“WITH THAT THEIR EYES WERE OPENED AND THEY RECOGNIZED HIM, BUT HE VANISHED FROM THEIR SIGHT.” LK 24:13-35
Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
Peter and John were going up to the temple area
for the three o’clock hour of prayer.
And a man crippled from birth was carried
and placed at the gate of the temple called “the Beautiful Gate” every day
to beg for alms from the people who entered the temple.
When he saw Peter and John about to go into the temple,
he asked for alms.
But Peter looked intently at him, as did John,
and said, “Look at us.”
He paid attention to them, expecting to receive something from them.
Peter said, “I have neither silver nor gold,
but what I do have I give you:
in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazorean, rise and walk.”
Then Peter took him by the right hand and raised him up,
and immediately his feet and ankles grew strong.
He leaped up, stood, and walked around,
and went into the temple with them,
walking and jumping and praising God.
When all the people saw him walking and praising God,
they recognized him as the one
who used to sit begging at the Beautiful Gate of the temple,
and they were filled with amazement and astonishment
at what had happened to him. Acts 3:1-10
As Christians we are called to help others, the greatest in need. We are to take care of those who nobody else will even come close to. Today, Peter must have felt something inside of him, maybe compassion for the cripple. Do you have the urge inside of you to help the least of God’s people? It is interesting to me who Peter is so interested in helping after Christ’s resurrection. How does Peter know what to say to heal the man, “in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazorean, rise and walk.” This reminds me of, “Every knee shall bend in the heavens, on the earth, and under the earth to the name Jesus Christ.”
I am crippled in many ways, I think we all are in some way. Matthew Kelly, in his book “Rediscover Jesus” reminds us that we all have blind spots. Things others recognize in us that we don’t see in ourselves. Things our pride and ego have pushed away for so long we totally miss them about ourselves. The things people never say to us but talk to others about because they don’t want to hurt our feelings. We all need Jesus Christ the Nazorean to heal us. When we recognize our brokenness and come to Jesus for healing we will be “walking and jumping and praising God.”
That very day, the first day of the week,
two of Jesus’ disciples were going
to a village seven miles from Jerusalem called Emmaus,
and they were conversing about all the things that had occurred.
And it happened that while they were conversing and debating,
Jesus himself drew near and walked with them,
but their eyes were prevented from recognizing him.
He asked them,
“What are you discussing as you walk along?”
They stopped, looking downcast.
One of them, named Cleopas, said to him in reply,
“Are you the only visitor to Jerusalem
who does not know of the things
that have taken place there in these days?”
And he replied to them, “What sort of things?”
They said to him,
“The things that happened to Jesus the Nazarene,
who was a prophet mighty in deed and word
before God and all the people,
how our chief priests and rulers both handed him over
to a sentence of death and crucified him.
But we were hoping that he would be the one to redeem Israel;
and besides all this,
it is now the third day since this took place.
Some women from our group, however, have astounded us:
they were at the tomb early in the morning
and did not find his Body;
they came back and reported
that they had indeed seen a vision of angels
who announced that he was alive.
Then some of those with us went to the tomb
and found things just as the women had described,
but him they did not see.”
And he said to them, “Oh, how foolish you are!
How slow of heart to believe all that the prophets spoke!
Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things
and enter into his glory?”
Then beginning with Moses and all the prophets,
he interpreted to them what referred to him
in all the Scriptures.
As they approached the village to which they were going,
he gave the impression that he was going on farther.
But they urged him, “Stay with us,
for it is nearly evening and the day is almost over.”
So he went in to stay with them.
And it happened that, while he was with them at table,
he took bread, said the blessing,
broke it, and gave it to them.
With that their eyes were opened and they recognized him,
but he vanished from their sight.
Then they said to each other,
“Were not our hearts burning within us
while he spoke to us on the way and opened the Scriptures to us?”
So they set out at once and returned to Jerusalem
where they found gathered together
the Eleven and those with them who were saying,
“The Lord has truly been raised and has appeared to Simon!”
Then the two recounted what had taken place on the way
and how he was made known to them in the breaking of the bread. Lk 24:13-35
Does Jesus need to come back for us to know everything we need to know about how we are saved? Jesus said to the two disciples on the road to Emmaus, “Oh how foolish you are! How slow of heart to believe all that the prophets spoke! Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into his glory?” Then, Jesus proceeds to talk about all of the prophecies He fulfilled. When asked, “How are you saved or why did you need a Savior, can you answer it? Most Catholics can’t. This might be “put in your mirror” material, so get ready to write it down.
