion. God wants more than anything to be close to us, to have a relationship with us, so he gave us his only son so that we could receive him. He’s trying to tell us that the gateway to Heaven is through the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. It’s up to us to see this sign, and receive our Lord in the Eucharist, so we can have a relationship with God and spend eternity with our savior.
What Jesus was telling me is that when we eat his body, it will help us get to Heaven. His body and blood will give us the strength (if we use it) to push through all the bad things in this world and strive for Heaven. I thought that Jesus meant if I ate his body, I didn’t die at all on this Earth! But I later found out that thats not the case, if we follow the commandments, do as God tells us to do, and love our neighbor as ourself, God will give us the graces to make it to Heaven, and when he says “Live Forever”, he means live forever in Heaven with him!
God will provide us with all we need to survive. Look at the world around you, he made this so that we may live. That is the ultimate sign of love.
i think the scripture is telling us that God is the one and only God and that he is life and we shall trust in him o have eternal life in heaven.
Jesus is the way to God, and the way to Jesus is through the Eucharist. At mass we receive the Eucharist but do we accept it. We have to accept Jesus into our lives because he is the way to God and eternal life in heaven.
In today’s scripture Jesus tells us that he has brought down bread from heaven and whoever eats it will have eternal life. This tells us that when we go to Church and receive communion Jesus is in the bread we eat but it isn’t just bread it is Jesus.
The gospel today was great! It made me feel if I ever doubt God, that u should just look at the body and blood on the altar and have hope that God will lead me into his light again. I also need the believe that God is here and is here for me to love him.
God could have been anything and He chose to be bread because He loves us.
God is telling us that He has resurrected and to be joyful. Also that we should live our lives to the fullest and also worship God.
The scripture says that Jesus is the living bread that came down from Heaven and whoever eats the bread will live forever but not on earth but in Heaven. And the bread that Jesus gives is his flesh and is the life of the world.
Sometimes I like to put myself in the crowd’s shoes. What did they feel when Jesus said all this to them? I mean, imagine that a poor man walks up and starts to tell you to eat his flesh. Sounds pretty crazy, huh? This is exactly how the people felt when Jesus said all of this to them. They were suprised, maybe even a little scared. But this is EXACTLY where faith comes in! To have faith is to trust in the Lord with all your heart and mind and soul. Jesus wants us to trust in Him and to lean on Him whenever we need Him to hold us up.
Today Jesus says your ancestors ate manna but died. If you eat the bread of God you will live forever. This is also kinda like happiness. We look for happiness in all kinds of thing like TV or objects when we will only find true happiness in God.
In this reading Jesus is saying if we believe we will have eternal life
If we believe that God is with us in the Eucharist we will find eternal happiness
In this reading Jesus is saying if we believe we will have eternal life.
God will give us what we need to live. When Mr Goerts says that if we were worshiping a piece of bread by now god would of somehow someway god would have told us to stop.
The only way we can get to heaven is through the father. So if we dont have a relationship with him and if we dont live our lives for him then we wont get into heaven. Is it really worth it to be accepted by the world but to hear God say “depart from me for i never knew you. For me i would rather be hated and persecuted and judged by the world but hear God say “well done my good and faithful servant.
What I learned in todays Gospel was to listen to the Gospel word by word and live out my vocation better and to recieve the Lord every chance I have so I can get to Heaven.
what i learned from this scripture reflection is that we should walk in jesus’ path so that way we can get to heaven.
Jesus isn’t just any normal bread, HE IS THE BREAD OF LIFE!!! He says that our ancestors ate manna in the desert, but they died. “This is the bread that comes down from heaven so that one may eat it and not die.”
Jesus is fully alive in the Eucharist. If we ever want to talk to Jesus we can pray a Angel of God and ask our gardian angel to fly to the tabernacle. Then you can talk to Jesus
This scripture is telling me that we eat the bread that only fills us for a certain amount of time. He is saying to eat the bread of life which is him.
This tells me that God suffered for us and could have chose the best life possible.
Today in the gospel, Jesus tells us that he is the bread that came down from heaven and that whoever eats this bread will live forever. This is the holy Eucharist at mass. Jesus tells us that if we go to mass, receive the Eucharist, and have a life of prayer, we will reach heaven. I can apply this to my life by striving for a life of prayer.
This scripture teaches us that we need Jesus. We cannot do anything without Him. Jesus is our trail to help us get into heaven, everything He had done is for us.
