“PEOPLE BROUGHT TO HIM A BLIND MAN AND BEGGED JESUS TO TOUCH HIM.” MK 8:22-26
Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
When Jesus and his disciples arrived at Bethsaida,
people brought to him a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him.
He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village.
Putting spittle on his eyes he laid his hands on the man and asked,
“Do you see anything?”
Looking up the man replied, “I see people looking like trees and walking.”
Then he laid hands on the man’s eyes a second time and he saw clearly;
his sight was restored and he could see everything distinctly.
Then he sent him home and said, “Do not even go into the village.” MK 8:22-26
The cure of the blind man continues the meaning of yesterday’s Gospel in which the Apostles did not understand, see, or trust Jesus. They were lacking faith. Jesus is slowly revealing Himself as the Messiah, not another prophet.
“May the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ
enlighten the eyes of our hearts,
that we may know what is the hope
that belongs to his call.” EPH 1 17:18
Faith is a complete gift from God, ask Him to increase faith, hope, and love in you. The one thing that changes everything is belief and stirs these theological virtues within us. God, increase our faith in you! Jesus, I believe, help my unbelief.
Today’s challenge: Beg Jesus to touch our hearts and open our eyes so that we may see Him at work in our lives and all around us.
Be a servant, become a saint!

Today the scripture is telling us that Jesus can help us and lead us when we need help and when we are lost. When we do bad things and turn away from him we become blind and when we decide to turn back to Jesus He will help us.
Just as the people brought the blind man to Jesus to be healed, we should put ourselves in the presence of God and ask for him to heal us.
I think this gospel is showing us that we need to appreciate what Jesus does for us. I think we can take all that he does for granted and forget it. He non-stop gives love to us and helps us get through our day.
By following Jesus, we can see clearly. The world wants us to focus on other things, such as social media or material things, but if we pray and follow Jesus’s teachings, we can see pass worldly things and find true happiness with God.
that jesus is all was waching and you shood triy to do your best praing
Jesus will do anything for us. Just like someone who loves us, He is willing to do anything for us. He even died for us. In Scripture, Jesus gave a blind man vision because He loved him and the man had faith in God.
The blind man can also be used as a metaphor for everyone. Without God we are blinded by everything in the world around us and we miss the meaningful things. We need God to see the beauty of life and why we were put on this rock he gives us meaning and makes us see.
Jesus will be with you no matter who you are or what you do.
“Apostles did not understand, see, or trust Jesus. They were lacking faith.” We are like the Apostles, sometimes we do not trust Jesus. He may tell us that calling is something but we are scared to do it so we don’t. We don’t always understand Jesus which is okay. We should at least try to have a better understanding of him though.
In todays reading the bind man has to out his faith in Jesus. And sometimes we are truly lacking that everyday and we have to over come that to be able to see and receive Christ. But we also need some guidance daily and Jesus can help us with that by just showing us a glimpse.
“May the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ enlighten the eyes of our hearts, that we may know what is the hope that belongs to his call.” This saying just is beautiful to me, it reminds me that i need to open my heart to Jesus and follow Him. I need to learn to trust and have faith.
We often struggle to trust Jesus. Jesus wants to have a relationship with us and to have that he needs us to trust him. Any of our problems are to be laid down at his feet. He’s being humble for us. He’s offering to take our problems. He doesn’t even have to, but he loves us, so he does. The next time you pray ask Jesus to take away all your problems. Ask him to put you into the right mind for prayer.
A phrase that stuck out to me is do not even go into the village. I like this phrase because this is when Jesus does not want to be known, but the people still talked about that. Another reason I think he does not want to be seen is because he knows what will happen if does get found, but he wants to still do good deeds.
In this Gospel, Jesus heals a blind man. The blind man represents us blinded by our sins. Jesus is the one who makes us see clearly. He was what cleared the way for us to get into heaven. This happens every time we go to confession. He wipes away our blindness and makes our eyes see the way.
