Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
At that time Jesus left [Samaria] for Galilee.
For Jesus himself testified
that a prophet has no honor in his native place.
When he came into Galilee, the Galileans welcomed him,
since they had seen all he had done in Jerusalem at the feast;
for they themselves had gone to the feast.
Then he returned to Cana in Galilee,
where he had made the water wine.
Now there was a royal official whose son was ill in Capernaum.
When he heard that Jesus had arrived in Galilee from Judea,
he went to him and asked him to come down
and heal his son, who was near death.
Jesus said to him,
“Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will not believe.”
The royal official said to him,
“Sir, come down before my child dies.”
Jesus said to him, “You may go; your son will live.”
The man believed what Jesus said to him and left.
While the man was on his way back,
his slaves met him and told him that his boy would live.
He asked them when he began to recover.
They told him,
“The fever left him yesterday, about one in the afternoon.”
The father realized that just at that time Jesus had said to him,
“Your son will live,”
and he and his whole household came to believe.
Now this was the second sign Jesus did
when he came to Galilee from Judea. JN 4:43-54
Today, we learn that Jesus’s Words are life-giving. This story is very similar to the Centurion’s servant in the other Gospels. It is through the belief of the royal official and the Centurion that Jesus can heal with His Words. Today, priests say the words of Jesus to heal, to consecrate the Eucharist, to baptize and bring the Good News to all nations. Following Jesus’s Words has great benefits. Jesus has the words of everlasting life. His Words are Truth. His Words guide us and give us purpose. His Words are life-giving, when you teach them or share them with others you are giving them God’s life, His grace.
Jesus’s Words are worth waking up early to read, to give us direction for our day, and give us the right perspective (change the way we think; metanoia-repent). They remind us to serve and not to be served. They remind us to be thankful instead of complain. They remind us to praise and worship God for giving us another day to live and bring the Good News to others. They remind us that if we suffer, Christ is with us in our suffering. They remind us that when we sin, Christ is love and mercy, head bent to kiss us, arms spread open ready to bring us back into God’s grace. They remind us that Mary is the most sure path to her Son, we must devote ourselves to her to draw ourselves closer to Christ. They remind us that we are to put on the armor of God and fight Satan (sin) and grow closer to Christ in holiness living out our baptismal vows. During Lent especially, but every day they remind us that Jesus gave up His life, so that we could have new life, a life with the Father in heaven, eternal life.
Today’s challenge: Take time to reflect on the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of Christ. Never leave the Words of Jesus, they are life-giving. The words on Netflix, social media, in our music, and the Internet do not give life unless they are the words of Jesus. Bring Christ into these media. This shows us that if we want God in our life we have to believe in him.
Today the scripture is telling me that we are a people so stubborn that we need miracles to believe. Facts aren’t enough. We need something different than what we hear every day. That can be a problem for people in the Catholic faith. Those things that make up our faith are the things that we do every day and become just a thing we do, like walking. We need to see each thing that happens at mass as something miraculous.
“Your son will live,” and he and his whole household came to believe. Now this was the second sign Jesus did when he came to Galilee from Judea.” Though some of them believed, they needed a sign to convince everyone. The man had such great faith, that Jesus healed his son, which brought others to believe in Jesus.
Jesus can work miracles if we pray for them. We have to pray for them and believe in them if we want them to work though. Jesus can do anything but it might not be what you want but it’s what you need because God has a plan and it’s the best thing for us.
I think this is saying that we should focus on God above other things. We need to praise him and worship him instead of praising false ideas.
This scripture is saying that God is always by our side and he will always come back to us no matter how much we push him away from us. Even if we chose the opposite of God he will always love us and wait for us to come back to him in hope.
When God has the power to change things into the better He will make it for our own good. God is truly amazing and wants our best, we shall give it to Him for His recognition of us being in tune with our faith.
In todays gospel God is telling me the everyone these days needs to see to believe, God tells us that we need to believe when we hear his word. We need to believe it is true every time we hear it.
The scripture said, “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will not believe.” I think that we should strive to trust and believe in Jesus without any sign. We should have faith in God no matter what we have seen. If we truly trust in God fully anything is possible, he can do anything for us.
This Gospel is another example of God’s power. Jesus was able to do what he did with the Roman Centurion’s servant: He healed the boy right as he spoke. God’s power extends everywhere.
God has the power only if we listen to him.
