Prayer Prompt before reading MT 6:7-15: Come, Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray well, interpret the Scriptures for me so that I may know the Truth about who God the Father and God the Son are so that I may know who I am.

“IN PRAYING, DO NOT BABBLE LIKE THE PAGANS,WHO THINK THAT THEY WILL BE HEARD BECAUSE OF THEIR MANY WORDS.” MT 6:7-15

Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.

St. Augustine said, “Run through all of the words of the holy prayers (in Scripture), and I do not think you find anything that is not contained and included in the Lord’s Prayer.”

Our Father (many of the saints stopped here thanking God for allowing them to call Him Father, Pope Francis says Abba means Dad-Do you allow Him to wrap His arms around you like a loving Father?) who art in heaven,

hallowed be thy name:
Dear God, I bring myself into your presence humbly as a sinner who needs your mercy to worship, adore, glorify, praise, and thank you.  Thank you for allowing me to call you Daddy and thank you for calling me son/daughter.

thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven:
I submit my will to you, please give me the courage, strength, and grace to follow it. I completely surrender and trust in you.

Give us this day our daily bread:
Thank you for taking care of our every need, I trust in you. Please help me recognize the needs of others and help them. Thank you for the everlasting sustaining Bread that is your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ.

and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us:
please send me your grace to forgive so I may forgive like You, help me not to judge incorrectly or label, have mercy on my soul.

and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil (protect us from the Devil).

Today’s challenge: Make sure the Our Father is the first words on our lips each morning so we have the right perspective going into each day.  Enter God’s heart by humbling yourself before Him, empty yourself so that He can fill you up to be an instrument of love, thank Him for sustaining you each day and providing us with His life (grace) by faithfully receiving the sacraments, ask for the grace to forgive, for mercy, and protection from Satan.

Be a servant, become a saint!

and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us:
please send me your grace to forgive so I may forgive like You, help me not to judge incorrectly or label, have mercy on my soul. This stood out to me because I think everyone can sometimes mislabel people or not forgive people because of something they did a while ago.

“IN PRAYING, DO NOT BABBLE LIKE THE PAGANS,WHO THINK THAT THEY WILL BE HEARD BECAUSE OF THEIR MANY WORDS.” MT 6:7-15. The reason why this stood out to me is because Jesus is saying that when we are praying we should not Babble like the Pagans. Instead we should spread the word of God to others that do not believe in him.

“and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us” this part always stands out tome because its a really good reminder in daily life. You cant hold grudges than expect everyone to forgive you. You must be forgiving to be forgiven. You also need to remember that nobody but God is perfect, we can not hold others to standards we ourselves cant meet.

¨Forgive others and your heavenly father will forgive you.¨ Jesus tells us to treat others how we would treat him. So when we do not forgive our neighbors we are nit forgiving our heavenly father.

In today’s Gospel the Lord gives us one of the best prayers for penance.Jesus says not to babble like the pharisees. In the prayer it says to forgive sins as others forgive our sins, which is highly important.

I think this scripture reflection is important and means alot because it guides us to finding the true meaning of prayer. It allows us to pray and know what the words we say mean and reflect deeper into our hearts. This can be done with any prayers because all prayers are filled with meaning whether its very surface level or you have to look deeper into the words and phrases.

This is saying that we must forgive the people who have done us wrong. That does not mean, however, that we must forget the wrongdoing; just as we still have to deal with the consequences of our sins even if we go to confession, we do not have to forget about something in order to forgive it.

Today’s Gospel told me that you have to forgive so that the Father will forgive you. God doesn’t want us to hold grudges. He wants us to forgive what they have done wrong.

God also wants us to pray to Him. He doesn’t want us to listen to others words, He wants us to listen to His. God will always know what you need before you tell Him because He is our God.

True prayer is rooted in a trusting relationship with God! This Gospel shows us a good way to grow closer to Christ during this Lenten season.

This Gospel is basically saying to be simple in your prayers, at least when you start off. You don’t need to always pray for 30 minutes at a time, just slow it down start with some memorized prayers, then go into what you are thankful for from God then what you need and just tell Him what is happening in your life.

“If you forgive men for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you do not forgive men, neither will your Father forgive your transgressions.”
This part helps with the point i made yesterday that we should treat each other like we would treat God. EXCEPT we dont treat them like they’re high and mighty, and have control over us. Our True God up in heaven deserves that praise. Also to not treat others with disrespect because we should not treat each other with disrespect. We are all Human, so why do we treat each other differently? There is no need to treat each other differently, we all are just living our own life. You should live yours.
(live your life without talking bad about people.)

what this means to me is that we shouldn’t just treat prayer as a transactional checklist but as a heart felt conversation with God. It asks us to trust that God cares before we even speak, to seek His will first, and to ensure our hearts are clear of hate so that we can receive the mercy we ask for. Jesus teaches that prayer is supposed to be sincere and not just wishes and desires prayer is to connect with him not for gifts and presents. We treat prayer as homework but it isn’t it is a conversation with our lord.

