Prayer Prompt before reading Acts 3:1-10 and LK 24:13-35: Come, Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray, interpret the Scriptures for me so that I may know the Truth about who God the Father is and God the Son is so that I may know who I am.

“WITH THAT THEIR EYES WERE OPENED AND THEY RECOGNIZED HIM, BUT HE VANISHED FROM THEIR SIGHT.” LK 24:13-35

Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.

Acts 3:1-10

As Christians we are called to help others, the greatest in need. We are to take care of those who nobody else will even come close to. Today, Peter must have felt something inside of him, maybe compassion for the cripple. Do you have the urge inside of you to help the least of God’s people?

It is interesting to me who Peter is so interested in helping after Christ’s resurrection. How does Peter know what to say to heal the man, “in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazorean, rise and walk.” This reminds me of, “Every knee shall bend in the heavens, on the earth, and under the earth to the name Jesus Christ.”

I am crippled in many ways, I think we all are in some way. Matthew Kelly, in his book “Rediscover Jesus” reminds us that we all have blind spots. Things others recognize in us that we don’t see in ourselves. Things our pride and ego have pushed away for so long we totally miss them about ourselves.

The things people never say to us but talk to others about because they don’t want to hurt our feelings. We all need Jesus Christ the Nazorean to heal us. When we recognize our brokenness and come to Jesus for healing we will be “walking and jumping and praising God.”

Lk 24:13-35

Does Jesus need to come back for us to know everything we need to know about how we are saved? Jesus said to the two disciples on the road to Emmaus, “Oh how foolish you are! How slow of heart to believe all that the prophets spoke! Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into his glory?” Then, Jesus proceeds to talk about all of the prophecies He fulfilled.

When asked, “How are you saved or why did you need a Savior, can you answer it? Most Catholics can’t. This might be “put in your mirror” material, so get ready to write it down.

1. Jesus Christ had to die and rise. God the Father requires blood to keep His covenants. Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. He is the bridge that crosses the chasm that Adam and Eve created with the Original Sin. (God redeeming His people after the fall of Adam and Eve; Jesus is the new Adam, Mary is the second Eve) There in the Garden Adam and Eve sinned, there in the Garden lies the tomb Jesus resurrected from.

2. Repent and be baptized. (Repent means to change the way you think about everything, This is our response to God’s love and mercy for His people; allow God to transform you with His grace)

3. We have to eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood; receive the Eucharist to have eternal life. [Jesus said,] “He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the Last Day. For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.” JN 6:54-55

4. Live our Baptismal promises out daily. I reject Satan. I believe Jesus is the Son of God (Creed)… (Are you rejecting Satan and fighting sin with a resolute heart? When falling are you going to confession often? We have amnesia (forget a lot) so we need to remind ourselves who we are and remind ourselves we are loved daily through reading the Scriptures and the catechism (Youcat-did you ask for one for Easter?)

We cannot worship something we do not know and you will live what you believe. Is the Word of God forming you or Youtube, Netflix, and video games? So, what do you believe? Your eternal state which cannot be changed depends on it. Live with the end in mind.

Last, Jesus uses the breaking of the bread to reveal Himself to the disciples. On Passover, Holy Thursday, He gives us Himself in the bread and wine until He returns. Do you believe the Eucharist is Jesus Christ? Think about it next time you go to Mass. Jesus says we must eat His flesh and drink His blood to have eternal life.

This is serious and a requirement! Buy a book about the Eucharist and read it before Mass. The Youcat says the origin of the liturgy/Mass is God. It is when He gives Himself to us, He cannot give any more than Himself! We must get to Mass more often. Honestly, what do we really believe in? We can’t worship or build a relationship with someone we don’t know.

Today’s challenge: Recognize we are crippled and we need Jesus the Nazorean to help us leap for joy into heaven. Be able to answer how we are saved as Christians (this is your Christian identity-we can’t live out something we can’t identify with) and most importantly live it-become a saint!

#Christian YODO (You Only Die Once; We will live again!)

Be a believer, be a saint today!

Jesus Christ, I believe, help my unbelief!

Jesus saved us. Jesus is our Savior, he gave our lives up for us and gave everything up for us. He saved us, and God gave his only son, Jesus Christ, up for us and showed us he is our Lord.

God tells us that we should love one another as he has loved us. This is a very beautiful thing and it is very true. We should try to act like God in all aspects of our life. We should hold the door open, and thank people because we would want them to do the same. We should always choose kindness and when we don’t have the strength we should ask what would Jesus do.

before God and all the people,
how our chief priests and rulers both handed him over
to a sentence of death and crucified him.
    But we were hoping that he would be the one to redeem Israel;

In todays Gospel Jesus shows himself to two disciples and he prevents them from recognizing him and asked what they were talking about and continued to ask questions about his own death. I think it was a test of faith to see what the disciples would say and would tell a random person to see if those disciples would spread the correct news not the news the Jews were trying to show.

