MARY SAID, “BEHOLD, I AM THE HANDMAID OF THE LORD. MAY IT BE DONE TO ME ACCORDING TO YOUR WORD.” LK 1: 26-38
Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary and Joseph.
Prayer Prompt before reading LK 1:26-38: Come, Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray, interpret the Scriptures for me so that I may know the Truth about who God the Father and God the Son are so that I may know who I am.
As Mary is in deep contemplation (prayer) with God the Father almighty, the angel Gabriel appears to her. Mary had a deep and profound prayer life in which she adored God. She was humble and wanted to please God. God had given her a special grace for a special mission.
At this moment, the Annunciation, Mary consecrates herself totally and completely to God. She is our perfect model for saying yes to God (loving trust vs. fear). It is what we all should be striving for. Mary did not know the full weight of her decision, but she trusted God with her whole heart.
If God sent an angel to us to carry out a much smaller task than bringing His only Son into the world, would we be ready? Do we take time each day to sit in silence and listen to what God is asking of us? Me either, but I am continually fighting and not giving up. Do we meditate (reflect on) the Scriptures and ask God what His will is for our day?
God still wants us to bring His Son into the world by the power of the Holy Spirit through us. Do you reflect Christ in your prayer and deeds throughout the day? I have a lot of work to do, too! With the grace of God and His love for us, through the awesome YES modeled by Mary, we can open ourselves up to God’s love and mirror Jesus in our daily prayer and actions.
Today’s challenge: Put your rosary on your pillow so you don’t forget to pray it asking Mary to walk you through her life with Jesus.
“No one can live continually in sin and continue to say the Rosary: either they will give up sin or they will give up the Rosary” – Bishop Hugh Doyle
“The Rosary is the most excellent form of prayer and the most efficacious means of attaining eternal life. It is the remedy for all our evils, the root of all our blessings. There is no more excellent way of praying.” Pope Leo XIII
“Say the Holy Rosary. Blessed be that monotony of Hail Mary’s which purifies the monotony of your sins!” -St. Josemaria Escriva
“Some people are so foolish that they think they can go through life without the help of the Blessed Mother. Love the Madonna and pray the rosary, for her Rosary is the weapon against the evils of the world today. All graces given by God pass through the Blessed Mother.” -St. Padre Pio
Be a servant, be a saint today!
#Christian YODO (You Only Die Once; We will live again!)
Mary is the way to Jesus’s heart. That is why we pray to Mary, and we ask her to pray for us to her son in our intercession. Mary was hand picked by God to be the mother of Jesus. She knows how to help us, and will always be there for us. We need to remember to pray to her, and she will help us.
I think God is trying to tell us that anything and everything can and will happen through him so don’t be surprised when he comes top you.
In this Gospel I believe Jesus is trying to show us that Mary was the Mother of God and that she should be respected for it. As we do this we should kneel in prayer or Just pray through her intercession.
open ourselves up to God’s love
This part of today’s scripture reflection stood out to me because we have to be willing to except and say yes to God. Whatever God asks you to do, your first answer should be yes. NO matter what he asks us to do, we have to say yes, just like Mary did to the Angel Gabriel. We need to believe that God has the power to transform us with the agreement we make with him when we say just one simple word, yes.
Mary was the only perfect women ever. We will never be like Mary but we can try our best to do it. God knows we cant be like Mary which is why He gave us the sacraments through Jesus. God gave us the tools to get to Him even though we are not perfect. We don’t have to be perfect to get into Heaven but we have to try our best to be as good as we can be. God wants us to be with Him so we have to take the stuff He gives us and live our lives to the fullest. To get closer to God we can pray the Rosary today.
In today’s Gospel we see Mary say yes to God and agree to become the Mother of Jesus our Lord and savior. All of us need to be like Mary we all need to say yes to God because he will show us the way to eternal life with him and that should be everyones goal. Once we make it to Jesus he will guide us the rest of the way there we just have to put the work in to find him because he is waiting for us waiting for our love. Jesus longs for us to love him and once that happens he will give us eternal happiness throughout life untill we meet him after our death.