1. Jesus Christ had to die and rise. (God redeeming His people after the fall of Adam and Eve; Jesus is the new Adam, Mary is the second Eve) There in the Garden Adam and Eve sinned, there in the Garden lies the tomb Jesus resurrected from.
2. You must repent and be baptized. (Repent means to change the way you think about everything, ugghhh! This is our response to God’s love and mercy for His people; allow God to transform you with His grace) We have to eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood; receive the Eucharist to have eternal life.
3. We must live our Baptismal promises out daily. I reject Satan. I believe Jesus is the Son of God (Creed)… (Are you rejecting Satan and fighting sin with a resolute heart? When falling are you going to confession often? We have amnesia (forget a lot) so we need to remind ourselves of what we believe daily through reading the Scriptures and the catechism (Youcat-did you ask for one for Easter?) We cannot worship something we do not know and you will live what you believe. Is the Word of God forming you or Youtube, Netflix, and video games? So, what do you believe? Your eternal state which cannot be changed depends on it. Live with the end in mind.
Last, Jesus uses the breaking of the bread to reveal Himself to the disciples. On Passover, Holy Thursday, He gives us Himself in the bread and wine until He returns. Do you believe the Eucharist is Jesus Christ? Think about it next time you go to Mass. Jesus says we must eat His flesh and drink His blood to have eternal life. This is serious and a requirement! Buy a book about the Eucharist and read it before Mass. The Youcat says the origin of the liturgy/Mass is God. It is when He gives Himself to us, He cannot give any more than Himself! We must get to Mass more often. Honestly, what do we really believe in? We can’t worship or build a relationship with someone we don’t know.
Today’s challenge: Recognize we are crippled and we need Jesus the Nazorean to help us leap for joy into heaven. Be able to answer how we are saved as Christians (this is your Christian identity-we can’t live out something we can’t identify with) and most importantly live it-become a saint!
#Christian YOLO
Be a believer, become a saint!
Jesus Christ, I believe, help my unbelief!
that jesus wah killd withthe cra and a lot of woonds and he was so dehidraded and he when theor withit
All that we do is done in Jesus’s name. Our gifts, talents, life are not made by some false god or our own selves, but by the loving God, our Father, who will never abandon us. God loves us so much that he sent his only Son to die for our sins and never stops thinking about each and every one of us. He knows us all by name and created us before the beginning of time. He loves us so much and by spreading this love with others (stewardship), we can show others the love of God.
Peter said, “I have neither silver nor gold, but what I do have I give you: in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazorean, rise and walk.” Then Peter took him by the right hand and raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles grew strong. He leaped up, stood, and walked around, and went into the temple with them, walking and jumping and praising God. This is showing how Jesus is still working through the disciples and helping them after he is gone. He said, “In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazorean, rise and walk.” He asked Jesus for help and the man was able to walk again.
IN today’s reading right after the man was healed he jumped for joy because he was excited and then he praised God. Sometimes we forget that good things happen to us from God. We have to remember that God is behind every joy and sadness and he loves us. So just as the man did we must praise God for the big and little joys.
“But what I do have I give you: in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, rise and walk.” Then Peter took him by the right hand and raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles grew strong. He leaped up, stood, and walked around, and went into the temple with them, walking and jumping and praising God.” It’s crazy what could happen with only a little bit of faith and through Jesus. I’m astonished about how this man who has never been able to walk was able to walk because he was healed in the name of Jesus.
Today´s scripture passage is very important and meaningful. The main message I took from this is that we have to be open and willing to help the helpless, they need it. Jesus always helps us and is by our side when we feel alone, so be comforting to them. They need someone to rely on and call a friend. We all know what it’s like to feel hurt, they feel it constantly. Don´t treat them like they are less because if we are being honest with ourselves they are sons and daughters and sinners of Christ, just as much as we are. Be somebody’s someone.