What I learned from this gospel is that we should be thankful for God and what he had done for us. We need to thank God and acknowledge the things he has done for all of us. He has done so much things for us that we don’t even know and we need to thank him for that. We need to show that we appreciate the things he does to us and we need to give back.
Today’s gospel helps us realize the impact that Jesus really did have on the world. After all, He made it possible for us to get to Heaven. That’s the most important thing in life, to work to achieve Eternal Life with Jesus Christ.
The man went to Jesus for Jesus to heal his son. The man believed in Jesus and had asked him for him to heal his son. Jesus said that his son will live. The man didn’t have to believe him. He could have made Jesus come to his house and heal the boy. But instead he believed in Jesus, went back home and his son was heald. We need to be the man in this story. The man trusted Jesus. We need to give everything to God and trust him.
Many people today do not believe unless they see. They want proof and evidence that something exist rather than to believe by word. Yet there are so many signs, the people still do not believe! Seeing is not believing. Blessed are they who have not seen and believe, for their reward will be great in Heaven.
Jesus said their son would be healed and they believed in him. Because of their faith in Jesus, their son was healed by Jesus. We must believe in Jesus and we will be healed in our soul.
What reached out to me was when it said, “where he had made the water wine”. What this means to me is that anything is possible with God. No matter how hard we struggle if we go to God he can always make things better.
¨ Why do you not want to trust God all the time?¨ It says in the scripture“The fever left him yesterday, about one in the afternoon.”The father realized that just at that time Jesus had said to him,“Your son will live,”and he and his whole household came to believe. Now this was the second sign Jesus did when he came to Galilee from Judea. ¨ We need to trust God, for he can heal anything, anyone, anywhere. If God can heal the sick , so can God heal our suffering.
This scripture is saying like how Jesus is so powerful just by his voice and that we can do the same by trying to bring other to the church Jesus just healed by voice and we can bring more into heaven by bring other closer with Jesus.
This scripture is saying that God can do anything. His words can create life. His words are the Truth. If we take time to listen to Him. We might be shown a new way of life.
This scripture reminds us of how Jesus keeps his word. It also reminds us of how amazing he is. Someone asked for Jesus to heal his son, but since he didn’t see Jesus’ miracles before, Jesus said he didn’t believe. Jesus healed his son anyway.
I think this scripture is saying, we need to believe in Jesus. If Jesus is telling you to go on the path you don’t want to, trust him and you will be happy. My favorite line from the passage is,“Sir, come down before my child dies.” Jesus said to him, “You may go; your son will live.” The man believed what Jesus said to him and left.”
You should believe in Jesus. He can do many wonderful things for you.
This scripture shows us that Jesus is a life giver, He gives us life not just physically but spiritually. Jesus is so merciful that he heals us even though we may be too broken to stand.
Today it is about how we can help others by talking to them and saying good things about them and raise them up and heal them with our words to make them have a better day.
In the Gospel Jesus heals someone with his words. Jesus will lead us with his words. We need to calm down and listen to God and what he’s saying. If we’re in a tough situation we can talk to God and he’ll help us and help heal us.
Jesus will help you if you have faith in him he wants you to pray to him because you love him and not because you want some thing from him. Jesus loves each and every one of us and will provide for us when we need him but we still need faith.
Jesus is all might even by saying a simple phrase. He will do this unto you if you believe in him, his father, and the holy spirit. The hard part is keeping faith, but if you do you will be rewarded with heaven.
In today’s reading ““Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will not believe.” stuck out to me. Because it makes perfect since. We as human couldn’t believe in anything without seeing signs and we have trouble believing in Christ. But we are also great believers because of what why cant see.
Jesus’Words are worth waking up early to read. We should listen to God because it can change our life in a positive way.
Today Jesus heels someone when He was nowhere near them. That should be a sign to us that even when we feel far away from Jesus we can still ask for help. No matter if we are a sinner or not God will help us the same. Jesus loves us no matter what, so he will help us no matter what.
Jesus will heal us. Jesus heals by His word today. just like how Jesus heals this boy so does He heal our sins. Jesus wants us to have a healthy spiritual life. Sin kills us but Jesus will always be there to heal us.
In today’s scripture we see Jesus healing the broken without even touching them. Jesus speaks with them and tells them to be healed in the name of God. We all need to try harder to take time for God because there is so much proof He is real. He takes time for us and we should do the same for Him.
