Prayer Prompt before reading LK 24:35-48: Come, Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray well, interpret the Scriptures for me so that I may know the Truth about who God the Father is and God the Son so that I may know who I am.
“THEN HE OPENED THEIR MINDS TO UNDERSTAND THE SCRIPTURES.” LK 24:35-48
Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
Acts 3:11-26
I love the Acts of the Apostles. It teaches us how everything comes together and Jesus fulfilled His mission. Most importantly, we are winners in this mission if we choose it. The Acts of the Apostles increases my faith and helps me understand my faith, “You denied the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be released to you. The author of life you put to death, but God raised him from the dead; of this we are witnesses. And by faith in his name, this man, whom you see and know, his name has made strong, and the faith that comes through it has given him this perfect health, in the presence of all of you.”
Has your faith increased in the last 40 days? Why or why not? Now that the Scriptures have been fulfilled, do we still act out of ignorance? What are we doing to continue to educate ourselves about Jesus and get to know Him better? We cannot give up our lives or worship someone we do not know or understand. Keep learning, be a sponge and soak up all that God wants you to know about Him.
LK 24:35-48
Jesus appears to the Apostles with the words, “Peace be with you,” (Shalom in Hebrew which means I wish for you a good life a fulfilled life). We just killed Him with our sins and the first thing He says is peace be with you! Who would ever do this? God has infinite radical love for His creation. His mercy is bigger than the ocean that makes our sins look very small.
All He asks of us is to come to Him, repent (change our lives by changing our thinking), and show this love and mercy towards others. He then goes on to show the Apostles His glorified body, eats a piece of fish, and confirms He is not a ghost. This is why we believe we will have a glorified body after the Second Coming, Jesus does.
What is so important about these Resurrection stories? Jesus Christ is who He says He is and it solidifies everything He has said and done. “He is either God or a very bad man” says C.S. Lewis. Second, there are many witnesses of these things and over 100 prophecies fulfilled by Him.
We have no physical or scientific proof that Jesus resurrected (except the Shroud of Turin if it is the burial cloth of Christ), but in Luke’s Gospel today we have witnesses who wrote about Him. Read it slowly. It contains the summary of the whole Bible and everything we need to know to believe, be saved, and get to our heavenly home; the heart’s deepest longing.
Today’s challenge: Read and believe, our minds have been open to the Scriptures through the power of the Holy Spirit in Baptism and Confirmation to help us understand and increase our faith. Live it through your actions, repent and begin to change daily habits.
Be a servant, become a saint!
#Christian YODO (You Only Die Once; we will live again!)
Jesus Christ has risen, Alleluia! Do you believe?
“God has infinite radical love for His creation. His mercy is bigger than the ocean that makes our sins look very small.” This stood out to me because God’s love is not only bigger than the ocean but its bigger than the entire universe.
It was telling me that its not nice to be a friend, and betray the same person, it does not depend on who or how long you have been friend, don’t betray them!
“THEN HE OPENED THEIR MINDS TO UNDERSTAND THE SCRIPTURES.” LK 24:35-48. Something that stood out to me about this is that Jesus is saying that just like the disciples we should open our minds to the lord so we can understand the scriptures that Jesus gave us.
The disciples were astonished by Jesus rising from the dead. Jesus let them feel him, so they knew that he wasn’t a ghost, but a real human. He was real and he was risen from the dead.
This is saying that we should not leave out anything in the Bible when we are using them for interpreting something else.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus knocked on the door where the Apostles were. They were terrified because they thought He was a ghost, but He isn’t a ghost, He came back as flesh and bone.
The Risen Jesus meets his terrified, doubting disciples with peace, tangible proof of his resurrection (flesh and bones), and the Eucharist (breaking bread). He transforms their fear into a mission, opening their minds to Scripture and calling them to be witnesses of repentance and resurrection.
And why do questions arise in your hearts? Look at my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Touch me and see, because a ghost does not have flesh and bones as you can see I have.” This stuck out to me in the gospel because its reminding us that God is real and more than just a ghost.
