“WHOEVER HAS EARS OUGHT TO HEAR.” MT 13:1-9

Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.

Prayer Prompt before reading  MT 13:1-9 : Come, Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray, interpret the Scriptures for me so that I may know the Truth about who God the Father and Son are so that I may know the Truth about who I am.

Jesus begins a series of parables as a story teller.  He is about to reveal the Kingdom of God to us.  ”Whoever has ears ought to hear,” does not mean just anyone with ears, but those who want to understand, believe, and actually give up everything to get to the Kingdom.  He begins with the parable of the Sower and the Seed.

God is the Sower, the seed is the Word, our hearts are the different types of soil.  How often we read, understand, reflect, and then RESPOND TO God’s Word that He has sown on our hearts will be how much we reap in this life and the next.  We cannot worship something we do not know. We cannot arrive on the doorstep of the Lord as a stranger.

The Word is where Jesus reveals Himself to us on a day to day basis. It can be applied to your life in many ways. The same passage can speak to you in different ways at different times in your life depending on the circumstances. Jesus wants our friendship. He wants to speak to us and transform us. He died for it!

Come to the Word, learn from the Master Teacher, then go out into your homes, schools, and businesses sharing what you have learned.  Allow your heart to be open to the Word, for St. Augustine says, “My heart is restless until it rests in you.”

Today’s challenge: Get to know God by reading and reflecting on the Scriptures daily.  Allow the Holy Spirit to bring you into God’s presence by reading the Scriptures and asking the Holy Spirit to help you understand God’s Word.  Allow your life to be guided by God’s Word.  The transformation is amazing!

Be a servant, be a saint today!