Today’s Gospel is telling me that Jesus words are life giving.
Jesus performed a miracle. And then a family believed in him. The belief of Jesus is wonderful. Jesus healed with his words. I feel like that resembles saying something nice to someone can change their whole day.
If we believe, our God will give to us. He will guide us and forgive us always. We need His grace and His acceptance. Even if you do not think God is listening to you, He is. He knows your true calling and will guide you to eternal life.
Nothing is greater than God. He turned plain water into good wine. No magic or tricks, that was the power of God.
What stood out to me was, “You may go; your son will live.” It stood out to me because everyone lives with God. If you stay with God you will live until your time is up. God will help you through your hard times and times that are never okay. God will always be there for you.
I think that this is telling us that we should believe that Jesus will help us.
This piece of Scripture is telling me that what Jesus says is. He has the power to perform miracles, it’s in His Divine nature. If Jesus says that someone is healed, they are healed. Jesus can make anything happen.
We need to trust God. The royal official begged Jesus to heal his son, and when Jesus told him his son would live, the official immediately believed him and went home. Because he believed, his son was saved. Trust in God, he will do what is best for you.
I think this scripture is saying that if we listen to God’s word. They give us purpose and a way of life. They remind us to love our neighbor and praise Jesus every day.
I think today’s scripture passage is trying to tell us that we need to spread the words of God. It is also saying that we should be thankful and not complain.
what the scripture is telling me is that whatever Jesus is telling us is true and he never lied. whatever he preformed would be true to His word.
This scripture is good the way I think of it is if you are thinking is something bad you can ask God to help you change your mindset. if you are making fun of people ask God to help you. He will understand and he will help if you are struggling.
“Sir, come down before my child dies.” “Jesus said to him, “You may go; your son will live.” this is what sucked out to me. God can heal other people with his words. You can ask God for help but you have to have faith in God. Be with Jesus Christ all the way.
In Scripture, Jesus heals a sick child. His father believed that what Jesus said. God’s words change reality. He said his son would live and he did. We need to truly believe in God. He can grant us a miracle if we truly believe in God and His words.
This Scripture really reminds me of how Jesus really wants us to be with us, but we don’t let him sometimes. But then, I am also reminded of how Jesus always forgives, and keeps trying to be near us. It reminds me of how no matter what I do, Jesus will always love and care for me.
I think this scripture is saying that God can do anything he can to heal the sick he raises the dead we just have to ask.
God tells us that he is always by our side and will be with us no matter what. He also says that no matter what we do He will still come to us and comfort us so we can get closer to Him.
God is saying that you can go out and not worry about your son he will be ok.
In today’s Gospel, I feel like I am being told that we need more people to see that people need to believe more than most people do these days. Without Him, we are nothing. Most people think they can live without Him, but that’s completely false. That’s why God still guides them even when they don’t notice.
This scripture is telling me to believe. We are do not believe unless we see a miracle ourselves. We must believe in the scripture or Jesus’s words.
The scripture is saying that God is always with us and he will never leave our sides. God loves us so much and he will always be there to help us. We don’t think God is by our sides because we can’t see him but really he is always there.
I think that this Scripture passage is telling me to believe. No matter what else we think will make us happy, the only thing that will truly makes us happy and keep us happy is God and His love.
In this Gospel, I got that Jesus is always on our side and will never leave our side. He will always come back no matter how much we avoid him or how much we push him away from our life and use Him as a slot machine.
Jesus’ word is life. He can do anything. Save the sick. Bring back the dead. And yet, people still didn’t believe Him and persecuted Him. But those who did believe without requiring a sign will be rewarded. He is always with you and always loves you. He will help you if it be in His will.
In this scripture, Jesus tells the man that his son will live, and the man chose to believe in Jesus. On the way back home, the man’s servants tells him that his son will live, and had gotten better when Jesus had told the man that his son will live. From then on, the man’s family believed in Jesus. This tells us that we need to believe in Jesus and have faith in him.
Jesus will always love you and care for you. No matter how strong your sins are, no matter how much you reject him, no matter how many things you put before him, no matter what you do to hurt him, he will ALWAYS love you like a son. His love is never ending and will overwhelm you and your sin. There is no sin/sins that are too great for God to heal.
