Humbly submit your will to God (thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Jesus said to his disciples:
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’
will enter the Kingdom of heaven,
but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.

“Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them
will be like a wise man who built his house on rock.

The rain fell, the floods came,
and the winds blew and buffeted the house.
But it did not collapse; it had been set solidly on rock.
And everyone who listens to these words of mine
but does not act on them

will be like a fool who built his house on sand.
The rain fell, the floods came,
and the winds blew and buffeted the house.
And it collapsed and was completely ruined.”  Mt 7:21, 24-27

The interesting part of the Gospel today is what Jesus says in both circumstances, “Everyone who listens to me”.  He is teaching us that just coming to Jesus and listening is not enough.  We must act.  We must build something.  We were created for doing, to evangelize.  Christians never stand still, we are either going forward in our faith or backwards.  We are faced with choices each day and those choices shape who we are.  Once we have listened to God’s Word, we must love.  Love is a verb, we must do something.  How should we act?  10 commandments, 8 beatitudes, virtuous, unselfishly, with love, without many possessions  When should we act?  Right after you roll out of bed, touch the crucifix, get down on your knees and pray, love God back for the gift of a new day to love.  Then, love others throughout your day after you have read the Scriptures and been reminded that we were made to love.  Where should we act? Start in your own mind and get it right, then with your family, then in your school, workplace, and parish, then in the community or world.  Be Christ for others, His hands and feet, and when needed use words.

Today’s challenge: Get your mind right with Scripture or silent prayer.  Form your actions after Christ. Be a doer and build a great saint in yourself, a great family, a great school, parish, or business for the greater glory of God.

We are all saints in training.  Become a saint!