In today’s gospel it talks about how the Angle Gabriel came to Mary and how she accepted to be the mother of God by saying “Behold I am the Handmade of the Lord, let it be done to me according to thee word” , and the Angle departed from her. The gospel also tells how her cousin Elizabeth has also conceived in her old age and she is in her 6 month this is proof nothing is impossible for our God to do.
Some people are so foolish they think they can go through life without the helping of the Blessed Mary, they think that they control what happens they don’t understand who God is and how much power He has. He is power NO ONE will ever trump God He will always be the most kind loving most powerful being EVER.
“Mary did not know the full weight of her decision, but she trusted God with her whole heart.” Today God is telling me that we should trust in Him just like Mary did. Mary appeared to people in many different ways, but today is special because today she is known as Our Lady Of Guadalupe. She is known by the Mexican culture. Maybe people adore Her for what She had said and done, She is one of the most important people ever. Mary trusted God, so we should too. Trust Him with your whole heart for He is the true way out of this world. God is the most important thing you could ever hear of. He means more than the world and we should thank Him for His works.
Today something that sticks out to me is that Mary says she is the handmaiden of the Lord. I am not really sure why this sticks out to me. It might be that he is calling her to something and she says yes even if it may make her look bad. Just like we should listen to God when he calls us. At first even Mary was like what how I don’t have relations with a man how am I supposed to have a child. Then she listens to the Angel and says that she shall do whatever God calls and wants of her.
Mary is an amazing model and she is someone we should all look up to. Mary let her son be the savior of the world and love us and take care of us. Even though she knew all the heart breaks that would come with this she did her fathers will. When Jesus comes back a lot of people won’t be ready because they put other things before God and sin against him. Many people try to model bad people and people that won’t help them get to Heaven. That is why people should model Mary as much as they can because she is so glorious.
In today’s Gospel, The Angel Gabriel appears to Mary and asks her to be the mother of God. At first she is troubled by this but eventually she accepts and says, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.” We should listen to God and do His will. Although Mary seemed confused, she believed in and trusted God. We should do the same when God is telling us to do something and we need to believe and trust in Him.
“Do not be afraid”, Mary was not afraid of the Lord or what people would think, but Joseph was ashamed of Mary and afraid about his reputation. LOve God and trust in him, and you shall receive the Holy Spirit.
Mary is in conversation with the angel Gabriel from God. She is troubled because she doesn’t know what he is talking about. So as us catholic young men. We are to listen to God’s voice and accept his vocation. God is the way in which our vocation will lead us and others to Christ, he is the truth that made sinners saints, he is the life that’s death saved our life. Mary’s faith was so huge she could never say no to God because that would ruin what we believed. If Mary never had faith we would be in a troubled world. This is our vocation, and if we never except it we are in a assigned part that was never assigned to us. There was a podcast that I listened to “About Four o’ Clock”. It’s about discernment and vocation. They talked about that in School Of Rock. The band director assigned the class different parts that made the band whole. Us Catholics need to understand that we have different callings or in the same group. But we are his sons and he wants us to be whole with him and make Earth a place for worship not power. I see it as, Faith isn’t an act of showing, it’s an act of giving. It;’s not showing because you’re not showing off that I am more Holier than you. It’s giving because you are giving your love that God has given you. so give not show. Say yes, never say no. Be not afraid for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
In today’s scripture it says The Rosary is the most excellent form of prayer and the most efficacious means of attaining eternal life. It is the remedy for all our evils, the root of all our blessings. There is no more excellent way of praying.” Today is the feast of our lady, praying the Rosary is very important and it allows us to encounter Mary and to enter our mysteries of Jesus Christ.
Mary is a great model of holiness because she said yes to God for one of the biggest tasks ever in the world without really knowing what would happen if she did say yes. In our life we will be asked by God to do something whether it’s to become a parent or a religious person we will all have a calling that we need to say yes to.
