Prayer Prompt before reading MT 9:32-38: Come, Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray, interpret the Scriptures for me so that I may know the Truth about who God the Father is and God the Son so that I may know who I am.
AT THE SIGHT OF THE CROWDS, HIS HEART WAS MOVED WITH PITY FOR THEM BECAUSE THEY WERE TROUBLED AND ABANDONED, LIKE SHEEP WITHOUT A SHEPHERD. MT 9:32-38
Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
When we are troubled and feel abandoned, Jesus continues to look at us with pity. His heart is always moved for those who need His help. Everyone sins and suffers. Jesus is the cure. When we live for Jesus and allow the Spirit to guide our lives we, too, are called to help those in need.
Jesus wants us to ask God to send out laborers for His harvest. This is the call of the baptized. When we allow God to transform us through His grace, we put on the armor of God and prepare for battle. Our faith is personal, but it is not private and should not be kept to ourselves.
Pray for an increase in vocations to religious life and the priesthood (our souls need the sacraments and guidance of priests and religious). Pray for our bishop and all priests and religious. Pray for marriages and raising children to be laborers for the harvest. Pray for all of those who pass on the faith in their homes, schools, and communities.
This is our time God has given to us as a gift, we only get one shot. We are called and chosen to be formed in the faith, then sow it in as many souls as God puts us in contact with. We are called to do it in the people He put around us in this place right now. May others see the face of Christ in you when they are troubled and abandoned.
Today’s challenge: Thank those who have passed on the faith to you. Ask God to strengthen us to be good laborers for the faith in our everyday lives.
Be a servant, be a saint today!