In today’s gospel, God tells us to eat His body and drink his blood to have eternal life with Christ. To a non believer, this sounds very strange that all we need to do to have eternal life is just eat a piece a bread. But it is much deeper than that. The unleavened bread goes back from many, many years ago to the Passover. The Eucharist is there for us to consume to have Jesus enter our body. If this piece of bread is not the real Christ, then do you think that God would tell us that we are worshiping the wrong thing? We must be open to God and listen to Him when He is speaking to us.
I can apply this scripture to my life by going to church more and receiving Jesus in the Eucharist more. Jesus says, “I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever;” and Jesus is talking about going to Mass and receiving him in the Eucharist.
I think that this reading is trying to show us the power that our belief in God will have great rewards in Heaven. I think that this could be of great help to those that are lacking motivation. Everybody can find something that applies to their life directly. Unfortunately many people do not realize the importance of a relationship with God which is crucial for our eternal life. If we were to learn one thing from this it would be that we should look through the scriptures every day and you can find something that would apply to your life.
In today’s scripture I got that God is telling us that he is the only God and shall be the only God. He is truly alive in the bread and wine. He said we shall receive the Eucharist so we can spend time with him in eternal life.
The scripture is telling me that God is the one true almighty God and there is no one like him. He wants of to trust in him and have eternal life in Heaven with him.
In todays scripture Jesus is telling us that there is only one God to believe in him
Jesus wants us to be in Heaven and have eternal life with him. This is why he gives us his own flesh, body, and blood. He wants to save us all from sin, we just need to believe in him and take his offerings.
He is saying that you cant see God unless you believe and trust in me. He said that people use to ate manna from the sky but still worshiped other Gods.
I think what this is saying is that we should rely only on God. Another thing is that Jesus gave himself up for us, so we should return the favor and give everything to him, and give up everything earthly so we can be one within him.
Mr. Goertz told us before class that Jesus would not back down on this teaching even though he lost hundreds of followers in doing so. He never once came down to earth to tell us we were worshiping a false god. God will provide with all that we need to survive. I heard talk about evolution a few years ago. The speaker asked the crowed if the parts of a watch just naturally came together in the perfect size. Just as humans were formed by chance from another animal. No, it had to be created by something greater than it.
It says God is in the Eucharist and that he is joy. This shows that he is the truth and the almighty.
Why do we have so much evidence but do not believe in him? Why do we follow earthly things, thinking “this is going to bring me happiness”. What are we so afraid of?
This year for the musical we are doing frozen jr, which perfectly depicts why we are so afraid… we are afraid of being different, of hurting people we love with our differences. But Jesus, like Anna, runs to us and says “Come to me”, but we refuse, and in result kills him, but he rises from the dead, and follow him.
I think that this Gospel passage is telling me to truly believe that Jesus is the Eucharist. I think He really wants us to know that He loves us and He really wants us to love Him back.
I think God is telling us that He will always help us. He will always be there for us, and will provide for us when we need it. He loves us and is trying to show us everyday that He does.
God will provide us everything that we need as long as we believe in him. He sacrificed his life for us, if he didn’t do that, we wouldn’t be able to get to Heaven and be with Him.
Today, Jesus is telling us about the Eucharist and how he is what we need to eat to have eternal life. Now I think that many people, including myself, ask why bread. Why would Jesus, Son of the LIVING GOD decide to become something as low as bread? Why would someone who has power over the word, us, and life and death itself decide to become bread? Its because he wants to be accesable. He wants us to be able to take him in without any problems. He wants to be the most accessible things in the world. Bread is everywhere. Wheat grows almost everywhere(Except for china and surrounding areas, they grow rice). Also, bread is extremely spiritual to the Jews. They ate bread at passover, they grew bread, they had bread in the 40 years of the desert, it was everywhere. Jesus wants to be everywhere. And like how Jesus wants to be everywhere in the world, Jesus wants to be everywhere inside of us
Its telling us to put God above ourselves and nothing else above God.
“I am the bread of life.” Jesus said. We see this every time we go to mass. He is the one who taught us how to pray. He is the one who tells us, “Whoever eats this bread will live forever.” We will have eternal life with Him forever. We will be happy with Him forever.
jesus is telling us to have faith because our faith will be challenged that is just the truth so there is not other thing it will be challnged people will be challenged no matter what god loves us and so that is the truth
What this scripture says to me is that we all need to be ready to eat Jesus. He will be coming to all of us just for us to come to heaven. We all need Jesus in our daily life. If we do not see Jesus, Then we will all die.