In today’s Gospel these words stuck out to me
“MAY IT BE DONE TO ME ACCORDING TO YOUR
WORD” I think these words stuck out to me because
it is the Christmas season and “MAY IT BE DONE
TO ME ACCORDING TO YOUR WORD” is the words
Mary said when she agreed to have Jesus in her womb.
This is very important because Jesus will eventually die for
MY sins and the sins of the whole WORLD. These words
are from the Divine Mercy Chaplet.
Mary is our spiritual mother. just like how we can go to our mother for help, so can we go to Mary. she is here to help us
Mary is our Mother and she will protect us. I believe if Mary can take on God’s task we can, we should strive to be like her. One of the ways is to pray to Mary by praying the Holy rosary, going to mass, confession, and trying to live your life as holy as you can. God gave free will to do whatever we want, but he only gave us one life.
Do we meditate.this line stuck out to me because its asking a question i can answer right away for i do meditate and sit with god i talk with the angles and i have seen into the eyes of the lord.Amen
I think this sctriputre is using Mary as an example of how we should except and allow Jesus into our heart., “Mary consecrates herself totally and completely to God”. She is an example of everything we should do. She is free of sin making her the perfect role model fo. us
This Scripture is calling me to be like Mary, and follow Jesus, and say yes to him. See, Mary said yes to a Angel to get pregnant. So why can’t we say yes to God to help others in need? Or pray at church? Or just pray in general? I mean, all we have to do is make a relationship with him. There’s gonna be some risks, but its worth it. We should take risks to follow God, even if its small or big ones!
Mary is everyone’s mother and she cares for everyone just like God. She can help with anything you ask her. she was not afrad to say yes and she was humbe about it.
Mary did not know the full weight of her decision, but she trusted God with her whole heart.
This stood out to me because it is a perfect example of what we should be doing but don’t.
In today’s Gospel it talks about how the Angel Gabriel came to Nazareth. Mary had accepted to carry Jesus in her womb. Without her saying yes we wouldn’t have our Savior.
MARY SAID,”BEHOLD,I AM THE HANDMAID OF THE LORD.MAY IT BE DONE TO ME ACCORDING TO YOUR WORD.”LK 1: 26-38
The angel Gabriel was sent by God to the town of Nazareth. To A virgin named Mary.Coming to her he said’Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you.”Behold you will bear a son and you shall name him Jesus.
Today’s Gospel is the Annunciation and I have heard this story many times but I feel like I don’t actually think about how important this moment is. What I think is cool is how Mary goes from total confusion saying “How can this be, since I have no relations with a man?” To total understanding and realizing that God can do anything.
In today’s gospel God is trying to tell us that we need to open our hearts to our father . We need to believe that he is waiting for us. We need to adore God like Mary did
Today’s scripture reflections talks about the annunciation of Mary when she concentrates herself, and this is when angel Gabriel appears to Mother Mary and she is our perfect model because she said yes to God having trust in God.We can open ourselves up to God and mirror Jesus by praying and reading daily scripture.
“Hail, full of grace! The Lord is with you.” We have said this frase so many times but don’t realize what it truly means. The angel Gabriel came down from heaven to talk to a regular person just like anybody else. Mary was the chosen one and if we keep doing our best to love God and everyone else we can get to heaven just like Mary did. Mary did what God had chosen her for and that is what matters. She didn’t know what was going to happen but she trusted in God and knew the plan he had for her was good.
Today I think Jesus is trying to tell us that God can do anything in our lives. God appeared to Mary using the messenger angel Gabriel. God talks to us, not with a loud booming voice but with a kind whisper. God doesn’t need an angel to talk to us. We just have to listen. If we listen and ask the holy spirit for help his words will be clearer than sunny skies. God also talks to us through different ways like through his creation or the bible. We have to make the decision to listen if we want to know what God wills for our lives.
It was telling me to say a rosary on my pillow and say a prayer to night and every night!!
