Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
Jesus said to his disciples:
“Anyone who gives you a cup of water to drink
because you belong to Christ,
amen, I say to you, will surely not lose his reward.
“Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin,
it would be better for him if a great millstone
were put around his neck
and he were thrown into the sea.
If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off.
It is better for you to enter into life maimed
than with two hands to go into Gehenna,
into the unquenchable fire.
And if your foot causes you to sin, cut if off.
It is better for you to enter into life crippled
than with two feet to be thrown into Gehenna.
And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out.
Better for you to enter into the Kingdom of God with one eye
than with two eyes to be thrown into Gehenna,
where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.
“Everyone will be salted with fire.
Salt is good, but if salt becomes insipid,
with what will you restore its flavor?
Keep salt in yourselves and you will have peace with one another.” Mk 9:41-50
Today’s Gospel should lead us to reflect on what leads us to sin and to avoid the near occasion of sin. What part of our life do we need to become poor? Why? We are baptized and called by God to a very high expectation, sanctity, holiness, a saint. I fall short of this expectation every day. It is God’s grace that will help us reach our goal, heaven. Today, Jesus gives us a great lesson for any time in our lives we are struggling with sin. God gave us the spiritual powers of intellect and will. We can choose after we reflect to change our habits. St. Teresa of Avila wisely said, “Don’t let your sins become habits”.
Every time we turn on the TV, Internet, radio or read the newspaper, a magazine, or book we are being lied to and this information is forming what we believe. Only Jesus is the Truth. There are good things on these media outlets, but with a fallen human nature we go to the good, then fall into temptation and go to the bad. Many of these things can become addictive. The Good News is God gave us a great power, self-control. A conscience and intellect to learn the good and avoid the bad. A free will to choose the good. Everything we allow into our eyes and ears forms who we are and what we think. This is powerful! We must protect ourselves and keep our eyes on heaven. What a difficult task in this technological age! We are not called to fit in with the culture, we are called to be saints.
Today’s challenge: What are you looking for? What is the true intention of your heart? What area of your life do you need to become poor in so you can be rich in God’s blessings? You control you, nothing is too hard to stop with God’s grace. Lent is coming, reflect on what is leading you to sin. It is usually some underlying factor you are missing.
Be a servant, become a saint!

This tells us that making sacrifices is worth it if it will cause you to sin less.
If we lead other people to sin it is worse than just killing yourself. We have to spread the word of God not pull people away from it. Sin draws us away from God. Every time we sin were hurting God. With mortal sin it completely cuts you off of God’s grace so you can’t go to Heaven if you have a mortal sin on you.
I think this is saying that we should do anything to stop up from sinning. Sin is something very difficult to deal with. We take God’s purpose away if we’re sticking and idolizing material goods, when God should be the only thing we should be idolizing, or sticking to. To get closer to God, we need to get rid of whats tempting us to get closer to Him and to get to Heaven.
I have learned that God is too merciful for us to understand. I learned that God is also going to be here for me. I learned in this scripture that God always wants us to do what is right and He wants us to refrain from causing us to cut off our hand if we have sinned with it. He wants us to keep the body innocent and keep it Holy and righteous.
sin is a virus and i see it as going to mass is like wearing a mask and confession is like a booster shot that’s why whenever i have any thing on my mind i go to confession to relive the sickness.
Today, Jesus is telling us to do whatever we can to avoid sin. The example he uses is a bit exaggerated, but it get the point across. If something in your life causes you to sin, then find some way to take it out of your life, or at least mitigate its effects on you.
“If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. And if your foot causes you to sin, cut if off. And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out.” In today’s gospel, Jesus tells us to do whatever it takes to avoid sin, because of how great the award of heaven is. He tells us this on a very extreme level, but he tells us that you need to get rid of whatever is causing you to sin.
