Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary.

Jesus said to the Jews:
“If I testify on my own behalf, my testimony is not true.
But there is another who testifies on my behalf,
and I know that the testimony he gives on my behalf is true.
You sent emissaries to John, and he testified to the truth.
I do not accept human testimony,
but I say this so that you may be saved.
He was a burning and shining lamp,
and for a while you were content to rejoice in his light.
But I have testimony greater than John’s.
The works that the Father gave me to accomplish,
these works that I perform testify on my behalf
that the Father has sent me.
Moreover, the Father who sent me has testified on my behalf.
But you have never heard his voice nor seen his form,
and you do not have his word remaining in you,
because you do not believe in the one whom he has sent.
You search the Scriptures,
because you think you have eternal life through them;
even they testify on my behalf.
But you do not want to come to me to have life.

“I do not accept human praise;
moreover, I know that you do not have the love of God in you.
I came in the name of my Father,
but you do not accept me;
yet if another comes in his own name,
you will accept him.
How can you believe, when you accept praise from one another
and do not seek the praise that comes from the only God?
Do not think that I will accuse you before the Father:
the one who will accuse you is Moses,
in whom you have placed your hope.
For if you had believed Moses,
you would have believed me,
because he wrote about me.
But if you do not believe his writings,
how will you believe my words?”  JN 5:31-47

Today, Jesus reveals His mission to do the will of the Father.  In plain language He is telling the Jews and us today that He is the Messiah that the chosen people have been waiting for.  He is the One who Moses spoke about, “For if you had believed Moses you would have believed me, because he wrote about me.”  John the Baptist, the last great prophet, ushered Christ into the world.  ”You sent emissaries to John, and he testified to the truth. But I have testimony greater than John’s.”  The Father sent Jesus to shed His blood for the world, not to condemn us but set us free, “God so loved the world that he gave his only-begotten Son, so that everyone who believes in him might have eternal life.” JN 3:15
Do you believe Jesus?  Do you believe He is the One true Christ, the Messiah, the Son of the living God?  As we come to the end of Lent, are you closer to your Savior through your fasting, prayer, and giving to those in need?  Belief begins in your heart.  Have you been seeking?  Have you been changed by God’s grace?  Are you stronger after becoming weak and recognizing you need Christ?  Our human weakness and sin can be overcome because Christ died and rose.  Have you brought yourself to God’s grace habitually?  Have you recognized through your fast that you CAN control yourself and will to change through delaying gratification?  Are you allowing Christ to speak to you in the Scriptures by meditating on them each day?  Jesus became Man to show us God’s love, save us, and be a model of holiness.  If we want to enter heaven, we must free ourselves of sin (the Devil) and become holy through grace in the sacraments, a daily prayer life, and most importantly a strong relationship with Him.  Jesus gave all to do the Father’s Will.  Today, He reveals Himself as the Truth and the way back to the Father.  Admit your sin and weakness, recognize your weakness, and come to the One who can do all things. He wants you to be who you were created to be and bring His power in you to be holy.  ”Be perfect, as my heavenly Father is perfect.”  Holiness equals happiness, eternal joy which we can achieve here and now.  We are living in the resurrection, we have all we need to accomplish God’s plan of salvation in us and the whole world.  Mary, bring us to your Son’s most Sacred Heart.  Help us to see His love for us.  Bring us His mercy and grace.  Amen.

Today’s challenge: “What are you looking for?”  ”Seek and you shall find, knock and the door will be opened.”  Open your heart and allow Jesus in.  This is difficult because we think we will lose control or power.  Swallow your pride and go through hard and boring to receive eternal joy.  Deny yourself something you like today.

Be a servant, become a saint!