What Jesus told me today is that we should be like Mary. We should act with kindness towards everyone and if the lord were to send an angel right now I dont think we would be ready. We need to know that some day we will be taken by angels and we can’t be afraid. So we should all be like Mary and be like the handmade because she is our Holy and most venerable mother. She is the role model of Catholicism!!
what Jesus us trying to say to us is that we can’t continue to live in sin and that we should be praying in silence everyday.
“Some people are so foolish that they think they can go through life without the help of the Blessed Mother. Love the Madonna and pray the rosary, for her Rosary is the weapon against the evils of the world today. All graces given by God pass through the Blessed Mother.”
this quote stuck out to me because it is saying that us as people are foolish because we don’t know that praying to the Virgin Mary that it will change our life and we could patently help us to not sin as much anymore and she will help us!!
I think today’s gospel is asking us if were ready to make sacrifices for God, and i think that is an important question to ask ourselves because we don’t know when God will need us. It could be today tommorow a week or a month from now but will we be ready? If we meditate on the question and truthfully answer no IT’S OK. though being able to make a sacrifice for God is a huge goal we should all be working towards, even if we already have or if we are already ready.
In the Gospel Mary is amazed that she will conceive a child without having relations with a man and that the Lord chose her specifically to be the mother of Jesus. We should be outstanded that Jesus even died for our sins, yet all we do is ignore him. Jesus is trying to tell you that no matter what happens there WILL be a time when he comes again to this world and yet we will not be surprised, we will be just like “Eh, who is this Kid?” and walk away, we will not acknowledge him at all. Unless you believe the words of the Gospel, you believe the teachings you have been taught, you listen to other peoples beliefs of Jesus. You have to believe for Jesus to save us once again, because he won’t just automatically die for our sins he will try and talk and teach the teachings. He will not stop trying to save you before he goes. We don’t Crucify anymore we don’t whip people with stuff anymore, we have to believe for him to come down. We have to believe in him or else we’ll have to be the ones getting tortured and not him. That’s how the World works and that’s how it’s gonna be if we don’t believe so we can go to Heaven.
In today’s gospel there are two but I will choose the first and I think it is beautiful that an angel came down and went to Mary and she said at last that she will be the mother of JESUS!!!!!!
The gospel today was about Mary and how the angel Gabriel came to her. Mary should be an example to all of us as she had faith In God like no other. Faith is an important aspect of Christianity and we need it to truly love God and understand His teachings in the Bible.
Today in the Gospel, the Angel of the Lord came to Mary. ¨ Let it be done to me according to your word.¨ That stuck out to me because Mary is agreeing to be the Mother of our Savior! She is confused at first, but she agrees and becomes the Mother of Jesus. We celebrate Our Lady today appearing to Juan Diego, just like the angel did to Mary.
I feel that this scripture reflection is telling me how you are always perfect in Gods eyes. Mary loves each of us as if we are her own sons and daughters. They always know what we are doing and thinking. We cant hide anything from Jesus.
In today’s gospel it shows that we should use Mary as our role model and say yes to God. Mary believed in God and trusted him and we should aim to be like Mary.
Today’s Gospel Talks about The angel Gabriel told Mary she was pregnant with Jesus. This Gospel tells us that everything is possible to God. You may think it’s impossible but anything Is possible with God and through him. So keep believing never stop you never know something like a miracle may happen to you.
MARY SAID, “BEHOLD, I AM THE HANDMAID OF THE LORD. MAY IT BE DONE TO ME ACCORDING TO YOUR WORD.” LK 1: 26-38 What this means to me is that we need to be open to Jesus callings. And listen to what vocations he’s telling us to choose.
what i thought today was telling me is that picking up your rosary can be an easy solution for hard times.
THis Gospel is saying that , just listen to Jesus he will be your tour guide of life and help you through times just like mary, because she made probally the best decision of her life… to accept Jesus as mary son. Obey God and do what he asks.
What God is trying to tell me today is that we must have faith in him even though Mary didn’t believe it was possible she had faith in the Lord and believed in him and went through with his plan
I think what God is trying to tell me is we should look to Mary as an example of who we should try to be in our lives. We should always say yes to God no matter what He says or how hard we have to work to accomplish it.
