Prayer Prompt before reading JN 3:16-21 Come, Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray well, interpret the Scriptures for me so that I may know the Truth about who God the Father is and God the Son so that I may know who I am.

“GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY-BEGOTTEN SON, SO THAT EVERYONE WHO BELIEVES IN HIM MIGHT NOT PERISH BUT MIGHT HAVE ETERNAL LIFE.” JN 3:16-21

Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.

God gave us His only Son. This Son, Jesus, went through a most painful Passion and Death. He fulfilled His mission by resurrecting and saving us from Hell. Sinners deserve hell. Hell is reserved for selfish people. We nailed Jesus to the cross with our sins. He took our place to reconcile us with God. Thank you, Jesus.

How can we ever repay you? We can’t! That is the amazing Good News. Our God loves with a sacrificial love. He loves us even if we don’t love Him back. Who does this? It is not logical. It is radical and a gift to those who believe. Our Father is love straight through. He just loves. When we are selfish and sin, He does not move. We make a choice to move from Him. If it is a serious sin, we have removed ourselves from the Vine by not not remaining in His love. Jesus created a bridge after the Fall of Adam and Eve to cross the chasm which is baptism, then confession. If we are not in a state of grace, all good things we do cannot glorify the Father. This is what we were made for! When we sin we are not being who we were created to be. The Good News is that every Mass God the Father continues to redeem us through His Son.

Every confession God our Father continues to redeem us through His Son. Which human do you know continues to be hurt by another and continues to forgive over and over and over? Don’t get married until you find that person!!!!! Relationships are messy and marriage is a vocation to learn how to love the way God loves us. It is where we truly learn to forgive the way the Father forgives us. It is where we learn sacrificial love!

Jesus does not condemn us. We condemn ourselves by being selfish, not loving, and hurting others. God gave us complete freedom or a free will and Jesus invites us to make a decision to come to the light and crawl out of the darkness. Jesus conquered death, sin, and the darkness (evil).

We enter the tomb with Jesus at our Baptism and receive new life. We receive the spiritual powers of intellect and free will. In Baptism, we receive the Holy Spirit and the power to overcome sin and live a new life on earth and in heaven. If we do not come to Him, continue in the darkness/sin, we lose the power of the cross in our life.

Jesus wants nothing more than for us to be in heaven with the Father, this was His entire mission for coming to earth, He wants it so bad He died for us in total and complete obedience to the Father’s Will. May we come to Him, give ourselves to Him, and repent (change our life, come to the light). God’s mercy is as big as the ocean compared to our sins, but it requires a response to come to Him and ask for this mercy. God’s grace is bigger than any sin or any multitude of sins. God’s grace restores what sin has damaged.

Allow Jesus to be “the one” in your life because as Fr. Mike Schmitz says, “You are Jesus’s ‘the one’!” Jesus is not near as concerned with your sins as He is you coming to console His heart bringing your brokenness, sinfulness, wretchedness, imperfections so that He can make you perfect. Be vulnerable, open up your heart, and allow Jesus in. He died to live with you here and now in this time and place.

One of the requirements to enter into heaven is to believe or have faith that Jesus is the Son of the living God. Take time to educate yourself and read about Him. Take time to talk to Him. We can’t worship or put our soul on the line for someone we don’t know. This is a big deal and it is hard to believe and really stand for something. Jesus is forcing you to make a decision today. Are you with Him or against Him? There is no in-between. He never said it would be easy, just rewarding!

“If God died for your soul and Satan is doing everything he can to steal it, it must be worth a lot!” -Addi Leland

Do you realize what you have and the Powers that are fighting for it?

Today’s challenge: Spend time in silence and listen to your heart to know who you are, your identity in God. Use your spiritual powers, understand your mission through Baptism, and fight to make sure the power of the cross shines in your life. ”The greatest love is to lay one’s life down for one’s friends.” ”Love one another as I have loved you.” Don’t allow the regret on your death bed to be that you didn’t love enough.
