Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Mary.

Brothers and sisters:
You were dead in your transgressions and sins
in which you once lived following the age of this world,
following the ruler of the power of the air,
the spirit that is now at work in the disobedient.
All of us once lived among them in the desires of our flesh,
following the wishes of the flesh and the impulses,
and we were by nature children of wrath, like the rest.
But God, who is rich in mercy,
because of the great love he had for us,
even when we were dead in our transgressions,
brought us to life with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
raised us up with him,
and seated us with him in the heavens in Christ Jesus,
that in the ages to come
he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace
in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.
For by grace you have been saved through faith,
and this is not from you; it is the gift of God;
it is not from works, so no one may boast.
For we are his handiwork, created in Christ Jesus for good works
that God has prepared in advance,
that we should live in them. Eph 2:1-10

Paul reminds us that we have inherited a fallen human nature.  We have desires and impulses of the flesh.  God had mercy on us and gave us the gift of faith.  ”But God, who is rich in mercy, because of the great love he had for us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, brought us to life with Christ (by grace you have been saved), raised us up with him.”  We still encounter times when we are tempted by the desires and impulses of the flesh, so how has God’s grace saved us?  First, we must have faith and believe God exists and that Jesus is who He says He is.  We must wake each day asking the Holy Spirit to guide us and believe that God is present here and now in me and in other around me not some distant place.  We must realize what we were made for, to make it to heaven through our baptism (another gift from God through the death and resurrection of Christ).  We must realize we have a purpose and we are called to holiness.  We must bring our souls to have an encounter with God each day in prayer.  We must admit that we are sinners that need a Savior and swallow our pride and get our butts to confession.  Last, we must come to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass to receive Jesus, God Himself. God cannot give us anything more or He would have.  Now do you realize what God has done for us?  Sorry, got a little preachy.  God has done everything for us, our very lives and every single breath is a gift.  He has given us everything we need to become a saint!

Today’s challenge: Allow God’s grace and mercy to come to your heart!  Believe and fight the devil.

Be a servant, become a saint!