In today’s Gospels, Mary sees the Angel Gabriel and she tells him that she is the handmaid of the Lord. I think that we all need to trust in God just like Mary did.
It was telling me that if you believe Jesus is with you anything is possible.
In the first/top Gospel it is saying how the angel came to Mary and said, “He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High.”
I think it is saying how the angel knows that Mary’s son will be very powerful and will be the only one!
Silence, all mankind, in the presence of the LORD! This means be quiet let the Lord speak His words and talk to you. When His light shines through your window be quiet and lets Him speak the word of God
I think today’s Gospel is about trusting instead of fearing God because if Mary had been afraid she would not have giving birth to Jesus, yes her life would have been easier but she would not have been pure, and Jesus might not have been born for many, many years.
God is telling Mary that Jesus son of God will be born and conceived by the Virgin Mary and she willingly takes the one of the biggest tasks knowing she has had no relations with Joseph or a man, and says “behold I am the handmaid of the Lord may it be done unto me according to your word”
I think in the Gospel today God is telling us that He can do anything, but we must pray a lot and fully believe in Him. We must keep asking for His blessing, so that we can become closer to Him.
I think what scripture is trying to tell me is that with God anyone can be true Catholic and nothing is too powerful for God he will destroy any bad things in the world and that conqueirng your fears is the true way you will succeed at the faith by getting to heaven
The thing that stuck out to me is “The Rosary is the most excellent form of prayer and the most efficacious means of attaining eternal life.” Because I feel like this is very true it doesn’t take that long just take 20 to 30 min out of your day to pray it.
When The Angel Gabriel Appeared to Mary she says yes. We need to be like this and say yes to God. Mary is depicted in the second reading as a woman standing on the moon clothed in the sun wearing a 12 starred crown. She said come to the Kingdom of our God. We need to follow the ways of God.
Mary is literally the perfect image for us. We need to be like her, not as in we need to completely change ourselves to look like her, but we need to be in her holiness. She is the perfect example for us and she is still so underrated! We absolutely need her to function as a holy human and child of God. If we act like her, we will go to Heaven.
We need to be thankful for Mary, because without her we wouldn’t have Jesus.
i think in this reading Jesus is trying to tell us that the devil is not nice and that he will kill us no matter what
“God still wants us to bring His Son into the world by the power of the Holy Spirit through us.” this really stuck out to me because through all that we do we need to be bringing God into it and teaching others about his way.
The Rosary is the most excellent form of prayer and the most efficacious means of attaining eternal life. This part stuck out to me because the Rosary is a powerful way of prayer. I feel like sometimes it is overlooked, but it only takes 10 minutes out of your day. Jesus gave up His life for us we can give up at least ten minutes out of our day. “No one can live continually in sin and continue to say the Rosary: either they will give up sin or they will give up the Rosary, this also stuck out to me because I know praying can help but you still have to go to confession to get rid of sin and to have a clean soul.
In the gospel today it talks about how the angel Gabriel appeared to Mary and asked her if she will be the mother of Jesus. Mary said yes and she became pregnant with Jesus. In the gospel it also said “Hail, full of grace! The Lord is with you.” to me that means that Jesus is always with us.
In today’s gospel, Mary is saying yes to the angel Gabriel. This is her fiat, “Let it be done unto me according to your word”. We also have a fiat, when we say yes to God about our life and how it is out of our control. We must let God take the wheel and steer us back to him. We all have a fiat and it starts with saying yes to God.
Today we celebrate the feast of Our Lady Of Guadalupe. She accepted the request to become the Blessed Mother. She is such an amazing mother, and she has helped us through so many things. That’s why we celebrate the Immaculate Conception.
What I got from this is that we need to make time for God never have time for anything but if we make time then we will get into heaven.
In the Book of Revelations, it is talking about a woman that stands on the moon, and is dressed with the sun. It also talks about a huge, red dragon with seven heads and ten horns. It is referencing Our Lady of Guadalupe. I think it is also referencing the devil. What stuck out to me is, that the dragon ate her first child as she was giving birth, and then gave birth to a son.