In this scripture reflection we learn that anything is possible with God. People saw that in the readings a crippled man rose in walk when peter knew Jesus could help him with it Peter didn’t have Magical powers and did it himself it was all in the work of God of this man being able to rise and walk for the first time ever in his life. Jesus is so amazing in so many ways we don’t even know Jesus would never want us to leave him and would do anything for us and he did on Good Friday he died for the love of ours sins.
i think this Gospel is showing how much Jesus death affected his disciples. They were all sad and gloomy when he died and those days before he had risen they were all pretty much depressed because Jesus Christ their savior was dead. But then they hear the new about the Angels being in the tomb of Jesus and him not being in the tomb which meant he had risen and they all became joyful. I think it showed how much of a father-figure Jesus was to his disciples.
Today’s scripture a crippled man walked. All they said was, “in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazorean, rise and walk.” The man did so and got up and walked. We are crippled and only Jesus can heal us. We need to let go of our worries and put them in Him so that we can be happy and walk with Him.
A phrase that stuck out to me was “in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazorean, rise and walk.” This phrase means to me that even though Jesus died he is still healing people. Another reason is that Jesus will always be with us even when we can’t see him we need to be like the cripple man that when our hard ships are over we need to go praise God.
In this scripture they talk about how some of the apostles had the power to heal people if they were a holy enough apostle and they believed enough they would be able to do it.
We are called to help others through Jesus Christ just as the disciples did. This is what today’s gospel is teaching us.
Within our Christian identity, there is a need for a savior that we must begin to acknowledge. We, as humans, are broken sinners. Everybody has their own brokenness. Whether that brokenness is their mental health, a dysfunctional family, a loss of a loved one, or even a struggle with addiction. Our brokenness can make us want to give up, but we can’t let that happen. We are sons and daughters of God, and Jesus died so that we could be free of death and sin. There isn’t a reason to stress because our need as Christians has been met. We have a savior, and it’s Jesus Christ.
In this reading, I learned that through Jesus anything is possible. Having the Lord Jesus Christ with you is more important than having silver and gold. Through Jesus anyone can be healed. In the Gospel, Jesus is talking to the two disciples on the road to Emmaus. These two disciples did not realize Jesus was with them until the breaking of bread. This could be us sometimes, Jesus will be talking to us through others without us even knowing.
“He was made known to them in the breaking of the bread.” Jesus is real and He is alive in it he Eucharist. We know Him because we receive His body when we go to Mass. Jesus is fully alive in the Eucharist to make Himself known to us. We get filled with God and His grace just like the Apostles did at the Last Supper.
Jesus’s words are so powerful. With just an utter from his mouth he could command the mountains to move and bend at his will. His name is also extraordinarily powerful. Even Satan cowers at his name because he knows deep down that he will never be as powerful as the Lord. God’s will is what moves the tides and shakes the Earth. Without God we are nothing. Nothing and broken. That is how we are crippled. We must open ourselves to him and be healed then walk down the path of holiness.
in the gospel it says they were going in for the three o’clock hour of prayer that means that the apostles and the beggar were early risers and would get up early to see god
“I have neither silver nor gold, but what I do have I give you: in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazorean, rise and walk.” Peter had nothing to give but his faith in Jesus. in His name, demons could be cast out, crippled people could be healed, and dead could come to life. He is the son of God, He sits at the right hand of the Father. we are called to holiness, to heaven. what is our goal in life? not just to love and serve God, but to get to Heaven and bring as many people as we can with us.
Today’s scripture is about caring for those who need it the most. When you see that someone is sick and injured you should just be like oh well good luck living with that for a while. No you need to help them, but not just physically but also spiritually. We need to pray for the people who don’t have others to pray for them.
Jesus can heal by just us asking, ask and you will receive. God can do everything and wants us to be happy and he will give us all of our needs with just us speaking to him.
We must start paying attention in mass, we can’t have a relationship with someone that we don’t know. And also he cannot make us go to mass, it is a thing that we have to do ourselves and with our own free will. We have to change the way we look at everything and that is also really not easy. God had to die for us just so that we would figure this out.
We have to be opening, and willing to help, the ones who need it, and not to be selfish. God has always helped us, He has always been there at our side, protecting , and helping us no matter what. Even when we sinned, and betrayed Him, He had forgiveness, and proceeded to stay with us in the same spot He has ALWAYS BEEN.
I think Jesus is trying to tell me in this scripture that Faith is everything. We have to trust in God and lean on him.
