Joseph.and Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mar .

Jesus and his disciples returned once more to Jerusalem.
As he was walking in the temple area,
the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders
approached him and said to him,
“By what authority are you doing these things?
Or who gave you this authority to do them?”
Jesus said to them, “I shall ask you one question.
Answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.
Was John’s baptism of heavenly or of human origin? Answer me.”

They discussed this among themselves and said,
“If we say, ‘Of heavenly origin,’ he will say,
‘Then why did you not believe him?’
But shall we say, ‘Of human origin’?”–
they feared the crowd,
for they all thought John really was a prophet.
So they said to Jesus in reply, “We do not know.”
Then Jesus said to them,
“Neither shall I tell you by what authority I do these things.” MK 11:27-33

that At first, nothing came to me on this one. Then, as I thought about it more, I realized how important today’s Gospel is. For success there must be authority. If anyone believes they are God, they are a fool. Yet, we know that the Original Sin is desiring power or believing we are in control. Jesus makes a revolutionary statement, “Was John’s baptism of heavenly or of human origin? Answer me.” Jesus teaches us how important baptism is and that it is of heavenly origin. Those who do not believe in heavenly things are not followers of Christ. So believing in an authority really influences some big decisions in our life. If God is the Ultimate Authority, then why do we give Him so little time and spend so much time doing what we want instead of what He made us for. Since He is our Creator, why are we not searching harder through prayer, Scripture, and sacraments to understand our identity, what we specifically were made for. Since He is our Savior, why do we not recognize we are sinners and repent more often, thank Him daily, come and visit Him regularly, receive the host that He has made for us everyday of our lives. Basically, what I am saying is why don’t we make God truly the center of our lives if He is the Ultimate Authority over all things. We wouldn’t be here if God didn’t love us/create us. We wouldn’t have a chance to be with Him for eternity in eternal joy without Him. We would have no guide today to help us as we suffer and struggle. God is the Ultimate Authority and again the irony is He is love and forgiveness a servant for our souls. He does not brag about His power or do things that show it off like we do. His love and mercy always amaze me! I am such a wretched sinner, selfish, and prideful. Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, have mercy on me, a sinner! We are made to be followers and servants. It doesn’t sound like a good life, but again the irony is is what brings us joy. We all know the harder we work for something the greater the reward. Being spiritually buff is much more difficult and the rewards are much greater, eternal life where we will desire nothing more ever again and we will be at peace.

Today’s challenge: Recognize your role and understand your identity with God. He is the Ultimate Authority. Worship more seriously, participate more in Mass, pray more often, sit in silence and ask the Holy Spirit to bring you to God. Simply, make God #1 in your life. I suck at this ?

Be a servant, become a saint!
