Prayer Prompt before reading LK 11:5-13 Come, Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray, interpret the Scriptures for me so that I may know the Truth about who God the Father is and God the Son so that I may know who I am.
“ASK AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE; SEEK AND YOU SHALL FIND.” LK 11:5-13
Humbly submit your will to God (thy will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
Today, Jesus reminds us to ask God for whatever we need for our body and soul. Yesterday, Jesus taught us how to approach the Father in prayer through the Our Father prayer which has the 7 petitions to ask God the Father for everything we need (7 is the number of perfection in the Bible).
Today, I want you to reflect on what you’re asking for. What we want or what God has in store for us. Do we know what God wants for us or made us for. Jesus is letting us know today that the Father will take good care of us if we allow Him to. We are called and chosen to rest in His arms and allow Him to love us.
Jesus tells us if we seek the Truth (God) we will find Him. If we ask the Father for the Holy Spirit, He will give it to us. Even though God knows what you will be asking for, He wants you to ask, to make a friendship with Him, to allow Him to be your Father and help you. We often ask for too little and the Father has so much to give. It is important to know our identity in Christ, or the Father’s plan for our salvation as we approach Him in prayer.
Jesus is with you in your prayer, He cries with you in your suffering, He rejoices with you when you feel sorrow for your sin and ask for forgiveness for this is why He died. Remember, you may not receive what you are asking for if it is not God’s will.
He may be asking you to carry a cross to purify your soul in preparation for heaven or He may be testing your faithfulness to Him. He knows you and loves you more than you know and love yourself. He knows how to help you gain salvation. He wants you to participate in your salvation. Accept it with open arms and be ready to ask for His grace for the battle.
“God knows you better than you know yourself, God loves you more than you love yourself, God wants you to know His Will.” -Fr. Mike Schmitz
Today’s challenge: Allow God to help you, pray, seek, ask!
Be a servant, become a saint!
#Christian YODO (You Only Die Once; we will live again!)
212-God is all in for you, our response-all in for God
Even though God knows what you will be asking for, He wants you to ask, to make a friendship with Him, to allow Him to be your Father and help you. We often ask for too little and the Father has so much to give. This stood out to me because I think everybody has asked too little of God and Jesus. I think that if we all asked a little bit more from Him, we would see that He is the only thing that we currently need, and the only thing we will ever need.
“ASK AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE; SEEK AND YOU SHALL FIND.” LK 11:5-13. This stood out to me because Jesus is saying that if we ask we shall receive and that if we seek we shall then find. Finally why this stood out to me is because what ever we ask Jesus we shall receive what we are looking for.
“And I tell you, ask and you will receive;
seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks, receives;
and the one who seeks, finds;
and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”
This mart stuck out to me because, if you ask you will receive, if you don’t ask you may not receive. If you knock the door/gate to the kingdom of heaven the door shall be opened for you. If you seek Gods, love and attention, you shall find God’s love and attention. If you seek holiness, prayer, justice, you shall find that within the presence of God.
this gospel showed that even when we are in the lowest parts of our life and feel we have no relationship with God, we can still ask him and talk to him to further strengthen the relationship with him. for he says “And I tell you, ask and you will receive;
seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” no relationship with God is ever to far gone, no matter where you think you stand with him he will always have love in his heart for each and every one of us.
I agree. Love just accepts others right where they are.
i think the phrase “Jesus tells us if we seek the Truth (God) we will find Him.” Tells us everything leads back to God. At the beginning of time he was there. everybody we love was created by him. All we know God made, and everything you look at leads back to God in someway.
I agree. Awareness is a key to prayer. It gives us the opportunity to see and hear what God has revealed.
If you don’t answer the door then you will never see what was on the other side of the door. Jesus is always waiting for us on the other side. He never leaves, He just sits there and waits for us to accept him. If we reject Him, He won’t walk away He will just wait there in silence and will knock every once in a while.