Today, Jesus heals a child who is in dire need, and he isn’t even present to the child. He uses his power and his grace to heal this child without even being there, that’s the power of Jesus
Today when Jesus tells the man that his child will live “The man believed what Jesus said to him and left.” We need to learn to believe like him. He had not yet seen that his kid was fine, but he trusted what Jesus said anyway. When he got back he saw that his son was fine, but he believed that it would happen ever since Jesus told him. We need to be able to believe in Jesus without a sign, and then we can start to see the effect of God in our lives.
The scripture today tells us that we can’t only believe in something just because we’ve seen in or witnessed it. The man believed that Jesus healed his son and went back to his house in faith. He could’ve questioned Jesus and asked Him to come with him, but he trusted and believed in His words. There is a lot of proof of why we believe in our faith, but the core is faith. We have to believe in the Eucharist, in going to mass, in Jesus.
Jesus heals because the man did 2 things. 1 he asked Jesus for his son to be healed. 2 he believed Jesus could heal him. Because of this Jesus healed his son just by his words from far away. Jesus has the power to help you. Ask Jesus for a miracle, or ask him for something simple like staying focused during your homework.
I think that this scripture is telling me that we just need to believe in God and he will give his life back to us. We pray to him for others and he gives us eternal life in heaven where we can do anything imaginable.
True faith is what our relationship with God is. There are no signs, visual proof that we have seen Jesus in real life, he is in our hearts always with us, talking to us, in our faith. Just because you do not visually see of touch something does not mean it is not real.
Today’s scripture shows us that belief is what healed the boy. It was the man’s trust in Jesus that the boy healed. Jesus’s words were healing in this scripture because His words are life-giving. He is so merciful, humble, and kind to save us sinners.
What I think this is saying is that God will always live. He will live no matter how many people believe in him or worship him he will live. He is greater than anything on this planet and in the world. He is the reason we are here.
Jesus says that we do not believe unless we see. But that’s when faith comes in. Faith is believing in something that you can’t see. We need to believe and have faith in God.
Today’s gospel helps us realize the impact that Jesus really did have on the world. After all, He made it possible for us to get to Heaven. That is the most important thing in life, to work to achieve Eternal Life with Jesus Christ.
As humans sometimes we do not believe until we see. But we can not do that, as Christians because we can not see God but we know that he is always with us no matter what.
God knows what is good for us and what is not so when we ask for a miracle if He knows if you need it or not he will grant that miracle.
When Jesus told the man that he could go and that his son will live. The man believed Jesus. We need to believe in Jesus and trust that he can help us through things and give us miracles.
I think that this Gospel reading is Jesus teaching about faith. The man who asked Jesus to heal his son had complete faith in Jesus that he could heal his son. We need to have complete faith in God that He can heal us from our sins. All of us have committed sins that we do not deserve to have been forgiven for. We need to have faith that Jesus can heal us and that we can move on from our mistakes and continue to be Holy.
In today’s Gospel the scripture is telling me is that whatever Jesus is telling us is true and he never lied.
I think this scripture is talking about how we need to believe in Jesus because if we believe in him many wonderful things will happen in our lives that we would never believe would happen.
I think that this is saying that God is a little sad that we need proof to believe that He is real. I think that it’s saying that His word is enough and His word is enough, it’s just whether or not we choose to believe.
God’s word’s are powerful and they change reality. Today Jesus cures a sick child as a sign but also to show what happens when you believe.
In today’s Scripture Jesus heals a boy. He didn’t even know him or get to see the boy but He still healed him. Jesus knows us and He loves us even when we mess up and He is willing to heal us whenever we mess up just like He did with the little boy.
“When he came into Galilee, the Galileans welcomed him.” This line in the passage tells us and reminds us to welcome everyone that is new in our life. If you like them or don’t like them we still need to welcome everyone like they are family.
Something that stuck out to me on this Scripture passage was, “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will not believe.” Why are we so stubborn and stuck up that we think we deserve to have the God of Heaven and Earth prove Himself to us? We need to have faith. Jesus never did anything wrong. We are so disrespectful by asking for signs and messages. God has always been and always will be there for us, and we need to learn to appreciate Him instead of question Him.
The gospel today is telling me that we are people today who all don’t believe. For everyone in the world today to believe that there was a living God we need miracles or something religious to happened. We all need the Loud in our life. One day if we want to get to heaven then we need to believe and we need to pray. When we pray the Lord will answer our prayers.