Jesus said “If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off.” and ” And if your foot causes you to sin, cut if off.” God is trying to tell us that Sin comes in all shapes and forms. You must be prepared to fight it with all your heart because God will be on your side always. My life has taught me that even when you fail you must get back up but you can’t rely on yourself. You must trust that God will help you.
In today’s Scripture Jesus is telling us to not sin and to do whatever it takes to stop sinning. If our electronics are causing us to sin we shouldn’t use them, if our friends are causing us to sin find new ones. We need to use our own power to get rid of our sin to be in Heaven with God.
In today’s gospel God is telling me that we need to use all of our body to serve God. He did not create us to just do bad things and mistreat ourselves and others. He made us to serve and love Him. When you use you body for good, you will have eternal life in heaven with Him. If you don’t use you body for good then you have to work very hard to get it back on track because the Kingdom of Heaven is not for bad people.
Today in this gospel I learned that if I make a sin I should stop making the same sin by stopping my temptations get the best of me. I should resist temptation and I should not let the devil get the best of me. I should follow in the oath that God choose for me and not get distracted by the temptations the devil have put in my way. Trust that God will be there and be you light when things are dark.
“If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed than with two hands to go into Gehenna.” If there is something that causes you to sin or something that you sin with, you need to get rid of it right away. If its not there than you won’t sin with that thing.
This gospel today is talking about being drawn to sin and the consequences that come with it. We need to get rid of the things in our life that keep causing us to sin. It may be hard but it will lead us to the greater reward.
The scripture today tells me that sin is so tempting that Jesus had to go to extremes to make people stop sinning. He said that even if you cause someone to sin, not sinning yourself, it would be better for you if you essentially drowned. He said that even if a small part of your body makes you sin, maim yourself. If He needs to give us that clear of an example of how bad hell is to combat our temptation to sin, then the temptation is very strong. And He has given us a multitude of ways to conquer that temptation in the Gospels.
Jesus is telling us that it is worth it to fight our sins. That is very important to remember. We get caught up with worldly things so much that some of us praise those things rather than God. It comes down to praying. It is impossible to get through a sin without God. Praying is the stepping stone that begins the stairway to Heaven. If we pray, and we listen to what God is trying to tell us, and realize that God is on our side, we will be on the path to greatness in Eternal Life with the Trinity.
Sinning is very serious. Jesus died on the cross taking our sin even though he never sinned. Jesus saved us so we could have life with God in heaven. We are indebted to him to fight sin and do good works.
I think this scripture is saying to always fight sin and fight temptations. If you chose sin willingly, it will weigh on your heart and not knowing your sinning isn’t as bad but still wrong towards Jesus. Choosing to do the right things can be hard but God is always by your side to help you succeed in life and choose to do right.
It will be harder for the one who has much to enter Heaven than the one who has little to enter Heaven. Why? Because the temptation to sin is greater for the rich than for the poor. “If your arm causes you to sin, cut it off”. Instead, if something you have causes you to sin, no matter how much it means to you, whether a person or a thing, cut it off. How much harder it would be to enter heaven with these things or relationship, than to be without it? If we are not willing to give away everything we have, physical, mental, or spiritually, we are not worthy of the one who sent us. Alas, how many more will fall down the path of evil, than to follow the path of good?
Be with people who set good examples for you.
Jesus was saying that when we Sin it hurts not only us but hurts Him and we need to stop doing those sins that we do and we need to get rid of those sins so that we can be better with Jesus and stay on his side and not get tempted to do those sins that we do over and over again
I think Jesus is saying that we need to fight temptation everywhere we go. Like Jesus said if we sin with our hand we need to use our hand in the right way and not to do the same thing with it. We need to fight the temptation so we can be with God forever.
What reached out to me was when it said, “f your hand causes you to sin, cut it off”. What this means to me is that we have the power to avoid sin, and we should try to at all costs. The worst thing that we can do is sin, and we can avoid that if we try hard enough.