What stood out to me in this reflection was “His mercy is bigger than the ocean that makes our sins look very small.” This stood out to me because it reminds us about how it is okay to not be perfect all the time. We cant always expect to be able to live a non-sinful life. We can strive for that in our life, but living an entire lifetime with absolutely no sins wont be possible, and that’s acceptable as long as we try our hardest to repent.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus shows his hands and feet to the disciples. He opened their minds and hearts with scripture. When we believe and trust in God, our hearts are also opened. Jesus was with his disciples through everything, but some of them weren’t with Jesus when He was suffering. We need to stay with Jesus through all of our troubles and our fears, and give it all to Him.
“Thus it is written that the Christ would suffer and rise from the dead on the third day and that repentance, for the forgiveness of sins, would be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things.”
In today’s Gospel Jesus ate bread and fish to show that He is not a ghost. He is real!
Sometimes we don’t think that God is real because we don’t see him physically right infront of us. But God is always with us because He is our Savior. He will always be watching over us and make sure that we are safe!
In today’s Gospel the disciples believe they have seen a ghost because Jesus has appeared in front of them but he can deny that quickly because he had flesh and bones and was clearly there with them in the present eating with them. Jesus has always been there with them and will always be because he loves us and loves them.
I think part of this scripture emphasizes how large the mercy and love Jesus has for us is. From being tortured and sacrificing his life to being with us at mass everyday, he shows it too us in many ways and I think we need too work harder too comprehend that, though that may be difficult because of how vast and intense it is. With all of this the least we can do it pray too him and take time out of our day too feel and enjoy his presence whether that be through mass, adoration, or prayer in our own room.
Jesus is all knowing. He knows the future and what is to come. Just as Jesus knew he would suffer and die, and he knew Peter would deny him three times and Judas would betray him. With everything crazy going on in the world let this be a reminder that God has a plan for each of us. He calls us to be at peace without fear and trust into him completely.
“THEN HE OPENED THEIR MINDS TO UNDERSTAND THE SCRIPTURES.” LK 24:35-48 what this means to me is that when he broke the bread he was trying to open their minds then when he died and resurrected and their minds were open. When Thomas put his fingers though the holes of Jesus Christ his mind was open. Those two disciples when they saw Jesus alive they doubted they were shocked but when they really saw them their minds were open and their hearts were open to him.
In today’s scripture reading it really stuck out to me when it says that the Apostles Creed is God’s mission fully complete. It made my heart fill with joy. We are winners in this mission if we choose it. In lent it is time to grow closer to the Lord and to strengthen our relationship with God. We cannot believe anyone else except God because he is the one who really did die you, nobody else took your place on the cross. We just harmed and killed Jesus for our sins, he did not have to die on that cross for you, he chose to because he loves you and he saved your life from all evil. When we need him, fall into sin, doubt, run back to the Father, do not be afraid to go up to him, go up to him because he loves you so much. He shows his love and mercy towards you by showing you his love by him allowing you to come and run to his open arms. He then goes on to show the Apostles His glorified body, eats a piece of fish, and confirms He is not a ghost. Always believe, if you start doubting come back to him he will help you same when you fall into sin. Have a good rest of your day!!! God loves you so much as he died for you to live a happy life and a free life. God Bless!!! Viva Cristo Rey!!!!
All He asks of us is to come to Him and repent,he loves us.Jesus Christ is who he says he is.We have no physical or scientific proof that Jesus resurrected, read and believe,God is the true God.
After Jesus rose from the dead, he appeared to his disciples to prove he was actually alive and not a ghost by showing them his scars and eating some fish. He explained that everything happening to him was part of a bigger plan that had been predicted in the scriptures a long time ago. By “opening their minds,” he helped them finally understand why he had to suffer and return to life to save people. Finally, he told them it was now their job to travel the world and tell everyone the good news about forgiveness.
This gospel stood out to me because this is when Jesus revealed himself to the disciples and showed them the wounds.
Today in the Gospel Jesus said “Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures.” Jesus helped his apostles understand scriptures and why things happens. He can do that for us if we open our hearts and minds to his works and just let them happen. Knowing that God has a plan.
In today’s gospel 2 disciples meet up with the other 9 disciples and they see Jesus and he appears to them with his body. They touch him to be sure he was alive and he was alive. He breaks the bread like he always does. He told them that he will come to them after he rises from the dead and he kept his promise.