This scripture is trying to teach us that God will never abandon us and anything is possible with him no matter how big or small it is anything is possible with him and his love is far greater than that.
The Scripture is telling us today to have faith. Believe what God says. God speaks the truth not lies. Lies come from the devil.
i think this scripture means that we should always trust in God and his power. if we trust in him we will be rewarded.
jesus is ter wen you ar doing somthing rong but allwas frgave you
I think the scripture is telling us that we have to be able to believe in Jesus without expecting anything. When we expect nothing getting something feels even better, but not getting anything is still expected. I think we need to do the same thing with each other as well.
If we want God to be with us, we need to pull our focus on Him. Not on anything else, just Him. Now yes, He does love us, but that doesn’t mean we can gloss over Him. Focus on God.
This scripture teaches us that we need to believe even if we don’t see a sign. I think that in today’s modern world if we see an image or a sign per say, then we believe. Faith means to believe in something without knowing every single detail. That is what I learned from today’s gospel.
The first thing that caught my eye in this scripture was that prophets have no honor in their native land and everyone probably thinks that prophets are gonna be great to their people and help them grow closer to God and pour out everything for them, But no they really aren’t, there just some ordinary guy that was picked by God to go out and do his work.
Today’s scripture reflection has many powerful meanings. I think the scripture today is telling us that God is truly always with us if we believe he is. He will never leave our sides no matter if we don’t think he is with us or if we can’t hear him talking to us. God loves us so much and he will always be there for us and to help us. If you think he isn’t there, he is. We get into the habit of thinking God isn’t by our sides because we can never see him but really he is always there. If you can’t see him, you probably need to open your eyes because he is everywhere. The grass he created so he is there. Every single thing he created he is there with it or them.
I think the Scripture is saying we have to trust in Jesus. We have to trust Him because Jesus is always with us. Jesus is always on our side.We have to trust that Jesus will do many things for us. Jesus gives His all to make sure we feel happy and loved. When we sin Jesus still loves us.
I think that this scripture is trying to tell us that we often put social media and television before God. We make them seem more important than him. Downloading Catholic apps on our phones will help take away the time that we spend distracted from God and turn it into time we pray to God.
“Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will not believe.” That’s what Jesus said to the royal official. After Jesus healed the royal official’s son, they started to believe in God. We should believe even without being given a sign or miracle.
I think this gospel is about faith. Faith is a powerful thing because it says that you truly believe in something. And you think its right. We need to have that mindset with God. We need to have faith in him always and listen to what he says, he is the creator you and everything. So why not listen? Its not a bad thing to have faith in God but one day you need to realize that he is your savoir.
I think what the Gospel is telling me is that we need to believe. I feel like some people don’t believe things unless something good happens out of it. I think God is telling us to believe and trust in him.
In today’s Scripture a man walks up to Jesus and asks him to heal his son. Jesus offers not to go, saying “Your son will live,”
and he and his whole household came to believe.
Now this was the second sign Jesus did
when he came to Galilee from Judea.” This tells me that if you believe in God your soul will live holy.
The one thing that caught my eye in this scripture is that prophets don’t take honor in their native land, I think Catholics in todays life thinks that prophets were perfect in everyway and would do everything to help their people and to bring them closer to their God.
Okay, to be fair, I don’t know what to say. Like I acually don’t. I don’t know why. I just can’t.
I think this scripture passage is trying to tell us to trust God. He has given us multiple reasons to. Jesus said someone was healed and they were healed. If that is not enough proof than I don’t know what is.
To me this mean that God is saying that God trying to tell us that He would save no matter what or if anything happens he would always be their for us to comfort us.
To me this means that God is telling us that we can go and that he will take the blame. It reminds me a lot of the Barabbas story with Jesus and Barabbas story.
Today’s Scripture passage is saying that in order to believe in the Living God, we have to have faith in Him. We have know that He is there with us even if we can’t see Him. It can be hard to believe sometimes, but having the knowledge we have about our faith, we are able to know that God’s Word is true. By having a strong belief in our Heavenly Father will help us have eternal life with Him.
God will always give us what we need but we have to let Him into our lives and trust in Him completely.
Many people don’t believe because they want proof even though we have so much proof of Jesus Christ being the son of God and we need to start believing before its too late. Jesus will come again and on that day we will be judged and when we get judged we want to believe and be with Jesus for eternal life.