Today in the Gospel, Jesus tells us to ask. I feel like asking is almost like making sure. Jesus wants us to make sure that we are fully on board with Him. We need to give our life to Jesus, and let go. If we ask for forgiveness, He will forgive. If we need something, He will be there. If we just need to talk with our Lord, He is ready to talk. Make sure that you are ready for Jesus, for we do not know what will come along the way.
Jesus today, tells us we NEED to be persistent if we do not get the things we need we should ask again and again.
He is telling me that as long as we keep asking, our sins will be forgiven of us because the Father is good.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus is saying we need to be patient and wait for the good things to come to us. In heaven, we will have all of the things we will ever need and all we have to do is be patient (and obviously do what it takes down here to get up there). When Jesus says “Ask and you shall receive” He means that God will help you, as long as you ask; be persistent.
“Ask and you will receive.” Whenever you come to God asking for forgiveness or even to help you with something you are strugging with does he decline? No. Jesus wants us to treat everyone else how he treats us. Once you can do that you are so much happier. So the next time someone asks something if you find time out of your way and do what Jesus would do for us.
In this gospel reflection, what really stood out to me is about how Jesus is always with us. He’s with us when we are joyful and celebrates with us, hes with us when were sad and cries with us in our sorrows. It shows that we should never feel ashamed of our feelings because Jesus will understand. As long as we remember that everything that happens is in Gods hands we will be ok.
Today’s scripture is trying to tell me that even though God knows what you will be asking of Him in prayer he still wants you to ask. We also need to approach Jesus in prayer more often overall. God wants us to make a friendship with him and allow him to help us with our needs. The scripture says we often ask for too little, when he has so much more to give. That stuck out to me because sometimes I feel like I don’t reach out to Him in prayer enough.
Today was a bit different that all the other times because this time was talking to me in a different way than normal.
How did it speak to you differently?
In today’s Gospel Jesus said to his disciples ” and I tell you, ask and you shall receive; seek and you shall find; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”
The Father will give you everything that you ask for; that you seek for; and knock for. That just shows how much the Father loves us
I think Jesus is trying to say that if you try and you mean it, it will come to you and you will be given what you need in Christ. Just pray and believe and do what Jesus asks. Live a life that means and live a life with God. Recently I thought I needed a break from everything, even God, but what I really needed was especially God. I didn’t know it at the time but I was craving to go to Jesus but I just wanted to be in silence, just me and Him. So that’s what I did and I immediately stopped crying and it felt like I was being comforted, like someone was right there next to me, sitting by me while I was crying about my wants, and a voice said “It’s okay, everything will be alright. Just breathe. I’m here, I’m here” and in that moment… everything was going to be okay.
Beautiful testimony, Amelia! God is good!
In today’s Gospel is it talking about how we have to share and hit each other with kindness and love. Jesus is teaching us that when we offer something we are empowered by the spirit and a new door is open unto us. A new journey is ahead because Jesus did the same thing for us by giving us his body and blood. So always offer to your brothers and sisters in Christ because that is what Jesus teaches us to do.
Today, Jesus reminds us to ask God for whatever we need for our body and soul.Jesus tells us if we seek the Truth god we will find Him.
God is telling me that if you ask you shall be answered and just keep knocking but sometimes its hard for us to ask so we should listen to Jesus and his teachings by reading the Bible, say the rosary, and pray. Because everything leads back to God.
Todays gospel is telling us to ask, telling us to seek for guidence, in our catholic life and in many other ways. In his words he says “And I tell you, ask and you will receive;
seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks, receives;
and the one who seeks, finds;
and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. ¨
He then tells us that only a good person in a friendship would give, and guide us, they help us through life. Good luck, and God bless!
I really like how the gospel states that when you ask you shall receive. I also really like the way that Jesus uses friends in this gospel as an example. This gospel has always been in my mind since the first time I heard it and I hope you have the same feelings to.