In today’s gospel, Jesus comes to the deciples but the diciples are very troubled and they think that he is a ghost. Jesus then proves that he is not a ghost because ghost’s do not have flesh and bones, the disiples then believe. He asks for fish and then shows them what he has taught them. He then tells them to go out and spread that word for others.
Today’s Gospel talks about Jesus being revealed to to the apostles. They think he is only appearing as a ghost being God but he tells them how he is human that has rose. We must have faith in God and never doubt it.
In today’s Gospel the disciples see Jesus and think he’s a ghost but Jesus proved to them that he was real and has resurrected. Jesus came back to them and explained everything and forgave them. Jesus still loves us even though we doubt and denied him.
We cannot give up our lives or worship someone we do not know or understand. We need to never stop worshiping God if you stop you will not have a good chance to go to heaven. If you do not worship God and go to mass and pray every night you are not a good catholic you need to pray and go to mass to make it to heaven. And most of all follow the 10 commandments.
In today’s Gospel Jesus said “everything written about me in the law of Moses and in the prophets and psalms must be fulfilled.” Isn’t it amazing that Jesus fufiled prophecys. If he didn’t it would be so much harder to believe he was the Son of God.
Jesus had risen from the dead but the disciples did not believe Him. He let them feel the wounds to help them understand He was not a ghost but a human. Real and resurrected. We should always trust Jesus no matter what He has planned for us.
In the Gospel, the disciples did not think that Jesus was with them presently. This stuck out to me because people don’t think God is real because they can’t see them. I saw this video where this girl said, “God is like air. You cannot see air, yet you need it to live and it is all around you. God is all around us, we just don’t realize it.
“THEN HE OPENED THEIR MINDS TO UNDERSTAND THE SCRIPTURES.” LK 24:35-48. This stood out immediately to me and made more sense as I read the reading. Jesus was born in a time where the only way to connect with God were these sinful high Priests, that quote makes me understand even more why Jesus had to come save us. We cannot read scripture by ourselves without missing something, the puzzle with no pieces, Jesus had to replace the high priests because they were spreading false preaching. Even when they didn’t know that they were wrong. When one person says something the mind thinks automaticly its true, even with some doubt that it could be wrong. So they crucified him in jealousy.
Jesus said , “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the law of Moses and in the prophets and psalms must be fulfilled.” He is revealing Himself to us and the apostles. “Thus it is written that the Christ would suffer
and rise from the dead on the third day and that repentance, for the forgiveness of sins, would be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things.” He is saying that He has done what He said He was gonna do. He showed us that death is not the end but, there is a Heaven.
I was amazed that the Diciples were so startled because it was Jesus because they knew he was lord and were still scared.
Todays Gospel is telling me how God is not a ghost and that he is rel and that we have to believe in him and all of his miricials.
“Why are you troubled? And why do questions arise in your hearts? Look at my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Touch me and see, because a ghost does not have flesh and bones as you can see I have.” Jesus arose from the dead, a miricale. He died for us and rose for us again. What Jesus did is just so spectacular to me.
“You are witnesses of these things.” This quote reminds me of when Jesus said “Blessed are those who have not seen and believed,” the apostles ate and spent time with Jesus and yet Judas still betrayed Him. We also eat and spend time with Him in the Eucharist and we still betray Jesus similarly to Judas. Judas betrayed Him for money but every single day we betray Him, the same man who suffered the most painful death for us, for free.
I think in this scripture Jesus kinda had to “factory reset” the disciples a little bit and reassure them that He has been risen and alive again.
In today’s gospel the apostles are stunned to see Jesus. Jesus says look at my feet and hands and said does a ghost have bones and flesh. Jesus knew he was going to die and resurect.
“But they were startled and terrified and thought that they were seeing a ghost. Then he said to them, “Why are you troubled? And why do questions arise in your hearts? Look at my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Touch me and see, because a ghost does not have flesh and bones as you can see I have.” This stuck out to me because the deciples did not realize it was Jesus until the touch his wounds.
being a person that lives again is being a person that has risen from the dead rising from the dead is being alive once, died, and rose again after the have died. Jesus died and rose again. they said to him peace be with you not knowing he is Jesus. Jesus showed them his hands and feet where the nails have been pierced into him. and said to them to touch him so that they know that he is not a ghost and that he has risen from the dead.
