Humbly submit your will to God (thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit,
and news of him spread throughout the whole region.
He taught in their synagogues and was praised by all.
He came to Nazareth, where he had grown up,
and went according to his custom
into the synagogue on the sabbath day.
He stood up to read and was handed a scroll of the prophet Isaiah.
He unrolled the scroll and found the passage where it was written:
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
because he has anointed me
to bring glad tidings to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim liberty to captives
and recovery of sight to the blind,
to let the oppressed go free,
and to proclaim a year acceptable to the Lord.
Rolling up the scroll, he handed it back to the attendant and sat down,
and the eyes of all in the synagogue looked intently at him.
He said to them,
“Today this Scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing.”
And all spoke highly of him
and were amazed at the gracious words that came from his mouth. Lk 4:14-22
Jesus reveals the greatest Truth today, He is the Messiah. He stands in His home Temple, reads the prophecy of Isaiah, then says, “Today this Scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing”. Is there any other way we need to hear it then straight from His mouth? Jesus just spoke to the world, He is the Messiah. The One to set us free from sin and death and reconcile us, the poor sinner, with God. This is life changing, it is revolutionary. It is the most bold statement by any person. Either Jesus is who He says He is or He is a bad man. -Bishop Barron
Therefore, it is easy to see why the Jews rejected Him. He was a poor man (from the other side of town), the son of a carpenter, an ordinary family. When He reveals himself to his closest companions, the disciples, they often have a hard time believing him and reject him, too. It is so difficult to wrap our heads around the idea that Jesus was the God-Man. It requires a free gift from God, faith.
Love changes that for all of us. As John closes his letter in the first reading, he says, “And the victory that conquers the world is our faith”. Human reason can only take us so far. We must take the leap and rely on faith. It is a difficult leap, but it conquers the world and leads us to the promised land. Do you believe Jesus and what He revealed to us today? To believe means to belong. We belong to God, branded by Him at our baptism. Are you ready to start loving? Love is a decision. We are asked by God to respond to His love for us and be loved.
The Good News: Jesus, the long awaited Messiah, is the God-Man, died on a cross, resurrected, and restored our relationship with the Father. Our brokenness is restored, we are loved, we belong, the lowest of the low belongs and is loved. God’s love is more powerful than all the powers of this earth and this love lives in us. It is what we are designed for and how we have entered into existence. Stop fighting it, stop doubting, and begin not only to exist, but live. St. Pope John Paul II said the Christian life is “a great adventure”. ”Be not afraid”. Start living!
Today’s challenge: Prove to God you love Him by following the commandments and treating others the way you want to be treated. Love. Believe. Belong.
Be a servant, become a saint!
#Christian YOLO
This shows us that we should not reject Jesus because then he cannot give his full love. But to believe we have to have faith.
What I take from today’s passage is that every time we go to mass we have a chance to hear the Lord speak. The Bible is the word of God. This is why we need to have it on our pillow and read it every day. The Bible is the passage way to get closer to God and a way to heaven. God speaks through The Bible so we need to listen.
This Scripture passage is very important because Jesus is telling the people in the temple about God which is Jesus. Jesus makes it very clear for us to know that He is the Messiah, but He also mentions how it is going to be hard for us to believe and live how He wants us to.
In today Gospel I hear that we need to always have our ears open for what God calls us to do. Then when we find out what He wants us to do, we will be forever happy with Him. In church you always need your ears open so that you understand all the words and what is going on in the Mass
When Jesus said “Today this Scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing.” This reminds me that Jesus is the full filler. He Is the beginning and the end. God sent Jesus so that we may be fulfilled and so we would know who to follow.
This gospel taught that I need to trust that God is Jesus and Jesus is God. I need to trust him more and I need to trust what he is teaching us. Sometimes we can fall a little and question our faith, but God will pull us into the light and make our relationship strong again. All we need to do is trust that God will be there for you and that he will take care of you.
I think this is trying to say that we as fallen humans, put God aside. We put other things first when God is right in front of us. We need to see what’s truly important and open our eyes. Jesus is the true Messiah.
