Prayer Prompt before reading LK 11:29-32: Come, Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray well, interpret the Scriptures for me so that I may know the Truth about who God the Father and God the Son are so that I may know who I am.

“THERE IS SOMETHING GREATER THAN JONAH HERE.” LK 11:29-32

Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.

Jesus continues to explain to the crowds gathered around him that He must die and rise to save us. The wisdom of Solomon was powerful, the preaching of repentance by Jonah to the Ninevites helped save a huge city, but Jesus teaches us today that He is God and through His death and resurrection He will set us free from our sin, conquer death, and defeat Satan.

Today, Jesus personally asks each one of us to stop searching in other places for peace, joy, happiness. He alone has the answers. He alone is enough. Listen in prayer. Invite Him into your daily struggles, suffering, prayer, and joys. We are a distracted people and we look in all of the wrong places for happiness. God alone is pure joy, much greater than happiness. He alone gives us what our hearts long for, Himself. Love, Truth, purpose, a direction each day we wake. May He see our belief in Him by the way we treat others, in our prayer, and by fasting.

Today’s challenge: Stop searching for happiness in all of the wrong places. Christ alone gives us what we are looking for. Learn to be still and listen to Christ in your heart. “Ask and it shall be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be open to you.” MT 7:7

Be a servant, become a saint!

Jesus is the official sign, we don’t need further signs when we have Jesus. We are always looking for more signs and some of us give up because we don’t think that one sign is enough.

Jesus wants all of us to stop demanding miracles because He is the miracle. God is the miracle and we don’t need any other miracles because He is enough!

‘”because at the preaching of Jonah they repented,
and there is something greater than Jonah here.”’
This part stuck out to me the most because Jesus gave an entire speech on how many opportunities he gave them, yet they didn’t listen. So he tells them (in my own words) that, You kinda listened to Jonah, so why are you not listening to me? For i am much greater than Jonah. This can correspond with us too, because we listen to others more than we listen to Jesus, our God. We go to others for advice on how to pray, what to do with our lives. But we never ask the one who knows our fate, who is the master of prayer. Why do we listen to others, but not our one true God?

In today’s Gospel, we hear that the crowd wants entertainment, not transformation. The passage tells us not to pray about Jesus granting our wishes and dreams, but to trust in what He has planned for us. Getting to Heaven is what we should be wishing for, not getting things on this Earth. We need to trust in Him! And, hopefully we can get to Heaven and have eternal life with Him.

think the phrase ¨ Jesus personally asks each one of us to stop searching in other places for peace, joy, happiness. He alone has the answers.¨ is very important because throughout life we seek different feelings like thrill, peace, and happiness, and we may find it through everyday activities but not on the level that we will receive if we praise the lord, and yet most people know that but they choose not too pray.

“This generation is an evil generation; it seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it.”
In the Gospel today Jesus is telling us that because we don’t repent and because we don’t seek for God nor do his will, we are an “evil generation.” Jesus is telling us that we won’t receive a sign because he wants us to praise God with unending love by ourselves, he shouldn’t have to prove it to us by sending a sign. We should praise God by ourselves and believe what we have been told about Jesus in the Gospels, Jesus unending, Jesus is loving, all we have to do is listen because he will come our way no matter what. Why? Because he loves us and he won’t ever stop.

“This generation is an evil generation; it seeks a sign, but no sign will be given, except the sign of Jonah.” Everyone seeks a sign, something to show them that God is there. But, Jesus says you won’t find a sign. That is why you need faith and works. Faith, to believe to know there is something bigger than this world, and works to strive to be like your heavenly father.

It really stuck out to me when at the beginning it said that God has to die and rise from the dead to save us. Today, God teaches us that through his death and resurrection, he has set us free, conquered sin, and defeated Satan. All his life has been able to save us from evil. Stop looking in other places for peace, happiness, love, and care. Because Jesus is the only one who can make all of these feelings possible. Listen to Jesus, listen to everything he has to tell you. We should invite him into our daily struggles, our prayers, and our peace. I really love how it said we look in the wrong places when looking for happiness, Jesus is pure joy and happiness, he is the only one who can make us happy. He is much greater than any other kind of happiness in this world. Our hearts should be open and ready to receive the power of the Holy Spirit. Our hearts long for things like happiness, joy, truth and salvation, our hearts long for Jesus. Jesus has a purpose in our lives, and God leads in a pathway into heaven. When we go into the wrong direction, God will be there to catch you for your sin. We should treat others the way Jesus treated his people. Have a good rest of your day!!! God loves you so much!!! God Bless!! ¡Viva Cristo Rey!

