Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary.

Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when he had finished,
one of his disciples said to him,
“Lord, teach us to pray just as John taught his disciples.”
He said to them, “When you pray, say:

Father, hallowed be your name,
your Kingdom come.
Give us each day our daily bread
and forgive us our sins
for we ourselves forgive everyone in debt to us,
and do not subject us to the final test.”  Lk 11:1-4

Jesus models prayer for us today.  If Jesus finds it important to pray as God in the flesh to the Father, then we should value prayer as a top priority, too.   Most importantly, I personally believe it is impossible to get to heaven without prayer.  If heaven is your goal, I suggest you pray.  Yesterday, as St. Francis of Asissi had his feast day, he loved to pray.  He was torn between a life of solitude in prayer and being out in the streets preaching the Good News.  Start making prayer a habit.  It is difficult to pray so expect obstacles.  You are used to obstacles in school with homework, sports, video games, friendships, etc. Don’t allow the Devil’s voices in your head to stop you from talking to your Creator and Savior.  Persevere in prayer.  Set an alarm on your phone to pray at the same time in the same place.  Jesus, as He is dying on the cross, said, “I thirst”.  He thirsts to this day with open arms waiting to for you to speak to Him about anything.  Talk to Him like you are texting a friend. Humble yourself by getting down on your knees before Him on the crucifix.  Jesus died to get to know you personally.  He is waiting in our tabernacles and adoration chapels with great patience ready to love and forgive.  Prayer is where we find out who we are and who God is.  It is where we find our purpose, our vocation to priesthood, religious life, or who we will marry!  It is where we find our true self, the best version which God created for a purpose.  We become saints when we live that best version to glorify God who creates all and gives all the gift of life.

Our Father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name (I come before you humbly as a sinner who needs your mercy to worship, adore, glorify, praise, and thank you, God the Father thank you for allowing me to call you Father and thank you for calling me son)

thy kingdom come, thy Will be done on earth as it is in heaven (I submit my will to you.  I am your instrument use me however you see fit.  Please give me courage, strength, and grace to do your will.)

give us this day our daily bread (God, thank you for taking care of our every need.  I trust in you.)

and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us (God teach me to forgive as you have forgiven me, help me not to judge and label, please have mercy on my soul)

and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen

Today’s challenge: Make prayer a habit.  Heaven is not attainable without it.

Be a servant, become a saint!