This scripture tells us that we should get rid of what makes us to sin, and that we will also be punished if we are the one to make others sin. It says to go as far as to cut off our hand if that’s what makes us sin, and if you are the reason another sins, then you’re better off dead. The scripture may be brutal with its words, but it simply stresses the need to not sin.
In this Gospel it tells us to not lead others into sin. God wants us to help those who sin instead of making their sin worse. Another thing that Jesus tells us through this Gospel is that we should prioritize getting to heaven. Nothing is more important than being with Jesus. If something causes us to sin we should get it out of our lives.
Its telling you that if someone is making you sin you have to take them out of your life and find better people. If something is making make wrong choices you need to throw it away.
This gospel is telling me that GOD is better than everyone else.
I think this scripture is targeted towards parents who don’t teach their kids how to be good Catholics, but instead set a bad example and encourage them to sin. Children look up to their parents or guardians and setting a bad example for them isn’t right.
Today’s Gospel tells us that we need to get rid of the things that are causing us to sin. Jesus says ” And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. ” This is telling us that if something is hurting your relationship with God get rid of it. Gods relationship is so much more important than all the other distractions in life.
this scripture is saying if you sin for example you sin with your eyes and then you go to confession and then it saying ̈And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out.Better for you to enter into the Kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into” it saying if you sin with your eyes then pluck one out it saying going to confession and like taking time out of you day to just go to confession.
In today’s scripture passage Jesus talks about how we need to get rid of any thing in our live that is causing us to sin. We need to throw those things away and come back to God. Even if it is some thing you think you can’t live without like the examples Jesus gives your ,hand foot, and eye.
In today’s reading Jesus is telling us that we will always have to face sin, and there is no way to get rid of it. Jesus expresses about sin in a cruel way. Where as more in realty I think he is saying don’t be with people that you can’t trust to help keep your life on the right path.
What stuck out to me is how he tells us exactly how to fight sin. He tells us that if something makes you sin than don’t go back to it, and if it is around you than cut it out of your life don’t let it prevail.
I think Jesus is telling us that we have to fight against sin and temptation. We can’t let temptations get the best of us. If something is causing us to sin get rid of it whether its an eye or a leg. We should try to separate ourselves from what is cause us to sin because the reward (Heaven) will be better than anything we could have asked for.
If we want to go to Heaven. To have eternal life. To be with God forever. We must follow him and his rules. He knows we are sinners, but we must get rid of what causes us to sin. Because getting rid of something that causes you to sin, will be made up for you in Heaven. Heaven will make up for it all.
If something is making you sin take it away. If you make someone do something they shouldn’t do you should be ashamed. Everyone has good and bad. We just need to control the bad even though it is a temptation.
in todays Gospel Jesus is telling us to get rid of the things that make us sin, even if its something that is important to us. He said its better to lose the things you need and enter Heaven than keep the things you want and enter hell.
I think this scripture passage is telling us that in order to have eternal life with God, we need to make sacrifices. It is telling us that it is better to make sacrifices, and come to Heaven with no sins, than to spend the rest of eternity in Hell. Every sin has a consequence. Jesus wants us all to get to Heaven, but in order to do that, we need to face our consequences for sinning.
In this gospel I believe God is telling us that we need to work hard to defeat temptation and he will help us along the way. I think people need to understand that God is here to help guide you as well as Jesus and The Holy Spirit. As much as we want to just do it ourselves we need to understand that we can’t. We are human we need help on the way to salvation.
If something causes you to sin, get rid of it. This is the main message of the gospel today. Now, in this time in life, the message is better said as if your technology causes you to sin, stop using it. It is better to go to heaven with no phone that to go to hell with one.
This is telling us that we need to do whatever we can to avoid sin. Jesus says for us to cut our arm off if it causes us to sin. God knows all so we should trust in him.
sin is a virus and i see it as going to mass is like wearing a mask and confession is like a booster shot that’s why whenever i have any thing on my mind i go to confession to relive the sickness.
