Listen to today’s Mass readings and participate in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

Jesus lays it on thick today.  Don’t forget He has just criticized and warned the Pharisees and Sadduccess not to lead a double life (look good on the outside but bad on the inside-which counts the most).  Jesus says, ““There is nothing concealed that will not be revealed, nor secret that will not be known.
Therefore whatever you have said in the darkness
will be heard in the light,
and what you have whispered behind closed doors
will be proclaimed on the housetops.”

We often as young people and adults like to believe that other people are never hearing what we say about them.  We believe what we do in secret stays in secret.  There are no secrets with God, everything is out in the open.  We sometimes are afraid to tell sins in confession, I know I have been scared to.  We fear what the priest will think.  We are ashamed and embarrassed by our actions.  If you gossip or spread rumors about someone or sin in secret it is always known, don’t be fooled.  God IS Alimighty!  The great thing is, He gave us confession to continued to be washed of our guilt, shame, and sin. Thanks be to God!

Next, Jesus explains further not to be afraid and trust in God, “I tell you, my friends,
do not be afraid of those who kill the body
but after that can do no more.
I shall show you whom to fear.
Be afraid of the one who after killing
has the power to cast into Gehenna;
yes, I tell you, be afraid of that one.
Are not five sparrows sold for two small coins?
Yet not one of them has escaped the notice of God.
Even the hairs of your head have all been counted.
Do not be afraid.
You are worth more than many sparrows.”

God sees everything and He is the One whom we should be afraid because He has the power to judge us!  Today is a great day to change, go to confession, start over and give God your all!
Today is Friday, make a sacrifice for Jesus!  Get caught reading the Bible and saying your rosary!