It would take a lot of courage to tell a Jew you were the messiah. And if you weren’t the messiah, it would take a whole lot more courage. What if they found out you weren’t? What would they do to you? I think that no one who wasn’t the messiah would ever tell someone that they were. To many things could go wrong. Which is why Jesus was probably telling the truth. Since He believed that he was the messiah, it would have been a lot easier for Him to tell people.
This is interesting. We hear Jesus just boldly tell everyone in the synagogue that he is the Messiah. Pretty bold. This was in his own town, where he was rejected for saying this. But he did it anyway. We shouldn’t be afraid to do the same, proclaim Christ the Lord.
“Today this Scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing.” In today’s scripture, Jesus goes back to his home town Nazareth to preach. He says that the Scripture passage is fulfilled. This means God reveals himself that through Jesus to redeem the prophets in the Old Testament. God became man to die for us and to open the gates of heaven.
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
because he has anointed me
to bring glad tidings to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim liberty to captives
and recovery of sight to the blind,
to let the oppressed go free,
and to proclaim a year acceptable to the Lord.”
this stands out to me because in one scroll it tells us all we need to know like to me its saying, God is with us and he wants us to be glad and free. the one thing i see the most is BE YOURSELF or be the you you want to be and to help you become you pray.
Jesus basically reveals that he can do all things, even impossible things, with God. Jesus is God, and God is more powerful than anything. That is important to remember. From this gospel, I took the fact that all things are possible with God.
“(They) were amazed at the gracious words that came from his mouth.” “He taught in their synagogues and was praised by all.” Ever since Jesus was little, people were in awe of his knowledge. He talked with the wisdom of a man thousands of years older than he. When did people start hating him? When did they stop calling him smart and start calling him crazy? People agree with you until you start going out of the norm. You are viewed as weird if you go out on your own. Awe turns to crude remarks. Friends turn to foe. Jesus took a huge risk by proclaiming that he was the son of God. He knew thousands would turn away, but he proclaimed the truth anyway.
We should accept God and know Jesus helps us and those in need. We should follow Jesus’s example.
If we, His children, were to hear His voice, would we believe it was him, or believe that instead of Him, God forbid, a demon? If we are to not think one’s self of being Holy, how can we receive his graces? Isn’t His grace and love substantial for us, if we are to follow him? Does a flower only live on water and sunshine, or does it need something more? Why do we search for something more, if we are to be satisfied with what we have right here with Him?
Everyday, the priests are like Jesus. They read the Gospel and then they say what kind of happened in that Gospel. Jesus read the Gospel and said “Today this Scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing.” Then everyone was shocked and amazed at what he said in the synagogue.
Today the scripture verse is talking bout going and helping others and to tell them god things about them and try and raise them up if they are having a bad day.
We should follow Jesus’ example and accept Him as the Messiah.
This scripture reminds me of how great Jesus is. He came here to spread the word of God, and he did just that. The way people were in awe of him tells us how highly people thought of him, even before he had sacrificed his life.
Jesus is speaking to us that he is God. We need to believe that he is God and that he will do great the for and with us. He is saying that the prophets were saying that a man would come and save us and that man is Jesus.
It saying that we need to read the Bible and accepted Jesus.
Jesus is God! He has told us this many times in the bible. We need to believe He is with all our hearts and souls. The scripture passage Jesus was reading was fulfilled by Jesus. All of them were. Jesus is anointed by the Holy Spirit. He gives sight to the blind. He sets us free from our sins. He is amazing.
To me this is saying we can also have this feeling of gladness when we are at church with the word of God.
Today in this scripture when can see that Jesus loves us. He is the Almighty but still He comes and talks to us even though we are sinners. He doesn’t look at our wrongs and rights He looks at our faith and beauty.
IN today’s reading Jesus is making it very clear that he us our God. And is letting us decided weather or not we believe in him. After the reading the all spoke highly of him and Jesus and the followers both show that they believe.
“and were amazed at the gracious words that came from his mouth” this stands out to me because Jesus has has always been preaching and in the bible many scripture passages end with a line like that what he is saying has always been amazing people and his words and claims are still amazing today
I think this is a lot like a mass with the gospel and then the homely, where Jesus reads the scripture and then talks about it to the people. It also states that the people where watching him intently so I think this scripture is telling us to pay attention to the gospel, at least that is what I got out of it.