In this scripture today, I learned that Jesus loves us so much and wants us to do the right thing even in hard times. Even though it seems hard to do the right thing in the moment, later you will be glad you chose to follow Jesus. But if you do the wrong thing in the moment because it is easier, later it will come back to hurt you very badly. We should always choose to follow Jesus and to listen to his teachings.
To stop sin, you have to keep away from what is making you sin. This scripture really shows that. It says “Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him if a great millstone were put around his neck and he were thrown into the sea.”. Instead of helping each other sin, we should help each other stay away from sin.
We cannot have sin on our souls when we enter heaven so we need to do our best to avoid sinning and temptation. Jesus told them to cut off the things that cause them so sin, no matter how precious it was. We need to give ourselves completely to Him in order to have eternal life in heaven.
In Scripture, Jesus is telling us that we have to get rid of whatever is causing us to sin. We need to sacrifice our wants for things that cause us to sin. We have to fight temptation. We also need to make sure that we are not making others sin.
In today’s scripture passage I felt that God is trying to tell us that if there is someone in our life who brings out the worst in us or makes us sin that we should cut them out of our life. It may be hard but the great reward in the end is worth it. Why would you want to keep someone in your life that is making you feel terrible? Are they really helping you reach your ultimate achievement in life?
Something that stood out to me was, “It is God’s grace that will help us reach our goal, heaven.” This has meaning because we don’t have to struggle to get to heaven. God will always be there for us in hard times, good times, and bad times. He will never ever leave you; He will always be there to guide you and He will be there to forgive your sins. Life isn’t something that you just throw away. Jesus died on the cross for us and we should always be grateful for that because He did a lot more then any of us humans can do.
This scripture reflection was telling me that if I am committing a sin constantly or more than others then i need to do something to help me from committing that sin. The scripture says that if your eyes are the things making you sin then pluck your eyes out. so if you are always talking back to your parents or always talking bad about other people then you need to talk to God and ask him what you can do to help you stop committing that sin and he will guide you.
what Jesus is trying to tell us to avoid sin. If your not going to avoid it then what good does it do. If you are tempted pray. Hes trying to tell us to avoid sin, to do anything to avoid it. what good does sin do to you or to the ones around you or God. Do anything to avoid sin, like absolutely anything.
I think today’s scripture is saying that we must fight temptation by doing what we must to stop sinning.
God is there you just need to listen, pray, and stay grateful to God.
When I was younger, I always never understood this gospel because I didn’t understand the purpose and meaning of Jesus’s words. Now I know that when he says, “If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off,” means that if something in your life causes you to sin, you need to either stop doing it or work your way out of it. This can be really difficult especially because it is a temptation, so we keep doing it. We can’t let our temptations lead others to sin also though. Jesus also says that anyone who sacrifices himself for Him or leads another person to holiness will not regret it. I can apply this to my life by being aware of how temptation leads my life and by not being afraid to make a change in my life or someone else’s for the better.
The scripture is saying, flee from sin at all costs. This means that if our phone causes us to sin, we must put a filter or whatever on it. If anything causes us to sin then we must flee from it and turn to God
I think this Gospel is helping us all to stop sinning. What causes you to sin you need to get rid of or find ways to control your sin. God is always reaching out his hand to us and guiding us to Heaven, he gives us help we just need to realize it and do something about it.
The Gospel today is telling me that you can sin in anyway and God is trying to help us to not sin anymore. We need to become better people and whatever makes us sin get rid of it. God will do anything for us but first we need to quit sinning.
In today’s Gospel, I think Jesus is telling us that, not only should we ourselves avoid sin, and seek penance and forgiveness for the sins we have committed, I think he is also telling us that it is worse for us to lead others to sin than it is to lead ourselves to it, we receive punishment for our own sin, but our punishment is greater if we lead others to take an action that is not right. We are God’s children, and we must stick together to remain in grace.
