Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.

On that day, as evening drew on, Jesus said to his disciples:
“Let us cross to the other side.”
Leaving the crowd, they took Jesus with them in the boat just as he was.
And other boats were with him.
A violent squall came up and waves were breaking over the boat,
so that it was already filling up.
Jesus was in the stern, asleep on a cushion.
They woke him and said to him,
“Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?”
He woke up,
rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Quiet! Be still!”
The wind ceased and there was great calm.
Then he asked them, “Why are you terrified?
Do you not yet have faith?”
They were filled with great awe and said to one another,
“Who then is this whom even wind and sea obey?” MK 4:35-41

Jesus has performed many miracles fulfilling many prophecies the disciples would have understood. The current distraction of the winds possibly tipping the boat and them drowning is a real possibility. Their fear with God right next to them sleeping is real, but lacks faith. Jesus reveals to us that He can even control the wind and the Apostles were in awe. God is more powerful than us, we are easily distracted, and without God we live in great fear. This hinders our ability to live out our baptismal promises. This keeps us from finding ourselves and ever sitting in silence and listening. ”There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear.” 1 John 4:18 I love that quote. It is like the standard for achieving true love. God is love and there is no fear in God. We are asked by Him to trust, to have faith. There is no other way to enter the Kingdom except by faith, human reason can only take us so far.

The patriarchs in the Old Testament had great faith. The disciples do not, yet! Faith is not wished for or luck. It is based on knowledge and complete consent that you believe in your heart Jesus resurrected and all He said is true. It is a covenant that cannot be broken between God and His people and a person believes in this covenant of blood/God’s life. First, we are called to come to where God revealed these things to us, Scripture. Then, we are called to live the Good News and share it with others. If we want to continue to live in fear and never understand God’s faithfulness and love for us, then do not read the Scriptures or bring yourself to God. Continue to rely on self instead of the will of God. God gives you a choice. We need God and He does everything in His power to come to us without taking away our free will to come to know Him and come back to Him.

Today’s challenge: Free yourself from the distractions of the world, read the Scriptures, faithfully and reverently worship God and receive Him at Mass. What’s your Bible? Netflix, CNN, Fox News, Instagram, sports? God is trying to tell you something and develop an intimate friendship with you. Take some time to listen in the silence!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Be a servant, become a saint!
