Humbly submit your will to God (Thy Will be done) and consecrate yourself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Jesus spoke to the crowds and to his disciples, saying,
“The scribes and the Pharisees
have taken their seat on the chair of Moses.
Therefore, do and observe all things whatsoever they tell you,
but do not follow their example.
For they preach but they do not practice.
They tie up heavy burdens hard to carry
and lay them on people’s shoulders,
but they will not lift a finger to move them.
All their works are performed to be seen.
They widen their phylacteries and lengthen their tassels.
They love places of honor at banquets, seats of honor in synagogues,
greetings in marketplaces, and the salutation ‘Rabbi.’
As for you, do not be called ‘Rabbi.’
You have but one teacher, and you are all brothers.
Call no one on earth your father;
you have but one Father in heaven.
Do not be called ‘Master’;
you have but one master, the Christ.
The greatest among you must be your servant.
Whoever exalts himself will be humbled;
but whoever humbles himself will be exalted.” MT 23:1-12

Today, Jesus teaches us that those who are in leadership positions in the Church, government, schools or our homes must be servants.  Jesus is the greatest example.  St. Paul writes in Philippians 2:5-11  ”Have among yourselves the same attitude that is also yours in Christ Jesus,* Who,* though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God something to be grasped.*Rather, he emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, coming in human likeness;* and found human in appearance,e he humbled himself,f becoming obedient to death, even death on a cross.*Because of this, God greatly exalted him and bestowed on him the name* that is above every name,g that at the name of Jesus
every knee should bend,* of those in heaven and on earth and under the earth,h and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,* to the glory of God the Father.
Jesus teaches us that we have one Father, we are all brothers and sisters in Christ, and must be servants to one another. This brings peace, righteousness, joy, and humility.  What a world that would be!  Die to self and be servant to everyone you see today.  Smile, provide a helping hand, pray in secret for others, get out of your room and off your electronics and be present to others, help with the dishes, cooking, laundry.  Do a random act of kindness for someone.  Serve and be humble no matter what position or title you gain on earth.

Today’s challenge: Be humble and serve.  Not just today, but make it a lifestyle.

Become a saint!