“And to the one who knocks, the door will be opened”. This means that God will open the door to all of our needs no matter what it is God will always be there with the door open. God will never shut you out some kids may say bad things about you are gossip but God will NEVER gossip about you or say bad things he will always complement you and never put you down. So ask and you shall receive.
In today’s gospel Jesus says, “ask and you will receive.” To me that means that He wants us to go to Him and God for whatever we need whenever. If we’re struggling pray and ask God for help and guidance. God sends down the Holy Spirit to help us and guide us. God also tells us to seek him when you’re lost and have no way or no one.
In the gospel Jeaus says “And I tell you, ask and you will receive” which tells you that you must ask to recive and not just expect things. It also shows that God loves us so much that if we ask for something we will recive it. A lot of times people just expect people to give them what they want or need. Imagine how much better our world would be if people actually asked for the things they need.
Jesus tells us if we seek the Truth (God) we will find Him. If we ask the Father for the Holy Spirit, He will give it to us. Even though God knows what you will be asking for, He wants you to ask, to make a friendship with Him, to allow Him to be your Father and help you.“God knows you better than you know yourself, God loves you more than you love yourself, God wants you to know His Will.”We are called and chosen to rest in His arms and allow Him to love us.
He is telling us to open our hearts to him and that we need him as much as he loves us.
he is trying to say that we don’t know who we are but god does so you should ask him who I am and if it is hill will he will tell you but if it is not keep on asking don’t let one single no be the only no so keep on asking and he will tell you who you are through the gosple
In the gospel, Jesus talked about how if you ask you shall receive and if you seek you will find. Jesus is trying to tell us to always open the door and to help people. He wants us to be a good person who Is persistent.
What stuck out to me in today’s Gospel was when Jesus tells the parable about how persistence will get you what you want. I take this into mind thinking about how we need to continually pray to God with persistence. He also talks about how we can knock and the door will be opened. I think combining this can help you come to the conclusion that living a holy life with consistent prayer throughout is one lesson Jesus is trying to address today. God is good and we need to reach out to him.
In today’s gospel,Jesus is trying to tell us to ask more questions about the faith and he will answer or send someone to answer for him.
Today in the Gospel Jesus says to his disciples “ASK AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE; SEEK AND YOU SHALL FIND.” That really stood out to me because Jesus only speaks the truth. “Ask and you shall receive” because whenever you ask for something you will receive it. “Seek and you shall find” because whenever you seek for something and you look hard enough for it you will ALWAYS find it.
“And to the one who knocks, the door will be opened”. This means that God will always be there with his door wide open. Some people will talk bad about you or gossip about you God will NEVER gossip or talk bad about you. He loves you.
In today’s gospel he is speaking about if you be kind you will be returned with love and kindness.
He is telling us how much He love us and cares for us.
Jesus means com receive him and go to confeshon and ask for forgivnes and he will give you it.
In todays gospel, Jesus talks about our friendship. He says that we should give to those who are persistent and those who seek will find good in themselves.
If we ask Jesus we will receive and if we seek we shall find.
“And I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives”. This stood out to me because God is saying id you ask him something you will receive it even if its not right away. He is also saying if you search hard enough for something you will find it eventually.
He may be asking you to carry a cross to purify your soul in preparation for heaven o the may be testing your faithfulness to him really stands out to me because I’m going through some things with friends that are making me second guess thing.
“…interpret the Scriptures for me so that I may know the Truth about who God the Father is and God the Son so that I may know who I am.” I read this and it just kept on coming back to me. It just seems really important. Meaning we truly don’t know ourselves unless we know the Lord first.
This scripsher reflection shows me that if you look for Him you will find Him.
“And I tell you, ask and you will receive;
seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you. i think jesus said this because if we dont ask or try, then we would not be able to find stuff out.
I think the gospel is trying to tell us to give people what they asked for, not to play a cruel trick on them.
I thought that the entire Gospel was really good and when he said “Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit
to those who ask him?” was really good too.