What God is saying to me in this scripture is for us to be ready for God. He will send his son to all of us, and then he will take all of us back to heaven where we were created. We all shall be waiting, and we will need to be in grace, and he will take all of us back to heaven.
Today the scripture is telling me: We accept Jesus, we… how do I put this… We get to be happy forever. Like, imagine the happiest feeling you’ve ever had, now stretch that into eternity, and multiply it by God. Yeah. Crazy. But accepting Jesus is HARD. The Israelites and Jews couldn’t do it, and they were God’s Chosen People! But believe me, following Jesus is going to be worth it. Just a little bit of suffering in that tiny little grain that is our life, then the awesomeness of Heaven. If you put it into perspective, it doesn’t sound so bad.
God is found in communion. He is joy and we are a result of Him overflowing with joy. We need to have him into us for him to really be with us. It is up to us to make sure that we have Jesus in us. When we have communion it it like nothing ever before.
This is the Eucharist, Jesus is hidden in that single piece of bread. We will have Eternal Life if we believe that Jesus Christ himself is in that bread. Without the Eucharist, there would be no Eternal Life. Our Eternal Life might not be on this world, but it will be in His Kingdom of paradise! We cannot wait till we go to His Kingdom. It seems like a long time but He will always be waiting for us to be in His Kingdom and that He will never leave us. He will still be with us.
The Gospel today is telling me just how powerful God is. God will do anything for us and we just need to believe he will. When you are struggling or need prayers just know that God will be right there with you and help you. God loves us and we need to love him too.
The thing The Scriptures tell us today is that if you learn about God you can make it to Heaven. but not just learning about God, also knowing God Himself. And if you believe that the Eucharist is Jesus then you get closer to God.
I think this scripture is telling us that God is above all people and other people no matter how strong in faith, like Bishop Barron, Fr.Mike schmitz, or any other Catholic or human in ANY religion, They still can’t come CLOSE to God and his power. Except Jesus, and Jesus is God almighty.
What i got from this scripture is that Jesus is truly the Eucharist. He is the one that is sacrificed and turned into the real man in church. In this scripture Jesus is saying if its not me, the Eucharist don’t want it. If you follow God you will have the best life and we need to follow him. God will do anything for us, he shows it in every way.
God is telling me today that when I receive the Eucharist one more step to get ready for judgement day.
In the Gospel today God is telling us the future of Jesus. He is telling us what he will be like in heaven and on earth.
To me this means that the food God gives us even though it might be gross we must eat it. Jesus died on the cross for us just so we could be free. so if we think times are tough we can remember that Jesus Christ went through all of that pain only for us. this also means for me that if you drop the host on ever than the host will bleed, literally bleed real blood, than will turn into flesh. So we must never drop the host because it is basically dropping Jesus Christ on the ground.
In today’s gospel God is talking about the Eucharist. He is saying that if you receive communion then you are receiving him. If you eat his body (Eucharist) you are letting Jesus enter into you personally. Also if you eat the bread He says you will receive eternal life. This doesn’t mean literally eternal life but eternal life in heaven with Him. Lastly God lets us receive Him because He lives us and he wants ever single person no matter what sin you commit. He wants everyone to go to heaven and live eternal life with him.
I think that Jesus is telling me in this Gospel that we need to believe and trust in his will, In his preaching today, he says these crazy things: eat my flesh, drink my blood. And sometimes I’m just like wow, imagine hearing someone say this, not exactly knowing that he meant, we would eat his flesh and drink his blood through BREAD and WINE, we kinda sound like vampires, and this is when all of Jesus’s followers who were on a knives edge with their belief, failed. Jesus is asking us to follow his will, even if it might be outside our comfort zone.
Today I think that Jesus is telling me to accept Him. He wanted to by our friend and our companion. The Eucharist is not an object be a living person, as Mr. Goertz says. We should also strive to be more connected in Mass, to think about what our ancestors went though we they were in the desert. Doing these things can help us know who God truly is.
God only ever wants us to be happy in Heaven with him, but he never wants to control us. When we trust God and follow his teachings we will be saved. But we also have to preach to other people so they can know God too.
In this Scripture Jesus is telling us that He is the bread of life, and that we cannot live without Him. Jesus has given us so many signs that He really is the Lord, and He even straight out says it. If we don’ t believe in God even with all the evidence there is that He is real, I don’t know what else to believe in.
This scripture teaches that God is truly and surely true
God didn’t give us bread, he gave us his body. He wants to be with us at all times. He gave us a way to literally have him in us.
