“FOR BEHOLD, THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS AMONG YOU.” LK 17:20-25

Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.

Prayer Prompt before reading LK 17:20-25: Come, Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray, interpret the Scriptures for me so that I may know the Truth about who God the Father and God the Son are so that I may know who I am.

Jesus answers a question today that is always a heavy topic, when will God’s Kingdom come. Jesus answers, “For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.”  He also remarks, “But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation.” Finally, in MT 20:28 Jesus says, “Lo, I am with you always to the end of the age.”

What does this mean?  We can live our lives thinking about God in two ways.  One, He is an old man really far away sitting on a cloud (not personal or present).  Or two, which is what Jesus is teaching us today; He is present right now (Jesus is God speaking right to the Pharisees) and he promises He will be with us always.  God is everywhere all of the time.

I can sit in silence and be with God. I teach every day 100 yards from the “Kingdom of God” on earth in the tabernacle and monstrance in perpetual adoration. Amazing! He continues to offer Himself up for us and stay with us. He is with us in prayer and when we say “Come, Holy Spirit”.

How do I know?  The Eucharist, the Blessed Sacrament, the Holy Spirit in all baptized people guiding the Church and us individually, in the sunrise and sunset, the mountains and oceans, the stars, moon, and sun.  Most importantly, because He said so and I believe and trust Him. Why do I believe and trust him, because I have spent hours talking and listening to Him. I have spent hours reading about him.

He died for me to show how much he loves me and showed me His love is radical. The only one way, the best way, to respond to this radical love is with radical love. Jesus said He must suffer greatly predicting His passion.  The Catholic Church had the end of the world pegged a long time ago.

The world ended when Jesus died on the cross and resurrected conquering sin and death. We no longer have to live with Original Sin, the gates of heaven are open. We have the Holy Spirit in us. We have God’s grace in the sacraments that Jesus set up while on earth.

We have the Eucharist and confession, prayer, as we wait for the Second Coming.  We do not have to remain in our sin. With the sacraments and other avenues of grace Jesus has won for us, judgment passes over us due to the sacrifice of His blood once for all. We are living in the end times with the power and opportunity to be holy today.  It lies within us.  Take time to sit in silence and listen!

Today’s challenge: Take time to pray and think about God not far away but right here with us always, it makes a huge difference in the way we view things and live our life!  God is with us, wow!  If you can wrap your mind around God’s true presence at Mass and in the Blessed Sacrament, you will be at peace and never want to leave.

Be a servant, be a saint today!

jesus wants us to get to heaven with Him. Today, he tells us that the only way to do so is to go against the flow of things, and to do things out of the ordinary. He tells the Pharisees that they have to reject themselves and to change. This is the only way to get into heaven. Jesus knows what is best for us. He wants us to be with Him. We must follow Him and listen to his word.

Today’s reflection tells us that God is always going to be here no matter the situation. He died for us, he loves us, he is our Father and we need to humbly submit our will to him. He is the reason we are here, and he is our creator and we need to thank him daily for what he has done to us. God is the one and only Father.

I think that God is trying to tell us that if you wait long enough then it will come just like how Jesus one day will come back and all save us again and that Jesus and God will always love you no matter what you ever do and they will also always be there forr you.

I think today gospel talks about how God is always with you. Whether you want him to be or not he is always there and he always loves you. This shows that he is always watching and you need to set a holy example and really contemplate your faith. God wants you to contemplate your faith to question it so you will come back and love him even more when you realize he is the only one that can save you.

In the Gospel it said that He died for me to show how much He loves me. To me this means that God and Jesus have literally all they could for us, God gave His only son and Jesus gave His life. They gave up everything so that we could live, and some day meat them again in heaven, that is true love. If that isn’t true love I don’t know what is, because They couldn’t give anymore than what they did.

Today God said that Heaven is invisible and you cant see it. He is saying that nobody is going to just tell you where heaven or how to get to it. Priests and teachers are here to guide us to Heaven but not to just let us get in. They give us the tools to get in to Heaven but we need to ask ourselves our we going to use these tools. We need to have a personal relationship with God and then He will lead us to Heaven.

“The coming of the Kingdom of God cannot be observed” this quote means that we can’t see the Kingdom of God by just living in the faith,we have to pray and worship the Lord our God so that he can show us how to see the Kingdom of God,and when we see the Kingdom of God we will find true happiness in God.

In the last line of today’s Gospel it says “But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation.” He is saying this to the Pharisees who were strong believers in the Jewish faith and believed that there would be a worldly king who would come take over the Roman empire. But saying this shows them that it will not be a worldly king but much better a spiritual king who has come to be our slave and die for us even if we do not accept it or reject Him.

“For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.”
these words stuck out to me because the kingdom
of God is with us every day and we need to get up

Today’s Gospel is about how the kingdom of God is always with us. While some may think that it is a far away place it is actually always with you. Jesus says in today’s Gospel that “For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.” this meaning that the kingdom of God is with us all the time and the gates are open while Jesus is waiting for us to join him.