We are called to help the helpless just like Jesus did. Jesus would help the helpless people. Jesus is more important then anything Silver or Gold. We just need to have a strong faith and relationship with God.
In the scripture they say that the apostles have the power to heal people if they believe in God and are Holy. And that Jesus made us know that he was there in the Eucharist and just like at the last supper with the apostles.
Jesus wants us to go out and help others. Jesus helped others by dying on the cross, but then he rose again to save us. He helped us by saving us from our sins. Just as we should go help others.
I think Jesus is trying to tell me in this scripture that Faith is everything. We have to trust in God and lean on him. God loves us.
We are told to help others,we see this through Jesus, washing the disciples feet, and dying for them, etc. He came back after all of
the stuff he was put through he still came back to them.
“I have neither silver nor gold, but what I do have I give you: in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazorean, rise and walk.” Jesus Christ has resurected. The apostles have seen that he is alive, this inspired them to do just as their teacher did. heal, save, and cure.
Peter and John are telling us to serve by any means possible. This gospel also tells us that we can do great things in Christ. So we must help people who are less fortunate than ourselves and do great works in the name of Jesus Christ
We are told in today’s reading and Gospel that Jesus has Resurrected. Peter tells a crippled man begging for alms, “I have neither silver nor gold,
but what I do have I give you:
in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, rise and walk.” Jesus breathed His spirit throughout all 12 of the apostles and made them be able to do things like this. First Jesus dies to our sins, second He comes back to life with love and forgiveness, then finally breathes His spirit through all the apostles. Then the apostles go and live out Jesus’ mission. Jesus walks with 2 of His disciples and talks to them. He asks about His death and gets told about what happens. He goes home with the 2 disciples and breaks bread with them and drinks wine with them. Then after He leaves the 2 disciples realize that they had just been in the presence of the Resurrected Jesus Christ. He works and surprises people on what He can do. And He does it all for us. He did everything for us. And yet we still sin and turn away from Him. We need to realize that everything we do is in Jesus’ name. So be careful of what you do, say, and think.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
In the image of christ, we are capable of great things. If we fulfill our destiny through him, we will have eternal life in Heaven.
It’s the time that Jesus appeared to his disciples and they don’t thing that it is Jesus
God is a holy interpreter. He can do wondrous things not just by himself but doing through other holy people. In today’s reading a crippled man in begging for alms out of a temple and Peter goes up to him and says “in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazorean, rise and walk.” So in this time Jesus worked through Peter to help bless the man to finally be able to walk.
What stuck out to me was that Jesus uses the breaking of the bread to reveal Himself to the disciples. This stuck out to me because it made me realize how i need to pay attention more in mass because there is a beautiful thing going on right in front of me but i act like i don’t care which i should care i need to talk to Jesus more and i need to get to know him.
I think that in this God is trying to tell me to help others and always make them feel better. Even if you dont have something you can always pray for them to get well or to just be kind to them even if that is the person you hate the most.
In the scripture Peter heals the crippled man. Peter could have been like everyone else entering the temple to pray and just walk past the crippled man. Peter didn’t do that. He healed him like Jesus would have done. We are around people that bring out the good we bring out the good in others. We need to surround ourselves with Jesus so we can become like Jesus.
Jesus keeps telling us to call upon Him whenever we need him. Whether that is through another person or just God. He loves us so much that He gave us everything but there are still hard times that He can help you with. All you have to do is call on Him and He will be there.
We are called to help others just as Peter helped the crippled man. We should love one another just as Jesus loves us because we are all made in the image of God. Helping someone doesn’t have to be a big thing like healing someone, but helping carry things for them or comforting them if the feel sad.
In today’s reading a man gets his ankles strengthened. “I have neither silver nor gold, but what I do have I give you: in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazorean, rise and walk.” They did this to follow Jesus example and to be kind to the man.
Things other people see in us that we don’t see in ourselves. Things ego and a brain have pushed away for so long we forget the things about ourselves. The things people don’t talk to us about but talk to others about because they don’t want to try to help us. what do we really believe in?
“But what I do have I give you: in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, rise and walk.” Then Peter took him by the right hand and raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles grew strong. He leaped up, stood, and walked around, and went into the temple with them, walking and jumping and praising God.” There is absolutely nothing that God cannot do. All you need is faith. As long as you believe in Him you will be forgiven for your sins. No matter how many times you sin God will always forgive us, and give us his grace. Jesus healed people through the apostles.