“He is either God or a very bad man” this line really sticks out to me because its true. with all of the things Jesus did and all of the things Jesus said. if everything was a lie then Jesus very well could have been an enormous liar convincing people he was the Messiah, but he could also be fully divine and fully human and everything he said could be true and he could have done all of those miracles.
This Gospel calls us to journey from the fear of Jesus being dead to Him rising. He came and put joy on the open table, recognizing that the crucified and risen Jesus is spiritually and physically present, He is there and ready to feed our souls.
“We have no physical or scientific proof that Jesus resurrected (except the Shroud of Turin if it is the burial cloth of Christ), but in Luke’s Gospel today we have witnesses who wrote about Him.” This stood out to me while reading this gospel because we truly have no proof, but the first-hand experiences in Luke’s gospel is the truth.
The Lord gave his only son and He saved us but we are not the best about it. If you take a grain of sand and throw it you’re not going to find it again but if you throw a tree branch you will. Fame is supposed to be the grain but that doesn’t always happen, make Jesus the branch find Him.
There’s life after death. The heart stops working yet the brain or your consciousness continues to work after that. That’s why people see things after the heart stops pumping and most of the stories seem to either be experiencing judgement and being converted to a christian, or seeing heaven in some way. Heaven is something that can be hard to imagine what it’s like, but i know for sure that it will be a much better version of earth, one without corruption and evil.
In the Gospel today Jesus said that the scriptures have foretold that He will be raised. We must open our hearts to Him and lead good lives.
“Now I know, brothers and sisters,
that you acted out of ignorance, just as your leaders did;” Just because someone is ignoring a person for something that happened doesn’t mean you have to either. They didn’t do anything wrong with you then that doesn’t mean you have to ignore them. treat everyone equal
Touch me and see, because a ghost does not have flesh and bones
as you can see I have.” What this means to me is that we should never doubt God even through tough times. This also shows that God truly reseretted from the dead. Also God’s flesh is what we receive through communion.
Jesus fulfilled so many prophesies and yet people doubt him. He gave us everything we needed to meet him and be with Him in heaven. There may not always be proof but we need to use our faith and truly believe.
In today’s Gospel, I think God is trying to tell me everything we need is in Him. All the knowledge we will need is in Him and lets us have that as long as we open up to Him. He is the answer to all of our problems and everything that we need. He gives us this through His body and His soul. So we need to appreciate everything and always look to Him for help.
“Jesus appears to the Apostles with the words, “Peace be with you” We will always be welcomed back to him with undying love and forgiveness. When we our focus turns away from God he is always there to bring us back. There is nothing we can do to make God stop loving us and forgiving us.
Look at my hands and my feet, that it is myself. Touch me and see, because a ghost does not have flesh and bones
as you can see I have.” When I read this line in the Gospel, something came to my mind. It made me realize that God Himself made us. He took his time. Out of all the people in the world, none of us are similar to each other.
Something that stuck out to me today in the Gospel was “”Peace be with you.”But they were startled and terrified and thought that they were seeing a ghost. Then he said to them, “Why are you troubled? And why do questions arise in your hearts? Look at my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Touch me and see, because a ghost does not have flesh and bones as you can see I have.” And as he said this ,he showed them his hands and his feet.” You always have to believe in jesus never doubt him he is all powerfull and is all knowing do not be like the apostles they did not believe and doubted they were troubled always have trust in God.
In the Gospel today, Us humans most of the time don’t see Jesus in our lives, we don’t think he is truly here. Thats what is shown in the Gospel today, the two disciples didn’t recognize him till he saw the hands and feet wounds. We need to consider talking to Jesus in our daily lives especially during the tough times.
God will always love us, and even will show it as much as possible. He will love us for eternity, and it will never ever stop. Despite us being sinners, he wishes us the best of life, and hope we will be in his arms in his paradise. He created the Earth we know today, and it is made for us. And yet, we have ruined it with sin. And despite that, he came down to preach and show that his love is greater than any sin or being in the world.