Something that I got out of this was that we will never know whe Jesus is coming back, many people try to predict when it will happen, and look at all of the signs that are happening around the world but the problem is that Jesus isn’t going to come back when we want him to, he said that he will come like a thief in the night. So we should always be prepared for Jesus’ second coming, and act like today is the last. If somebody was to tell you that it is your last day here on this Earth what would you do? You would probably want to spend the whole day with your friends and family, and try to be the best version of yourself. Sadly people just think that Jesus isn’t coming back anytime soon, and they just say well tomorrow I will do it, tomorrow I will stop that addiction, yet some point in your life there will be no tomorrow, and once you can’t change what you have done is when you wish you could change all you have done, so always be prepared for Jesus to come back, because nobody knows when.

When Jesus said that ” the kingdom of Heaven is in you”. To me what this is a result of is that Heaven is a cup. I shiny bright white cup that glows everywhere you go. Whenever we sin the cup gets dust on it because we leave it out and not take care of it. The more we leave it out the more dirty it is going to get. When will we realize the fact that this is your home. Your home is dirty because people don’t take the time to clean it and never care for it. This is the problem with people’s addiction to screens, and other things that hurts us and God. God doesn’t need to see us have money, succession, fame, glory, power, athletic, and smart. He needs you the most. He needs you to clean that cup so that it is bright again. Doing the dishes is like confession, it’s when we are going to clean it and how we are going to clean it. It’s our soul that we are fighting for, it’s not our life. God needs our soul as much as we are longing for him. Never wait. Never stop. Never think about when you will clean that cup because that is the only thing that you have to get to heaven. Once again, Doing the dishes is like confession, it’s when we are going to clean it and how we are going to clean it.

I like the line “But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation.” I also liked how Mr. Goertz said the 2 ways we can think of God. Either an old man sitting on a cloud far away or someone who promises to stay with us and love us, who listens. Its really our choice if we want to believe and love God. The quote I liked, it was referencing to Jesus dying on the cross. For us to realize he was great and truly loved us, he had to die on the cross and suffer.

Something that stuck out to me today is that Jesus says that the day of the Messiah will be like lightning in the sky. I think this stuck out to me because its weird to think that he has only been on earth for about 33 years yet people still know and love him to this day. Also when the Pharisees ask where the Kingdom of heaven is and he says basically that it cannot be spotted. This doesn’t really make any sense because how could something be so close but you can’t see it. But then I was thinking about how everything inside your body is so close but you can’t see it. The kingdom of heaven is in our heart. After that when he says to his disciples that they will long to see him; he says to not follow the fake callings of the people when people will say look its God or we found the Kingdom of heaven. I think this kind of relates to humanity now with all of the fake religions and things like that.

“But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation.” I think today God is telling me that this generation on earth won’t except you, and you must go through a great amount of suffering to get to where you will get accepted. Someone on this earth will have something against you, and there’s nothing we can do about it really. Even if we are the kindest and most loving person ever there will still be someone that is either jealous of you or doesn’t like you. That’s okay though because all we care for is God to love us and to get to our real home. Sometimes you might even be jealous of someone else and you don’t know why, but we all make mistakes. We are not perfect and we will never be perfect because that’s just how it works, and the only one who is actually gonna be perfect is God himself. You might feel down that some people don’t like you, but don’t let that affect you. Instead just worry about yourself and put it in God’s hand for those hands are the only ones we should care about. That doesn’t mean to ignore other people and to not care for them, if they care for you then care for them, but if they don’t care for you still care for them as they are still a child of God and forget the rights and wrongs. God was loving to people still as they made Him suffer and PUT HIM TO DEATH. They KILLED Him and yet He STILL loves them. There’s not much that you can ask for besides that.

In today’s Gospel I read that Jesus will always be with us. He is in the Eucharist that we receive when we go to Communion and He is in us and the people around us. Jesus loves everyone so He suffered and died for us. He wouldn’t leave us so He gave us the Sacraments and the Mass so that we can always turn to God. The Church isn’t going anywhere so all you have to do is go to it and pray and be with Jesus. Whenever you feel like you’ve messed up badly or feel like you’re far from God, you can go to Confession or Adoration because Jesus will never leave you and He is always there for you no matter what.

When ever we read the bible, or we pray, God is in us. He is building a relationship with us. God loved us so much he gave his only son. He was hung up on the cross for us. Our sins. But, God tells us that after our suffering we shall receive the biggest joy , The Kingdom of Heaven.

I think Jesus is trying to tell me that to live we must die with him. As He suffered we must suffer in this world to obtain the next. We must trust in God in our suffering, because we never know when He will come to get us we must be ready at all times. We MUST follow his will not our own will. God’s love is eternal so we must love him back as well we can because we could never pay him back for what he has given us. He gives us great gifts and yet we turn away from him. We don’t deserve it yet God gives us everything. The only thing we have to do is love him and others. God is irrational He has every reason to turn his back to the human race but he gives us everything. So, let us give him love.