We are called to help others just as Peter helped the crippled man. We should love one another just as Jesus loves us because we are all made in the image of God. Helping someone doesn’t have to be a big thing like healing someone, but helping carry their things for them or comforting them if the feel sad.
i think todays scripture is a reminder from god that he will heal all we need to do is allow him and accept him, just as the crippled man did. jesus is always helping and healing us we may doubt it because some things might not go in our favor but its all for the better jesus knows what he is doing, he knows his plan for you we just have to let him lead. if it doesnt workout it wasnt meant to be no matter how hurt you are by it. it will pay off with the greatest gift of all living for eternity in heaven with christ. God loves you!!!!!
We are called to be like Peter and lift up others. We are called to take care of those who others completely avoid. We are all crippled in some way and we need Jesus to help us just as Peter called upon him to help the crippled rise and walk.
Today Peter and John were walking into the temple when a beggar asked for money and Peter responds “I have neither silver nor gold,
but what I do have I give you in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazorean, rise and walk.” and this stuck out to me because he said a few words with the Intercession of Jesus and the beggar was healed.
In today’s scripture I learned that Having Jesus with you is more important than having money. In the gospel Jesus is talking to the disciples. The two disciples did not realize Jesus was with them until the breaking of bread. Jesus could be talking to us through others without us knowing. So we always need to be ready for Him to come.
We are all blessed by God. He loves us so much and takes care of us in our time of need. In turn we should those around us because we are all children of God and blessed by God’s will and love.
I know that my scripture reflections usually don´t have anything to do with the readings, but I have other things I want to talk about instead of talking about what everyone else is talking about. Adding on to what I said in yesterday´s scripture reflection, we can´t let some of the things in our life hold us back. First off, if someone says that you have to always pray, you need to put that aside for a sec and figure out what´s right for YOU. Second off, there IS a way that you can balance your Catholic life and your life. I´ll talk more about this tomorrow.
We might not always see Jesus with our mortal eyes, but Jesus is in everything that is beautiful. Open your eyes, and see Him. Let Him show Himself to you, and you will behold God’s beauty.
God always calls us to help others. It doesn’t matter if we have money or gifts to give, but to always be there for someone. Every act of love and kindness is wonderful in God’s eyes. We should never hesitate to help someone in need, even if we don’t like them. When we show love and kindness for others, we show kindness and love for Jesus and God.
This scripture is telling us all we need in our lives is Jesus. When we have Jesus we can do anything Jesus can help us get through anything. Jesus makes our lives so much better.
All Peter could give was the power of Christ. Money didn’t matter to the man after he was finally walking again. This shows that money isn’t the most important or powerful thing in the world. It’s Jesus that is the most powerful and he should be the center of our life.
what the scripture is telling me is that jesus works through others because the crippled guy couldnt walk until peter said in the name of Jesus of nazareth. you have to beleive that Jesus is really working through others for miracles to work. God is present in us and we have the power to profess the name of God.
I think this scripture is about the great power of God. God is not the only one who can heal others. We can pray to God and ask for his healing. We ourselves can also heal if we pray. We can heal others mentally and physically. God has blessed us with the power of prayer and the knowledge of how to heal others.
We need to help each other. We all struggle with things in life and we excel with things in life. But, some people struggle with things more than us and we have to help them. If you don’t want to help; put yourself in their shoes and feel how you would feel if you were in that situation. Would you want help? We are all children of God and we have to help each other no matter what.
In this scripture a crippled man walks. Jesus heals him and he can now walk again. Jesus didn’t have to heal him but he did for the love of the man. People are now starting to believe that Jesus is who he says he is because he has healed a man who was said to never walk again.
Jesus is alive and He is real. He is always with us. We see Him revealing Himself in the Eucharist every time we go to mass. All we have to do is believe in Him and have faith in Him.
Jesus is the son of god and with that he can so mericals. if we ask we shall receive and Jesus wants us to ask for him to help. he wants us to reach out to him for help and be with him. if you are ever struggling ask him for help and he will Gide you through the situation in your life and help you to be in the rite path. anything is possible with god on your side.
at the last supper when Jesus instated the priest hood the apostles were given the power to great things in the name of Jesus. They went around healing and preaching the news of the gospel. Priests today have been carrying on what was started by the apostles, it was passed on through tradition and scripture and we still keep it today.