Today’s gospel says this “If you then, who are wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?” This shows that God’s gifts of the Holy Spirit are greater than those we could ever give.
In the Gospel it talks about seeking and you shall find knock and the door will be opened. In my point of view I see it as if you were to have a little sibling (like 2 or 3 years old) and they asked you for a knife would you give it to them? No you most likely would not. Why because they could hurt or damage things and themselves. It’s just like asking God for things if you ask for something and God knows your not ready for it or it’s going to do you harm he will not give it to you.
In today’s gospel a quote that stuck out to me was “ask and you shall receive” this means that whenever you need something you can always go to God and he will answer for you.
In today’s gospel it says “Ask and you will receive.” witch means to ask God when you have any problems and he will help you solve them.
God has so much to give and yet we often don’t ask for enough which is why we must ask God for his grace and accept salvation with open arms. God is willing to give us what we want or need if we ask as long as it’s part of his will.
“ASK AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE; SEEK AND YOU SHALL FIND.” what this means to me is that we can’t just wait for God to come to us but we need to meet him there. We must seek God’s eternal mercy because God will always loves us until the end.
” He knows you and loves you more than you know and love yourself. He knows how to help you gain salvation.” You don’t know yourself as well as God does because He loves you so much and wants you to figure yourself out and by doing that you just have to talk to Him. Pray as well.
I think Jesus is telling us to pray when we are in need. If we really need it and pray for it God will provide.This might not be right away. It could take days, weeks, months, years. God is the provider and he loves us
He may be asking you to carry a cross to purify your soul in preparation for heaven or He may be testing your faithfulness to Him.¨ This stuck out to me because we can all say we would do anything for God but when it really comes down to the moment would we. This makes me think about how my life is easier than others who cant worship freely.
When I read today’s Gospel, I realized that I had never read it before. At first, it sounded kind of shallow, but when I read it again, I felt like I was able to understand it in a deeper way. “I tell you, if he does not get up to give him the loaves because of their friendship, he will get up to give him whatever he needs because of his persistence.” I liked this last message from the Gospel I feel like God was really trying to speak to me through it.
Today gospel I think talks about how good of a friend Jesus is because the scripture says “And I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds;” so God will always be there for us and his friendship is never ending because he has great love for all of us.
“Remember, you may not receive what you are asking for if it is not God’s will. ” God knows and gives us what we need. When we call for something and we dont receive it, it wasn’t part of Gods will. God has a separate plan for each and everyone one of us and when we ask we will receive.
I think that Jesus is trying to tell us that he can give us anything if we put our minds to it. Jesus will always give you something if you’re in need of it.
In today’s Scripture Jesus is trying to tell me that we need to seek him out. Not just like know him but look for him take a deep dive down into his word. He will give us an amazing gift if we truly seek him out and not waiver. We must be his servant seek and we will receive.
In today’s gospel Jesus tells us to ask and we shall receive. God wants us to ask him for help and all the things we need. He also tells us that He would never do something to harm us. God is very loving and kind so if you ask for something and he doesnt give it to you, it might not be in your best interests.
In today´s Gospel Jesus is talking to the disciples about how if they ask something that it will be granted upon them if they have faith. Many times in the gospel after Jesus does miracles He says that your faith has saved you. Our faith depends on everything and is the key to getting into heaven. If me have faith is God then if we knock on the doors of heaven they will be opened
What I think the Lord is trying to tell me is that he will always open the door for anyone who is hurt or hurting. He will always give us help and love.
Even though God always knows what your going to ask for he wants you to ask, “Ask and you shall recieve”
Todayś gospel calls us to trust in Christ. For he knows us more than you know yourself. He made every single part of out bodies, mind, heart, and soul. He calls us to believe in him so we can eternally live with him in paradise.