Today´s scripture reflection is very meaningful to me. I think the main message I got from it was that we need to ask Jesus for help. We will get nowhere in life if we think we can do everything by ourselves. Also, we need to remember that if we ask him for help, he will not always do it immediately, you have to keep running back to the Father with our hearts open. We also need to remember that if we want Jesus to be forgiving, we need to be forgiving here on Earth.
This scripture is trying to tell us that we need to believe in him and what he can do. He wants us to believe he can do the impossible. Jesus told him not to go back probably so he didn’t get scandalized from all of the bad things that were in the village.
I believe this is saying that if you believe enough he will come and save us and when he was still alive on earth he will come and heal you of your injuries.
Jesus will always be there for us. He will be there to open our eyes. In this case I mean spiritually. He is there to open our eyes to the faith and to God. We need to ask Jesus to open our eyes and show us the miracles he can do.
I feel like it’s saying you have to listen to God to feel his grace.
God can do anything so long as you believe in him. If you lack faith in him he will do small things for you. It is up to you to believe but God will be there with us helping us along. But you have to believe.
what i got from this article was how god always heals and hes always the answer for example the blind guy who was cured he will always cure you if you are sad or lonely
Putting spittle on his eyes he laid his hands on the man and asked, “Do you see anything?” Looking up the man replied, “I see people looking like trees and walking.” Then he laid hands on the man’s eyes a second time and he saw clearly; his sight was restored and he could see everything distinctly. He can cured any sicken. I will do all of my chores
I feel like this is telling me that we have to trust Jesus even though sometimes we may not be able to see the correct path. He will open our eyes to the truth when He start to stray from it
i meant to say when we start to stray from it (not to be put in the comments)
The cure of the blind man continues the meaning of yesterday’s Gospel in which the Apostles did not understand, see, or trust Jesus. They were lacking faith. Jesus is slowly revealing Himself as the Messiah, not another prophet.
If you belive in Jesus he will heal you in this scripture he heals a man from being blind which is something that humans can’t do only a act of God could do this.
“Faith is a complete gift from God, ask Him to increase faith, hope, and love in you.” This sentence to me is powerful because it shows that even though God is a all knowing being, he is willing to help us by grating us faith and love in our souls, and ultimately saving us from sin.
I think what God is trying to say is that when God leads you along the path of life because if your clueless in life you will need guidance from God you should listen to him.
What stuck out to me was When Jesus and his disciples arrived at Bethsaida, people brought to him a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him.He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village.Putting spittle on his eyes he laid his hands on the man and asked,“Do you see anything?”Looking up the man replied, “I see people looking like trees and walking.”Then he laid hands on the man’s eyes a second time and he saw clearly;his sight was restored and he could see everything distinctly. Then he sent him home and said, “Do not even go into the village.” This stuck out to me because you need to have trust in God and Jesus because only good with come from trusting them.
you must believe in God and trust him to guide you and to help you with blindness or even a test.
We have to start believing our faith in Jesus.
The one thing that changes everything is belief and stirs these theological virtues within us.
This scripture is telling me that we need to trust God and believe Jesus is the Messiah not another prophet
We need to trust Jesus and God even if we can’t see him. Ask God to help you be more faithful, be more kind, and to be able to teach others and lead them to God.
Jesus is telling us that even through hard times He still will be there and if you ask Him about something He will help get what you want even if it takes a while. He will also help you see the good in people.
What stuck out to me was when Jesus said to the blind man after he was healed and said ” do not even go into the village.” This part stuck out to me because i feel like Jesus was telling the healed man that if people wanted to be healed they needed to come to Jesus and not have the healed man go and tell everyone that Jesus could heal, because even the none believers would come to him and take advantage of His healing.
It ´ s hard to love your enemy. I constantly feel pressured to love my enemy, and in a way that ´ s not a bad thing. Everyone has someone they don ´ t get along with, and that ´ s just how life is. Everyday we have to suffer the consequences of being sinners. We fall down and get back up again with God ´ s help. We ask God to help us SEE. We ask God to help us HEAR. We ask God to help us UNDERSTAND.
We go to confession to get healed of our sins just as the blind man went to Jesus to get healed of his blindness. Jesus forgives us from our sins and heals our souls so we can receive his grace and grow closer to him.