In this scripture, Jesus is telling us to try our best to not sin at all. To cut off all temptations that the devil is using to get to us, we must fight it. After all, God never promised us a life without any suffering. Jesus knows when we are trying our best, and Jesus is always right by our side walking with us and leading us through the right path, to get us to heaven.
I think it means that we need to take the sacrifices that result in good. We sometimes do sacrifices that result in no good and we need to avoid that or our lives will be full of sin.
This scripture is telling me that we need to stop sinning. We need to do whatever we can to stop sinning. Jesus tells us to cut off our hand if it causes us to sin. It is better to enter the Kingdom of God with one hand than to be thrown into Gahenna. This tells me we need to stop sinning.
Today’s Gospel is about sin, and what leads us too it. It’s very strange that Jesus talkes more about sin and Hell than anyone else in the bible, nobody else even comes close to talking about the consequences of our sin more than Jesus, why does he put such an emphasis on Hell and sin. Well i believe it’s because Sin and Hell is his opposite. Jesus wants us to be with him in eternity, not in this world of sin and suffering. Not in this dirty, grimy world that has very little redemption left. He wants us in the world because He is the thing we should want, not any of this world garbage. This world will die, he will not, the decision is yours as who you want to follow
In today’s scripture God tells us to do whatever it takes to avoid sin. We need to always try our best to avoid since because our reward is Heaven. We all want to go to Heaven because it is internal life and who doesn’t want that? Most of us sin everyday, but we all want to go Heaven, but we know that if we sin we won’t go to Heaven. I haven’t really thought of it this way but it really got me thinking. I want to go to Heaven and have internal life, but I still sin almost everyday.
When Jesus says “Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him if a great millstone were put around his neck and he were thrown into the sea.”, He is saying that it is better to not believe than to make other people not believe. If you don’t believe in something then it only affects you but if you convince someone else to not believe in that same thing then it affects both of you. You should bring other people to the truth but if what you believe in isn’t true then it would be better if you don’t convince the people who do believe in the truth to disbelieve.
I think its saying that we just need to let go and give ourselves to God. Also we need to resist temptation and be ready for when the Lord is coming.
We have to cut off the source of our sin. You need to listen to this gospel and then act on it. We hear Jesus telling us to pluck out our eye, or cut off our hand. We don’t need to literally do that but we do need to find another way to stop us from being tempted. We can delete the app on our phone that makes us sin. Or we can stop hanging out with bad friends.
In the Gospel passage today, I think God is trying to tell me that whatever is causing me to sin, get rid of it. “If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed than with two hands to go into Gehenna.” This is an example of what I think He is trying to tell us. If our hand is causing us to sin, cut it off. So if our friends or anybody else are causing us to sin, talk to other people. People that make you feel like you’re not lame or boring if you don’t want to do something sinful. If social media is causing you to sin then delete it or get off your device and go pray or read the Bible. The point is God wants us to stop sinning, or to at least try our best to stop sinning, and we can’t do that if we have things or people tempting us in our daily lives and leading us to sin.
“What? If I sin I need to cut off my hand, foot, and pluck out my eye? Excuse me?!” No, that’s not what He’s telling you. Not literally anyway. If you sin using certain things like your hands, feet, and eyes, then you should limit you temptation to sin. If you sin because of your phone, put filters or time restrictions. It’s better to go to heaven without sin and to live a happy life, than to follow our human pleasures and sin, lest we go to hell.
In today’s Gospel Jesus is trying to help us avoid sin. “If your hand causes you to sin cut it off.” Jesus is trying to help us avoid this temptation so we can spend Eternal life with Him in Heaven. Jesus knows how great the award of Heaven is so He’s trying to help us avoid this.
In today’s Gospel, when he says “If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed than with two hands to go into Gehenna, into the unquenchable fire.”
This told me that God really cared for us, so much that to help us get to heaven he’d be willing to cut off all sin no matter the pain, and that we should be the same too, but maybe not to the point of actually cutting off sin. Maybe by deleting apps that are making you stress and even more broken. It also reminded me that we need to suffer to get to God, just like he said, cut off your hand if it’s causing you to sin. So we need to take some time off of what is causing this.