God wants us to say yes to him. We need to be humble just like Mary and say yes to God. Mary trusted God and we need to do the same thing.
In Today’s reading for Our Lady of Guadalupe, it talks about Mary, in the stars with a big crown on her head. It also mentions an evil dragon. I think that the dragon represents the devil, and it wants to draw us away from our mother Mary, so we need to not be tempted by the devil and always remember Mary.
Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.” Mary is the greatest example of a holy person. Mary said yes to God. We need to say yes to God next time he asks us to do something. Follow God and say yes to him.
Today it was talking about our lady of Guadalupe. She was a big part of the catholic faith. She is also a great role model. She trusted God and she agreed to have Jesus most holy. If she would have not agreed and had her fiat. We would not be saved. By her son Jesus
Today the angel appeared to Mary telling her she will have a baby with a man she had never had relations with. Imagine an Angel appearing to us and telling us that, how would we feel? Mary trusted God and knew that he had a plan for her. We need to start trusting God and His plan because that is what is going to lead us to do the right and most importantly lead us into Heaven.
“Some people are so foolish that they think they can go through life without the help of the Blessed Mother. Love the Madonna and pray the rosary, for her Rosary is the weapon against the evils of the world today. All graces given by God pass through the Blessed Mother.” -St. Padre Pio. The Blessed Mother Mary is not only Jesus’s mother but She is also our mother. She is trusted by God and because God trusts Her so much that He passes all the graces through her. We are not only blessed by God but by Mary.
In today’s reading, the woman is about to give birth to a baby, but the devil was waiting to devour the baby. The woman gave birth to a male, a child destined to rule the world with an iron rod. The child was caught up to God and the woman fled to the dessert. I think the woman was Mary and the child was Jesus. Satan was ready to take Jesus but He was caught up by God before Satan could get Him and devour Him. Mary turned her entire life to God by saying “yes” to having Jesus. She did that because she trusted God with her whole life. We should trust God with our live and let Him guide us to do good.
In this reading an angel appears to Mary and is telling her she will have a baby. Mary trusted in Gods plan and we should too. God will always have a plan for us and we need to trust in him.
this scripture is telling me to say yes to God and whatever he is calling me to. Mary sets an example for us by trusting God! She didn’t know what would happen once Gabriel told her that she would conceive God’s only Son, but she put her faith and trust in God and she got through it. We need to put our trust in God and know that He will be with us and take care of us throughout our lives.
Something that stuck out to me was “do not be afraid Mary you have found favor with God”. This stuck out to me because it is telling me that I don’t need to be afraid because God will lead me in the right way. God will never put us in a bad place but if we don’t find peace with God then we should be afraid because we don’t know what evil will do to us.
God came to Mary just like how he came to us. He is asking us to follow him. God sent the Angel Gabriel to Mary to ask her to be the Mother of Jesus. She could have said no, but she embraced this duty and said yes. Just like how we need to embrace God and say yes to God.
I think God is saying that we need to believe and have faith that Mary actually appeared to Juan Diego. If we truly believe in God and want to get to heaven we need to have faith in him and always believe his works.
We are all servants of God. We are all called to say “yes” to God and trust him whole-heartily. We need to trust in Him in the same fashion Mary did in this Gospel and give into his will and call for us.
In today’s scripture reflection it was about Our Lady Of Guadalupe. There are many stories about her and what she did but one that sticks out to me is when she met Juan Diego. This story shows that you can put your faith in Mary and she will always help you. Juan did not want to come to Mary but in the end he did and she helped him out with what he was needing.
Mary is a model of the church because when the angel Gabriel came to her, she was shaken with fear. Even though she was in a feared state, she understood that this was from God and said “Yes.” We need to become just like her, no matter what happens. If we are scared we must turn to God and have faith that He will save us.