Today, in the gospel, Peter heals a crippled man. We may not be physically crippled, but we can be spiritually crippled. Jesus came to earth to heal us from our spiritual handicaps, and so did the apostles with Jesus through them. Not only can we be spiritually crippled, but also spiritually blind. On the road to Emmaus, Jesus meets up with two of his disciples, but they do not recognize Him, only when he dines with them do they realize who He is. Jesus opens our eyes to see the truth, we only have to be able to recognize Him.

It is a part of Catholic social teaching that we should take care of other and the poor. Helping other people in the long run helps us. We are all called to serve whether that be for ourselves sometimes or the poor, or any other volunteering you can do. To get closer to God we need to know God which would help us live this way of life. The prophesies that Jesus had fulfilled had never happened before. Jesus Christ had to die and rise, we need to repent and be Baptized, We have to eat the flesh of man and drink His blood, and last we need to live our Baptismal promises daily. All of this helps us get closer to God and how we need to live our lives.

Today it is the great Gospel of Jesus RISING from the dead. He appears to the disciples and then Jesus says that they are foolish for not believing that he needed to die to save them and everyone else for all of eternity. This shows that God always has a plan and he will always make his plan for you to come true as long as you follow him. It may not be what you think his plan is right now. As they were getting closer to the village the prophets said to him that he should just stay with them. He agrees to this and goes for dinner. As he is breaking the bread he vanishes after their eyes have been opened. They realized that he fulfilled a bunch of prophets and was the Son of God. they returned to Jerusalem and told everyone that Jesus was back.

Have you ever been blindfolded and trying to recognize whose voice is the persons. But you don’t know because you are blindfolded. Your eyes have a big part in your life being able to see things and recognize things. Our ears can do that. We have a special party in our mind that allows us to recognize taste, sound, and images that occurred in the mind a long time ago. Well they are trying to say that when our eyes are opened we know. We know when we open our eyes. When we open our eyes to the truth we can be able to recognize that this is the truth because we opened our eyes to it and not blinded to the truth. What are you believing in. What do you open your eyes to that’s truth. What do you get out of bed every morning and say I believe because it’s the truth. Believe in something that’s truth. Blindfolded won’t save you, not being able to see will save you. Is the world blindfolding you, are you believing every single lie in the world that doesn’t matter to you. Open your eyes, say no to the world. You will be saved by God. That’s the truth. God is your father and savior

“The things people never say to us but talk to others about because they don’t want to hurt our feelings.” Today God is telling me that people will always talk about people it can be at school, work, home, outside, etc. Anywhere. People will talk about you behind your back and behind a lot of people’s back too. Not just you but almost everyone does this and sometimes they don’t even realize that their doing it. People just love to talk and nothing is going to stop that, you will even see old men talking too. No one will keep things to their self and say things to hopefully make them feel better. People will go hang out with the person they once talked about and act like they are friends, they aren’t really friends they are just acquaintances. You won’t ever find a real friend in that environment. Jesus hopes that we stop doing that one day and I open up to Him for you don’t need to put others down because you’re not confident, but lift each other up with words. If you don’t have anything nice to say, then don;t say it at all. You have more power than you think you do, you could easily hurt someone, but you can easily bring someone up in confidence. Follow God for He is the true way to life

In today’s Gospel these words stuck out to me: “Were not our hearts burning within us
while he spoke to us on the way and opened the Scriptures to us?” These words are talking about the fire that is burning within our souls when we pray or read the Bible or Go to Mass. Like the the song says “Set a fire down in my soul. That I can’t contain, I can’t control. I want more of You, God. I want more of You, God”

Something that I got out of this was that Jesus isn’t always super obviously in front of us. Jesus doesn’t always come down in a golden stairway with angles playing trumpets, but perhaps he comes in the most humble of ways. Jesus started his life as a humble carpenter, so why do we think when he is trying to talk to us, that is should be any different. We need to always be ready to listen to Jesus, even when we think it could never happen. Because when we think that God is nowhere near, that is when he comes down.

He is waiting for us to come to him. He has given us what we need to do that. If he wasn’t there to guide us we would be nobody going nowhere doing nothing, to live our lives just for them to end with infinite nothingness. Why? if you told you and you say you truly believe then why be confused when the things Jesus says come true!? at what had happened to him.”
At first if we ever saw God and people were praying to him, praising him we would’ve already known from the start that He is the one. And what happened to Jesus everyone was shocked because of what He did for everyone. If people were blind He would be able to make them see, if they were sick He would cure them. Anything, and everything He did for us and we have to believe that He did that. What this Gospel is telling me today is that Jesus is in everyone. That we could be talking to Jesus and not even notice it. Thats why we must always treat everyone with respect meaning that because we never know who is struggling in life or they are insecure about something. So that is why we should treat everyone like God.

