Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.

Jesus said to the chief priests and the elders of the people:
“What is your opinion?
A man had two sons.
He came to the first and said,
‘Son, go out and work in the vineyard today.’
The son said in reply, ‘I will not,’
but afterwards he changed his mind and went.
The man came to the other son and gave the same order.
He said in reply, ‘Yes, sir,’ but did not go.
Which of the two did his father’s will?”
They answered, “The first.”
Jesus said to them, “Amen, I say to you,
tax collectors and prostitutes
are entering the Kingdom of God before you.
When John came to you in the way of righteousness,
you did not believe him;
but tax collectors and prostitutes did.
Yet even when you saw that,
you did not later change your minds and believe him.”  MT 21:28-32

During the Advent readings, I continue to hear Jesus say, “I am giving you every sign you need to know the Messiah is among you.”  He rarely uses words but the Jews should easily be able to see the prophecies the Christ is fulfilling in front of their eyes.  Today, even if Jesus was being videotaped and posted on Facebook and YouTube there would be people saying that those miracles are fake, it’s magic, that is being photo-shopped.  Even if Jesus came into our home, school, or business and preached and performed miracles in front of us, when He left we would still have to believe and follow Him. We would have to research by what power He was doing these things.  We would want to know if this is really the truth and what He was doing was real.

Belief begins in our hearts and then follows through with our intellect and will (actions)-Peter Kreeft.  This is why silent prayer is necessary to gain heaven.  God is in our heart because we are baptized and have the Holy Spirit in us.  ”When John came to you in the way of righteousness, you did not believe him; but tax collectors and prostitutes did.”  Jesus is telling us that no matter what our past entails, if we open our heart and believe, God’s grace can do the impossible.  It is only by God’s grace and doing His Will that we believe, this is the gift of faith. Be bold and believe in the One who is trying to love you. This brings great peace and joy! Jesus said to him, “Because you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed.” John 20:29

Today’s challenge: Learn to be still.  Increase the time you spend in silence if possible in a Church or the Adoration chapel, if not in a silent place in the home (if you can find one) or in nature.  Open your heart up and believe.  Open your heart up and allow God to heal you in confession.

Be a servant, become a saint!