Jesus appeared to the apostles saying peace be with you basically saying have a good life and the apostles thought that Jesus was a ghost but he proved himself to be true showing the holes in his feet and hands and the Pierce in his side this shows God does wonderful things and he can show himself to us but we must listen
What today’s Gospel tells me is that God is trying to open himself to us and open our minds so that we can better understand his message and fully understand the gravity of what he did for us.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus comes to His disciples and they become startled because they think that He might be a ghost. He senses that they’re feared and He tells them that He is alive. They become amazed at how He resurrected and He tells them that it was foretold in the law of Moses.
“Thus it is written that the Christ would suffer and rise from the dead on the third day and that repentance, for the forgiveness of sins, would be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things.” What I got from this verse from the Gospel is that Jesus is forgiveness and he is who we need to go to when we need to repent for our sins. We witness all of these things happening in our everyday lives.
“Do you have anything here to eat?” Jesus said this, and in a way he’s telling us that although he has died and rose again, he is still human.
“They gave Him a piece of baked fish; He took it and ate it in front of them.” This statement, in my opinion, is like the “why was the door red?” questions you are asked when reading Macbeth, because if it wasn’t important why would it be mentioned? Jesus taking and eating the fish is important because being able to consume food is one of our human characteristics (I don’t think that is the right word), and it shows how human Jesus is even after He died and came back.
In today’s scripture it talks about the apostles believing in Jesus, and when he died they all fell into loneliness. They all missed their leader even when people told such horrible things about him and to not believe in him, to me this just shows that the apostles have true loyalty towards their greatest friend and I think we should all take consideration into that.
After Jesus appeared to the disciples again, they were terrified because they thought they were seeing a ghost. Some of that time might have tried to rationalize it that Jesus had only become a ghost instead of rising from the dead. However, in the disciples touching him and him eating with them he proves He rose Body and Soul. This is important because the resurrection is a key to our faith and without it our faith is meaningless. In Jesus’ resurrection we have faith that we too will be raised Body and Soul at the end of Time.
Jesus has cool abilities like today he just can open up their minds to understand the scripture he can work internally with them. Also Jesus shows that he really did come back because he was hungry and it’s funny because I never really thought of Jesus to be hungry but he was a real person and had to eat too. The disciples have got to be in shock because they are witnesses as it says and they seen him die an excruciating death and here his eating and breaking bread with them.
In this Gospel, it talks about Jesus’ resurrection. His resurrection reminds me that He is God’s son. He died just for us and for our sins and then rose again! Rising from the dead is so surprising to the Apostles that they don’t even fully believe when they first see Him. This shows us to never doubt God.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus appears to the disciples after He died, fully alive again. He says, “Peace be with you,” to them. Despite us killing Him gruesomely with our sins, Jesus comes back and wishes peace to us. This proves that Jesus is love Himself. How awesome is that? In our troubled times, we can turn to something who loves us no matter what, despite what we did to Him. Jesus cradles us in His arms when we need Him. He turns our sadness into joy. He is Love, all that is good and what everyone seeks: true happiness.
“Why are you troubled? And why do questions arise in your hearts?¨ Jesus just rose from the dead and everyone is still not sure what to belive they see and hear Jesus but how is it possible for him to rise from the dead, they just cant figure it out. Jesus knows we are jsut humans we are curious and need proof, he shows them where the nails were and they start to get everything figuered out.
In today’s Gospel Jesus’s disciples had come to finally recognize Jesus. He told us that everything on the day of his resurrection was fulfilled. Jesus came back to life to tell us that we are free and that to show us that he is the real Son of God.
APRIL 8 Jesus appears to 2 men walking and they didn’t recognize him saying that the Jesus of Nazareth had been crucified and then there was a woman who came running saying he has resurrected. this shows the power of the Lord and we must welcome him into our lives so he can show us his powers and their effect on us
“And that repentance, for the forgiveness of sins, would be preached in his name.” This teaches me that with repentance that is preached to us, God will forgive us always in his name. We should repent to God often and abstain from sinning if we can. God is here to forgive us just how Jesus forgave the world when they sent him up to die. Have faith and take accountability for your actions.