We should accept God and know Jesus helps us and those in need. We should follow Jesus’s example.
it is saying that we need to read the scripture daily and reflect on it on what Jesus says to us.
What I got from today’s scripture passage was that Jesus has told us over and over again that He is God but the question is, do you believe? Do you believe Jesus is God? That He is 3 person’s in one? Because He is and When you read the bible you can see that He loves you and cares for you. But do you Him? How can we expect to get to Heaven if we do not believe in Jesus’ word? We need to learn to trust in him and let Goff take the wheel.
I think in today’s scripture it is trying to tell us that we need to pay attention to God, and to listen to Him. When we go to Mass or pray, we need to be listening to what God has to say to us. Even though we are sinners, He still talks to us.
Today Jesus is trying to prove to us that He is the messiah. He shouldn’t need to. We should believe Him by the power of God and the Holy Spirit. What is wrong with us? Are we blind to the truth? We need to understand that He is there, all we need to do is accept
Him.
I think this scripture today tells us that we need to have our ears open and ready for Gods word. A lot of our time on Earth we are lost doing other things, so when God wants to speak to us we have to be ready to listen and to obey. If we figure out how to listen to God we will find our way to true love, happiness, and Heaven.
We need to listen to what Jesus says, because what He will say can change your life for the better. We go to Mass to hear Him speak through the Gospel and to receive Him, but we don’t just need to be in the church to hear Him. We can talk to God no matter where we are.
“and were amazed at the gracious words that came from his mouth” I saw this and thought he has been here this whole time and we haven’t been listening. we should listen to God more often and our lives will be made better. listen to Jesus our savior.
Jesus is telling us that He is God. He is here to fulfill the Scripture. Jesus is revealing Himself to us.
“Today this Scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing.” Jesus fulfilled around 100 prophecies in his lifetime. That means the prophets were real. The weren’t making crap up to satisfy the people(Hebrews). The were receiving REAL messages from GOD. This also means that the old testament is important and should be read.
The phrase that is sticking out to me is “Today this Scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing.” All spoke highly of him and were amazed at the gracious words that came from his mouth. I believe this is important because every Scripture passage has a meaning. For this passage it’s being fulfilled in your hearing. Life isn’t something you dislike; Life is something were you take risks and take challenges and also to push yourself to do what’s right. God will always be there for you when you need help.
In this Scripture passage makes me think of what we have been told for a long time. What Jesus says is. What Jesus says is indeed true. “Today this Scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing.” Jesus told the Jews that He is God. God sent the Holy Spirit to Isaiah so that he would write that piece of Scripture. God then sent Jesus to fulfill the Scripture.
I think the scripture today is telling us that we need to be brave like Jesus, stand up and say what we did in confession and that we always need to be ready for when he comes again.
“Today this Scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing.” To me, this is telling me that reading the Bible is very important, and it’s not just a through-one-ear-out-the-other type thing. It isn’t just reading it, but reflecting on it; really, truly thinking about it; rereading that one sentence that just keeps repeating itself in your head; these are all things that truly represent reading the Bible. So now, either we need to read the Bible more fully, or we need to start reading the Word of God entirely.
I think this scriputure passage is telling us that there is a meaning, a purpose for everything. Jesus says, “Today this Scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing.” Everything has a purpose. For instance your washing machine washes your clothes, you microwave heats things up. It’s just what they were made to do. In context to us, we were made to spread Gods word. We were made in the image of God. He wants to help us with our journey in life to become truly with him. Something small may happen and you don’t think to much about it, but in reality, that small thing could change a life time.
In this scripture passage it is telling me to never fall away from God and to never disbelieve in him because he is the holy savior. If we fell away from God then our life would never be the same. Always know that God is true and holy and He will always love you.