Today we remember the announciation of Jesus to Mary. It must have been very scary for her because she was so young, and because we usually associate angels with taking us to God. So she probably thought she was dying. So it was really courageous of her to let go of her fear and listen to the angel.
I think today’s message is to never doubt Mary or the Holy Family. Mary is always with us and I think she doesn’t get the credit she deserves. Mary is always by our side and will never lose faith in us going down the right path.
Mary was the mother of Jesus, and she protected and guided him when he was too little to do so himself. We need to be like Mary and help those younger and less experienced than ourselves. This is an easy way to serve Christ because we should already be doing it.
I think today’s reading is trying to tell us that God will keep us safe no matter what. He is always there for us and always love’s us. The Lord I’d love so He will always be with you no matter what sin you commit.
“Come, Holy Spirit, teach me how to pray, interpret the Scriptures for me so that I may know the Truth about who God the Father and God the Son are so that I may know who I am.” Stuck out to me because we need to know who God really is.
what stood out to me was “With the grace of God and His love for us, through the awesome YES modeled by Mary, we can open ourselves up to God’s love and mirror Jesus in our daily prayer and actions.”
“a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.” This image describes our lady of Guatalupe, even though she didn’t appear to Juan Diego until hundreds of years after the writing of these words. This is true proof of ‘God has a plan’. Even though some of his ways may seem random and make no sense to us, He has a plan, and He will save us. This is also told how the lady in the vision flees with complete trust that the place she is going to, a place prepared by God, will be protected by God.
The second reading today is telling me to not let myself be tempted by Satan. Satan distracts you from the will of God. Mary said no to Satan and did not fall into temptation. If we pray our rosary and read our bible that will make the evil one leave us. We have to have good thoughts and not fall into that sin and we will be saved. Although, we are human, so we will sin. Don’t worry God will forgive us.
What stuck out to me is when Mary said “BEHOLD, I AM THE HANDMAID OF THE LORD. MAY IT BE DONE TO ME ACCORDING TO YOUR WORD.” She gives us an example of how we should react. She shows us that we should always obey God and never show any disrespect to our Parents our the Lord.
well that’s not creepy. I would probably take that as a sign that the devil will never win, even against the most humblest of people.
I think that the gospel is trying to tell us is that, Mary isn’t only Jesus’s mother but out mother. Like how God is our father Mary is out mother because she looks out for us and help us like how Jesus does. Mary loves us as much as our father loves us.
In this Gospel I take that we need to have as much trust in God as Mary did. The Angel Gabriel came to Mary and told her she would birth the Song of God. Mary Replied,“How can this be, since I have no relations with a man?” Then Angel Gabriel says the power of the most high will come up on you. Even though Mary was skeptical she still did such a brave thing. If we have as much trust in God as Mary did we can also do great things such as she did.
Today’s 2nd reading and Gospel were both about Mary and she’s someone I’ve come to admire greatly. To me, I’ve always struggled with finding a saint to pray too. So many people have told me how amazing they are and how you can form great relationships with them but it’s always been hard for me. All of these people lived so long ago and what they experience isn’t what I’m experiencing today. I just feel like I can’t relate to them. But with Mary it’s different. She was fourteen or fifteen when the angel Gabriel came to her. She became a mother at my age. She said yes to God at my age. And her yes led to so much scorn and public humiliation but she did it all out of love for God. And Mary is often depicted as a gentle and loving mother, which she most definitely is but Mary was also a warrior. She was strong and courageous. Her yes, her choice to carry Christ into the world, was not easy but she still did it with such love and strength and I think we can all learn so much from her example.
The gospel was telling me that Mary totally submits herself to God and we to should also do this. We need to submit oursevles to God and trust Him with our lives because he will provide for us and love us to the end of time.
“Blessed are you who believed that what was spoken to you by the Lord would be fulfilled.” This stood out to me because it shows me that if you believe in Gods word miraculous things will happen. Believe in him and all his promises would be fulfilled.
I think the reading today was about how Mary did good things and she is a christlike role model for everyone. Mary gave birth to our Lord, Jesus and God saw how christlike she was and decided Mary would be the mother of Jesus.