This gospel passage reminds me that God gave us our gifts to share with others. The disciples used the gifts that God gave them to help others and lead them to the church instead of away. When we are selfish with our gifts we are s=not using them as God intended us to. Just like Mr. Goertz was saying we are all crippled and through God’s mercy and help we can overcome that and grow closer to Christ.

In the gospel, Jesus’ disciples did not recognize him as he was walking with them. Their eyes were only opened when Jesus broke the bread and said the blessing, a line after this that really stuck out to me was “The Lord has truly been raised and has appeared to Simon!” because they went out to the other disciples and proclaimed that Jesus was resurrected. The last line “how he was made known to them in the breaking of the bread.” is also important because the disciples didn’t know it was Jesus until he broke the bread and said the blessing, and this shows that the disciples see him in the breaking of bread.

If you went to Holy Thursday mass, you might’ve seen the priest act like Jesus. The priest was showing what Jesus did on the day before He was to die. If we are Christians, we must be able to understand the power of resurrection and life. It’s the sole purpose of God. God saved us by sacrificing His Only Son because of how much He loved us. But we don’t realize it. We spend our day doing what we love, yet we don’t thank God for what we love. Take your time today and say “Thank You” for anything somebody has done. It’s the least you could do for somebody that has done something for you. And remember that God loves you.

In today’s first reading, Peter helps the crippled man at the temple through the name of Jesus Christ. We must be christ-like and do stuff in the name of Jesus Christ so that we can do powerful and supernatural things. If we ask Jesus to help us, he will answer your prayer with patience and help you. If we do good acts to others, that great feeling of joy is sent back to us. Through Jesus, we can do all things because he gives us strength, confidence, and love.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus tells the two disciples about how he fulfilled the Scriptures and interpreted every part that referred to him. In today’s world, there is hate, misinformation, and bullying constantly. But we should focus on the good of the world, the beauty of the world given to us by God. We must be diligent to seek and find God and to be aware of the Second Coming. We must open our hearts to God so that he can remove the veil that Satan has put over us and make us see the spiritual world.

“When all the people saw him walking and praising God, they recognized him as the one who used to sit begging at the Beautiful Gate of the temple, and they were filled with amazement and astonishment at what had happened to him.” If everyone all worshiped and praised God, more people would join the church and recognize he is the only one we should be worship and praising. But we also can’t worship or praise someone we have no relationship with, so we need to build one. And that takes effort.

In today’s Reading and Gospel talks about helping others and loving others. Jesus is our role model because he helped others including ourselves. Thank him for that amazing part of Jesus. Peter is very interested in helping others right after Jesus rose from the dead. Why? Because he knew what God was doing when he was dying on the cross right in front of his own eyes. He knew that when Jesus was dying on the cross that he was helping and saving many lives. Because that was his plan for us. We should start helping others and do it with a good mindset just like Jesus did because he never did anything dumb or do it in a bad mood. He did it with his whole love and heart. Even though the man was crippled Peter didn’t car because it does not matter what anyone looks like or acts like, You have to remember that everyone is a child of the living God and when you hurt them its like hurting Jesus. No matter what anyone looks like always be kind because you never know what someone is going through. When we help others and we get nothing out of it it makes us feel good about ourselves and not always you are going to get something in return. Helping others is called Stewardship which is an amazing act that we should start doing more often because it makes others truly happy but you also feel good about who you are being to someone. Have a Good Rest Of Your Day!! Jesus Loves you so much!!!! God Bless!!

All Christians are called to help each other, this stands out to me because it shows that we as Gods children are all family. Family, the family of God and He is all our father.

As Christians we are called to help others, the greatest in need. We are to take care of those who nobody else will even come close to”
a lot of people tend to make fun of others for disabilities, insecurities, or jealousy. or for them to feel good about themselves and that’s not right at all. bullying can lead to really bad things including switching schools and even worse things. as Christians we should NOT bully/talk about other people behind their back, or be leaving people out. just like Jesus said, “we are all brothers and sisters” and “If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.”
“The things people never say to us but talk to others about because they don’t want to hurt our feelings”
this,if you are doing this you know you shouldn’t be doing it. if you know it will hurt the persons feeling then don’t talk about them, and talk about something else.
in today’s Gospel Peter heals a crippled man. that’s what we need to be doing to those who are feeling left out or are getting bullied. stand up for the hurting, stand up for the sorrowful.

“Jesus said to the two disciples on the road to Emmaus, “Oh how foolish you are! How slow of heart to believe all that the prophets spoke! Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into his glory?” This stood out to me because every one of us are those two disciples, unable to see who God is. Then when we are in church we finally understand who God is and that He loves all of us.

I think that the gospel is trying to tell us is that Jesus saved us without even asking. He knew his fate since he was born and he didn’t care. He did it for us because he wanted to, not because he knew he had to.