Most of this scripture is from a Bible verse, Luke 4:14-22, which states,14 Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about him spread through the whole country side. 15 He was teaching in their synagogues, and everyone praised him. 16 He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. He stood up to read, 17 and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it was written: 18 “The Spirit of the Lord is in me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, 19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” 20 Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him. 21 He began by saying to them, “Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.” 22 All spoke well of him and were amazed at the gracious words that came from his lips. “Isn’t this Joseph’s son?” they asked.
This scripture reflection is telling me that Jesus has all of the power in the world. Yet some of us still don’t praise him. He created us, giving us our own existence, and we still don’t praise him. We need to try to change all of out ways to focus on him, putting minor thing aside, that may give us temporary joy, but being with Jesus is ever lasting joy that will be with us for the rest of our days in heaven.
I think the scripture passage means that what ever we hear is what we are going to believe, so we need to only let good into our life and avoid the bad so we only hear the good.
This reminded me that Jesus is the full filler. The creator of all living things. He is the true God and no one else can be Him. He is the person who saved us all from our sins.
This scripture is telling me that the Lord will only give, he gave us the sacraments and gave us his son. He gave us rules to follow and gave us a path the follow. He made heaven for us to rest with him. He wants the best for you and for you to take his gifts.
This passage is telling us to keep reading the scripture and never let your faith fail. Jesus has made a promise to come again and we need to prepare. It could be tomorrow or in 100 years. It could be at any point in time. We have to uphold our promises and become closer to him. He is the savior and he has never let us down.
Today’s gospel just hits a bit differently, it’s so simple, so direct. “Today this Scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing.” Jesus just gives it like it is, he is the one they are talking about, all know about him and his works, he is finally proclaiming to his own people who he is, the messiah the prophesied one, God in flesh.
God is amazing in everything he does. We need to out our trust in him and give everything to God and let him take control instead of trying to do it all ourselves. Bad stuff will always happen so we need to give that all up to God.
In today’s scripture, it reminds us everything God can do for us and what Jesus can do. God loved us so much that he sent his own Son, in flesh, to die for us. Though we give God resentment and sins, God’s love for us is so great that he still chose us. We should never turn away from God and we need to know that we need to trust Him.
The Gospel today is telling me we should always be ready to talk to God. God will always be waiting for us and will always come talk to us when we need him.God will do anything for us but we also need to treat him the way he deserves to be treated.
I think that this Gospel passage is telling me that it is very important to never fall away from God. He is the only Jesus Christ out of everyone on this whole planet so it is very important that we try our best to do His will and to believe in Him even when we are mad at everything and want to take out our anger on Him. We shouldn’t take out our anger on God, because God did nothing wrong and has done everything for us. He has given us everything we have today and everything we will have in the future. So why are we so angry towards Him? He saved us the least we can do is do His will.
Today, Jesus is telling us the truest thing that the world has to offer. It is that he is God. There is nothing else that is as simple and as complex as that statement. Jesus is God, and that’s that. But what does that mean, what does him being God mean. If he is the son of God, how can he be God. If he is the offspring of the creator, how can he himself be the creator. So many questions that stem from one, simple statement. That is why we need to be simple. We don’t need to think deeply into this question and confuse ourselves. We just need to be simple and accept this simple statement that Jesus is God and there is nothing else we need to know
I think this passage is saying that we have to listen to the Lord and to hear him we need to pray and read his teachings. Also how the Lord is waiting for us we just need to hear and accept Him.
Jesus is God. We should be thankful that God created us. We should do any little prompts the Holy Spirit gives us not only because we love Jesus but because we are thankful that he created us, and he also saved us from our sins.
Today Jesus fulfilled a passage that he read to the people at the Synagogue. The scroll he read was talking about Jesus being sent to the people on Earth. When it says “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me” it shows that he is part of the Trilogy. “to bring glad tidings to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, and to proclaim a year acceptable to the Lord.” explains the reason he came to Earth. At this point he had already done miracles like letting the blind see so the people there probably realized this, and even if they didn’t we can today. This is one of the way that Jesus revealed that He was the Messiah.
Today in the scripture, Jesus plainly says that he is the messiah. When I go to mass, I see with my own eyes the consecration, but do I believe it? At the time, it was blasphemous to say you were God and nowadays and in our culture, it is also very “different” to believe in our faith. Jesus shows us today how we need to stand up to our faith even when it goes against everyone else.