So, if our friends or anybody else are causing us to sin, talk to other people.
Today’s scripture reflects on how sin is trying to prevent us from getting to heaven. We shouldn’t give in to the devil and carry out our temptations. We need to be humble and kind to reach heaven where our Father is waiting for us. Jesus saved us but should we repay Him by sinning again. No. I am a sinner myself, as we all are, but we really do need to try. We need to try for Jesus, for our family, and our friends. Being a good example will let others follow. If someone asks, “how are you such a good person?” or “you are such an inspiration to me!”. Being that good person and inspiration comes from Jesus. He is the great example we need to follow.
Sorry made a mistake. *We shouldn’t repay Him by sinning again.*
This scripture is saying that you need to stop sinning no matter what to get to eternal life in heaven with him.and also to just fully take the temptation to sin out of our life.
I think God is trying to tell us that we need to help others stop sinning but that means that we need to stop sinning.
He says that whatever causes us to sin to get it out of our life. We don’t need to cut off our hand or poke out our eye. But then try and make sure to take whatever is causing you to sin out of your life. We can’t keep doing the same sin over and over.
God is telling us to get rid of whatever it is that is causing us to sin. If my phone is whats causing me to sin, maybe not get rid of it but do good things with it instead.
What Jesus is trying to tell us is that he is trying to cut off every part or temptation of sin. He is trying to get a better relationship with us and we need to do everything we can to get that better relationship.
In this Scripture passage Jesus says, “If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed than with two hands to go into Gehenna.” If there is something that causes you to sin or something that you sin with, you need to get rid of it right away. If its not there than you won’t sin with that thing. Unless the thing that is causing you to sin is you conscious and what you are thinking he is not telling you to just kill yourself to get rid of it.
What I think this scripture is saying is that stay holy and try not to sin because others are. You don’t have to be like others be yourself and don’t sin because others are do whats right and worship the Lord and praise him.
When Jesus said that if your foot is causing you to sin then cut it off, if your eye is causing you to sin pluck it out. But he does not mean this literally. What he is trying to say is that if there is something in your life that is causing you to sin then you need to get rid of it. Because if you have less of what is making you sin then the less you will sin.
In this reading Jesus is saying to get rid of what causes us to sin. If you don’t get rid of it you will continue to sin over and over again. We need to keep ourselves away from sin instead of ignoring the sin.
Jesus tells us to do whatever we can to fight sin. When he says to cut off your hand or pluck out your eye, he doesn’t mean it literally. He means that whatever is causing you to sin, you should cut off from your life.
In today’s Gospel Jesus is helping us, to stay away from sin and to avoid it. He says to cut your hand off or pluck your eye out if its causes you to sin, He saying to do your best to avoid it, so we can see him in heaven
Jesus is trying to tell us not to sin and we need to get rid of of everything that has temptation for us to sin. Jesus is trying to get a better relationship with us and we need to realize that.
In today’s Gospel Jesus is being very intense with the way he wants us to deal with our sin. But if you stop and think about it every thing he said could be applied to our lives. There are many thing we do that can cause us to sin, for example, things on the internet. So to over come that sin we can limit our time on social media or just not use it at all. I think that is what Jesus meant in today’s Gospel.
Today’s gospel is helping us to stop sinning so often. Its also showing that Jesus is forgiving and will forgive us if we just pray and talk to him about our sins. He is always reaching out for us trying to help us get to Heaven. Whatever is making us sin so much, we should definitely get rid of and cut bad habits no matter how hard it would be.
If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. And if your foot causes you to sin, cut if off. And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. These three things are basically saying if there is something in your life causing you to sin and you notice it, get rid of it. But if you don,t notice try to look out for things that cause you to sin. We will be tempted to sin but God sent his only son Jesus Christ to die for all of our sins so even if we do fail and keep sinning that he will forgive us.