Jesus is telling the people to stop demanding more proof and instead respond with faith and repentance to the miracles and teaching he gave him his death and resurrection was the last sign to show that he is our savior. The Men of Nineveh repent at the preaching of Jonah yet the people listening to Jesus refuse to repent despite someone greater than Jonah preaching right to them someone greater and someone more powerful he has gave them miracle after miracle but yet no one believes he is the prophet. Jesus warns that the Ninevites and the queen will witness against this generation at the final judgment, because their faith was greater than that of his current audience.the queen of Sheba came from the ends of the earth to hear Solomon’s wisdom, yet the generation listening to Jesus refuses to accept someone greater than Solomon.

Jesus is calling out the crowd for being stubborn because they keep asking for proof instead of just listening to Him. He points out that people in the past changed their lives for way less, yet this generation won’t listen to someone even greater. Basically, He’s saying they have the ultimate answer right in front of them and are still missing it.

Jesus is talking about how our generation is seeking signs that don’t exist. Often times people ask God for a sign that something is going to happen to them, but God will not grant that to them. Instead of seeking signs we should seek God for help and to stay on our journey back to Him.

This generation is evil, we need a sign to believe and proof to have faith. The son of God, Jesus, is our sign. He is our proof that God is real and that we have a father in heaven. If we do not believe, we will be condemned by God. Sometimes our generation sees things as signs that aren’t actually signs.

Just as Jonah helped the Ninevites Jesus will help this generation of people in turning to God and making good choices. He talks about how though the prophets such as Jonah were effective, there is something better here.

In todays Gospel Jesus says “This generation is an evil generation; it seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it.” In this situation Jesus is talking about the Jews wanting proof that Jesus is God. While he is not talking about our generation I think this can be applied to our generation too. So many people need proof to know that God is real and even when the proof is right in front of their face they still deny it. It is so sad that so many people don’t believe in God without proof or sometimes even with proof.

True happiness and joy is in God. He is the embodiment of love and joy. God is most present during mass and in Heaven. That is why we must try our best to get into heaven with God. He will guide us on our way there and we must follow God’s word if we want to make it into Heaven. Avoid sinning as much as you can and when you eventually do, repent to God and ask for forgiveness. In today’s Gospel, Jesus tells us that he is the sign that we are saved through his death and resurrection. Similar to Solomon’s words of wisdom and Jonah’s words of repentance to Nineveh, we must listen to God so that we know what’s in store for us. So, sit silently in a comfortable spot in your room and listen to God, reflect, and repent, the same way the entire city of Nineveh repented after hearing Jonah’s words. God is constantly knocking on your door, and prayer is the key that opens the door to Him.

Today I think God is trying to tell us that he needs us to trust him and not to just except him to show us everything. He is always there to help and guide us but sometimes we have to wait for his timing and not ours. So we have to trust that God knows best and he will guide us through life.

To day God tells me that we are in a evil generation. There are so many things now more than ever that can distract us from God’s word. Jesus came as our sign that there is something better to look for in this life and after it. This is also a kind of reassurance. God knows this is an evil generation so he can understand us better but we still have to choose the Good over evil.

God is telling me that we must be respectful and take advantage of his signs that he gives us sometimes we think that we must wait for Jesus to give us a sign but we must open our eyes to SEE his signs open our ears to HEAR his signs and most importantly we must open our heart to LOVE and never stop

In today’s Gospel Jesus said “This generation is an evil generation; It seeks a sign; but no sign will be given it, except the sign of Jonah.”
We are looking for signs and there’s people everywhere saying that they are the prophets of the Lord but they aren’t. Instead of searching for a sign from God, we should try to listen to what he says to us.

Today’s Gospel tells us to listen to God. He is the sign of our generation and we need to put him above all things. He is greater than any issue we have in our lives and we need to prioritize him always, just as he does to us.