Jesus reveals the Truth today. He is the Lord, Messiah. He read the scripture. “Today this Scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing.” He says afterwards. He stands in his Temple, right then and there, and claims to be Messiah. Son of God. He is praised. How did it go from being praised for being the Lord to Dying on the Cross? The people didn’t understand. We do now. We can love the Lord, Jesus and we can believe in him. Believe that he is the Messiah.
This scripture tells of Jesus going to Nazareth to speak in the synagogue. He reads the scripture and is proclaimed fulfilled. He revealed the truth in His words and the people were grateful. He was our Savior who died for us so we may be saved form sin. He stood there with that scroll to read scripture and fulfilled it.
When Jesus was in he temple reading he was telling them about himself. I think that this scripture is telling me to listen. When Jesus was in the temple he read the Gospel and preached though he was talking about himself.
Our problem is we put God aside and do other things we find entertainting. We should always put God first and pray and spend time with hime, puting other things aside and putting Him first.
I think God is trying to tell us that Jesus never fell away from God and that in today world most of us are falling away from him really easily by distractions and technology and how we should follow in his footsteps and stand for what we believe in.
Today’s Gospel passage reminds us that when we pray we need to not only talk to Jesus but to also listen to his amazing wise words he is trying to tell us.
This gospel is saying to me, to accept God and to know Jesus helps us and those in need. God is so amazing and perfect in everything that he does. We need to trust him and give everything to God. He must be our top priority.
The Trinity, Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit are the same three persons in one. In the scripture Jesus claimed he is God. When I read this I ask myself, Do I believe him? God sent his one and only son to die for my sin your sin and all the is of the world.
What I take from today’s passage is that every time we go to mass we have a chance to hear the Lord speak. The Bible is the word of God. This is why we need to have it on our pillow and read it every day. The Bible is the passage way to get closer to God and a way to heaven.
In this passage, it feels like Jesus is directly speaking to us. I mean he literally mentions that we are hearing the Scripture passage. He also says that it will be fulfilled. God’s Word will be fulfilled in time, for he has a plan. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you a hope and a future.”
What I think this scripture passage is saying is that God is always finding a way to speak to you and have a conversation with just you and him. He can use anything he could be a sound that is trying to tell you that he is there for you and speaking to you but you have to let him in. I can apply this to my life by not blocking everyone out and listing to the things that matter most.
Jesus announced Himself to his town or at least the people that were in the Synagogue, that He was the Messiah. He did this knowing that he was going to be “made fun of”, and nobody would believe him. But He did it anyways and continued to preach the Lords’ words. Which if He can say he is the Messiah than I think we should have no fear in preaching His word now days.
This scripture passage means to me that we need to accept God and the holy trinity to get to heaven
The gospel is telling me today that we should always be listening for Him we shouldn’t ever reject. When God has something to say to us we shouldn’t just ignore Him or leave we need stay and listen because he is the light. He knows the path we should follow.
Todays Scripure is about jesus coming back to Galilee and Nazareth and telling the scripture. We need to thank Jesus for what he did and for everything.
As i take myself back to that synagogue I would start to ask myself in that moment maybe he is telling the truth. Next to me my people would say this is blasphemy. Now I would want to join the crowd but what if it is true. God isn’t only revealing himself to us today he is giving us a chance. A chance to believe. Even today that offer is still on the table. It is just waiting there the truth about this man that claims to be the alpha and the omega. (Yahweh) Now would you believe it or would you fade back into the crowd to keep your name high. Sure it might keep your reputation but in Heaven no one is higher than God.
In this scripture passage Jesus is telling us that he is the true God. When we go to Mass we see Jesus as bread and wine. That is the body and blood of Christ. We need to believe that Jesus is in it so that we can be true to him. If we just see it as normal bread and wine how are we truly Catholic. We need to stand up to our faith. Jesus shows that.