Today I hear that no matter what we need to accept Jesus’ calling to us. Mary had no idea what she was going to take on when she said yes to Gaberial but she did it in Gods will
what I think the reading was trying to tell me was that the second Jesus was born she fell in love with him an looked up at the sky and say the stars and thanked God for everything
“For at the moment the sound of your greetings reached my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy.” I think when Our Lady heard what Mary said “Most blessed are you Among Women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb”, she felt something about how special or how meaningful that really was.
Today I feel Jesus telling me that the you must only choose one thing Jesus or the Devil. So for me I would say Jesus but, it may not be as fun as going with the devil. But in the of time will be more holy and have more fun.
i think he is trying to tell us to not forget about him and to not stop praying because praying is how you communicate with him and to trust him and to live without fear because Jesus is there to protect you and save you from satan
i believe that the reading today is a symbol of the nativity with the woman and child representing Mary and Jesus, the dragon representing Herod the Great, and the desert representing Egypt
The reading today talks about holy Mary/ Our lady Guadalupe the reading says “A great sign appeared in the sky” I was Mary appearing to Juan Diego she is always taking care of us and always there when we need her she is a great sign.
I think what God is trying to tell us here today is a special one. A woman giving birth to a son, like Mary giving birth to Jesus, destined to rule all nations in the world, such a revolutionary moment in history. The dragon mentioned is like evil, the devil. When it preyed on Mary, she gave birth to Jesus and it wiped the dragon away. This was extraordinary. Mary giving birth to our Savior was the pinnacle of our Catholic faith. We need to trust in God and receive this greatness and strengthen our relationship with our creator and the one who died for our sins.
In today’s reading it is about a vision of a woman with stars on her head and with the sun glowing over her in a beautiful way. And that woman is Our lady of Guadalupe. It really stuck out to me because it said that behind her was a fire breathing dragon and that he was waiting for Our Lady to give birth to her son. When she finally gave birth to her beloved son. Jesus picked the baby and took him to the throne of Heaven. And that baby boy was Jesus Christ Our Lord and Our God. In today’s Gospel it was talking about when Mary and Elizabeth were together. The part that really stuck out to me was when Elizabeth said. “Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. She told her that because she was holding the baby the Savoir, the Lord in her own womb. I really liked when it said that a baby leaped in her womb. That’s because Jesus is pure happiness and pure love and pure light. Have a good rest of your day! God loves You!! God Bless You!!!!!
Something that stood out to me was that God still wants us to bring His Son into the world by the power of the Holy Spirit through us. “The Rosary is the most excellent form of prayer and the most efficacious means of attaining eternal life. It is the remedy for all our evils, the root of all our blessings. There is no more excellent way of praying.”
Mary was the only perfect women ever. We will never be like Mary but we can try our best to do it. The gospel also tells how her cousin Elizabeth has also conceived in her old age and she is in her 6 month this is proof nothing is impossible for our God to do.
She is our perfect model for saying yes to God (loving trust vs. fear). It is what we all should be striving for. Mary did not know the full weight of her decision, but she trusted God with her whole heart. This stuck out to me because we should always trust in God no matter what.
¨Mary had a deep and profound prayer life in which she adored God¨
We should all look up to Mary her closeness with God. She even accepted Jesus in her womb because she beleived thats what God wanted. Mary is a prime example of trusting God and praying. Mary was a pure young women, very young to be pregnant and even before marriage, and she still said yes to God. We need to trust God and let him in like Mary.
In today’s gospel the angel Gabriel comes down from heaven to ask Mary if she will be the Mother of God. In a similar way we are called to follow God’s will, and are constantly asked if we will follow it or if we will decide not to by God.
We must follow gods plan even though we may not want to we need to follow his plans.
Today’s scripture reflection stood out to me because we have to be willing to except and say yes to God. Whatever God asks you to do, your first answer should be yes. No matter what he asks us to do, we have to say yes, just like Mary did to the Angel Gabriel.