In today’s gospel peter helps a man. Peter says he has no gold or silver but instead he put his hands out and gave him Jesus and healed him. This story can kinda relate to the present time because in our time we always want money power and wealth but really the only thing we need in life is Jesus. Christ so like Peter did instead of silver or gold choose Jesus the Messiah.
A crippled man would always sit at the temple and beg. Peter had no money to give so he had the love of God, he asked him to heal the crippled man. This goes along with the saying With God all things are possible. Peter believed in God and he knew that he would heal the crippled man. After he was healed the crippled man rejoiced and praised the Lord. God does so much for us, but it all goes unnoticed. The crippled man was so excited and he praised God for what he had done, which is what we should be doing.
What I got out of today’s gospel is that we see the good things that happen to us throughout our life, but we do not recognize that God is the one that made that happen to us. We need to praise God, because without Him nothing would be good.
“In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazorean, rise and walk.” This stood out to me because they were not Jesus Christ but yet they were followers of Him. We maybe can’t do miracles but we can always help someone in need. Helping people is kind of our way of performing miracles, if that makes sense. We are here on Earth to care for one another and help one another. We are here for a purpose that God only knows. We are created the way we are.
This scripture shows us that following Christ’s example. It’s easy to watch someone else do good things, like how the apostles watched Jesus perform miracles, But it’s hard to actually do what we are supposed to do. We should follow Jesus’ and the apostles example.
When i read this gospel it made me think of how much Christ can work through us. He is so powerful and peter and John loved and believed God that he worked through them to help a poor man. Peter and John had nothing with a price to give the man so they gave what they had. They shared their faith.
“in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazorean, rise” Jesus’ apostles saw all of His miracles. They saw what he could do through God’s name. They knew all of this and they did as Jesus told them to. They healed people and preached the Word of God to everyone. We need to be like Jesus’ apostles and preach the Gospel.
“Peter said, “I have neither silver nor gold, but what I do have I give you: in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazorean, rise and walk.” It’s crazy how not only Jesus can do miracles, Peter can too. If I was the man I would have been memorized by what had happened to me. As the man, I feel like it would be hard to tell people how you became “uncrippled”, but I feel like the man trusted in Jesus.
This tells us that we are meant to help and care for others. God helped anyone no matter their looks or wealth, he did not care because everyone is created uniquely and equally in the image and likeness of God. We are not better or worse than anyone around us, therefor we should help anyone because you never know when you will need help.
The hard work in our life will pay off, In this scripture the crippled man sitting by the gate would beg people that would walk by for alms. In todays scripture He tried to get alms from Peter and John and Peter not having anything on him he said everything I have I give to you, Stand and rise in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazorean.
The main message I took from this is that we have to be open and willing to help the helpless, they need it. Jesus always helps us and is by our side when we feel alone, so be comforting to them.
Jesus passed on His power of healing to His disciples so that they could help others as well. I think that we have finally learned the extent of Jesus power and love for us, and they are using that knowledge to spread the word. In today’s scripture, Peter and John see a man who couldn’t walk. Peter, instead of giving money, gives him the gift to walk. We should remember how fortunate we are rather than thing about money as a way to be happy.
Peter said, “I have neither silver nor gold, but what I do have I give you: in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazorean”. We don’t need the treasures of the world. We need money, but think about all the things we really don’t need. Think about all the junk that just sits around in your house. No amount of treasure can ever compare to the power of Jesus. No treasure can compare to the love of Jesus. Jesus’ love is everlasting. The true treasure that we need is Jesus Christ himself. If anything in the world should be classified a treasure, it should be the Eucharist.
Something that stuck out to me was this part of the Scripture: “but what I do have I give you: in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazorean, rise and walk.” Here, Peter first used the name of Christ to heal someone after Christ’s death and resurrection. Peter made a man who couldn’t walk, one who had to be carried around everywhere, walk. If Peter could do this, imagine what we could do with the intercession of Christ. We need to ask Jesus for help, pray with His intercession, and like the Bible says, we can do all things through Him.