When Jesus told people that he was truly the Messiah there were people who did not believe him. Even when he did miracles they still did not believe he was Gods son. If I was them and someone had come to me and said that they were God I probably would not believe them either. Some people chose not to believe and not to love God. And this is because they do not want to not be able to do things that they want to, the things of this world. And some people just do not want to believe in God just because they do not want to. And this is what were are called to do as christans to show everyone the love of God and to show them that God will always be waiting for them to come back to him.
I think that today’s gospel is trying to explain to us how we need to listen to our priest’s homily. Jesus was a preacher. Whenever out priests are preaching to us during their homily, they are speaking whatever Jesus put in their head. At our church we are blessed with how superb out priests are at public speaking and that is because they put in the time and effort and make great homilies with the help of the Lord. This means we should try to stay awake during their homilies and not be daydreaming. If you were in the synagogue and you witnessed Jesus giving a sermon, I know for sure that you would not be thinking of what was for lunch or how cool the person next to you’s shoes are. You would be fully focused on Jesus. Tomorrow at mass we have the opportunity to go to mass and this time, lets treat it like it is Jesus talking to you because it will have a real impact on your life.
Today Jesus goes to Nazareth to teach in the synagogue. He also tell the people in the synagogue that He has fulfilled the was Isaiah had prophesied. It said that He is to bring glad tidings to the poor. Jesus came down for us and to open the gate of Heaven for us. He did all of those things so that we could have an Eternity with Him in Heaven.
To me this Scripture is a reminder that the Bible is completely useless unless we open it and read the Word of God inside. We can use the excuse that we forgot over and over again, but God knows our true intentions. But even with His knowledge of all, He still always will love and forgive us. That’s who He is, and we need to learn to accept His loving and forgiveness.
jesus ghellp nsas
I think this scripture is telling us that we need to listen to Jesus. He is always with us wherever we go. He is helping us and guiding us in life and we need to listen to him. He wants us to get to heaven and be with him. But to get there we have to listen to him because he is trying to help us.
For me the scripture is saying that we have no knowledge unless we read or listen to the word of God or Jesus and his apostles. Also that knowledge of the past and future is always amazing to have.
Jesus wants us to preach to everyone about the good news, about him!! We say we are Catholics but a lot of us never open a Bible at home at night or in the morning. Jesus’ disciples wrote the Bible through him and the Bible is useful. We can not go into the world strong and believing in him if we don’t read the scriptures.
I believe that Jesus is telling us that no matter what, he will always be doing good in the world, whether it’s healing the lame, letting the blind see, making the deaf hear, allowing the mute to speak, he’s always going to be here, helping the world. And when we see what he’s doing, what he has proclaimed to us has been fulfilled.
The Gospel is saying that you need to open your book and pray. Also read the gospel and learn form it just how Jesus read it form that piece of paper.
I think that this is trying to tell us that we need to stop rejecting the the truth that Jesus is the Messiah. The son of God, the father. Although it is difficult to believe, we must believe so that we can get to heaven.
In today’s passage it says “today this scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing” which means you heard me now go! Proclaim the word of the lord and make it none to everybody that God is with us and always will be.
I think this scripture means that we should be open minded. If someone today said that he is Jesus we would think he is crazy as people did then. It is in the bible that Jesus will come again as it did 1000 years ago. But many people have claimed to be God and all of them are wrong. We will know when he comes again.
This is saying to me that if you don’t read the Bible then you don’t care. In church everyday you hear 2 to 3 passages from the Bible. So that means that you aren’t trying to become more holy or read the Bible.
today gospel tells us to listen. Because God came to Nazareth and spoke to the Jews and some of them listened and believe and some didn’t but the ones that did some of them turned out to be disciples. Thais why we have to listen because is always peaking to us and its a great way to create a relationship with God and a ticket to heavan
The Scripture teaches us that we should listen and talk to God. We have to be ready in case God is calling us to him. When we talk to God like he is a friend we can grow closer to him. Growing closer to God is getting closer to Heaven.
The Gospel is telling me is we always have to keep our ear open.So when Jesus is trying to tell us something that we hear him.