This Scripture is saying to me that I’m holding on way too hard to physical things. I need to realize that these physical things are only with me for a limited amount of time and the Spiritual Gifts are forever. I think Jesus was so straight-forward and blunt in saying this because he wants us to realize how serious He is and that he really means it when he says to cut all sources of sin out of your life. He didn’t make us with the intent for us to all sin and go to Hell. He wants us to get to Heaven, so when He gives us a message as clear as this one we need to take it seriously and apply it to our lives.
I think that this reading has a very relevant meeting in today’s world. When you first read it you most likely think that Jesus is just being Mr. Crazy Cuckoo Head but He is actually sharing a words that can be very helpful in this day and age. Basically what this scripture passage is saying is that you should stop using what ever leads you to sin, “Cut it off.” A very easy example of this is with your phone or other electronics. If you know that when you are using your phone, that you are extra mean or moody, or if whenever you are on it, that you are tempted to look at impure things, then just stop using it. It is that simple. In this scenario your phone is your “foot that causes you to sin” so, just cut it off. That doesn’t mean get a huge saw and saw your phone in half, it means that you just don’t allow yourself to use it. If you never let yourself be in situations where it is very easy to sin, then it is much easier to stay holy and in the state of grace.
In today’s Gospel it is teaching us when we sin there is a consequence. The Lord is trying to help us not sin by teaching us to go to mass on Sunday, and He is teaching us how to pray. Jesus says “If your hand is making you sin cut it off.” What he means by that is when we die we will be judged and most of us want to go to Heaven, so what we need to do to get their is start following the Lord’s steps and start to pray.
In today’s Scripture passage it’s telling us that we all need to try our hardest to avoid sin. If we keep sinning it will lead us further and further away from God. He wants us to have eternal life with Him and if we do too, then we need to stop sinning and become a better person. We are all tempted by the devil and sin because he doesn’t want us to have a relationship with God and have eternal life. All we need to do what’s best for ourselves, which is to ignore the temptations. We just have to go on living our best life possible.
As I take myself back to that synagogue I would start to ask myself at that moment maybe he is telling the truth. Next to me my people would say this is blasphemy. Now I would like to join the crowd but what if it is true. God isn’t only revealing himself to us today he is giving us a chance. A chance to believe. Even today that offer is still on the table. It is just waiting there for the truth about this man that claims to be the alpha and the omega. (Yahweh) Now would you believe it or would you fade back into the crowd to keep your name high. Sure it might keep your reputation but in Heaven no one is higher than God.
To me this is God trying to tell us that we need to stop sinning and disobeying God. Every time we sin it is hurting God and closing the door to Heaven.
The Gospel is telling us that if something of your body or a computer screen or something like that than to stop using that device or hand or foot and to go away from that and try something else and get better at it so you will not sin as much and be a better kind of person that you can be and to specialize in that.
“Everyone will be salted with fire. Salt is good, but if salt becomes insipid, with what will you restore its flavor? Keep salt in yourselves and you will have peace with one another.” Ok, I took me way too long to realise that the salt is metophorical. Anyway, I’m pretty sure the salt means either sin or conscience. Maybe the salt becoming insipid is you being tempted. I might be looking into it way too much, but I like the idea.
The scripture is saying if you sin cut off what causes you to sin because it is better to live a life without an arm or leg than to live with a bunch of sins. If you have a lot of sins then you are living a life without God.
This scripture means that if something causes us to sin block it off. If you want to stop sinning stop it at the source.
God wants us to stay away from whatever is causing us to sin, no matter how important we think it is. God wants us to do whatever we can to not sin.
I think that this scripture is trying to tell us that we should know what leads us to sin and how to avoid it. Things that can lead us to sin such as social media, songs with inappropriate lyrics, television, and even friends. The Ten Commandments are our guide to heaven, as long as we follow them and obey god, we will be able to live an eternal life with God.