It really stuck out to me because I love how it talks about how every time we pray the Our Father, we should listen to what we are asking and what we are saying when we pray this prayer. Next time you pray this prayer, really think about what the words are saying and what they really mean. We should never pray as quickly as we can, we should take our time and really listen to what are speaking about. I love how it says would you let Jesus wrap his arms around you, he doers this because he loves you so much. Every time we pray, let’s meditate and listen to God answering us back when we pray to him. It does not have to just be Our Father it can be other prayers. Have a good rest of your day!!! God loves you so much!!! God Bless!!! ¡Viva Cristo Rey!

If we forgive those who do us wrong God will forgive us, but if we cannot forgive we will not be forgiven. We must ask for the Holy Spirit’s guidance and intercession to help us forgive others.

Today Jesus is telling us not to babble like birds while praying rather we shall interperit what we are saying. He then tells us the Lord’s Prayer.

Our Father who art in heaven,
    hallowed be thy name,
    thy Kingdom come,
    thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
    Give us this day our daily bread;
    and forgive us our trespasses,
    as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
    but deliver us from evil.

He tells us to pray this and man shall be forgiven for all faults as long as they forgive man for their faults. He also tells us to use this prayer to ask for things.

Instead, He reminds us that God is our loving Father who already knows what we need before we even ask. Jesus gives us the Our Father as a model for how to have a real, honest conversation with God.

Jesus tells his apostles that it is not if they spend 6 hours a day in adoration or saying 100 words to him in one minute. It is about the meaning of the words and how much you mean them. Like it has been said before God doesn’t need prayer, we need it. You don’t use it like a slot machine thinking whatever you put in you get right out of it, no. Prayer helps you so instead of saying words that don’t change you prioritize good, meaningful prayer. Just like the our father.

Today, Jesus said “In praying, do not babble like the pagans, who think that they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them. Your Father knows what you need before you ask him.¨ He is meaning that when you pray be silent. Do not do it so the people think you are very holy. To show off your faith. This shows pride and ego. God dose not want us to have egos instead, when you pray really be with God. Talk to Him without pride and ego. Its not bad to pray out loud but don´t do it just to show off to others. Instead do it for God. Then Jesus tell us how to pray with a pray. And that prayer is the Our Father. Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Praying shouldn’t be performative. You shouldn’t want to pray to seem holier than other people. You should want to pray because you want a relationship with God. A relationship with God is one you can never break. He will never stop loving you, so much so he died on the cross. Never forget that sacrifice.

In today’s Gospel Jesus teaches us how to pray to him. He teaches us the Our Father and he also tells us that in order for us to be forgiven then we have to forgive. We need to forgive through the Holy Spirit because that is when we truly forgive others.

“In today’s Gospel, Jesus tells his disciples how to pray. Jesus tells them that they don’t need to babble like the pagans but to pray the “Our Father.” Otherwise, it is to pray to God the Father and tell him to forgive us and take the evil out of us. He then goes to say “If you forgive men their transgressions, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you do not forgive men, neither will your Father forgive your transgressions.”

“Your Father knows what you need before you ask him.” This seems to make prayer pointless, but it doesn’t because the Lord wants to hear it from us ourselves, he knows all but he is waiting on us. This will make us rely on God, and in doing so we will become closer to him. The Our Father is a prayer on surface level, but it is also a formula that we can use for prayer, we can adore him, say we are sorry, ask for things we need, and thank him for all he has done for us.

Today what I got out of the Gospel is that we must always recognize God as our father. He made everyone of us in his own image and likeness and he had a plan for every single one of us before we were born and had our vocation already set out.

something that stuck with me when i read this is that “Give us our daily bread”. and what It meant kinda made me realize what I’m saying. were basically telling the Lord in that part thanks for taking care of our needs, and also to take care of other peoples needs and to see they’re needs and help them.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus teaches his disciples about the Lord’s Prayer. He also says that we must forgive others, and if we do not forgive, then our Father will not forgive us. It may be hard to forgive others, especially our greatest enemies. How could we forgive them after what they did? But, look at what God does; he forgives the sinner no matter how bad the sin was. You can choose to hold a grudge and never forgive, or to forget what happened and look at the person now. Hate and grudge is like a slow poison that constantly makes you ache, and forgiveness is the cure to that poison. You can end a longstanding grudge by forgiving them in a few minutes. So, let us have the strength to forgive others, see their character now, and move on from the past.