In today´s Gospel Jesus is talking about ask and you shall receive
seek and you shall find what that means if you ask God for forgiveness
he will give it to you and if you pray to \him he will answer it.
something that stuck with me when i read this is that our lord wants us to make a friendship with. he is always there, listens, knows your pain, suffers with you, and also he helps you on to becoming a better person who wouldnt want a better friend. Jesus has always been with us through the highs and the lows. our Lord knows when were suffering and when were not our Lord just wants us to become a better person and to be his friend/son. our Father loves us so much and he can help us if we let him help us
The message I got from today’s gospel is that God will always listen to our prayers. I believe that him listening to our prayers doesn’t necessarily mean that he will take action. I think that he will always give us what we truly need, not what we want. God knows what’s best for us.
The message I got from this is that Jesus is promising that those who seek will find and those who knock they will be welcomed in by the Father.
Today in the Gospel Jesus says to the disciples “And I tell you, ask and you will receive;seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks, receives;
and the one who seeks, finds;
and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
If you are persistent with your faith and stay with God you will get the greatest reward, Heaven. If you dont be persistant you will lose your faith and go down the wrong path.
¨For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds;¨ i think that thsi means God will try to come to you but you have to make an effort for God. You have to talk to him as much as he trys to talk to you. If you pray and talk to him he will answer him.
I think the Gospel is telling us that even when we are at our lowest and we feel like we have no one or nothing to lean on God will be there. Sometimes we get to a point in our emotions where we wont let anyone in but if we let God in he can and will help us.
In today’s Gospel it tells us that if you ask them you shall receive and if you seek you shall find, and if you knock the door shall be opened to you. He tells us that if someone asks you for something you should get it. He is telling us that denying is wrong. And if someone asks you for something and you give something that is the total opposite. What he is trying to tell us that if you are the one who does this you are wicked.
I think this Gospel reminds me that God is very giving. Hes willing to give us the Holy Spirit and let us into Heaven with him. He lets us do all of this and still gives us a choice to believe in Him or not.
Today Jesus tells us bout the Father. He tells us that the father can and will give us what we need from him. He will always answer our prayers although not always in the way we might expect. He always makes things turn out for the best in the end. He has a plan for us and we must always follow his will not our own in life. If we do that our reward will great in heaven.
“For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds;” This stood out to me because this shows that whatever your seeking, God will give to you. God will always forgive you. If you follow him you will have no desires for worldy things too. Seek God and you will live a happy life with him for eternity. Ask for his forgiveness.
I think today in the Gospel God is telling me that I do not need to be afraid to ask Him anything, and He will provide me with everything I need.
I am receiving the facts and information that God Works in many ways. Ask and you shall receive. Or seek and you shall find. this is the main point everybody uses mostly cause God sticks out to many people so they can understand his love and interest in finding a relation ship between us. I pray that anyone who encounters this and anyone they know have a blessed rest of their day and that anyone who is troubled or others who are trying to find Jesus in their heart. Through the intercession of the Virgin Mary and the Holy Spirit Amen.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus tells his disciples “ask and you will receive; seek and you will find….” This tells us to be persistent and consistent in our relationship with God. God is a Father, but he is also a friend. He’s not a person we meet because we’re told to, much like how our parents call their family members and make us say ‘hi.’ He is a person where we build a relationship with. Even though he knows basically everything about us, he still enjoys our time with him. So, take some time and reflect on the things that make you happy and know that God created them and take some time to thank God for his creations.
Today Jesus is really showing us that we can ask for anything. But with that we may not ask for whatever we want like social media followers or a new phone. God is here to help you spiritually not with physical items. Real friends are here to help you through hard times not give you everything you want but everything you need. Jesus is our good true friend that we have to get to know. The more you know him the more you pray the more the door will open and the more the gifts will be given unto you. But the key as mentioned in the Gospel is persistence.
in Thursday’s Gospel Jesus us that you who reject others rejects Jesus and whoever rejects Jesus rejects all that He and God have done for us.