It is saying that God can give us so much more than gold or silver. God is something that can be with us for eternity, all the things that we might want won’t be with us when we go to heaven.
this Scripture is talking about how john and peter went to the temple and they found someone who had been cripples since birth and peter makes him finally walk and there is many people witnessing this at its going down and, the temple is amazing temple it looks stunning. But the thing that stick out to me the most is when peter talks to the cripple man and he says that he does´t have silver or gold but instead he says in the name of Jesus i commend you to talk and it stick out because it trying to us that praying can do marvelous deeds if we really put out time and effort into it.
I think today’s Scripture is saying we can do anything through Jesus. The name of Jesus is very powerful. “I have neither silver nor gold, but what I do have I give you: in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazorean, rise and walk.” Peter made the man walk through Jesus’ name. Jesus’ name is so powerful and it can do many things. When we say Jesus’ name it has power. There is power in those words. We have to believe that we can do anything through Jesus.
I think the scripture is telling us not only is patience important but so is helping others. The blind man was waiting and begging for alms not complaining about his legs just begging for alms, Peter and John walk up to him and the blind man begs for alms from them; instead of Peter and John giving him alms, they helped him more than he thought they would. Peter made the man be able to walk again through Jesus. Jesus is always there to help us, as should we be willing and happy to help others.
In the Scripture today I think it is talking about how Jesus is always gonna be there for us. Jesus no matter what we do He is gonna be there for us and sometimes I think we just maybe forget He is here with us. We have to know He is by our side at all times and it is amazing for Him to be there because if we mess up and do something wrong He is gonna be right there still telling us to come closer to Him. Eventually He opens the Gateway for us to Heaven and it is the best place we can be.
This is a really cool scene we read about here. Jesus has givin his power to Peter and John, and they are taking up Jesus’ mantel, sort of becoming the first priests in a way, representing Jesus when he is gone.
Do believe in God? It is a heavy question. I know for me there is times I believe, and time I definitely do not believe. God loves us sooooooooo much. He is the reason we have the ability to wake up and the ability to go to sleep. God loves us more than anything we can think of. Trust, trust, trust. That is all we have to do. Trust in Him and receive Him. Want to know Him, and you will know Him. God wants you, do you want Him?
I think we have to remember that faith grows over time. We can see this in the second passage. This will happen to us if we let it. If we let Jesus change us, he will.
Jesus wants us to go out and help others in the world. Jesus helped others by dying on the cross and saving our sins, but then he rose again to save us and be with us for eternity. He helped us by saving us from our sins. Just as we should go help others and get them closer to God.
I think that God is trying to tell us that he is capable fo anything and so are we if we pray to him and believe in him. The homeless man couldnt walk and wanted money but the apostles gave him a better gift to walk
“they were filled with amazement and astonishment” I think thsi is us when we really try to reach out to God, or when he helps us, Hes always gonna be here for you so listen to him and see what he has to say.
As Christians we are called to help others, the greatest in need. And We are to take care of those who nobody else will even come close to.

The man was expecting gold or silver. Yet, instead he got the name of Jesus Christ! God gives us amazing things, but sometimes we push them away because we want something else, but God knows everything. He knows what’s best for us, and what will hurt us even more. We turn away from God and sin because we think that the sin will make us happy. But we need to just submit to God, and he will give us so much more!
“I have neither silver nor gold, but what I do have I give you” This stuck out to me because we don’t have to physically give anything to God but all he wants is us to believe and follow and spread the word of God. All he wants is us to pray . He just doesn’t want us to drift away and get lost with the devil.
Jesus gave the apostles this incredible power for being faithful. Peter used his for good, and actually helped someone. We should find our gifts so that we can help someone too.
As Christians we are called to help others, the greatest in need. We are to take care of those who nobody else will even come close to. We are called to help those in need. God helps us every day and forgives us for everything that we do no matter what it is he will always love us and we just help people and He will be so happy and exciting for every little good deed we do. If God died for us and we do nothing in return not even help someone is sad since that is as easy as a compliment.
No one likes to see people suffer. Especially if that someone is someone you love. Jesus was betrayed by the people He loved most and He still wanted the very best for all of them. We should always love one another even if it makes us look stupid or weak.It doesn’t matter if it’ll embarrass you we just need to have each other’s backs.