Today Jesus tells me how to pray and he even gives us a guide and a prayer. I find it cool that the our father came from Jesus and we still recite it after 2000+ years. The Best prayer is silence and that is why Jesus wants us to go into our room so it’s just us and him nothing to distract so we can hear his word better. You think of your prayer like wealth you can help people with your wealth or you can be flashy and make it known your wealthy. You can pray out loud and go to church but if you don’t have the time with God you wont have as strong of a relationship with him.

Today in the Gospel Jesus teaches us how to pray and gives us the Lord’s Prayer. He also tells us that to get to heaven, we must forgive those who have hurt us and sinned against us so that God can forgive our sins. God wants us to serve him and others, but we must be able to forgive if we want to serve Christ fully.

In the beginning of the Gospel, Jesus tells His disciples to not “babble like the pagans,” and I think he meant don’t get side tracked by trying to do ten things all at once when only one thing matters when you are praying and that it God. I also think that the reason He recited The Our Father is because He wanted to give us a guideline and a base to follow along. Lastly, “But if you do not forgive men, neither will your Father forgive your transgressions,” stood out to me because earlier this morning I had been have a constructive conversation with a person who does not share my views and they believed in pretty much the Double Destination that me had talked about. They had been saying something along the lines of “if God is all knowing, then He knows where everyone will end up so why be respectful to people” so I had to explain to them that God allows you to have free will and your choices that you make with that free will determines to some extent whether you go to Heaven or Hell. I personally think that I had to remember to forgive them because they did not share my views and pray for God to forgive them for not understanding.

Something that stuck out to me in today’s Gospel was “Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.” because He is teaching how to properly pray to our Lord our God.

Jesus instructs us not to “babble like the pagans” who believe their many words and stuff like that will make them heard Instead, prayer is a conversation with God, our Father, who already knows what we need before we ask. The “Our Father prayer serves as a guide for a meaningful prayer life, teaching us to focus on God’s will and our relationship with Him. be THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD!!!

Again Jesus tells us how we should live but this time in how we pray. I have noticed that these couple of gospel readings Jesus tells us again how we should live our lives to glorify him. I ask to for Gods grace so that I may be able to do what it asked of me.

In today’s Gospel Jesus teaches his disciples how to pray. We need to ask God to help us pray, and to teach us how to pray. He showed us the Lord’s Prayer. But what I take out of the Lord’s Prayer is “and forgive us our trespasses”. We ask God for forgiveness when we sin. The Lord’s Prayer teaches us that we can look up to the Lord and ask for forgiveness.

in today´s gospel Jesus teaches his disciples how to pray. this is also Jesus teaching us how to pray. if we are to pray than we must pray like Jesus and be holy. Jesus is the way the truth and the life and therefore he knows how to pray good and correctly. we must follow his example and pray every single day and love god as Jesus and his disciples did before us.

“IN PRAYING, DO NOT BABBLE LIKE THE PAGANS,WHO THINK THAT THEY WILL BE HEARD BECAUSE OF THEIR MANY WORDS.” MT 6:7-15. This means take your time to truly reflect on the words in the lords prayer. that was why Jesus taught it to us first. Each and every line has a singular spiritual meaning that dwells deep inside of our very creation. The lords prayer teaches us to humbly worship god but at the same time follow his commands. #YODO

In today ´ s Gospel I think that we need to forgive and that we need to pray. Jesus was telling the people if you dont forgive then the Father will not forgive you. So I feel like we need to forgive and we need to pray to Jesus because people are supposed to love and be caring so todo that we will need to forgive others.

what stood out to me was in prayer do not babble like the pagans, who think they will be heard by there many words. this made me thing of the one verse that tells you that when you give alms, do not blow a trumpet before you. you should never think that you deserve something just for doing something good.

At the end of the gospel, Jesus tells us that if we judge others, and not forgive them, we will be judged, and not forgiven. This coincides with a different reading that I remember where Jesus says that if you plan to leave an offering to God and have not forgiven your brother, to leave the offering at the altar and not come back until you do so. Then you can come back and offer your offering of contrition.

In the Gospel today, Jesus says, “In praying, do not babble like the pagans, who think that they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them. Your Father knows what you need before you ask him.” I think that Jesus was telling us that we need to be humble when we pray and not for pride.

The part of this Gospel that stuck out to me was when Jesus says, “If you forgive men their transgressions,
your heavenly Father will forgive you.” This meant to me that if you are willing to forgive others then God will be more likely to let you enter Heaven.

“If you forgive man for their transgressions, your heavenly father will forgive you. If you do not forgive, neither will your heavenly father forgive you.” This means that we must forgive others, or God will not forgive us. We must show mercy to others and forgive others if we want to go to heaven, even if they don’t forgive us. Your reward will be great in heaven.

The Gospel has given us the Our Father today. It also talks about how if we forgive, we will be forgiven, but if we don’t we won’t be forgiven either. This means we need to be like God, we need to forgive like Jesus, we need to love like him. All you have to do is pray, love, forgive, and be kind.