¨I tell you, if he does not get up to give him the loaves because of their friendship, he will get up to give him whatever he needs
because of his persistence.¨ Having persistence in any relationship is very good especially with God. Having persistence with someone means that even if things are hard or get in rough times you push through and still have faith in that person that still want that relationship with them. This is good for God because sometimes we can question our faith and wonder if we still believe in God but in that moment we should add persistence to that situation with him. Overall persistence is a great quality to have in your relationship with God
in today’s scripture it talks about how Jesus is always shown in our prayers and when we ask for forgiveness. Jesus is with you in your prayer, He cries with you in your suffering, He rejoices with you when you feel sorrow for your sin and ask for forgiveness for this is why He died. Jesus always asks us to seek of forgiveness and to seek the truth and the way of life, which is God. He tells us to read our bibles and to pray our rosaries.He may be asking you to carry a cross to purify your soul in preparation for heaven or He may be testing your faithfulness to Him.
What father among you would hand his son a snake
when he asks for a fish? Whenever your neighbor asks you to do something, if we can I think we should. Helping others and spreading God’s love is what its all about.
In today’s gospel Jesus says “And I tell you, ask and you will receive;seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds;. I think he is trying to tell us that even if we are all cozied up in bed even if we are playing video games having the time of our lives we still must make time for the Lord to be in our lives and to serve him.
When Jesus says “Knock and the door will be opened to you” I think that he is trying to tell us that if we persist in our pursuit of him, we will get both to heaven and good things.
God may already know what you want to ask, but he want to hear you ask for it and be persistent. He says “Ask and you shall receive”. God wants us to come to him with our wants and needs, and ask and we shall receive. If we do wrong unto God we should ask for forgiveness.
“Jesus is letting us know today that the Father will take good care of us if we allow Him to.” This stook out ot me because the choice is all up to us we have todecide if we choose God or other things.
Jesus is always there for you he loves you and wants you to be the best version of yourself. he is always there; and we need to keep our ears open to hear his call to whatever he wants us to do.
we need to trust in God and let him be in controll ‘theyill be done’ if you live by your way and rely on yourself you are saying my will be done we should always look to the father and thank him for his services because he will always love you forgive you and serve you he will cry when your sad and will rejoice when you are so have persistance so ask God and keep on going to him again and again and again because he will answer you
The part that stuck out to me from this reading was when Jesus says “And I tell you, ask and you will receive;
seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” To me this means that God is willing to give us whatever we need from him as long as we ask of it and if we ask for his help he will help us even if we don’t notice.
I think the Gosple is trying to tell me that ask Jesus stuff and help other people who need help. Dont just turn them away and just because they ask for your help. Then also help others in need when they ask you it could be something little or something bigger
IF YOU ASK YOU WILL RECEIVE.
It like if you ask someone to get some water they will but, if you don’t ask they won’t know and they want give you water because you did ask.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus says to ask God if we need anything and He will give us everything we need for our souls.
In todays Gospel I think God is trying to tell me to listen to him and to not be selfish because that is not how we get to heaven. We need to put others before ourselves and give to the people in need that need your grace and love.
I think the gospel is telling me not to be afraid to ask God for anything. Because God will give you anything you need.
“For everyone who asks, receives;
and the one who seeks, finds”
Even if we feel we aren’t close to God, He is still here for us and willing to give his children what they ask of him.
“And I tell you, ask and you will receive;
seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks, receives;
and the one who seeks, finds;
and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”
I think that this stood out to me most because every time i have listened to someone give this gospel, i remember hearing this phrase. it also reminds me that god will always be there when i knock on his door, seek him, knock, and ask
“And I tell you, ask and you will receive;
seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you” I think that God is trying to say that being a good person will lead to good things. And to not be selfish.
What I took from the gospel is that God will always be there for us. God loves us more than anyone else and knows us better than we know ourselves. We always need to be ready for when God will try to talk to us.