When Peter said “I have silver nor gold” that stuck out to me because we may not have money to give to the Church but we can give our time and/or talents to the Church.
Jesus wants to open our eyes. we are not going to get them open if you don’t pray and read your bible and just say that you believe. you have to give time to God and we have started reading the bible and praying. We have to truly love God for what he did for us. He enjoys us reading the bible and praying and talking to him. We need to grow a better relationship with him and don’t just say you believe you have to actually mean it .
“I have neither silver nor gold, but what I do have I give you: in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazorean, rise and walk.” God doesn’t want us to think that you have to give away everything you have in order to become a saint. God doesn’t care how much money we have, because money doesn’t define someone. God asks us to give up our life to praise him, by this he isn’t trying to tell us that we should get rid of everything we own, he is telling us to praise him with our whole life and to put him above everything else.
I find the passage from Acts of the Apostles very fascinating. Peter and John helped a crippled man walk again. As Catholics, we are supposed to help people we like and dislike.
What I think this scripture is telling us today is that we need to help people even people who are lower than us just like Jesus does for us. I think the reason why we should help people is to become a better person and to set an example of Christ to others.
“Peter said, “I have neither silver nor gold, but what I do have I give you: in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazorean, rise and walk.” This stuck out to me because Peter is telling the guy that he doesn’t have any money but then he tells the guy to get up and walk. Peter didn’t have anything nice but he did have faith. When you have faith and you believe you can do anything. He made a crippled man get up and walk. We need to have faith in God and trust Him. If we do, we can do anything.
in this scripture reflection Peter and John walk to the temple to pray and they a beggar that is crippled and in Jesus’s name he could walk again what this shows us is that as Christians we need to help others even if you don’t want to very much you must strive to help others in anyway you can.
Today the scripture said to me that we are called to help others. After Jesus died the apostles were fearful and then they where bestowed with the holy spirit. Then the apostles were filled with hope and they could speak all the languages. They started preaching Gods word to the people who hadn’t heard it. when the where going to the temple they found a crippled man and healed him in Gods name. this is a miracle that cannot be done without the help of God. Philippians 3:13 ” i can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.” This passage says what the disciples are doing they are doing amazing deeds for the good of others they are asking God to help the man and he does.
When they told the man ¨ rise up and pick up your mat he immediately did so and was no longer crippled. While this happened literally you can also look at it metaphorically. He was crippled and he was also asking for money, this can show that he had gotten used to being crippled and money was one of his main problems. But this can also show that the fact that he was crippled could represent some form of sin that is keeping you farther away from God and rather than trying to fix it you get distracted very easily by other less important things. I think that this is saying to stop focusing on the less important things and focus on God.
“When all the people saw him walking and praising God, they recognized him as the one who used to sit begging at the Beautiful Gate of the temple,” if God has the ability to take someone who has been paralyzed from birth and make them able to run and jump like they were never crippled. if he can do this, he can undoubtedly do miracles, he even raised Lazarus from the dead! if he is able to do these, than he is able to punish us astronomically more than anything we could have ever imagined. yet he only punishes us when we have shunned him and cursed him. he loves with enormous proportions. if you take the love of the entire human race and multiply it to the millionth power, that will show one billionth of the love that God has for us
In todays scripture the man who got healed was very happy. I feel like this shows how we act. We get so happy when things go out way but sometimes we forget how they went our way. We have to remember that everything that happens for a reason. Nothing is ever a coincidence. God knows us!
Then Peter took him by the right hand and raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles grew strong. He leaped up, stood, and walked around, and went into the temple with them, walking and jumping and praising God. We are called to help one another and spread the word of God. In the Gospel Peter helped the crippled man and he suddenly believe in God and praised Him.
This scripture shows us that all things are possible in God.
Today in scripture we learn Jesus is still healing no matter what phase he’s going through. Holy Spirit, at the right hand of the father, and even being alive coming down to earth. He would walk and healed wherever he went and we still killed him. He spoke to the women that followed him his whole life and tell the people he has RISEN!!!!
As Christians, we are called to help each other, and in doing so, the Scriptures will be revealed to us. If we believe, then we will be saved.
“in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazorean, rise and walk.” Jesus Name is SO Powerful just saying it people can be healed
Jesus helped a man even when he died and he showed us even when he is dead he can see us and help us through life.
