Prayer Prompt before reading MK 12:1-12 Come, Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray well, interpret the Scriptures for me so that I may know the Truth about who God the Father is and God the Son so that I may know who I am.
“THE STONE THAT THE BUILDERS REJECTED HAS BECOME THE CORNERSTONE.” MK 12:1-12
Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
Today, Jesus uses a parable to describe how the Jews have killed all of the prophets God sent them. Now, God’s only Son, Jesus, has come and they are trying to find a way to put Him to death. They believe He is a blasphemer. Jesus claims to be God, this is blaspheming unless He is. Jesus later quotes David in the Psalms, The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; by the Lord has this been done, and it is wonderful in our eyes?” Psalm 118:22
How many times has Jesus came to us and we reject Him? If I reflect hard enough, I think, for me, about every day. This is what makes Jesus so special. Even though we fall short of loving Him, sin, give into temptation, He comes back every day ready to love and forgive you. Allow Jesus to love you. Be vulnerable. We hate that word, vulnerable. It makes us sound weak, our pride despises it.
Humility is the virtue that beats pride. Be humble, recognizing that being vulnerable to God who is the greatest power which is love, made you and has a plan for you. Be vulnerable, surrender, and allow Him to rule your life. He asks us to die to ourselves, pick up our crosses, and follow Jesus to receive the eternal reward. This is why I start each reflection with “Humbly submit your will to God (thy Will be done). Today, right now, in your life Jesus is still present and still waiting.
Today’s challenge: Visit Jesus in a quiet empty Church and listen. We know our sins well, this summer try to conquer one of them through frequent reception of the sacraments, a dedicated prayer time, adoration, and avoid the near occasion of sin by breaking the habit that is leading you to sin. Consecrate yourself to Jesus through Mary with a daily consecration prayer. God chose Mary to bring His Son to us we must return to Him through the same instrument, say your rosary daily, no excuses.
Be a servant, become a saint!
