Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Jesus said to his disciples:
“In praying, do not babble like the pagans,
who think that they will be heard because of their many words.
Do not be like them.
Your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

“This is how you are to pray:

Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name,
thy Kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

“If you forgive men their transgressions,
your heavenly Father will forgive you.
But if you do not forgive men,
neither will your Father forgive your transgressions.” MT 6:7-15

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name,
(I kneel before you to worship, praise, adore, and thank you; put God in His proper place-FIRST)

thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
(I submit my will to you, give me the strength and courage to follow Your Will-God uses us to do His Will-be Christ for others)

Give us this day our daily bread;
(thank you for taking care of our every need; Jesus, I trust in you)

and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us;
(teach me to forgive so that I may be forgiven, Jesus, Son of the living God have mercy on me a sinner)

and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

If we do not learn to forgive, we will not be forgiven.  St. Augustine tells us that every message in the Gospel leads back to some part of the Our Father.  Each day drop to your knees and think about what the words mean.  It will put things back into perspective to start your day and remind you who is in control.  It teaches us to give up our will and put on Christ for others throughout your day, thank God for life and sustaining you, and forgive those who have hurt you.  Put on the armor of God and fight like crazy against your fallen human nature and the temptations of the devil. Amen.

Today’s challenge: Do not let a day pass without thinking about the words of the Our Father.  Thank God He is our Father who loves us even more than our earthly father.