“There is something greater than Jonah here.” This part stood out to me, I feel like because it is showing that there is something greater than man-kind and that is God. Sometimes I think we get caught up in “oh no put what if they don’t like it” and “what if they don’t believe in the same thing as me” but this part of the Gospel is telling you that there is something higher than the people you know something more worthwhile, and more specifically someone who loves you more than any person could do.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus is telling us that we need to understand how God is greater than anything on Earth. In this generation, some may try to steer you away from God, but we have to stay strong and have faith in Him.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus talks about how the generation they were in was evil. He tells them that they need a sign, but no sign will be given except the sign of Jonah. Just as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, the Son of Man will become a sign to that generation.

Today in the Gospel Jesus tells us that we should be able to believe in him without any signs from him or God. Those who believe in God without needing any signs from him except for Jesus have the kind of faith that God wants us to have.

In today’s Gospel Jesus was really talking to me in the scripture “because at the preaching of Jonah they repented,
and there is something greater than Jonah here.” What he is trying to say to us is we can’t bring the material thing
we love in heaven , because what really matters is what is inside us and that is our HEARTS .

The message I got from today’s gospel was that I should be seeking how to do God’s will, rather than how I will know, doubting God’s will. Jesus says that today’s generation seeks a sign, but we will not get one. I see this as Jesus saying to not doubt God, but rather to follow him knowing he will give me what I need.

today’s reflection focuses on Jesus’ message about signs of true fulfillment. The core message is that our lives can be often “evil” because it seeks e proof or signs instead of simply having faith. Jesus himself is the ultimate sign, greater than both Jonah, who preached repentance to the Ninevites, and Solomon, renowned for his wisdom. trust in Jesus and be THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD!!!

The gospel today tells us how our generations are wicked and how living in them will be a battle. He tells us not to test God and we seek signs but will not be given any. We need to have faith and God and strive to be holy like him.

In today’s gospel it talks about how no one is greater that God. I think that Jesus is telling us that we must be lowly before him we must fear the Lord and trust in him. we must not worship false Gods for there is only one true God and that is our God.

We look and rely on signs from God too much. We want everything that we ask from him and we want a sign, but the thing is it that we shouldnt wait for a sign but seek God.

In the Gospel it was saying that we had an evil generation because we wanted a sighn but no sighn was given because we should be able to belive in God without a sighn. Thats what all of should know and so we cannot just stop beleving because we dont see a sighn from God.

    “This generation is an evil generation;

This means that since God isn’t going to give us a sign we need to fully believe in him and everything he does..

The part of this Gospel that stuck out to me was when Jesus said, “Just as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites,
so will the Son of Man be to this generation.” This meant to me that even though today we don’t have some prophet to guide us we can always pray to God and He will answer and his answer may come in a way that we don’t expect.

It also made me think of how much I ask God for a sign to know tat he is with me and I am realizing that he already is.

We all originated from God, so that means we all long for happiness, peace, and love. In our world most people try to find this and they find temporary happiness, they find temporary peace, and temporary love. When we have not yet found the Lord , we seek out these glimpses of love. Soon we need something stronger that leads us to doing the most degradable things just to feel okay, just to feel loved, just to feel like we have a purpose here. That’s what leads to suicide, that’s what leads to depression. not feeling loved, feeling alone, feeling completely and utterly helpless. That’s what’s so sad, everyone truly wants all these things but we think we can only have it for a moment, that we only deserve it for a moment. The truth? we deserve it until the day we die. That’s what God chose for us, he is all these things. that’s why when we follow Jesus we feel so loved, we feel belonging because that’s where we are meant to be.

Today Jesus teaches the importance of repentance. He knows that on our own, it is impossible for us to be perfect. So, in His ever-loving mercy He forgives us of our sins. However, forgiveness is useless, if we do not repent. We must show in our hearts that we truly want to be with the one and true God.

In this Gospel, I think God is trying to tell me that we need to trust in His message and in Him. He tells them to trust in Him and that all they ever look for is proof but they never have faith. We need to have especially during these times since He isn’t here telling us. But we have the Eucharist and we have to have faith that He is truly with us.
