“WHEN YOU HEAR OF WARS AND INSURRECTIONS, DO NOT BE TERRIFIED; FOR SUCH THINGS MUST HAPPEN FIRST, BUT IT WILL NOT IMMEDIATELY BE THE END.” LK 21:5-11

Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.

While some people were speaking about
how the temple was adorned with costly stones and votive offerings,
Jesus said, “All that you see here–
the days will come when there will not be left
a stone upon another stone that will not be thrown down.”

Then they asked him,
“Teacher, when will this happen?
And what sign will there be when all these things are about to happen?”
He answered,
“See that you not be deceived,
for many will come in my name, saying,
‘I am he,’ and ‘The time has come.’
Do not follow them!
When you hear of wars and insurrections,
do not be terrified; for such things must happen first,
but it will not immediately be the end.”
Then he said to them,
“Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
There will be powerful earthquakes, famines, and plagues
from place to place;
and awesome sights and mighty signs will come from the sky.”  LK 21:5-11

Today, Jesus is warning his followers that the Second Coming, or Parousia, is not coming right away. When Jesus Christ died on the cross and the blood and water flowed from His side, the Mystical Body of Christ began. We live in the end times! Jesus can come back at any time. Are your ready?

How do we become ready? Did you pray today? Are you in the state of grace? Are you doing your daily tasks (following the 10 commandments)? -Fr. Mike Schmitz

Jesus makes us holy! We can be holy now, suffer joyfully, live courageously preaching the Gospel, take care of those on the fringes of society, read the Divine Revelation found in the Bible, ask the Holy Spirit to guide us, receive God’s life that fills us with Himself in the Sacraments, and sit in silence listening to what Our Father and God the Son are saying about us!

Why are people afraid to die? What signs do we need? Everything we need to get back to the Father already has been revealed. If we can be holy now, and we are going to a spiritual realm where the One who is holy exists and welcomes us, then why would a person be afraid to die? It is happiness fulfilled, complete joy, totally consumed by the Creator, Savior, and Holy Spirit.

Finally, the Evangelists realized what Jesus said was true and began to write some of the oldest documents humans have ever found in ancient times, St. Paul’s writings, Peter, James, John, and the Gospels. They realized He wasn’t coming back right away, more souls have been created, and more souls have been saved, filling up heaven. The interesting thing is each wrote in different eras to different groups of people in different lands.

THEY ALL HAD THE SAME STORY! JESUS IS NOT DEAD! HE IS ALIVE! HE RESURRECTED MAKING EVERYTHING HE REVEALED TRUE! WE ARE SAVED, WE HAVE A FATHER MADLY IN LOVE WITH HIS CREATION WAITING FOR US, WE HAVE A MODEL OF HOLINESS IN THE FLESH TO FOLLOW! THIS LIFE ISN’T ALL THERE IS!

Today’s Challenge: Everyday is Judgment Day! Are you ready?

Be a servant, become a saint!