In order for the scriptures to talk and really understand
the story God is teaching us we need to not just open up are
ears but also are hearts and let the holy spirit guide us and
if we don’t do it then we are not reading Jesus story but words
APRIL 2 Jesus is showing the guards that he is not afraid of death or any other punishment. he shows this by telling the high priest that he has no secrets and Jesus tells him about every thing he does. We should listen to Him and involve him in our lives listening to what God has to say to us
Today in the Gospel Jesus appears to his disciples after he has risen from the dead. Like the disciples, we are also witnesses of Jesus’s Resurrection. And according to the Scripture he said to the disciples, we should tell everyone about the forgiveness of sins and repentance.
don’t leave those who depend on you help those who need things and pray for those you cna t help and be the LIGHT OF THW WORLD!!!
Something in this Gospel that sort of stuck to me is that the Apostles Creed is God’s mission fully complete. And we say it during mass all year around and just say the words without thinking about what we are saying.
In todays Gospel the disciples believe they have seen a ghost because Jesus has appeared in front of them but he can deny that quickly because he had flesh and bones and was clearly there with them in the present eating with them. Jesus has always been there with them and will always be because he loves us and loves them
In todays gospel Jesus proves he is real. We don’t always believe that he is real just because we cant see him with our own two eyes. But he is real! The desciples thought he was a ghost, but he is not.
In todays Gospel, Jesus Chirst literally appears to the apostles after he was crucified. Even after that, and all the miracles they had seen, they still had trouble believing. We need to ask for Gods grace to know and recognize him.
In today’s Gospel the disciples see Jesus and think he is a ghost trying to scare them. But Jesus tells them, “Peace be with you”. This shows that Jesus is always with us and will never stop loving us. Just remember that he is always with and will help us through hard times.
the disciples are scared when they see jesus thinking that he was a ghost when we was not. he eats the bread and fish to show that he is not and they don’t need to be scared of him. Jesus loves us and provides for us so we shouldn’t be scared of him.
What I took from today’s gospel is that Jesus proves that ghosts are not real. They will also never be real.
The part of this Gospel that stuck out to me was when Jesus asked the Apostles, “Why are you troubled?
And why do questions arise in your hearts?
Look at my hands and my feet, that it is I myself.
Touch me and see, because a ghost does not have flesh and bones
as you can see I have.”
This means to me that we may have doubts sometimes, but no matter what Jesus will help us along the way to find him and know that He is real.
what I got from this was that through it all jesus still tried again and again to help them understand. he is still forgiving. when the apostles feared him and thought he was a ghost he showed them his wounds and let them feel him to know he is human, he is real. he didn’t get angry, he is slow to it and he loves us so he shows us the way even after we doubt it
what stood out to me was that the disciples did not beleive until he gave them proof he had risen. they had to see him eat and see his marks before they could confirm for themselves that he was actually risen and not just a ghost. they had to see to believe, have proof so they did not not believe.
In todays Gospel Jeussu has came back to the Diciples. Some diciples did not know that that was Jesus because they did not belive then Jesus now had to remind them what he told them before he died then evryone rembered and belived that Jeuss was coming back in 3 days and he did.
In the Gospel today, Jesus shows His disciples that he is not a ghost and has resurrected. At first they are shocked and terrified, but they look at His hands and feet and realize it really is Jesus. Sometimes God can be right in front of us and we doubt. But we should always trust in God.
In the Gospel the people thought Jesus was just a ghost. Then Jesus ate the fish to prove that he is not a ghost.
We are the people. We sometimes don’t believe because we cant see God or Jesus. The Gospel is telling us to always tryst in God. We can do that by reading the Bible and actually truly believing in what we read.
” But they were startled and terrified and thought that they were seeing a ghost “. This stook out to me because Jesus said to them that he would come back from the dead and yet when they see him they are startled. If I was one of those apostles I would have been in complete shock.
The apostles thought they saw a ghost when they saw Jesus. To prove he was no ghost he showed them his hands and feet. They were amazed because people don’t wake up once they die. This proves that Jesus never broke his promise and truly came back from the dead after the third day.
Jesus’ first words to the disciples are “Peace be with you”. He greets them not with judgment for their abandonment during the Passion, but with a kind greeting that helps them recognize him better, because he is always forgiving, unlike most people.
