Isaiah prophesies in the First Reading, “They that hope in the Lord renew their strength, they will soar as with eagle’s wings; they will run and not grow weary, walk and not grow faint.” Is 40:25-31

Jesus comforts us today in the Gospel, “Come to me all who labor and are heavy burdened, and I will give you rest.”

He also asks us to be like Him, “learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves.” Mt 11:28-31

Don’t allow Jesus’s suffering to be for nothing. He did it to save us from sin, but also to suffer in your place for all that life throws at you. Today, offer up all that you are suffering to Jesus, so His suffering was not for nothing. He is always there to comfort you with a meek and humble heart.

Next, He asks us to learn from Him. How can we help someone this Advent that is suffering (parents, friends, siblings, those in your extended family, neighbors, or in your community).
