Today, we receive the beginning of the Hail Mary. We get the rest from Elizabeth at the Visitation, “blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.” Today, is the feast of the Annunciation. Two important Catholic teachings come to us in the Inspired Word of God today. Jesus conceived by the Holy Spirit and Mary’s yes to God (Fiat), Totus Tuus (totally yours), Angelus-“Behold, I am the handmaid of The Lord. May it be done to me according to your Word.” Lk 1:26-38 is how we are to respond to God’s call for us. Think about all of the ways God has taken care of your every need since the day you were born. This requires your trust in Him and giving yourself totally to Him.
Mary is the Comediatrix of Grace. She is “full of Grace”. She is the Mother of God. She is the root of salvation, the gateway to heaven. She is the second Eve and Christ is the new Adam. Daily take time to offer your prayers up through the hands of the Virgin Mary. Her Son never turns down her requests and she purifies them. Take time each day to say a Hail Mary and honor Mary. Then, think about the areas of your life you could open up and say yes to God better. Amen.