That tells us that in reality God is in all of us and if you treat someone bad and with no respect that means you are treating God bad and with no respect. So treat others as you want to be treated and treat others with kindness with the level of kindness that you will give to God if you ever see him.

We do things we know God wouldn’t approve of, yet we still do it, most of the time not even acknowledging that there is nothing that Jesus doesn’t see. We need to remember that he is always watching. When Jesus said, “The coming of the Kingdom of God cannot be observed, and no one will announce, ‘Look, here it is,’ or, ‘There it is.’ For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.” I think that it meant that we cannot find the Kingdom of God physically, but spiritually. We must find in our hearts what God has planned for us and follow that in order to find the Kingdom of God. “Do not go off, do not run in pursuit. For just as lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one side to the other, so will the Son of Man be in his day. But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation.”. Jesus had to suffer greatly for our sins, even though he did no wrong. For us to be true friends with Jesus and God, we must first do our part of suffering. Life is not supposed to be a thing where you get the comfiest couches or house, or where you get only the best foods or things out of life. It is meant to be something much greater, but first we must do our part of suffering like Jesus did, in order to get to Heaven.

I think in the Gospel today God is telling us that we must not follow other people because they can mislead you. Follow him instead, because only He knows what is truly right. I also think Jesus was warning his disciples that some will reject him and kill him, and after that he will get rid of the darkness in the world.

This made me reflect on what he really did for us. He died so we could be forgiven. We never deserved him. God brought his only son down to earth to save us and was crucified. What did Jesus do to deserve this? Nothing. That just shows how much he loves us that he would die to save us.

There is always going to be a time where you don’t fit in with everyone else because you might not have what they have. But Jesus will always accept us and will always think we are enough. And once we get to heaven, money is not going to matter, none of the worldly things are going to matter. Jesus said He must suffer greatly predicting His passion.

By being Baptized and spiritually adopted by our Father, we are born into the Kingdom of God. I think that the gospel is trying to tell us is that people see God in different ways. Now there isn’t really a right or wrong answer to how you see God. For example i used to see God as a human that lived in the clouds with binoculars looking down on me. Then when I got i little bit older I saw him as a person who knows what i’m doing at all time. Now i see him as the one and only God in the universe. Watching everyone at the same time and loving everyone the same, whether they are a gangster or a priest, God loves us all the same.

“There will be those who will say to you, ‘Look, there he is,’ or ‘Look, here he is.’ Do not go off, do not run in pursuit.” This verse stuck out to me today because I think we look for Jesus in the wrong things or we search for happiness in the wrong places. Sometimes we look for it in friends, sports, good grades, and other things we enjoy or can be proud of. And those things are good things and they can be used for the glory of God when used properly but they can also be abused. And that’s when we start looking for Jesus or what our minds have idolized to be Jesus in the wrong places. I think it’s pretty common to fall into this trap but there’s a difference between falling into the trap and pursuing it. Don’t pursue it. You can fall in and quickly back out but it’s harder after you’ve begun pursuing it. So pray to have strength and knowledge to see what is God and what isn’t and choose what is over what isn’t.

This gospel is asking us the question, “Where is God?” Where do we think God is? One thing us Christians get caught up in is, “God isn’t answering me.” This is false. God is ALWAYS listening no matter what. There may be times when God can’t perform a miracle, but this is the reason why we pray. Our prayers go up to God and He gives us what we asked for physically and spiritually.

We can’t depend on another person to tell us when God is coming because they aren’t God. This makes it difficult sometimes though to figure out if people are really talking in the name of God, or trying to force their own opinion about what God is saying. You must be prepared to see it coming, but don’t let your curiosity lead you to danger. God is everywhere and anywhere. No matter where you go, God will always be there on your side. As God is with you, Heaven is nigh bounding with you, like a mystery. When you go to Mass, you feel the weight of the Kingdom of God pressing down on you; mysterious phenomena that happens everywhere. Let God lead you wherever you go, and his path will lead you to a world of gladness and praise. God needs you to love him as he loved you, dying on the cross for our sins. Let God console you in times of trouble, teach you in times of ignorance, lead you in times of turmoil, he is our reliance for our saving. God is with you, everywhere you go.

What I think God is saying in the Gospel is that we have to suffer greatly before we reach the gates of heaven, We will never know when God’s Kingdom will come we will never know when God will come we just have to be the best version of ourselves because we do not know when judgement day Is and he will be in front of us and ask us what we accomplished for him on earth? No one can say oh yeah judgement day is tomorrow only Jesus knows when judgement day will be because he will decide. God Is always with us in the bad and in the good he will always lead us to the good we should always be good because he loves us.

“FOR BEHOLD,THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS AMOUNG YOU” Luke 17:20-25.In this scripture Jesus is met with a hard question when will the kingdom of God arrive. He tells us that the kingdom is around us .Our world ended when Jesus died on the cross on calvary.Jesus died for us for our sins and for our lives.