What I think that this scripture is saying is that if there is something that keeps causing us to sin we should get rid of it. Just as it says, “If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off.” and “And if your foot causes you to sin, cut if off.” it is like what it says here. If there is something that is causing you to sin, try and get rid of it. Like it says If your hand causes you to sin cut it off. If your hand causes you to sin you just get rid of it. If something else is causing you to sin try and get rid of it.
je sus sakfis him self fof us and every one for ar sins
I think that scripture is trying to say that if some part of your body is leading you to do immoral things cut it off or in other words don’t allow it to. Believe in yourself and in God that if you would like to stop a bad habit pray about it and practice not doing it.
The Gospel is saying that we should avoid sin. Sin will turn us away from God. We have to resist the temptation to sin. When we try our hardest not to sin we will know on judgment day how hard we tried.
I think that this Gospel means that we should, 1. Do everything in our power to prevent ourselves from sinning, 2. Don’t cause innocent people to sin, 3. To treat everyone and everything with kindness, and 4. Try as hard as we can to make sure that we keep the peace between ourselves, Jesus, and others. We need to remember JOY. Jesus, Others, Yourself. When we follow this rule, we make sure that the amount of temptation goes down, and we stay on the PATH. This is what we need to remember. We can’t let ourselves get carried away by the things of this world. The things that we have now aren’t going to come to Heaven with us, so why are we so attached to them? I myself have the fault of not wanting to give away any of my things, even the things that I don’t use anymore, simply because they’re mine. And I don’t want anybody else to have them. And yet, when I think about it, and I choose to give my own things away, it’s a lot easier, because I’ve thought about it and I’ve realized that they don’t really matter. We all need to remember this, and make sure that we live our life by God’s rules, and not by this world’s rules.
In today’s scripture God is telling us to not sin he want’s us to come back to him with brokenness so he can fix us if anything is causing you to sin don’t literally cut it off. Don’t use it in the bad way’s you have been doing it with so we can have life in heaven with God.
This scripture today has many powerful meanings. This scripture today is talking about being drawn to sin and the multiple consequences that come with. We always need to try to get rid of the things in our homes and life that keep causing us to fall away and sin. It may be the hardest thing you have ever done, but it will lead us to the greatest reward. Always remember that Jesus loves us so very much and can’t wait for us to see him one day.
This gospel is telling us about sin. Sin is a very horrible thing it is a temptation controlled by the devil. People sometimes say that its not their fault that they sin. But i reality it is because your the one that is sinning there is a way to control our sin and that God. By reading the bible praying the rosary or just talking to God. That hurts the devil, because he hates when you talk to God. So we need to stay away from sin and be more with God.
In the Gospel today Jesus said “And if your foot causes you to sin, cut if off.” This is telling me whatever or whoever is causing me to sin that I should get rid of it,stop hanging out with them for a while, or just take a break.
What I think the Gospel is saying today is that whatever causes you to sin get rid of it. If something is causing you to sin you don’t need them. Really all of this is just about getting to Heaven. If there is something that is keeping us away from Heaven why do we need it? Well we don’t need it so that is why God is telling us to get rid of it.
This Gospel is telling me that we need to do anything in our power to stop from sinning. In our modern world and thousands of years ago people also sinned and even though everyone does it we need to still try to stop. To get to heaven we need to try to be as clean as we can be (spiritually.) We will never know when Jesus’s second coming will be, but it could possibly be in just a few hours from now. We need to be clean because we never will know when there won’t be another day. I learned that I need to prepare myself for heaven and stop sinning the most as I can.
In today’s Gospel talks about sin he say’s that if your toe commits a sin chop it off. If your eye makes you sin pluck it out. He just saying if anything make you sin you just stop doing that is what chop it off means. Finally God goes not fear sin so why should we God made us out of his sin that why we should not be afraid.
I think the scripture is telling us whatever we are using for sin, cut it off. Not literally of course. Whatever you are using for sin, get rid of it. You will be one step closer to going to heaven.
