Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary.

Jesus said to his disciples:
“When the Advocate comes whom I will send you from the Father,
the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father,
he will testify to me.
And you also testify,
because you have been with me from the beginning.

“I have told you this so that you may not fall away.
They will expel you from the synagogues;
in fact, the hour is coming when everyone who kills you
will think he is offering worship to God.
They will do this because they have not known either the Father or me.
I have told you this so that when their hour comes
you may remember that I told you.” JN 15:26-16:4

What does testify mean? Serve as evidence or proof of something’s existing or being the case or to show something is true or real: to give proof of something. Merriam-Webster Dictionary

Who is to serve as evidence or proof of Jesus? The Apostles. Today, us.

Jesus is still speaking to His Apostles at the Last Supper before He dies the next day. He is telling them to trust in Him. He is sending the Holy Spirit to help them remember all that He said for the salvation of souls. His one desire is for every soul created to reach their heavenly home, the Father our Creator. He then tells the Apostles, “And you also testify, because you have been with me from the beginning”. The Apostles are chosen to serve as evidence or proof that Jesus existed. The Scriptures they wrote were Inspired by the Holy Spirit that Jesus promised at the Last Supper. The Scriptures are living and effective for you and I today. Jesus Christ really did walk the earth with these 12 men. Jesus Christ is still living and effective in the Word. Jesus Christ is still alive and present with us today in prayer and the Eucharist. Each one of us received the Holy Spirit at baptism and will help us know the Truth when we read, listen, and reflect on Scripture. The Holy Spirit exists for us to ask guidance and we should invite the Holy Spirit to live with us each day. This helps us make better decisions and do God’s will. The Apostles needed to know this because Jesus then tells them that they will die for believing in Him. Last, Jesus says, “I have told you this so that you may not fall away”. There are 20 million fallen away Catholics in the U.S. If you know someone in your family or at your work/school, it is time for you to TESTIFY and evangelize. First, through friendship and love, the doctrine will follow later. Invite them to pray or go to Church with you and your family.

Today’s challenge: If you know someone in your class whose parents do not take them on Sundays, offer to take them.