In this scripture Jesus was telling the whole world that He was God, I bet that there were millions of people that thought “This guys crazy he can’t be God on earth as one of us. he is spreading lies.” But they weren’t there at the wedding of cana or His crucifixion and where he died. There just gonna say that the temple ripped its own curtens at just the exact right time, and that nothing had happened. When the chiefs and scribes hid everything from the people, So why would they not believe that Jesus was lying and spreading rumors. Because they had no proof that they had not seen him do anything.
“All spoke highly of him” what I think Jesus is trying to say today is that we need to believe that’s why they all spoke highly of him. It was because they believed. That’s what we need to do is believe. All the dumb distractions in this world don’t want us to believe but we need to not listen to them and BELIEVE.
Today, I think the scripture tells us that we need to have our ears open and ready for when God has something important to tell us. God says everything for a reason, weather we understand it yet or we will in the future. He always has a plan. We need God and God is open to his grace, but you have to sacrifice to open your ears to him. A lot of our time here on Earth we are lost doing things that we think are more important, so when God speaks to us we have to be ready to obey and listen. He is trying to teach us something or tell us something. If we figure out how to listen to God we will be happier and we will slowly find our way to true happiness.
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring glad tidings to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, and to proclaim a year acceptable to the Lord.”
I’d like to do a sort of “Retrospective” of what the prophet Isaiah is saying here. The first line, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me”, is most likely means that Jesus is the Spirit of the Lord, and he is with the people OR it’s saying that God is with them. The second line, “Because he has anointed me to bring glad tidings to the poor” is saying that afformentioned Spirit of the Lord is upon them because is telling them to help the poor. The third line, “He has sent me to proclaim liberty to captives and recovery of sight to the blind”, is saying that the Spirit of the Lord has sent them to bring freedom to people in captivity and bring the recovery of sight to the blind. The fifth line, “To let the oppressed go free”, is pretty much saying the exact same thing I just said. And finally, the sixth line, “And to proclaim a year acceptable to the lord.”, is saying that they were sent to, well, proclaim a year acceptable to the lord.
I think this scripture is telling us that we need to listen for the lord and ignore him. And we need to know that he will always forgive us if we come to him. And we need to be ready for him. “All spoke highly of him” the reason they spoke highly of him is because they believed and we need to start speaking highly of him we need to get out there and speak good about the lord.
I think the scripture is telling us that Jesus is the Messiah. Jesus is showing us love and when we sing at Mass we are showing that love back.
I think this scripture is about Jesus being able to help.God always knows the right and he knows our future. No matter how much we want to deny it and go the opposite way Jesus says to go, he is always right. We need to trust in God and always give our best to him when we have the opportunity
In this Scripture passage, I learned that by showing your love for God, He will love us back. God will always be there for us whether we are rich or poor. We should always treat others with kindness just like He did. We should always follow His teachings and share the Good News.
In the Scripture passage Jesus is revealing that He is God. He is proclaiming the word saying He is the Messiah. Saying that He will be will us even when we sin. We have to learn that God is merciful and will always forgive us. He will also heal us . If we are blind He can help us see. If we are deaf He can help us hear. Not just in our senses. But in seeing and hearing God’s love and His words.
We need GOD for eternal life. We need his beautiful words and prophecies. We need his grace and love. We need to love him back as well. We need to follow his ways and worship him.
IN this Scripture I got that Jesus is amazing. Jesus will take all our sins because HE loaves us. We the people need to recognize this and give up all our sins to Jesus even if you don’t want to because your ashamed of your sins. Jesus loves us no matter what we do.
With the power of God and Him spreading the word anything can be accomplished and things will be easy through Him.
What I am getting from this Gospel is that we shouldn’t reject God and that we shouldn’t ignore the Bible because the Bible is literally God talking to us and telling the story of His Son and all historical Biblical stories are told by the man who created Heaven and earth, God. If we reject Him, where would we be? If it weren’t for God, would we be where we are right now? With all the Miracles He has given us, why should we ever leave and reject our creator and Father?
We should be thankful that God is with us throughout our entire life and that he will never leave any of us.
I think this passage is saying that we need to sit down and listen to Jesus. Sometimes we need to just listen to what he has to say.
This scripture is telling us that we should follow God in all that we do and tell people about Him.
Everything has a purpose, and with God, nothing is impossible.
