“BLESSED ARE YOU WHO BELIEVED THAT WHAT WAS SPOKEN TO YOU BY THE LORD WOULD BE FULFILLED.” LK 1:39-45
Humbly submit your will to God (thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
Prayer Prompt before reading LK 1:39-45: Come, Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray, interpret the Scriptures for me so that I may know the Truth about who God the Father and God the Son are so that I may know who I am.
Today, the Gospel shares the Catholic belief that John the Baptist’s Original Sin was taken away when “the infant leaped in her womb”. The focus though is the contrast of Zechariah’s disbelief and Mary’s complete trust in God.
We receive the second part of the Hail Mary, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb.” Most importantly, Elizabeth is speaking right to our heart today, “Blessed are you who believed that what was spoken to you by the Lord would be fulfilled.”
The Scriptures are here to guide us, but in your heart you must truly convert and make God the most important part of your life, the center. He desires a daily relationship with you. He has so much to give you because He wants you to come home to Him as your Creator through His Son Jesus.
Mary teaches us that once we have been given our mission and purpose from God (Annunciation-be the Mother of God), we are then called to serve. Mary “makes haste” to the hill country to serve Elizabeth for 3 months until John the Baptist is born from her womb. Mary believed and trusted completely in God, may we use her as our perfect model and trust her to intercede for us in this “valley of tears” so that we may one day be with the Lord in heaven, too!
Today’s challenge: Pray a rosary asking Mary to intercede the deepest desire of your heart to the Lord.
Is that desire a material thing which will pass, or love, joy, peace, forgiveness in relationships that will go with you into eternity?

Be a servant, be a saint today!
